The phone rang for their wake-up call. The two of them got dressed and went down to the restaurant to have something to eat. The family was still there, and they met the newlyweds for breakfast before they left on their honeymoon. Lila and Edward were happy to see how good the two of them looked. Jason had a scowl on his face and Emily laughed at him. "She could have been your wife if you listened to what she really wanted instead of listening to "Dumb and Dumber". I know that you believe you owe Carly and Sonny your life, but you are wrong. They have been using you for years and I hope that someday you will forget about being their lapdog and find someone that makes you feel alive. I just want you to be happy."
Drew thanked his family for seeing them off. "We will be gone for two weeks to Sandals in Jamica. I am sure that Elizabeth will be keeping the family included with everything since she and Emily are best friends. She loves you all and I know that soon I will be feeling the same way too."
Drew and Elizabeth said goodbye to their family and friends. They were now on their way to Logan International Airport. They will fly to Miami and then on to Jamica. The two of them board the plane and take a seat in first class. Elizabeth could not seem to get enough of Drew. She looked at her wedding ring and then into the eyes of the man who has taken her heart away. "I feel like the luckiest person in the world. I have heard both good and bad about "Married at First Sight". I cannot wait till we land in Jamica. I have been dreaming of my honeymoon since I found out what one is. We are going to have the best time."
She looked at Drew who seemed a bit tense. She wondered if it was all from the day before catching up with him or if it had to do with the storm outside of their window. She held his hand and he seemed to relax. They had their first drink of the day and it helped to take the edge off him.
They were on their second and last leg of the journey. The plane flew close to the islands and it looked so beautiful everywhere. The blues and the greens of water below were so inviting. Drew and Elizabeth had no clue what to expect when they got there. Lila and Edward had upgraded their suite to a villa with its own personal pool. The show was not happy about that but knew that these were special circumstances and that because they will all be at the same Sandals; it may be okay. They planned on taping out of the rooms this time and concentrated more on the fun aspects of the island. They were going to do more with the other three couples then Drew-Elizabeth. When the couples got off the plane, Dr. Miller went to speak to Andrew and Elizabeth. She had spoken with two of the other couples in Miami and Pastor Smith was going to talk the newest of the group.
"Okay. We usually spend the same amount of time with each couple. The problem being is we did not expect your family Drew to upgrade your honeymoon. You will be staying in one of the villas which has its own pool. I just don't want it rubbed in the other's faces." Drew and Elizabeth understood. They were meeting later that evening for dinner and meeting the other couples. I know that the two of you have a lot to talk about. We are meeting at seven at the main restaurant. There is always someone around who can help you if you need it."
Their first full day as man and wife was thrilling and exhausting. Drew carried Elizabeth over the threshold into their private villa. It was breath taking. There was a fully loaded bar. They were a couple of baskets from friends and family waiting for them. The two of them changed into something more comfortable. Drew was overcome with how he felt about Elizabeth. He knew that he just met her the day before, but it felt like they already knew each other. "Lizzie, come here. I have something special for you."
"Okay Drew here I come. What do you have for me?" They kissed and took some pictures of their room. The selfies they took were funny, but a few were not for anyone else to see. Drew could tell that Liz was feeling a little tense because she was not sure what should happen next. It seemed when she had watched a couple of the seasons, there was always one couple that were always at it. They loved attention and making out in front of a lot of strangers seemed to turn them on more.
They both clearly wanted each other but were afraid of being the first to say anything. "Drew let us get our suits on and try out our personal pool. The bikini that I have might make you feel a bit uncomfortable, so if that is the case, I will just have to take it off."
"Lizzie, I think that I will need some liquid courage to go in that pool with you. I was in the Navy, but no one looked as hot as you do right now." The two of the changed and went to try out the pool. The pool looked like a lagoon and it had its own waterfall. The bikini that Liz bought left nothing to the imagination. It was like a few pieces of floss with a little bit of color. Drew wore his swimsuit that was getting tighter by the moment.
