It was the middle of summer in England. The sky was blue, shining with the clear sun and little clouds in the air. The grass on hills and parks were crisp and green, some being a little brittle from the high heat. People were either headed to the beach or abroad to enjoy themselves. It was midday, as a young man was walking through the park in loose fitted clothes and worn sneakers.
His shirt was about a size too big for him with a pair of jeans that were held up by a worn leather belt that had extra holes made to hold them up. On his nose were a pair of round-framed glasses that just about fit him, he had a mop of messy jet-black hair, shining emerald-green eyes, but under his mop of hair was a scar of a lightning-bolt. This was a young man was Harry Potter. Sixteen years old and on his summer holiday from his school, that he missed being at.
Harry was living with the only family he had left, his mother's sister, her husband and their son. The Dursleys. They were...less than pleasant people to say the least. Well, to tell a fib. Harry didn't just have them as his family. He recently discovered that he had a godfather. His father's best friend. Sirius Black.
Harry went to an empty bench by an abandoned swing-set and sat down. The thought of this discovery made his heart lighter, the discovery of family who wanted him. He wanted to know if his godfather was safe and well. After all, being an escaped prisoner from the highest level of security in the Magical World made it difficult for him to spend the weekends.
Last year... It was terrible.
He had to confront the fact that Sirius was locked away for a crime that he didn't commit, dealing with a hundred vile creatures called 'Dementors' that targeted him as 'collateral damage' in order to get his Godfather. And the revelation that the person who had a hand in killing his parents was free somewhere in England. All in all it wasn't the best time.
He was currently in Little Whinging in Surrey, alone.
He was often alone during these sorts of times. Though he had his friends he could always come into contact with, but there was only so many times letters can convey his actual feelings.
He leaned forwards and sighed heavily. Thinking about the people he desperately wanted to see. "Hermione. Sirius. Ron. I miss you guys." He admitted to himself.
Soon, the sound of shuffling came from a pair of large bushes that were part of the park's decor. And out came a large, shaggy haired, black dog with big grey eyes. It gingerly walked towards him, looking starved but also happy to see him.
Harry double-took as he saw this large black dog. He had only seen it maybe once or twice...but, it had to be. He had to be sure. "S-Sirius?"
He stood up, shock filling him.
The dog remained there, panting a little before it magically transformed into a fully clothed man, he was wearing somewhat loose clothes that hung to his person. A thin-striped pale green jacket, a purple striped button shirt, with a purple waistcoat over that with a brass chain linking it together, dark blue nearly purple trousers and black shoes. He had a sallow, gaunt looking face, wavy brown almost matted hair and dark eyes. "Hello, Harry." Sirius smiled as he saw his godson.
Harry immediately got up and hugged the man in joy, seeing his godfather for the first time in months. "Sirius!" he cheered happily.
Sirius chuckled as he saw and hugged back, patting Harry's back in a fatherly fashion. "I'm sorry I didn't write."
"That doesn't matter. You're here!" Harry smiled. "Why are you here? You're on the run. How's Buckbeak?"
"He's fine." he nodded happily. "So, this is where you're hanging out for your summer."
"It's not Hogwarts, that's for sure." Harry answered.
"And your...Aunt and Uncle. They're around here?" Sirius asked.
"At the house. Dudley's with his 'friends'." Harry explained. "It's really good to see you."
"I see." Sirius nodded and grinned.
Harry looked up at his godfather and began to wonder. "What about the Dementors? Aren't they still hunting you?"
"No, they're not. The Ministry are, but they haven't sent any due to your interventions. 'Dementors Attack Innocent'." Sirius explained, recounting the title of a newspaper.
"I guess that was something then." Harry chuckled awkwardly as the two sat down together.
"I heard Fudge has mud on his face because of it. The bloody fool." Sirius chuckled, thinking about it. "Ah...Still hurts to laugh." He rubbed his cheeks.
"You should come to the house." Harry offered. "Maybe as your dog self, it'll be less strange than me walking with a 'stranger' to the muggles."
"Fine." Sirius said, snickering under his breath. There was a... Light in his eyes a bright mischief that Harry had not seen back in Hogwarts during the climax of last year's events.
Within seconds, Sirius had transformed into that same shaggy black dog, hopped down from the bench and walked with his godson down to his aunt's and uncle's house. The heat of the day was a
little tough for Sirius, but he endured it for this long as they managed to get to Privet Drive.
As Harry and Sirius headed down to the cul-de-sac, Harry felt a little woozy, maybe the heat was getting to him. "I'm alright, it's just hot." He admitted.
"Woof." Sirius barked.
"I know, it must be worse for you." Harry understood, getting back on track as they arrived.
All the houses of this cul-de-sac were essentially the same. All white walled, brown roofed, clear windows with square frame windows. The only difference now was that most of the houses had no cars in their drive, Harry knew that the neighbours had gone down to the beach or gone abroad; so Harry with a black dog? Not going to be noticed.
They walked up the path of a neatly trimmed garden of No. 4 Privet Drive, a car still in the drive and windows shut to keep the A/C on inside. "Here we are." Harry whispered to his godfather.
