The next two weeks were crazy. Emily came down to spend those two weeks with her best friend to help her get ready for her big day. Emily was engaged to her prince and he was coming down too for the wedding. Drew had his best friends who were his family from Boston and the Navy.
Emily helped Liz find the dress that she always wanted. The dress that she had was something that she loved, but it was from another time. It was going to be what she wore to getting married to another man. A man she thought she loved but realized did not love her as much as he loved her sister.
The dress was something that looked like it came especially made for her. Liz is a beautiful, petite brunette with long curls that sometimes had a mind of its own. She saw the gown that she wanted and when the sales assistant helped her try it on, she knew it was meant to be. It was the first dress and it was the only dress that she found that she truly loved. She tried on eight more dresses, but the first one was it.
They had spent a couple of days finding the perfect gift for the man she was about to marry and Em was helping Liz write her vows. Then Liz could help her when she got married to her prince. Ruby, Emily and Liz had fun finding the perfect lingerie and bikini for her honeymoon.
It was a week before the wedding when Em planned a perfect bachelorette party. She had asked Ruby who were Liz's best friend at the university. She had heard about a "Bridal Scavenger Hunt". They needed at least six members to play. Ruby had called up Sabrina, Nadine and Robin. They had their team, and everyone was excited. Except Liz because she did not know about it.
The next night the Em had asked Liz to go with her to the gallery. She said that Ruby had something to give her, but she wanted to wait till tonight to give it. Liz was a bit suspicious, but she played along. They went to the gallery and saw that it had closed early for the day. When Liz went inside there were some of her friends from Boston U. She was surprised, but she was about to find out that it was just starting. They had the traditional bridal shower and then Em had a special sash for Liz to wear for the hunt.
"I signed us up for the "Bridal Scavenger Hunt." It will be a lot of fun. It starts in a less than an hour. We need to get to Faneuil Hall." Everyone got together and they made their way to the beginning line. Em went and picked up everything that was needed for the hunt.
The whistle blew and the teams started to go in all different directions. The clues were fun to follow and it made the game so much fun. There were places they had to go and get photographed. The pictures proved that they did whatever they were supposed to get that part done. Liz had to go into different restaurants and bars, find someone who looked like the description on the list and take a picture of them. A few even had her kiss that person.
It was towards the second to the last part of the hunt when she had to go into the bar that was supposed to be the bar used in "Cheers". She went into the bar and asked for "Norm". Then this guy came out of nowhere and she asked him for a photo and kiss. She told him that she needed it for a scavenger hunt game. He smiled and she kissed him while Ruby took the photo.
No one knew it but she had just kissed her future groom. She had been drinking or she would have thought he was Jason. The bar was a bit on the dark side too, but the one thing she did not realize was he had seen her before.
She was ready for the last thing to do and call it a night. They had to sing a song in front of a crowd. The six of them together found a karaoke bar and sang "Addicted to Love". Then they headed to the finish line. They showed them all the photos and were given their souvenirs for the hunt. The six of them had a blast that night. Only two of them would remember everything, not Liz. She had drank enough that she had fun, but some of the things she had to do, she was never going to truly remember, except when she would look at the photos and wonder how she did all those things.
The next day, Ruby went over to Liz's apartment with fresh coffee and bagels. She knew that Liz had drank a little too much, so she was going to help her with the inevitable hangover. Em and Ruby were both shocked that Liz did not actually have a hangover, but she was grateful for the coffee and bagels. The three of them were going to check out the bridesmaids' dresses for the wedding.
Liz was glad that it was not going to be this big huge wedding like her sister Sarah had with Lucky Spencer. She knew about because her grandmother had sent her some of the pictures from it. She loved her grandmother, but Audrey just liked to stick it in a bit about how great her sister is doing, without even asking Elizabeth how she was doing. This was the reason she never invited her family.
The tuxedo shop was down the street from the bridal shop and while Em and Ruby were checking out the gowns, Liz made a phone call to Lila. She had called to tell Lila about the reservations she made for the family at the hotel where she was getting married. They were going to be there for two days before the wedding and leaving the day afterwards when she left on her honeymoon.
Lila thanked her and Liz promised to show her photos from the scavenger hunt and the gowns that were being picked up. Lila told her that she had spoken to Audrey, but she did not want to know anything about her granddaughter. Lila told Liz that it was okay because she thought of Liz as her granddaughter anyway.