The two of them kissed and it felt so good. Drew put on the sunscreen for Liz while she did it for him. "I wanted to tell you that I have seen you a couple of times before we got married. The first time was when you were leaving one of the interview rooms during the time, we met with the production company. The second time was at your opening a couple of weeks ago. You met Franco and Curtis then. I was there but was too shy to meet you. I also was thinking about who I was getting married too and prayed she looked like you. I bought one of the paintings that you did on my brother. He was next to his motorcycle on the docks. I looked at it and thought that is a cool bike and the area looked cool. I did not really think about the portrait until I met Jason. Then I knew you had taken either a photo or you made him stand for the portrait."
"You are right it was a photo. Your brother never wants to sit still for long. His love is his bike and his job. His job is a mob enforcer for Sonny Corinthos. His job is to do whatever Sonny wants. Then if he has some spare time, he will go clean up any messes that Carly has made and she uses her son, Michael to make him do it. You will find that all out on your own. I loved him, but I was not on his priority list and Sonny made sure of it. The best thing that happened to me was Lila talking me into going to college out of Port Charles. She said that I needed to go where no one knows me and that I can make my life up the way I want to. I didn't need anyone for that."
The two of them talked about their love for Boston. They talked about his time in the Navy, his best friends and what he wants to do now, that he knows where his family is living. Lila and Edward want to get to know him better and so do his parents. "Do you think that sometime during this trial marriage, we can go visit our family in Port Charles? You can give me a tour of the place and a rundown on all the people there."
Liz laughed, but she knew that they both needed to do that. Then the two of them decided to go for a walk to the beach. Drew put on more sunscreen on Liz. She did the same for him and they walked to the water's edge. The producers found them there and started to do some filming. Drew played up the camera and picked Liz up and took her into the bay and threw her in. The two played around and talked about their friends and family. The camera loved the two of them.
When it was time to be on camera, Liz took to it like she was born to be on television. The couple met with the other three couples. They talked about her family and his family to their new friends. It was exhausting to them and they could see that there were two couples that did nothing but fight. The last couple was quiet like they were and wanted to avoid confrontations at all costs.
The dinners when everyone got together were always loud and fun. There was plenty of alcohol served to everyone and sometimes that made for good drama, but others it made bad things even worse.
The producers were called in to talk to one couple. They realized that they knew each other a long time ago and forgot about it until the day they met. When they realized what was going on, they knew that they needed to leave. The couple looked great on paper, but when you could see below the surface, it was too much going on there.
Drew and Liz were always happy to go back to their villa. Liz called Em up every night. She told her about the other couples, and she sent some photos that Drew, and she had taken of the villa and surrounding area. "I want to tell you that your brother is someone who will be an excellent part of the family. I could tell how Lila felt and she has great taste. He is so sweet and sexy. He is the opposite of his brother except the loyal part. He is very loyal to his friends and who he considers family. He is talking to either Curtis or Franco. They are a very important part of his life. I just have not figured how we will have the time to visit until this is over, but I am thinking after the second week back we can fly to Port Charles, for a few days. It is important for him to meet his family where they live. I just do not want to think about going back there because of the people that are still there. Just make sure that Lucky and Sarah are nowhere near there when we get there. I don't want to deal with either one of them."
"They have moved to California with your Grams. They are supposed to be here for Nik and my wedding. That is, it. Can you imagine what Carly is going to say to meeting Drew? I am sure that it will not be pleasant, but I think that Jason will keep her away when you and Drew are here. I love your photos. It looks like the two of you were meant for each other. I am happy that you did the show. I must get going. Nik will be here in a few minutes. We are going over some more wedding plans with the wedding planner, Grandmother and Monica. Take care and have fun."
Drew just finished his phone call home. "I can't believe that we have been married for almost two weeks. The day after tomorrow, we will be heading back to Boston. We need to go check out some of the stores so we can bring back presents for everyone. There is something in one of the shops that I saw that you would love. I am going to pick it up and hide it till we get home. You will just wonder what it is until we are safely in our place together."