He opened the door... and his 'dog father' rushed into the house barking!
"What're you doing? Who's there?" A thundering yell roared from inside the living room of the house.
Harry was panicking, wondering why Sirius would start barking! ...Admittedly, it was to put his aunt and uncle on edge; but still!
"Sirius!" Harry hissed as he walked in
THUD!
THUD!
THUD!
"What the devil is going on?" A loud angry voice proclaimed as it stomped towards the hall. It was Harry's uncle. Vernon Dursley. A rotund man with a bushy moustache covering his top lip, thick black hair and a vengeful look to his eyes. He was wearing a pale green shirt and black shorts that barely covered his hefty knees and thick arms, finished with a pair of white socks and black sandals. "Potter! Bringing a dog of all things? In MY house?" His angry face began to turn a deep shade of purple as Harry had become accustom to whenever his uncle was angry.
"Vernon, what's going-Oh my god!" A thin blonde-haired woman, a horsey face, blue eyes, wearing a floral dress with white trim as she got back as she saw her nephew with a snarling black dog with him. "V-Vernon!"
"Petunia, get the exterminator-!" Vernon almost demanded his wife as he reached out for either Harry or the dog, ready to beat him...but was stopped and silenced as the dog morphed into a man and grabbed his wrist.
"Oh, I wouldn't do that if I were you." Sirius smiled confidently as he saw the purple drain from Vernon's face as he was stopped. "Good afternoon." Sirius casually walked through the house, sitting in Vernon's chair "Yes, I AM that Sirius Black. And yes I am magic. I'm also Harry's godfather."
Vernon's moustache was twitching like mad. Hearing that the 'famed murderer' and magic user was in his house. Sitting in his chair. He wanted to explode with rage...but with someone like him there. It seemed like a complete possibility. One wrong move, one wrong word and it would be their own heads. He couldn't let someone like that hurt his son or wife.
"I see my message has gotten through, Dursley." Sirius smiled confidently, before leaning forward from his relaxed position. "Now, I don't want to impose too much, but I've heard from my godson you haven't been the very best you can be in looking after him." Looking at them with his dark eyes. "And let me say this... You knob-heads have pissed me off."
Vernon and Petunia backed up in fear as they saw the murderous intent behind Sirius' eyes, the type of evil glare they would 'see' in criminals that were shown on the evening news.
"From what Harry's told me, you've: malnourished him, locked him under the cupboard for most of his life to sleep. Not to even mention all the physical and mental abuse." Sirius continued as he sat forwards seriously "So... Want to know what's going to happen?"
Vernon stammered as he saw Sirius giving that threat. "Wh-wh-wh-what? What? Will you do?"
"I'll be sticking around the neighbourhood. Keeping an eye out. Hanging out with Harry as often as I can. Let's do a simple deal. You pretend Harry does not exist, and he does the same with you. You don't talk unless you HAVE to, such as checking if he is in the bathroom. He does not have to eat with you. But he doesn't cook for you or do any choirs and you don't have to cook for him. You ignore each other. Just pretend the other group is ghosts living in the same house as you and leave each other alone." Sirius explained before his voice devolved into a growl "Because if I cannot spend time with my godson, or he tells me you have broken this agreement in any way, you will find out why I was in prison for so long."
Vernon grabbed Petunia's hand in worry, as in to protect her. "V-Very well. We'll leave P-Harry alone."
"Awesome!" Sirius cheered. "Oh, and the same goes for your son. Dudley, was it?"
"Yes. I-I'll i-inform Dudley." Petunia gulped nervously as she and Vernon backed off.
"Good." Sirius grinned, clapping "Say, you got any beer? It's been years since I had one. I've missed the taste."
"I-I think there's some." Vernon gulped nervously, the two of them going to the kitchen.
"Thanks." Sirius answered and then relaxed a little. "Harry, why don't you show me around?"
"Okay, I'll show you my room." He answered with a shell shocked expression.
"That sounds great. I hope there's something good for dinner tonight." Sirius commented as Harry showed the house and his room to his godfather.
This was... Insane.
*time skip, days later*
Life for Harry had drastically improved since Sirius had started to live with them. Vernon, Petunia and Dudley had become...afraid. They'd become afraid of Harry, but mostly Sirius. But with their normal summer 'ruined', which was basically treating Harry worse, they had become a bit more palatable
towards their attitude. Sirius was lazing out in the sun in his dog form, relaxing happily while Harry was in the garden. Yeah he still did the gardening, but that was because he found it relaxing. He wasn't that good at it, in his opinion, but he wasn't really into it either.
Sirius stretched out in his dog form and gave a silent yawn, waking from his nap, trotting inside to get a glass of water. Harry smiled as he knew Sirius was looking better than he remembered from last year. 'I wonder if I should tell Ron and Hermione?' He thought, though Sirius asked him not to.
"Ah~. Much better." Sirius commented, having a cold glass of water. "Hey, James is there any-?" He asked before letting slip of Harry's father's name.
"Huh?" Harry blinked. "What was that?"
"I'm sorry, Harry. I got...I just see your dad in you. I was back at his parent's house again." Sirius apologised.
"You thought I was him." Harry nodded in understanding.