Drew went with Curtis and Franco to pick out the tux for Franco. Curtis and Drew were going to be in their naval dress uniforms. Franco found one that looked great on him and there was nothing to tailor. He was happy about that and bought it. He knew that he could wear another time like for one of his gallery showings. The three of them left and went out to eat at one of the more popular Italian restaurants in the North End.
Drew came in there frequently and the waitresses already knew what he wanted to order before he sat down. Franco and Curtis laughed at him because he never tried anything new. Drew sat down and he tried a different pasta then his usual. The beer had always drunk though would not change. They ended their shopping trip by going to see a game at Fenway. This was going to be his last hurrah as a single guy. The bachelor party was low key, because Drew was not into all the strip joints or smoky bars.
Emily and Liz stayed up late into the night watching movies, the sweet mushy type that guys generally do not go for. "Em, you don't know how much I appreciate you helping me. You are my best friend and like a sister to me. Thank you doesn't seem enough."
Emily hugs her best friend. "Just remember that when I drive you crazy when I marry Nik. He is a prince so there is going to be a lot to do and I will need you for a month or two. You can be my indentured servant like I have been for you." Liz hugs her and agrees to her future servant. The next day the family was coming in and they would not get any more peace until after everything was done.
Curtis was gathering up some of their naval buddies. They were going to be coming in the next couple of days. They were also set up at the hotel where the wedding was going to take place.
The next two days were a blur. Everyone had their own thing to get ready for the wedding. Liz just wanted to breathe, but she knew it would be all worth it in the end. She had prayed to find someone to love her and for her to love. She did not know him, but somewhere inside of her she knew that this was the right thing.
Drew was also having the deep thoughts when you are about to get married. He knew that it could be the best thing to happen to him or it could blow up in his face. He just needed a sign. He looked out his window and saw a perfect rainbow forming over Boston Bay. It had rained a little while before then and when the sun came out, it was like everything was clean.
The night before the wedding, Drew and his friends went to his favorite Italian restaurant for his "Bachelor Party". He thought that they were on the dumb side, but after Curtis had gone and reached out to all their friends, how could he say no. The night was filled with fun, laughter and tears. It was just what he needed. He was lucky to have two great friends like he did.
Liz, Emily and the family had decided to go for a nice seafood dinner, the night before the wedding. There were toasts to the bride and groom, even though the groom was not there. They all told their own special stories about Liz. She truly felt honored to have the Quartermaines stand by her that way. They toasted to the young woman who had grown up in front of them. Her family may not think she is special enough, but she knew that she was loved and had a family.
Jason took over to another table to talk to her a few minutes alone. "I want you to be happy. If he ever tries to hurt you, I will be there. I am just a phone call away. We might not have made it work, but you will always be someone special. I love you, Elizabeth! If I could leave this country and not have to worry about someone coming after us, I would take you now. You seem to have the life that you have always wanted, and I am very happy for you. I am also proud of all the hard work that you have done, and I bought a couple of your paintings for my penthouse. I just wanted you to know that."
Elizabeth looked at Jason and could see how much she meant to him. "I have always wanted to be with you, but I know that your life is dangerous. I want you to know that I will always have a place in my heart for you. If it was not for certain people in your life, I might have stayed back in Port Charles. I think that we both are right where we need to be. I just want to see you happy. I love you too, Jason. "
Emily and Liz went back to Liz's apartment. They were both caught up in their own thoughts. Nik had come over too and he was going to be their protection. They said their good nights and went to bed.
The next morning, Lila had someone bring pastries and coffee to the bride to be and her best friends. The wedding was at two and they needed to get there by twelve. That was giving them two hours to get ready.
Lila had another surprise for Elizabeth and Emily for when they got to the hotel. She had someone who was going to give their manicures, pedicures and a facial, before anything else. Emily knew about it and got her to the hotel around eleven instead of twelve.
Lila, Edward, Alan and Monica had come into the bridal suite to check on the bride. Emily had Jason bring Nik down to the wedding. It was about to get crazy in a few minutes. Alan was going to walk Elizabeth down to her awaiting groom.
Drew for some reason was worried about not having his family there. He never met his real family. He was kidnapped at birth and sent to live with his nurse and her adopted son. Then he was sent to foster home to foster home. When he finished school, he went straight into the Navy. The only thing that he was told by his best friend Franco was his mother was murdered and the father did not know he was alive. His mother never knew either.
Franco saw the friends and family that Elizabeth had on her side. He knew that the family was Drew's family. He knew that Drew had a brother that was his identical twin. Franco whispered to Curtis. "Be on standby. This wedding is going to get crazy. Drew is about to meet his true family."
