Chapter Seven is up! Since school's online, I think I'll be able to work on this more.

Dawn's POV:
Woo-hoo! School! Walking to Contest Battles with May was a nice start. But then she had to go to the field right next door.
Sighing, I walked into the field. It looked like a regular Contest stadium, with the standard chairs and big battlefield. The only thing that was different was that there were multiple battle spots.
I saw many Coordinators sitting in the chairs. There were only a few, maybe about fifteen. I sat down in the second row, wondering what this class was going to be about.
"This is Contest Battles, where you get paired up with a random partner and battle!" a speaker boomed. I twitched excitedly.
"Oh stop moving, Dee Dee," sneered an unfriendly voice. I turned to my right to see peach-colored-hair Ursula, smirking at me.
"It's Dawn," I snapped. Ursula rolled her eyes.
"I just know I'm going to win every battle," she said.
I snorted. What? I couldn't help it! "We'll see about that."
A screen materialized in the center and it showed the pairings. To my infinite surprise and shock, I was paired against Ursula. I stared at the line connecting us and vowed silently to defeat her.
We were teleported to our spots on the fields. Ursula smirked at me. Then a bunch of fan boys of hers came around our spot and shouted things that went in my opponent's favor. The timer started.
Grinding my teeth, I wondered which Pokemon I should use. Hmm, maybe Pachirisu again?
"Gabite, let's go!" Overconfident as usual.
If she's going to send out Gabite, I'll send out Pachirisu. "Pachirisu, spotlight!"
Ursula rolled her eyes. "You got lucky last time, Dee Dee," she said. "This time, you're going down! Dragon Claw!"
Gabite moved towards Pachirisu with lightning speed. "Sweet Kiss and Discharge!" I yelled. Pachirisu obeyed and created an electrical swirl of hearts. They hit Gabite and Ursula was too late to give a counterattack. I saw her bite her lip.
Ursula lost points. I smirked at her. "Dragon Rage!"
"Counter with Electro Ball!"
The two 'balls' collided in mid-air, creating a big explosion. I turned my head away and started coughing. When the dust cleared, Pachirisu and Gabite were panting. I knew that Pachirisu couldn't do any more super powerful moves, but neither could Gabite.
"Tackle, and Sandstorm!" Gabite leaped through the air while churning up a sandstorm, making me lose points. Quickly I ran through a series of counterattacks in my head.
"Endure and Swift!" The stars swiftly flew through the air, hitting Gabite while Pachirisu endured the sandstorm. I sighed in relief. Ursula was halfway, and I was about a third.
Ursula lost points and she stamped the ground in frustration. The fan boys booed at me but I winked at them and they stopped. "Dig!" she yelled.
Gabite dug down. "Try to sense for Gabite!" I commanded to Pachirisu. It nodded at me and jumped up. When it landed, Gabite smashed upwards and knocked Pachirisu away.
"Good job, Gabite!"
"Pachirisu!"
Now Ursula and I were tied. We had two minutes left.
"Slash, Gabite!" Ursula ordered.
"Dodge, then Sweet Kiss!" I commanded. Pachirisu narrowly dodged Gabite while Ursula lost points in turn. Then Sweet Kiss came and Gabite became confused, therefore making Ursula lose more points. We had a minute and thirty seconds. Ursula was almost done with. Just one more attack and I would win.
"Gabite, you got this! Dragon Rage!"
"Thunder Wave!" Gabite was paralyzed but that didn't stop the ball from coming towards Pachirisu. It came too fast. "Pachirisu!"
After the dust cleared, Gabite and Pachirisu had both fainted. I bit my nails. Ursula smirked at me.
"The winner is... DAWN!" I smiled. Ursula glared at me and returned Gabite, saying nonsense that she would've won if this and that had happened. I curtsied and walked to the stadium. The fan boys followed me and started saying congratulations. I might have my own fan club.
I watched some of the other battles. Solidad won easily. I admired how calm and not-arrogant Solidad was even though her Pokemon were some of the strongest I'd ever seen. Ursula tried to battle again, but the speaker wouldn't let her.
A minute into Solidad's battle, I heard the ding of a text message. Quickly I checked my phone and clicked on the notification.
May💜: OMG Dawn guess what happened in combos
Me: What may
May💜: I GOT DENTENTION!
Me: It's spelled detention and WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG W/ YOU?!
May💜: It's all briannas and drews fault
Me: How
May💜: oop ttyl i might get 'nother detention bye
Me: bye & ok
Wow! I honestly couldn't believe May got a detention. Just wow. And yes I did change her contact name.
"See you've been busy," smirked Ursula from beside me. I whipped my phone away from her and put it away. Then I heard another ding and couldn't resist checking it again. I held it away from Ursula.
Unknown: Hi, Dawn
Me: Who is this?
Unknown: Paul
Me: go away
Paul😑: How rude
Me: How did u even get my #
Paul😑: Don't even ask, Dee Dee.
Me: Stop bothering me or I'll block u
Paul😑: Why would you do that?
I angrily slammed my phone into my pocket and tried to focus on the battle.
HOW IN THE WORLD DID PAUL SHINJI GET MY PHONE NUMBER?!
After class, May came and picked me up. "So basically, Drew said that I can't flirt, then I slapped him, then Brianna punched me then I kneed-"
"MAY MAPLE, PAUL SHINJI GOT MY PHONE NUMBER!" I practically yelled in her ear.
"AAAH!" she screamed. We got weird looks.
"I know right?" I unlocked my phone and shoved the text messages from Paul in her face. "Look!"
"Oh wow. He's hacking you!" she screamed.
"No," I went to his contact and pressed block. "I blocked him."
"Dawn, technology can't sometimes be relied on," May said seriously.
"Whatever."