"Ah..." Sirius groaned as he sat on a garden chair and ran his hands through his hair. "It's like...I'm back at Hogwarts. James and I hanging out together, getting into trouble. His parents so understanding and kind." He began to explain. "Feeling like I'm, not home...but near enough."
"It's okay. I understand."
"Y-You do?" Sirius stammered.
"Yes, I get it. You miss them. I wish I knew them." Harry responded. "Can I tell you something?"
"Of course." Sirius answered
"Do you remember the night at the lake? With the hundred Dementors?" Harry responded
"How can I forget?" Sirius responded
"That night, my happy thought, it was going to live with you. Living out in the country and way from all of this." Harry admitted.
...
"Heh. I'd love that." Sirius smiled before he began to laugh "Oh god, that just reminded me of a story from when you were... I dunno, a few months?"
"Really? What happened when I was a few months old?" Harry asked, intrigued to know what his godfather had to tell him.
"Okay. So it all started when my cousin came to visit, alongside her daughter Nymphadora Tonks." Sirius began and sat down.
"'Nymphadora'?" Harry repeated, blinking as he heard that. He almost chuckled by that name...almost like it awoke a long forgotten memory inside of him.
"Yeah. You always called her NymNym." Sirius chuckled "She loved you like a teddie bear and tried to steal you away with her a few times."
"'NymNym'?" Hary asked, almost laughing at that name...recalling some innocent joy coming from it. "...D-Did I dream this or was it real? She had...wolf ears and a tail? I can't remember if-"
Sirius gave a hearty laugh as he recalled that. "She did that. She did that in order to steal you away. She's a Metamorphmagus."
"A what?"
"Oh dear. Err...Do you know what Polyjuice Potion is?" Sirius asked
"Regrettably yes. I know what that is...Second year." Harry winced gently...but then chuckled sheepishly.
Sirius chuckled, face-palming gently and shook his head. "Well...She's like that. Only she was born with it. She can change her appearance at will. Long or short hair; pink, blue or blonde hair. Appear as an animal, not fully but... Their only limit is their strength of will to transform." He began to explain.
"That sounds amazing. Does it hurt her?" Harry asked
"Not at all, when I asked she said it was like putting on a costume." Sirius reassured. "No Polyjuice Potion groans."
"Ah... So she's the reasons I had those weird dreams of a girl barking at my family and stealing me away from here when I was a kid?" Harry asked.
"You had a fan even before you were famous." Sirius nodded. "She was too young to understand how the Fidelius Charm worked, that's why she couldn't 'steal you away'."
"Wait...The Fidelius Charm?" Harry asked "That's the one where you become a 'Secret Keeper'. The one that-"
Sirius nodded in response. "That spell is incredibly difficult, but it's a bloody god-send for those who wish to be protected. But it requires a powerful wizard to use it."
"I remember." Harry nodded. "There's got to be a better way though."
"If only someone could figure that out." Sirius agreed.
...
"You know... I'm gonna be spending this holiday teaching you, kid." Sirius chuckled
"You teaching me magic? But what about the Magic Law? 'No unauthorised magic for anyone under seventeen." Harry answered.
"Harry, you're sixteen this year, it's still August." Sirius rebutted. "But that wasn't what I meant. Harry, you are a Marauder's son! You have some much needed training that you are behind on!"
"You're giving too much praise, Sirus." Harry responded.
"...One hundred. Dementors." Sirius repeated as he saw his godson almost berate himself. "But I'm talking about the Marauder way! THOSE are the lessons you need to learn"
Harry blinked and then the light of the sun caught his glasses to cover his eyes. "'I solemnly swear, that I am up to no good'." Harry repeated the words to activate a special piece of parchment. And he grinned, he was willing to learn.
*Time Skip*
We arrive at a castle. Hidden from the eyes of muggles and other non-magic folk, astride a large lake and deep thick forest. This was Hogwarts, School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The first school of magic in Britain...in fact the only school of magic in Britain.
Terrifying events happened beforehand, the Quidditch World Cup was attacked by a terrifying group of people called 'Death Eaters', the followers of the Dark Wizard Voldemort; thought to be locked away or fully disbanded over a decade ago. But they had returned, striking fear into the hearts of the Wizarding World. But there was a place they couldn't enter; Hogwarts. The safest place in the world.
"It's good to be back." Harry smiled while seeing the castle, walking through the large reinforced doors and headed into the Great Hall where a feast was prepared. He was wearing black robes, with the school's crest on the front.
"I know, I was scared that the school would have to be shut down." A brown wavy-haired girl with soft brown eyes, wearing similar black robes, C-Cup breasts underneath a smart shirt and black jeans. She seemed to be a little older than Harry, but still close to his age, maybe seventeen.
"Oh; a year without school? Sounds terrible, Hermione." A young man joked with a sarcastic tone to his voice. He had medium length red hair and green eyes, about seventeen; wearing the similar robes as Harry and Hermione; but he had blue jeans underneath his robes.
"Good to see that your resolve hasn't been shaken, Ron." Hermione frowned at his comment.
Harry sighed with a smile, these were his friends. The first ones he had since joining Hogwarts.
