Title: Never Giving Up

Chapter 6

***A Few Hours Later***

(Jason and Carly bump into each other in the park. They chuckle softly as they speak)

Carly: "How are things your way?"

Jason: (nods) "Okay. Sam's not happy with me because I chose Elizabeth. I made it clear to Sam that I love Elizabeth and want to be with her. In Sam's mind, I should have chosen her. I now have all of my memories back. Sam tried to point out all of Elizabeth's misdeeds, but I reminded her that I'd be pointing out hers, too."

Carly: (tilts her head) "I imagine Sam didn't like that too much."

Jason: (chuckles) "Nope." (sighs) "After much soul-searching during my time away, I realized that my heart belonged to Elizabeth. It's always been her, Carly."

(Carly folds her arms over her chest and walks a few steps away before facing her best friend again)

Carly: "You're right. It's not a secret that Elizabeth isn't my favorite person. However, I get why you love her. She never had a problem with your lifestyle or the guards you wanted on her and the boys for their safety. I always got the impression from Sam that she was too needy. Versus Elizabeth? When you needed to do your own thing or had to go to work, she completely understood. Just so we're clear, there's not going to be a reunion in the future between you and Sam, right?"

(Jason can't help the laugh from escaping his mouth before speaking)

Jason: "No, I promise, Carly. After all these years…and then with my memory returning….I finally realized where I'm meant to be." (nods) "And that's with Elizabeth Webber."

(He raises his eyebrows and points at Carly)

Jason: "Not to state the obvious, Carly, but you can't be interfering in other people's lives. You also need to learn to keep your opinions to yourself as not everyone likes to hear them. In the past, you'd say how much you hated Elizabeth or that she couldn't handle things in my life. Or you'd sometimes agree with Sam regarding her opinions on Elizabeth."

(Carly sighs deeply and briefly closes her eyes and she wipes her face with her hand. She wanted to argue with him, but she knew that he was right. She had a tendency to speak her mind when she shouldn't. She nods as she speaks)

Carly: "I know. I need to learn to do better. I promise to do better from now on."

(Jason narrows his eyes at her and can't help but wonder if she can really keep her word)

***Later That Night***

(In the park, Sam meets with a mystery person, who's wearing a cotton woven coat, revealing to be Helena Cassadine)

Sam: (annoyed) "It took you long enough to get here."

Helena: (chuckles) "Oh, Samantha, you should know better than to patronize me. I can make you disappear at the drop of a hat. Something tells me that no one would really care to see you gone."

Sam: (rolls her eyes) "Whatever. Do you have a plan to keep Jason and that bitch apart?"

Helena: (shrugs) "I admit that I did, but I doubt it'll work. My grandson is unfortunately on to me and my previous plan failed. As much as I'd hate to admit it…" (sighs deeply) "….you need to give up Jason because he's not useful to me anymore."

Sam: (weird look) "What are you talking about, Helena? Of course, he's useful to you."

Helena: (laughs) "How? He's not Jake Doe anymore. He's officially Jason Morgan again and I can't mind control him the way I did Lucky Spencer."

Sam: (sighs) "H-Helena, of course you can. A plan can work. We just need to create one, one that's good."

(Sam jumps when she's caught off-guard by Elizabeth coming onto the scene)

Liz: "She's right, Sam. The plan wouldn't work, whatever you two thought up." (to Sam) "Jason chose ME, not you. Face the fact that Jason and I love each other." (spits) "You need to admit the fact that Jason doesn't love you anymore."

(Sam shakes her head profusely and points at her enemy and makes a declaration)

Sam: "No, you're wrong. Jason and I will be together again."

Liz: (sighs) "Sam, just admit that you got defeated. Jason and I are together. I happened to be walking by and I'm glad I did. It sounds like you needed a reality check."

(This time, all three women are shocked to see Jason walk up to them)

Jason: "Good, all three of you are here together."

(Sam rushes to her ex and as she's looking at him, she points to Elizabeth)

Sam: "Tell her, Jason. Tell Elizabeth that you and I are together and that we're in love."

(Jason scoffs incredulously! Wow! What kind of person does Sam think she is? He was really starting to think that she lost her marbles)

Jason: "Sam, give it up. Listen to me carefully. Okay, read my lips. I…do…not…love…you. My heart belongs to Elizabeth. It always did, even when I was an idiot and wouldn't admit it. I just hate it took me this long to face the facts."

(Elizabeth goes to Jason and wants to make sure of his feelings)

Liz: "Jason, I love you. I will always love you. That has never changed and it will never change, no matter what. But, I need to know something. Are you absolutely sure you want to be with me? I don't want to do the same song and dance that we've been doing for years. We've done it too many times and I won't do it to our boys."

(Jason takes Elizabeth's hands into his, rests them to his lips and gently kisses them, before facing his soul-mate)

Jason: "You have always held my heart, baby. Even when I was a fucking idiot and couldn't see what was right in front of me. It's always been you, Elizabeth Imogene Webber. YOU. Sam means no more to me than the mother of my son. There will be times when I'll have to see her, but that's only if something is wrong with Danny. However, I won't let her use Danny has a pawn against us." (shakes his head) "Not happening." (to Sam) "Got it?"

(Sam looks annoyed and faces away from him, as it's clear she doesn't like what she's hearing. Jason faces his girl again)

Jason: (smiles) "Come on. Let's go home to our boys."

(Elizabeth smiles wide and Jason offers her his hand, which she happily accepts. They walk hand in hand away from Sam and Helena. Sam can't stop the pissed off look from happening to see her sworn enemy with the man she loves)

Sam: (exhales deeply in anger) "Damn you, bitch. Damn you to hell."

(Helena walks back onto the scene and can't help the smirk from forming as she speaks into Sam's ear)

Helena: "Admit it, McCall. You lost."