When it came to making plans, the two of them were way ahead of the other two couples. They were trying but finding it hard to find common ground. "Tonight, we are going to have to help the other couples find something that they have in common. They need it more than we do. I feel like I could tell you anything and that you would be here to listen to me. I think that the men are going to be on one side tonight and the women on the other. That way, everyone can help each other. Have fun and I will see you when we all meet up. Just remember that I will be thinking about you."
Drew went and met the two men that were left after Steve went home to Boston. The other men were Billy and Todd. The three of them sat back and had a few beers. They looked out over the water when Billy asked about the villa. "Hey, I heard that you found your family and they are very wealthy. Then they decided to upgrade your stay to a villa with your own personal pool. I think that we should all get to enjoy it. That is if you don't mind." Todd just looked at Billy and shook his head.
"I don't mind it at all. Elizabeth and I are having a great time and I know that she would love for you to see where we are staying. Just remember that it was not us that did it, but my family. I do not want you to be upset at her because of this. My grandmother, Lila is the one who helped Elizabeth get into college. She has been a big supporter of my wife way before she knew I existed. She is best friends with my sister and that is how she became a part of my family way before anyone knew about me. She has helped me a lot adjusting to my new life, but we both love Boston, so we are not sure about what we are going to do once we go back home. Have either of you figured out where you are going to stay when you get home. Billy, I know that you and Sharon share the same kinds of interests and that she loves sports just like you. Todd, do you have the same interests as Maria when it comes to hobbies?"
Todd was the first to speak up then. "Maria and I have this thing about watching old movies, especially about the mafia. It is a wild thing to find out about each other. Her favorite movie is "The Godfather" and so is mine. I always wanted to live back in the day when it was cool to be a part of it. Now it is just dangerous and not much to love about it. Although, I heard that your twin brother is a coffee importer. Now that is an interesting career choice. I have tried their coffee and it pretty good. What are you going to do now that you have a twin in that business? Is not going to be dangerous since you both look so much alike. I gather you will have to move to Port Charles, so your brother can keep an eye on you."
Billy looked at Todd and high fived him. "I was just thinking the same thing. How does it feel to know you have a twin brother that is in the mafia? It is going to make the holidays a whole lot different. He will probably buy you all bullet proof vests for Christmas. It is a very important part of the life."
"You both are funny. I do not know anything about Jason except he is my twin. My wife dated him when she was just out of high school and went to Boston. She realized that she would never come first in his life and decided she deserved more than that. I want that relationship with him, but I am not sure how that will work out with my life."
The topic turned to sports and Drew calmed down a bit. He realized that it was going to be like that with everyone now. He knew he was not prepared for that, but he knew that he wanted to know his family.
Elizabeth was having the same talk with Sharon and Maria. They wanted to know about the Quartermaines and if the rumors were true about them. "Okay. I have known the Quartermaines since I moved to Port Charles from Boulder. Emily is my best friend and she is Jason and Drew's sister. They also have an older brother AJ. AJ has been spending most of his time in Europe since he needed space from the family. He lives in London with his wife Keesha. family person and would rather ride his bike anywhere then go to a family dinner. He loves his grandmother and younger sister. The rest tried to make him be like he was before his accident."
The three ladies started talking about what they want to do for their last night in paradise. "I think that we should all go hang out at your villa and private pool. Its our last night here and we heard it is gorgeous." Elizabeth wanted the last night to be about her and Drew but she knew that it would be the best way so there was no infighting.
"I have no problem with that. Let us go see what we can get ourselves into. I heard our last night, we get to be with our husbands alone. We can meet up around eight. You already know where our villa is, and I will have a bartender there to make our drinks. I just need to tell the producers what is going on. I am not sure if they will want to tape this or leave it alone."
Drew texted Elizabeth about the pool. She told him she knew and that they need to get in touch with the producers to see if they want to be there to film it or not. He then texts her that he loves her and misses her. She texts back that she loves and misses him. The girls grab her phone and the guys did the same to Drew. The guys just hooted at him and the ladies just sighed.