"I can't believe that all that happened." Hermione admitted, thinking about what happened at the Quidditch World Cup.
"I know, it's bloody crazy." Ron agreed.
"Death Eaters...after all this time?" Harry asked
"Yes, but why?" Ron added.
"I wish I knew, but all this seems too coincidental." Hermione followed up
"Part of me hopes it is something like 'they were drunk'." Harry voiced
"'Drunk'? Who acts like mass murderers when drunk?" Ron commented
"No, I mean they obviously WERE Death Eaters." Harry commented "However... I HOPE that the guys who attacked the World Cup where 'Ex' Death Eaters who where just drunk and decided to relive their 'glory days', instead of this being part of some big plot."
"Right...gotcha." Ron sheepishly responded and scratched his nose, all while Hermione sighed.
"Well, we can only hope. But I'm glad that the summer went well for you, Harry." Hermione added.
"Yeah." Harry smiled as the group sat down
"I still can't believe he found you." Ron admitted, being careful what to say.
"To be fair, I haven't moved." Harry answered, stating the obvious.
"That's true." Hermione nodded. "But is he going to be okay at your Aunt and Uncles?"
"He's headed to London. He has a safe-place there." Harry answered "His family home, apparently."
"...That's good. Right?" Ron responded. "He's home again?"
"Err...I saw it. It's...it looks like how my aunt and uncle act." Harry answered.
...
Chills up Hermione's and Ron's spines.
Mainly Hermione's, Ron beginning to grab his food.
"This summer, we're going to give it a lick of paint or sell it. It'll be fine." Harry answered.
He sat next to Hermione, the two seeing Ron shovel food into his mouth.
"I'm sure things will be fine." Hermione reassured him.
"I think so too. It's just nice to not have to deal with my Aunt and Uncle being themselves around me." Harry sighed with a smile, looking at her.
"Hey Harry." a trio of voices greeted him
Walking towards them were a trio of beautiful witches; all from Gryffindor and all from the Quidditch team.
"Hi girls, how was your summer?" Harry turned to the witches.
Alicia Spinnet, a black-braided-haired girl with brown eyes, soft tanned skin, wearing a black robe, flat black shoes and had C-Cup breasts that were covered by her shirt and blue jeans.
Angelina Johnson, a beautiful chocolate-brown skinned girl, shoulder length brown hair, D-Cup breasts, slender and soft features, wearing the school's uniform robes.
And finally, Katie Bell, short brown hair that looked a little untidy but kept mostly straight, brown eyes, C-Cup breasts over a black jumper and white shirt with a Gryffindor colour striped tie, black trousers and shoes.
"Pretty well, thanks." Angelina answered. "Terrible shock what happened at the QWC."
The three quickly took turns, each planting a quick kiss to Harry's cheek in a friendly greeting, before the three hugged him like he was a teddy bear.
"Were those assholes feeding you properly?" Katie asked, almost sounding like a mama bear
"I. Yes. Actually. Things are looking up." Harry admitted, still blushing that they did this little 'ritual' every time they met up after the holidays.
They were like three big sisters for him after all.
"That's actually great to hear." Alicia answered. "I guess things are looking up for you back home."
"We've actually gotten some ideas for this year's Quidditch matches." Angelina added.
"Really? Awesome. Can't wait to practice." Harry responded
"You're gonna knock'em off when you're on that Firebolt of yours." Katie finished.
"Hey." Harry crossed his fingers. "Here's hoping."
"You three seem to be happy." Hermione furrowed her brow.
"Sorry, Hermione." Katie apologised. "How're you?"
"I'm alright, just...a lot's happened." Hermione responded, becoming less 'frustrated'; she had known about them since their first year, they're good friends of Harry...though it was a little awkward.
"Hmm. You three." Ron commented, almost gulping down large pieces of food between each word. "Always do that."
"You've never complained before, Ron." Alicia answered
Ron shrugged and mumbled with his mouth filled, grumbling about something. Not that most of the table could understand either.
"Ew." the girls muttered.
"In any case, it's good to see you again." Harry answered, letting them go. "Maybe we'll have good weather this year."
"Hopefully." Angelina nodded "Playing in the rain is terrible."
"Oh yeah, you're captain this year aren't you Angelina?" Harry blinked "What, with Wood graduating last year... I'm gonna miss him."
"Hey, we'll make this one for him." Katie reassured, patting his shoulder.
She was a year older than Harry. They would be in this together for a while. Angelina and Alicia where graduating next year, as well as Fred and George. She and Harry would be together for Harry's sixth year, her last year, with one of them as Captain... and then he'd be all alone for his final year
'God...Only two years left.' He thought in realisation.
"We'll see you at the dorm, okay?" Alicia followed up as they went down the table, waving goodbye.
"Ha! I win!" a voice called from the other side of the hall, making everyone including the Chasers to turn and look at the commotion
It was the Ravenclaw table... where what looked like a chess tournament was going on
"Good game." One of the Ravenclaws shook hands with their opponent.
"What's going on?" Harry asked
"Wizards Chess, by the look of it." Hermione answered, getting up as they wanted to go over.