First Drew saw Jason. Then Jason saw Drew. The two looked at each other and the cameras were on both. Drew looked at Curtis and saw that he knew nothing that was going on and then looked at his best friend, Franco. "When this is over, you have a lot of explaining to do." Franco looked at his best friend and put his head down.
Everyone on both sides were sitting down and then they would look at Jason Morgan and then at Andrew Cain. The bridal music started and then the bridesmaids came down the aisle. Ruby and Emily thought it had to be some prank that Jason was putting on them. Lila, Edward and Monica were also in shock seeing Andrew.
Elizabeth and Alan started walking down the aisle. She saw the most gorgeous man standing there in his Naval Uniform. Then she looked at Jason in his black jeans and shirt. She looked like someone who was about to pass out. Elizabeth looked at Alan and then proceeded down to her new husband.
The introductions were made, and the vows were said. Then the bride and groom kissed. It was the best kiss she had ever had. The minister then said; "For the first time as a couple, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Cain."
The pictures were being taken of everyone and the Married at First Sight team was there to see all this happening on tape. Luckily it was not live. Everyone was shocked at what was going on especially the bride and groom. The producers wanted to make sure that the couple and their families were okay. Andrew knew the moment that he saw Elizabeth that she was beautiful. He wanted to just take her and run away. Luckily there were leaving for their honeymoon early the next morning.
Edward saw Drew and he knew that whatever happened, Heather knew something. If Susan knew she had twins, she would have never given one up. He saw Franco and he knew him from somewhere. It was too much, but Lila was happy that she had another grandson, even if he were all grown up and now Elizabeth was officially a member of the family.
Emily and Elizabeth went to see Lila. "We didn't know anything about a twin. He would have been with us the whole time if we did. There is someone who may know and that is Heather Webber. She must have sold Andrew to someone. I will find out so we can all rest. We have a lot to make up for and I am so proud of you for taking this big step. If not for that, we might have never known."
Drew talked to Franco about his mother. "Did your mother buy me? I am really confused because if what everyone is saying is true then why did she put me in foster care when she knew I had a family. I need to talk to her, please?"
Franco looked at his best friend. "I have something even better, but both ladies are a bit off the rocker. The person who sold you, me and my other brother Stephen is Heather Webber. She is at Ferncliff and she is out there. I just found out that she is my real mother and some lawyer, Scott Baldwin is my father. Betsy Frank who brought me up and you till I hurt you is a bit too out of it too. We are lucky that we both still have each other. I just never thought to ask where you came from too. I am sorry about that."
"No need to be sorry. Looks like my wife brought me home to find my family. I did not even know I had. They look nice especially my grandmother Lila. I can see how happy she is about meeting me. I can also tell that even though there is no blood, Lila loves my wife."
"Remember the art gallery the other night. The artist is the woman you just married. She has the art critics in this city wanting everything she has. I even bought a few of her photos. How weird is that. You were too shy to say anything to her then and now you are married to her."
Drew realized that he saw his family that night. He remembered seeing Elizabeth with Emily and Ruby. He is pretty sure that Lila might have been there too. He had bought two of her paintings and realized that the man on the docks by his motorcycle was his twin brother. He felt a bit strange about that, but now he realizes why he was drawn to it.
Jason seemed to be really on edge through everything. He called up Johnny and Francis to find out about as much information about Andrew Cain as they possibly could. To think he had a twin, and no one knew.
The reception was something else. There was so much drama going on and it had only started. Elizabeth introduced Drew to his family. He met his dad and mom. His twin brother and adopted sister. While he saw this, he was sad to see that she had no family there. It was a quite unique situation.
Jason pulled Elizbeth over to talk to her. "I need you to know that if he tries to hurt you in any way, I will protect you. You have always been a great friend and I will always have your back. This has got to be the weirdest wedding that I have ever been too. Just remember that we will always have "Nowhere"."
Elizabeth laughed at that. She walked back to her new husband. He was so handsome in his naval uniform, but she could not wait to see him out of it. That kiss just proved to her that she finally did the right thing when it came to her life. She knew that her days were numbered in Boston if the Quartermaines had anything to do with it. She just prayed that her and her new husband would be able to take all the craziness that the show and his new family will bring them.
"I have to warn you about your family. They love deeply but they also fight deeply too. It is going to be different going back there when everyone will meet you for the first time. I don't have that problem, because my family there in Port Charles is the family you just found out about."