Soon after Liz's phone call everyone went on their separate ways. The producers were going to film it but from a distance so it would be like a part of the show but not too close that anyone could tell it was the villa for only one couple.
When the last couple left, Drew and Liz were ready for bed. They wanted the last night to be special. Drew went to take a shower, but Liz started a nice warm bubble bath. The tub was ready and when Drew saw her get in, he knew that a shower was over-rated. He went over to the tub and Liz showed him how much she wanted him. He sat behind and she leaned back into him. His hands started to roam her body and she felt her body start to open to him. She turned around and kissed him deeply. She let him know that she was all his. He never thought he could fall for someone as quickly as he did with Liz. It was like she was made for him.
The two took their time getting to know one another and they were both surprised how strong their feelings had grown in two short weeks. They knew that getting back to reality the next day was going to be hard, but they had each other to rely on and that was all they needed.
They fell asleep in each other's arms. The next morning the day was beautiful. They had their breakfast on terrace. They took another dip in the pool and took some more photos. It was hard to describe the feeling of knowing they were leaving the island behind but going home together as a married couple.
The butler helped them get ready to go to the airport. They had on their cute t-shirts they got at one of the shops in the city of Ocho Rios. They took one last look around and headed to the airport. Drew took care of the luggage and then they went thru security.
The wait was not long and then they headed to the plane. The plane was packed, and they could see the other two couples were there too. They did not look happy leaving either. They all had golden tans from their time on the island. Drew could not believe all the things that they did on the island. His favorite was horseback riding at sunset. It was truly magical. He knew that Liz took a picture of everything because she was going to paint a new series of their honeymoon.
When everyone landed in Boston, it felt weird to say goodbye to all of them. There were going to be appointments to make with the producers. Drew needed to ask if he and Liz could go to Port Charles to meet his family. The two decided to get an apartment together. The problem was where to live. The gallery was not that far from Harvard University, but Drew's apartment was north of the University and Liz's was south. They needed to find one that was central to both and had a short distance to the "T". Liz and Drew either walked everywhere or had a bicycle. There was no sense in having a vehicle because there were no places to park. If they needed to go further than the public transit, they would get a cab.
Liz made it to her apartment, and she was going to start her packing. It would be her first night without Drew since they got married. She realized just how much she depended on him already because she missed him. Ruby had come over to help Liz pack. "I say that we have a girls night in. We can order a pizza, drink some wine and watch silly love stories while we pack. It would help to take your mind off missing him. I know that you two will be together tomorrow, but it can be hard sometimes to be apart when you are first getting to know someone."
Ruby never asked, but she could tell that her best friend had fallen for her husband very quickly. She prayed that it stayed that way. "Okay. I figure you will be going to Port Charles soon so Drew can meet the family and get to know them better. I was thinking that it would be a good time for me to take off to see my family down south. I am just shutting down for the month. I do not want you to worry about your job. You will still be paid. Your paintings are helping me face my family. I miss them and I have not seen them in years. They never come to Boston and I never go to Atlanta. I have enough money from your show to pay you for the next month and allow me to see my family. I hope that when I get back, we can sit and talk about our future. I plan on having a mini show a week from Friday. I know that you might not have any paintings done, but your photos really took me by surprise. I did not really think that the market was so good, but with your photos, it was worth it. Do you think you could put some of them in for me to show? I think it would put us both over the top for our vacations."
Liz thought about and knew that she was right. She loved her photos and knew which ones could not be shown and which ones would be perfect for the show. She just needed to make some duplicates so she would have them for sketching and then painting them.
The two of them drank wine and ate hot greasy pizza while watching some fun rom coms. Liz realized that if it did not have anything to do with her art, then she really did not have much to pack. She was not much of a cook except when it came to anything chocolate. Everything else seemed to burn or not be cooked long enough. She laughed at the meals she tried to make for her friends. They always knew when Lizzie was cooking. It was that bad.