"Hmm!" Ron gulped and smiled. "Let's have a go."
"You sure you can manage it between meals?" Hermione snarkily remarked.
Ron ignored her and rushed over.
"What's going on, guys?" Harry asked politely.
"Small chess tournament." One of the Ravenclaw students explained, it was a black haired and brown eyed young woman, about Harry's age, half-Chinese with soft features and a small flower-pattern hairclip in her hair. "Small stakes."
"What're the stakes?" Hermione asked
"BLEH! Oh god! Sawdust!" The loser of the chess-match groaned after eating a sweet, making himself laugh and the others chuckle.
"Bertie Botts." The girl answered.
"Ah." Harry nodded. "You're Sue Li, right?"
"Yes, that's right." Sue smiled in response.
"Who's next?" The Ravenclaw student asked
"That would be me." a confident and powerful female voice commented, the sound of heels clicking while everyone's voices caught in their throats for a moment.
The Ravenclaws gasped as they saw who was walking up towards them. A long blonde-haired, green-eye, Slytherin girl. A little taller than Hermione; a bit bustier than her, probably a D-Cup, wearing the black jumper and trousers of the school issued uniform.
"Daphne Greengrass?" The current winner of the chess tournament asked in shock.
"The one and only. Is there any reason I can't?" Daphne asked with a small twirl of her hair with her fingers.
She sat down, her long legs crossing "Is this a Ravenclaw exclusive tournament?"
"N-No." they shook his head.
"Good." Daphne said, her tone taking a slightly icy tone while her eyes looked almost... cold "Then I'd say it is time to claim victory." she said with passion despite giving off the aura of an Arctic wind.
"She can be really scary when she's serious." A random Ravenclaw whispered.
"So competitive." another nodded.
"You may be white. First move is yours." Daphne offered.
"Thank you." The student answered nervously, as they made the first move.
Daphne smiled as she made her own move.
Time ticked by and you could call it a blood bath.
Daphne was the queen of the chess match. Literally.
For almost three pieces she had, the Ravenclaw student had one.
"Checkmate." Daphne smiled confidently as she had dominated the match and everyone was silent in wonder after seeing the domination that had happened in front of them.
"Well... For my bean." the guy said sadly as he pulled out a bean from the packet.
He gulped before eating it...and...
"Hmm...Strawberry ripple." The student commented making everyone laugh.
"Nicely done, Greengrass." Harry nodded.
"Thank you, Potter. Care to play, or are you just an observer?" Daphne coyly teased.
"Sorry, not a fan of my ass being kicked." Harry joked, although he did blush a bit from her tone
"Too bad. I think it would be a good look." she smirked coyly.
"Mmm!" Hermione hissed with a small blush.
Meanwhile the Chaser Trio frowned a bit at that as well.
"Harry! How can you compliment a fucking snake?!" Ron snapped.
"Ron, I wasn't. It's sportsmanship." Harry sighed, trying to explain. "I don't see the point in complaining because, let's be fair, it's not worth it."
"What's wrong Weasley, pissed you can't always have your way?" Daphne mocked
Suddenly a bell filled the air, classes where starting soon
"Darn. I was about to challenge you." she huffed and stood up, flicking her hair back "Oh well."
"Oh, it's frigging on when I see that bitch again!" Ron hissed, before Hermione huffed and walked away.
"Boys." She sighed.
"What? What did I do?" Harry asked as he followed.
*time skip*
"Ah! I've missed these beds." Harry sighed gently, relaxing in his Gryffindor beds.
"Howyas, Harry." An Irish young man spoke, walking to him.
"Hey, Seamus." Harry smiled, seeing his fellow Gryffindor.
"Crazy morning, right?" He asked
"Definitely." Harry responded
"That Greengrass girl. Shock that she's not in Ravenclaw with brains like that." Seamus commented
"Well... cunning can also mean strategic, it's where Ravenclaw and Slytherin cross roads." he shrugged.
"Yeah, I guess that makes sense. I wonder if there's anyone who can beat her at her own game?" Seamus admitted.
"Maybe, maybe not. You know?" Harry answered.
"Ron seemed to blow up a little, back at the Great Hall." Seamus commented
Harry gave a small chuckle. "Coming from you, that's something, Seamus."
"Hey!" He gasped and laughed.
*In the Slytherin Girl's Dorm*
Daphne hummed as she brushed her hair.
She was getting ready for bed as another girl approached her, reflected in the mirror so Daphne could see her. "Hi, Tracey."
The woman in the mirror had short wavy black hair, blue eyes, a pointed nose, C-Cup breasts and wearing a nightgown with the Slytherin crest on it. "You were showing off again, Daphne."
"Is that so wrong?" Daphne pouted as she turned around looking at the girl.
Tracey looked at her with a stern look...before she cracked a smile and sat down next to her. "Nah. Just shows who's smarter. You kicked ass out there."
"Thanks." she said confidently. "Gotta admit, I was shocked Potter complimented me however."
"Wait. Seriously? I thought he hated Slytherin House." Tracey responded, blinking in shock.
"I thought so too. But...Maybe it's just at Quidditch? Or Draco. Either's possible." Daphne answered. "He was...very kind."
