Long time no see! Chapter 9 is up! Hope you enjoy it!
Misty's POV
It made me slightly annoyed that May, Dawn, and Leaf kept texting me during my gym leader class. My phone kept ringing during the class and the other gym leaders kept shooting me annoyed looks. Finally, I just put the phone on do not disturb.
In the next class, which was a new class that wasn't on my first schedule, I had to practice with a Trainer in battling. Oh, and the class was called Gym Leaders: Training with Trainers.
To my dismay, I was paired up with Ash. I didn't even know he was in this class until the teacher/speaker announced pairs. For a second, I wondered why Pokemon Academy for Advanced Trainers and Coordinators used speakers instead of actual teachers. Maybe it was to show off new technology?
I pushed that to the back of my mind and reluctantly met Ash on a field.
"Oh hey Mist!" he yelled from his side.
I gritted my teeth. "Gyarados, let's go!"
"Gyarados, huh? Pikachu, I choose you!" Pikachu jumped off Ash's shoulder.
"Pika chu pi!" it cried. Misty!
"Missed you too, Pikachu, just not your Trainer," I snapped. "Waterfall!"
"Counter with Electro Ball!"
"Dodge!"
"Thunderbolt!"
"Scary Face!"
The Scary Face stopped Pikachu in mid-energizing and it flinched. "Hydro Pump!"
Pikachu was unable to react. But water-type moves don't do a lot of damage to an electric-type. But I still had confidence that I would win.
"Pikachu! Knock out of it!" Ash yelled. Pikachu shook its head. "Okay! Now Agility and Quick Attack!"
"Gyarados, Dodge!"
But I underestimated the speed of Pikachu. It hit Gyarados with lightning speed.
"Gyarados! Are you okay?" I called.
"GYARADOS!" it roared in answer.
"Ice Fang!" I yelled. Gyarados knew no ground-type moves, but after traveling with Ash for quite a long time, I had a boost on his strategy.
"Pikachu, Dodge!" As I expected.
"Aqua Tail!"
Obviously Ash wasn't expecting that. The Aqua Tail knocked Pikachu to the other side of the field. I smirked as a crowd of people came, largely consisting of fan girls for Ash. I saw Melody among them and felt anger boil up in me.
"Let's finish it off with Hyper Beam!"
"No! Pikachu!"
Pikachu tried to get up, but being thrown across the field like that must be affecting its strength. The Hyper Beam soared through the air toward Pikachu.
Desperately, Ash called, "Dodge!" But Pikachu was too weak and it got hit by the Hyper Beam.
I walked towards him and said, "Good battle," like any other gym leader would say.
"Thanks," Ash said, then grabbed Pikachu and ran off towards Nurse Joy in the corner.
I sighed in relief. I was glad that was over.
At dinner, we all got back together again. Leaf seemed especially down.
"I hate Gary," she groaned as she inhaled her food.
"I hate Paul," Dawn mimicked.
"I HATE DREW!" May yelled.
"SHUT IT!" Brianna shouted from the other side of the cafeteria.
May ignored her.
"I hate Ash," I exclaimed.
"Yeah right," Leaf rolled her eyes. "You have to have some sort of relationship with him after traveling to a thousand regions with him!"
"Perhaps that relationship is just one of an annoying Trainer and a decent gym leader," I shot back. "And it was four, including the Orange League."
"Whatever!"
"I'm done!" May announced. "Does anyone have a dollar?"
We all stared at her. "Bring your own dollars," I said, getting up and buying a second tray. Someone bumped into me. I whipped around and glared at them crossly.
"Oh hi Misty!" Tracey beamed at me. WHAT?! I groaned internally. Now Tracey's here? UGH!
"Didn't expect to see you here," I muttered, and walked as quickly as I could without suspicion back to our table.
Dawn was in the middle of talking. "-and then poor Chimchar had to survive the wave, even though it was a fire-type! And that's because of its bad Trainer!"
Oh. This story. "Well, let's be glad Ash got Chimchar instead," Leaf said.
"Tracey's here," I said bluntly.
We all went quiet for a second. "Who's Tracey?" May asked.
Hi! I think I'll be updating every other weekend, since school started. Hope to see you guys next time!
Please review any mistakes or things I need improvement on, or you can just say, "This story isn't to my liking," or "You should fix..." Just no flames! Thank you!