Ruby and Liz soon went to bed. Between the packing and the jet lag, it soon caught up to her. Drew realized that he did not have that much to pack either. He did not cook and did not have much of any kind of hobby. He loved his things he bought or received when he was in the Navy. He had a trunk for all his gear and trinkets. He had a decent amount of clothes and the painting that he bought just before he got married. His wife was the artist and he did not even know that. It was his last night with the guys. The three of them had shared an apartment for years. It was going to be sad leaving them, but the future was out there ready for him to grab it.
He went to sleep early too that night. He hated sleeping without his wife, but he knew that the next day or so, the two of them would be going into their new place.
The next morning, Drew called Liz up to tell her about an apartment he saw on-line. It was next to the green line and it was in the perfect section of Cambridge. The apartment had a private balcony where Liz could sketch to her heart's content. The apartment was the perfect size for them because they did not need that much space. The master bedroom had a set of French doors that led to the balcony. The master bedroom was a pretty good size and they each had a walk-in closet. She was getting her claw tub and he was getting his own shower. The second bedroom was smaller, and it could be used as Drew's office. The second bathroom was the guest bathroom.
There was a place to put their bicycles when they wanted to ride to work. There was a fitness center and pool inside of the complex. Drew said that they had an appointment to see the apartment at one. When they were done, if they were approved, they could start moving in the next day. They just needed to figure out where they were going to spend the night. "We can stay at my place. I live alone and that way we can have some privacy. Unless you want to stay one more night with the guys."
"I want every night to be with you. The guys will understand and if they do not well, I cannot help them. Let us get something to eat. I am starved."
Ruby, Curtis and Franco were going to meet the newlyweds at Liz's apartment around six that night. Drew knew that once they saw their credit it was a shoo-in for them to get the apartment. Drew went to Liz's apartment and dropped off his duffle bag. He kissed his wife and the two of them went out to breakfast just down the street. They talked so long they realized that they needed to meet the real estate agent at the apartment complex.
Drew held Liz's hand when they went into the lobby. It was charming and beautiful for the young couple. They loved it already. The real estate agent was waiting for the couple with a smile on her face. "I am so happy to meet you Mr. and Mrs. Cain. My name is Katelyn Smith and I am here to show you the apartment of your dreams. I want you to see this lobby and all its perfection. They even have a fireplace for the snowy cold nights in the winter. Down this hallway will take you to the fitness center. It has even kind of exercise equipment that you can think of and them some more. We have a pool that is on the other side of the fitness center. If you like, we can check it out?"
Liz looked at the beautiful young blond and shook her head no. "We would really love to see the apartment. I heard there is even a place to relax on the roof. I am an artist and I love to photograph everything before I sketch or paint it. Sometimes, I just sell the photo outright. The views are supposed to be unbelievable."
Ms. Smith took them up to the roof to show them everything they had to offer. They had a couple of benches for everyone to sit on. The view was breath-taking, and Liz was already in love with the place and they had not even made it to the apartment.
Ms. Smith opened the door to the vacant apartment. The layout was just like Drew saw it on-line. The kitchen had all new upgraded appliances. There was new flooring everywhere. No carpeting which made Liz very happy. It came furnished or unfurnished. They could take all the furniture or just some and buy the other pieces. The only thing that Liz did not want was the bed. She loved her bed and when Drew saw it, he loved it too.
The living room set was perfect and the, dining room set was just what they wanted. There were a couple of barstools for the island and it looked perfect. They saw the guest bathroom and then the guest bedroom. It was just like Drew pictured it. They were going to have the bed taken out and Drew was going to bring his desk and work and put it into the bedroom. He was going to have to go shopping for what else he needed. The apartment had central heat and air. The washer and dryer were behind closed accordion doors.
Then the three of them headed into the master bedroom. The master bedroom was like two of the guest bedrooms in size. Liz and Drew walked out the French doors unto the balcony. There was room for a table and chairs. There was an overhang so if it rained, they would not get wet. It was perfect for Liz to sketch out there. She knew that she had found her new home.