"Huh. That's cool." Tracey nodded "... Doesn't he look better than ever this year?"
"He doesn't look as gangly this year, I admit." Daphne blushed a little. "Like...He's gotten a bit 'fuller'."
"Yeah!" Tracey laughed a bit.
Daphne twisted the end of her hair a little, looking at the brush. "D-Do you think he'll talk to me again?"
"Daphne! What're you saying?" Tracey asked with a gasp, making it sound like Daphne had said something scandalous.
"What?"
"You're not crushing on him; are you?" Tracey asked.
"What? No! I'm just. It's just nice talking to people." Daphne answered. "People avoid me since I'm apparently the 'hottest girl in the year' and the whole 'Ice Queen' thing."
"Yeah, that's true. Brains and beauty. You've got it all." Tracey nodded and agreed. "Well, I guess having someone outside of our House is okay. Just don't let Draco catch wind."
"I don't care what that ponce thinks." she scoffed "My family is just as wealthy and influential as his, we just don't throw our weight around like his."
"Alright, alright. I'm just looking out for you." Tracey responded.
"I know. And thanks." Daphne responded.
"I just have one thing I want to ask." Tracey questioned
"Oh yeah? What is it?" Daphne asked
BOING!
"These! When did these come in?" Tracey responded, groping Daphne's chest playfully. "We were the same last year!"
"Tracey! Let go~!" Daphne whined
"C'mon, tell me." Tracey teased as she released and quickly got behind her and began to play with Daphne's shirt.
"Tracey~!"
"Will you lesbo's shut up?" a pissed off girl from the other free bed grumbled.
It was a black haired girl with a scowling face, glaring at the two; covering herself with her quilt trying to get some sleep.
"Sheesh, sorry for having fun, Pansy." Tracey rolled her eyes.
"Yeah, and you're being fucking loud. I need sleep." she shot back
*at the Gryffindor girls dorm*
"That harlot!" Hermione huffed
"Which harlot?" A brown haired girl asked as Hermione lay on her bed.
"That. That Greengrass girl." Hermione answered. "She's...urgh!"
"I...guess I can see where you're coming from?" The brown haired girl responded. The girl in question had chin-length brown-hair, pale blue eyes, C/D-Cup breasts covered by light pink pyjamas. "Why're you so rattled?"
"Did you not see how that harlot acted towards Harry?!"
"Okay, Hermione...Aren't you taking this a little too far?" The girl asked
"Lavender. It's not going too far." Hermione debated. "That is Daphne Greengrass, the hottest girl in the year!"
Lavender sighed as she heard that. "Are you jealous?"
"What? Jealous?" Hermione double-took. "Of her?"
"Girls, what's going on?" An Indian-British girl asked, she had black hair, naturally tanned skin, brown eyes, C-Cup breasts and wearing red pyjamas.
"Hermione is jealous of Greengrass potentially stealing Potter from her." Lavender Brown responded.
"Lavender!" Hermione blushed, covering herself.
"Wait, really? You like Harry?" The other girl responded.
"Pavarti. It-it's not like that! She's just-just-!" Hermione tried to answer, her muffled voice still coming out.
"Mione, we have all seen how you look at him and have looked since first year. Do you remember last year where you had that vendetta against Cho Chang because we found out Harry had a crush on her?"
Hermione went quiet, she was caught out. Yes. She had a crush on Harry. She couldn't talk her way out of this. Her feelings were found out. For a while, apparently. "...I like him." She admitted, hugging her pillow. "Okay? I like Harry."
"We know." Lavender rolled her eyes "Again, if you don't do something about it someone else will take him."
"But...Isn't it weird to date your best friend?" Hermione asked. "If you break up, doesn't that ruin everything?"
"Hermione, why wouldn't you date your best friend?" Pavarti responded
"Huh?"
"I mean, you've known Harry since first year. You hang out all the time and you complement each other. Harry's intuition with your brains...you just seem to connect." Pavarti explained. "So what if your best friends; shouldn't that just make it better and easier?"
Hermione mumbled as she began to buckle under the logic. "I...I guess you're right. But when should I tell him?"
...
And she got two pillows to the face.
"Hey!" She snapped at them.
"For someone so smart you're a bit oblivious." Lavender rolled her eyes.
"I'm not used to this sort of situation!" Hermione grabbed the spare pillow and threw it back at Lavender.
"Oh, it's on Granger!" Lavender called
And the greatest pillow war ever, began.
*elsewhere*
We arrive in London, going along the paved roads going through the streets, the tall lamp-posts and cars, we arrive at a long line of houses. Nestled in the Borough of Islington.
Going past numbers one, two, three. So on and so forth...until we arrive at number eleven...and thirteen? That can't be right. Well, actually. There is a hidden place here. Unplottable and hidden from the Muggle World.
Number Twelve Grimmauld Place.
White walled at the bottom floor, guarded by an iron fence and gate, long vertical windows on the second floor, with two smaller rectangular windows above them, giving an outer appearance of a four floor home. The curtains were covering the interior from prying eyes.
As we travel inwards from the quiet and humble road...we hear a screeching match between Sirius and a woman's voice.