Dr. Miller and Pastor Smith were there to see if the young couple needed any help. When they saw they were in good hands, Dr. Miller gave the couple the information about their honeymoon. When they left the reception, they would be in the bridal suite at the hotel. The next morning there would be a car that would take them to the Logan and off for their honeymoon. They would be gone for two weeks. When they came back, the producers had an apartment that they would be staying at for the next two months. Then it would be decision time. There would be times when they would meet with Dr. Miller and Pastor Smith.
The wedding was great. Drew had started to feel like he truly belonged somewhere. He felt it in the Navy, but not since then. He saw Elizabeth and fell for her immediately. It was like she was dropped down from heaven for just him. He wanted to make her happy because that would make him happy.
The two of them cut the cake and Liz threw her bouquet. She was so ready to leave and go upstairs to their bridal suite. Monica, Lila and Emily went to talk to Elizabeth while the men went to talk to Drew.
"I am not sure how you do it, but you brought home someone we didn't even know we were missing. It is like fate is being played here today. Drew is your husband and he looks like he is Jason's twin. I know that you have a honeymoon to go too, but we are hoping that when you get back, that you can bring him to Port Charles so he can see all of us again."
"Lila, I know that he will have questions and when he is ready, I will be there to support him. This is something that I was not expecting, and I am sure he was not either. Just pray for us that we will find out what we need and that we can build from it."
Lila, Monica, Ruby and Emily hugged Elizabeth. Nik came over and hugged his best friend. She saw her husband heading her way. Drew picked her up and carried her out of the reception room and into the elevator. They were staying in the bridal suite in the heart of the city. It was like the strangest dream to her. She is married to the man who is the twin to man she has been trying to forget since high school. They could not even be fraternal twins; no, they were identical.
"Okay. I need to say something now before you find out about it later. We are married now, and I do not want to have this between us later. I dated your twin brother Jason when I was just out of high school and on my way here to Boston. There are too many obstacles there for me to want to go back there except for an occasional visit. I never in my wildest dreams would think that I would have to say anything like this."
Drew laughed and it warmed her heart. "I can understand how all of this is very new and strange. Thank you for telling me, just don't call me Jason while we are in bed." He looks deep into her eyes and she was gone. He picked her chin up so she was looking right into his beautiful blue eyes. He came down and kissed her deeply. There was a strong attraction for the two of them and they were unsure how the other felt. There was champagne and fresh fruit for them, but the thing that Elizabeth loved the most was the view from their balcony.
Elizabeth walked outside and they were high enough that she could see the harbor and the boats. She looked up to the sky and she knew that her grandfather was watching over her. Drew came up behind her and put his arms around her. "This is beautiful sight, but the only thing I see is you. I know I sound corny, but when my friends talked me into this married at first sight, I thought why they would think I needed something like that. Now, I know it is because of you. I am terrible when it comes to asking women out. I have fought for our great country. I have never been afraid in battle, but talking to a beautiful young woman like yourself, I would never get two words out. I think that is why I decided to do this. I wanted to meet someone who is kind, compassionate and loves to travel. You just seem to fit everything I want and need. Then there is the chemistry. When we kissed, I could feel it."
Elizabeth turned around and pulled him into a deep kiss. The two of them went back into the bridal suite. Drew ordered up some dinner since the two of them did not really eat much. Elizabeth told him stories about his new family. She told him about his two brothers and their adopted sister. Emily is her best friend and that is how she met the crazy family that is really hers now that she is married to Drew.
Drew told her about living with Franco and that something happened, but he could not remember and then he was sent to foster care. "Okay. This is going to sound crazy but did Jason play quarterback in high school for Port Charles High. I think that I met him once and that I saw him as this ghost. Like he was not real, because he was so good. When I looked at him, I felt like I was looking at myself, but wishing I were him. I know a bit weird, but I was so alone at that time.
"I understand that better than you think. I moved from Boulder to Port Charles shortly after he would have been in high school. My grandmother, Audrey lived there and when my parents left for Doctors without Borders my sister was left at in Port Charles. My parents left me home alone with no money or way to get to Port Charles. I remember where my dad would hide money from my mother, and I prayed he left it there for me. He did and I used that money to get to Port Charles. My grandmother was not happy, but she took me in. I have not seen any of my family since I moved to Boston. I was lucky that Emily and I had become such good friends. Her family basically adopted me and your grandmother, Lila is who helped me get into Boston University."
Drew helped Elizabeth out of her wedding gown so she could change for the night. She had a cute, but sexy nightie. It was red and left very little to the imagination. Drew got to his boxers. The two of them cuddled and fell fast asleep.