Drew went to check out the closed-in shower and claw bathtub. He knew that he could check out twenty more and he would still come back to this one. "My wife and I would love to rent this apartment from your company. I can tell how she has been looking at everything that she is just as happy as I am." Liz then hugs Drew, so he knows that he was right.
"I can tell you that you have already been approved. Here is the deposit that needs to be done. The utilities can be turned on when you move in and when everything is all set, I will call you so you can pick up your keys. Here is a list of all the places around here to eat at, shop or just play pool. There is a lounge downstairs where you can have a drink and play some pool if you like. Here is another list for emergencies and a map of the area. I think that I have shown you everything. It was a pleasure meeting you both today. Thank you for coming."
Drew was very excited, and it winced a bit at the price, but he knew it was going to be steep because it is first and last months rent. It also included a security deposit and an application fee. Liz looked over her shoulder and said its okay. "We won't find a place that we like at any better at this price. Most have less amenities and more money. I think we got a great deal."
The rest of the day they spent on getting their utilities turned on, Liz going to get her name change on her social security and then driver's license with her new information. Drew needed to do that for his new address.
Then they went home and forgot about company coming. When they showed up with food, the newlyweds let them in and told them about their new place. Drew and Liz had both been taking pictures of the place. Ruby fell in love with the apartment complex. She knew that she was going to be strapped for money when she took her vacation, but when she got back, she planned on saving enough to get a place there too.
Franco and Curtis were surprised that they found such a great apartment where they did for the money they had to pay. "Sometimes, I think that you have an angel that follows you around to bring you such good luck. I might start to think that I could be jealous of you. I know I am already jealous of Liz here. She is beautiful, smart and her artwork is something that I wish I had at my gallery."
Then Ruby looked at Franco. "When I get back from vacation, how about being partners in a gallery. It could be yours, mine or we can find a new together."
Franco blushed. "I was thinking for a second you wanted to be with me like Drew and Liz. It took me a few seconds to realize you meant being a partner in the gallery. I think that it is a wonderful idea. Just get in touch with me when you return. I heard you are going home for a month to Georgia. That must be exciting to see your family and friends."
Later in the evening, Drew gets a phone call from Ms. Smith. "I have your application approved and your keys for you tomorrow morning. Whenever you are ready to move in, we will be here to help you."
"Okay everyone. We can move in tomorrow. I think we need one more day, because the power is going to be put on tomorrow afternoon and cable will be the next morning. I am not sure about anything else for right now. I need to hire someone to move our things and we need to get our apartment stocked up on food and supplies. I think that we can have someone do that for us. I go back to work in September. I am not sure what I am going to do. Ruby is giving Liz time off while she takes her vacation so, I guess we can head to Port Charles while Ruby is in Atlanta."
Drew and Liz had finally gotten everything together at Liz's place. The movers were going to be there the next day and they put in an order to have their food delivered at noon. The internet and cable guy were going to be there around one. The two of them realized that even though things were going fast, it was all worth it.
Liz woke up before Drew and went to get her favorite pastries and coffee for breakfast. When Liz came in, Drew had just finished his shower. He sat down at her kitchen table and laughed when he saw the pastries that she bought. "That is my favorite bakery. How did we never meet before this? I came down here all the time for those blueberry muffins. I guess that is why we love each other. We keep finding we have the same interests. Are you ready for moving in day? I can't wait to open the door and carry you over threshold."
The two of them finished breakfast and the movers showed up. We showed them what needed to be taken and what to leave. She was going to have a company do the cleaning to make sure she got back her security deposit. They watched the movers take their things and Liz let the cleaning people inside the apartment. She had known the company for years and trusted them. Then the two of them left her apartment.
Drew opened the door to the lobby. They went over to the desk and signed the paperwork and got their keys. They were given a list with all the rules. It was the same that every rental complex has, and it was to protect both the renter and owner. Then Drew took Liz up to their floor. He walked off the elevator and swept Liz into his arms. He opened the door to their new place. "Welcome home, sweetheart, welcome home."