"I'm gonna KILL you, Sirius!" The woman yelled, chasing Sirius, who had now switched into much tidier clothes.
"Now, now; Tonks. I did it all in good-" Sirius tried to explain, but had to duck. Why?
SMASH!
...That. The woman had thrown a cookie jar lid at him.
Who was threw said lid at him was a bubble-gum pink haired woman, wearing a black jacket with silver studs, blue jeans, and black boots, looking to be a few years younger than Sirius.
In the corner of the kitchen room was an older gentleman, about Sirius' age, brown haired with grey flecks, a brown moustache and chin-beard, green eyes, some claw scars over his face, wearing a tweed suit, a dark red tie and tartan green and yellow button shirt with tweed trousers and brown flat shoes. He was sitting quite comfortably, sipping tea with a Rich Tea biscuit on a small plate with a smile on his face.
"Ah~, delicious." The brown haired man smiled to himself.
"Don't try and weasel out of this, Sirius! I can't believe that you told him! All of that happened in privacy!" Tonks snapped, having a bright red blush on her face, using her wand to shoot at Sirius.
Sirius ducked down under the table and seemed to have disappeared.
"Where'd you go; you damn mutt!" Tonks shouted, running to his side of the table and saw the blur of a shaggy black dog.
"There you are, you bastard!" she roared and jumped at the dog.
The dog barked and rushed off, Tonks hitting the table and breaking it under her momentum and force
"Heen!" Sirius, as the black dog, yelped as he was caught, struggling to get out of Tonks' grasp before turning back. "Remus! Help! Tag in!"
"Sorry, Sirius. I solemnly swear that I'm up to no good." The man now revealed as 'Remus', answered with a smirk.
"Oh, you bast-ack!" Sirius gagged as he was tapping out.
"I'm going to kill you, Sirius! God! I can't believe you told Harry!" Tonks throttled him.
"Why are you so upset about it?!"
"None of your-!" Tonks began to snap, before Remus spoke up.
"I think our young Nymphadora still has feelings for your godson, Sirius." Remus chuckled, making Tonks loosen up on her cousin.
FLASH!
"Don't! Call me! Nymphadora!" Tonks hissed, pointing her wand at Lupin.
"Argh! Hnn. Duly noted." Remus apologised and groaned, going arse over tea-kettle from his seat.
"You. You still have feelings for Harry?" Sirius groaned, rubbing his throat. "Why didn't you say?" He coughed a bit, shaking his head a bit. "Heck, you were in your last year when he started first year weren't you? Why didn't you speak to him and tell him this then?"
Tonks lowered her wand and shook as she stood there. "I...I didn't know. If he'd remember me. The last time we met...he was only a baby. What would I even say to him? Hi, I'm Tonks. I knew you when you were a baby; want to hang out?" She hugged herself, clicking her tongue a bit "He'd think I was lying or a weirdo. Heck, I thought he was happy wherever he was staying and that's why they never got in contact with us. Plus, age gap and all that."
Sirius looked at Remus, who had just gotten up, and then at Tonks. "Dora. Take a seat. I need to tell you something. No jokes. No tricks. All the truth." He spoke, as Remus fixed the table with his magic.
"Okay?" she asked with a raised eyebrow and did so.
Sirius took a deep breath as he sat down in his chair and slowly exhaled to clear his head. "The reason Harry didn't come live with us, was more than just Pettigrew framing me. His mother's sister and brother-in-law, they took him in."
"So you've told me, I can't believe that the rat is still alive. From what you've said he sounded like a complete coward." Tonks responded
"He is. If it wasn't for Harry, we would've killed him." Remus agreed.
"But what does that have to do with his Aunt and Uncle?" She questioned.
"The Dursleys...abused him. Denied telling him anything about his parents. No magic, no freedom. Treated him like dog-shit all his life. Not even a person, just 'something that was there'." Sirius frowned, explaining what Harry had told him and how he was treated. "I don't want to make you feel guilty... but honestly knowing he had family, someone who cared so deeply for him, in his first year would have helped both of you."
Tonks almost fell out of her chair. She had no clue. No idea. "H-How could they-?"
"Harry told me that, they loathe magic. Anything that is considered 'abnormal', they shut down and deny. All the little things Harry did as a child and he didn't understand, he was punished for. One time he accidentally made the glass pane of a snake exhibit disappear and made his cousin fall in, before the pane was back. He was kicked and shoved into his tiny cupboard under the stairs without food for a fortnight." Sirius frowned. "Tonks...He couldn't have told us, because he had zero chance in communicating with us."
"Oh my god." she whispered in horror, putting her face in her hands
Sirius frowned and put his hands on her shoulders. "But. But he has us now. He knows the truth about me. He knows about you. Sure, it was back when he was a baby and you were younger. But he was happy to know that he had more than those monsters he calls his Aunt and Uncle." He looked into her face, past her hands. "Trust me, when we talk again, you can tell him about yourself."
"Well... I know one thing. When I go to Hogwarts next month, I am keeping a close eye on him. And if I get a chance, I might drag him to my old broom closet." Tonks grumbled
"I am surprised you still have a crush on him since you last saw him as a baby." Remus commented
"Look! He was adorable! He called me pretty! I made that stupid promise about marrying him when we were older! And I had been single since fifth year! Excuse me for being weird!" Tonks snapped
Sirius chuckled and patted her head. "It'd be nice if Harry had you as his girlfriend, Tonks. You'd be very good for him."
...
"Wait, why are you going to Hogwarts in a month?" the Marauder's asked at the same time
*Hogwarts, the next day*
"Hmmm~ That was a good sleep!" Harry stretched as he and Hermione walked through the halls "Hey, have you seen Ron this morning?"
"No, not yet." she shook her head
"He was gone before any of us woke up. It is weird." Harry shrugged
"It's definitely unlike him." She pondered, before she looked at him. "...Harry."
"Yeah, Hermione?" He asked, looking at her before he put his glasses on.
He made sure they where clean, the two approaching the Grand Hall's doors.
"I was. I was just wondering if-" She began to get her courage, before they entered the Great Hall...and saw a large gathering of students with a banner saying:
GRYFFINDOR VS SLYTHERIN CHESS TOURNAMENT!
It was...definitely an unusual sight.
"What the bloody hell?" Harry blinked.
"Guys, this is-Ron's gone stupid again." A brown haired boy commented, he was tall and had light coloured eyes. He was a fellow Gryffindor that was a good friend to the trio.
"Neville, calm down. What's Ron done?" Harry asked in confusion.
"All... this!" Neville waved his arms around "He said he was apparently down here almost all night getting it all ready for some reason!"
"What a plonker." Hermione sighed "Let's just sit down, have breakfast and hope this doesn't cost us too many points."
"Two things. One, did you just use the word 'plonker'? And two, Snape is probably going to dock us points just for being here." Harry sighed heavily.
"W-What's wrong with that?" she stuttered, walking towards the Gryffindor table.
"Nothing's wrong. It's just a surprise to hear you say that." Harry explained as they sat down for some toast and cereal.
The two sat down in their normal spots opposite each other... next to a LARGE chess board.
"Wow, it's real big. Huh, Harry?" Alicia blinked as she and the other Chaser's sat next to the two.
"Yeah, definitely. What's Ron thinking?" Harry frowned as he saw this whole dog and pony show.
"Wounded pride?" Angelina responded
"Yeah, sounds like it." Katie nodded
Harry reached for his cup... and two arms wrapped around his neck suddenly, breasts against the back of his head.
"Hey Harry~!" Lavender cheered softly.
"Hi-llo!" Harry froze as he felt this sensation. "Um. Hi, Lavender."
Hermione gasped and huffed as she couldn't get out what she wanted to say to him.
"Sleep well?" She asked.
"Yeah. Err. Kinda...Hugging a little too close." Harry admitted, his glasses fogging up.
Lavender didn't respond and instead gave Hermione a look. A simple look, but a look that said 'Tell him or someone else will be doing this'
"Where is she?" Ron hissed as he suddenly sat down.
"Where's who?" Hermione and Harry asked
"That fucking snake." Ron responded angrily.
"Daphne?" Harry questioned.
"She's probably in her dorm getting ready." Hermione responded, wanting Ron to leave and talk to Harry. "Why did you set this up here?" she added
"Home field advantage." Ron answered simply.
...
"It's the same table!" Hermione and Harry deadpanned.
The door suddenly opened as Daphne walked in.
"Good mor...what is this?" She spoke to her fellow Slytherins, before she saw the large banner.
"Greengrass!" Ron stood up, going to her.
"Ron, please don't." Harry asked, Lavender still hugging around his neck.
"It is game time, Snake!" Ron called.
"...I must be half-asleep. What is going on?" Daphne asked, rubbing her eyes. "I haven't had my morning juice."
"You. Me. Chess match. Right now." Ron pointed at her.
"He is... so embarrassing." Hermione muttered
"Tell us about it." a pair of voices said from behind them
"Oh, hey Padma." Harry spoke as he passed Lavender a glass of orange juice so he could slip out of the hug.
Standing next to Pavarti was an identical girl, long brown hair and tanned skin, wearing a Ravenclaw uniform and had a braid in her hair. D-Cup chest but a smaller posterior. Padma Patil, Pavarti's twin sister.
"You want a match, Weasley? Fine. We'll have a match." Daphne answered. "Loser has to leave the winner alone."
She sat down opposite Ron, noticing the pieces where red and green instead of the normal white and black.
"How very apt, Weasley. Special order?" Daphne snarked.
"Colour change charm." He answered confidently.
"Aren't you getting better in lessons." She rolled her eyes. She sat down and crossed her legs, flipping her hair back, and starting making herself a cup of tea.
"Call it." Ron pulled a coin from his pocket. "Heads or Tails?"
"How do I know that isn't charmed?" Daphne asked
"Don't you trust me?" Ron glared.
"No. You can go first." she responded, stirring her tea
"This is gonna end badly." A pair of red haired boys spoke up, it was Ron's older twin brothers: Fred and George, the resident pranksters of the school.
"Let's start." The two spoke.
"Pawn to E4." Ron spoke confidently as they began their game.
