The newly deemed Pineapple party goers though frozen in time had all at some point succumbed to the pure joy and alcohol the new company brought. "Mysteriously" Marco and Domino had disappeared to only be seen again out of breath and collapsing, together in the very grass among the other drunk men who had passed out, in heap's of laughter.
Domino had never really found comfort in sleeping in general. Though she enjoyed trying to sleep, unless she was passed out drunk, she never truly slept. So she was always stuck in a lull between awareness and nightmares of her past. But on very few occasions, such as this, she found herself snuggling against the warmth she had missed in this past year.
Yet as the two laid underneath the open and (ever watching view), all good things would have to come to an end. And it was with a distant shouting of male voices that pulled the pirates to awareness.
Marco and Domino still warn out from the night clung to each other and sleep a little while longer.
"Rea...Urgent." The voice was hardly making sense to Dominos half aware ears as she grumbled against Marco's chest.
"Ada...your goons..."
The red head mentioned above, was strewn over Thatch hair messy and exhausted. They had disappeared to the ship yet came back to be counted as one of the parties victims as well.
Thatch however, was awake yet unmoving because his head was trapped in heavenly bliss between her wonderful chest.
"No." She grumbled a response.
Domino nodded "Fair nough" and pulled herself back against Marco who opened one eye lazily to see three marines standing around staring at the carnage of the battle and the victims of the party.
"Rear Admiral." A mans voice stated with concern as he inspected the sleeping pirates. He looked down in horror as the tall and messy hair marine lay down beside the first division commander of the Whitebeard pirates.
But that wasn't what surprised him, he supposed that in her movements her tank top had at some point been pulled up, and now as she lay down so calmly it revealed the haunting mark that he had never seen her to have. His eyes moved away from the mark only to see narrow and glaring blue eyes locked on him. The sight was even more harrowing the mark his Rear Admiral had.
The blonde man put a finger to his lips before resting his hand over her back covering that terrible disgusting mark. As if he knew what the one eyed marine saw, and wanted to hide it form the woman.
Domino unknowing of the stares, groaned and hid her head the best she could against Marco's neck. "If we don't move they'll go away." She whispered.
Marco let out a light chuckle sending one last look to the marine wearing an eye patch before closing his eyes with a light smile on his face. "Good to know-yoi." He softly responded. His lips barely moving with the words.
"What do you think we are?!" The three voices asked unison.
The pirate crew, who were now groaning their awareness and picking themselves up from there uncomfortable positions, grasped their heads at such loud noises.
Domino, still warm, nuzzled her head once more as she sighed "Dead men."
To which a chorus of nods that she would never see agreed with her.
"Don't kill them, to much paperwork." Adaline's sleepy voice stated as she moved to get up pushing away from Thatch who had quickly closed his eyes as if he was asleep.
Adaline's cheeks matched the color of her hair as she quickly clambered off him and yawned looking towards a freshly pressed Jean alongside a shorts wearing Gator who's green ascot was also freshly pressed and silver leg shinning.
And of course a very angry looking Avery. His eye patch had the marine logo on it but even with one eye you could tell he was staring daggers at how openly Domino lay.
"You do it then." Domino groaned. Adaline rolled her eyes and looked at the men before her. Yawning again. "what? What do you guys need?" She asked.
"To go away." Domino grumbled to Marco's nod as he turned over on his side to wrap her in his arms. Unlike Domino he was very much awake and was well aware of the looks he received. But the way he saw it, if they were going to trance around Pop's island then they would have to deal with the consequences.
And that just so happened to be he was taking this woman as a hostage.
At least for now.
The group shook there heads as Adaline waved them off. Jean nodded and held out a brown piece of paper and then a transponder snail that was already in the middle of a call but on hold. "Sorry sir, but we just got this memo. I'm afraid its urgent." He added looking sheepishly at the Whitebeards that now glared at him.
Each one more hungover then the last and all debating the need to have so many marines standing before them...Alive.
Adaline rubbed one eye with her pale pink sleeve and hummed lightly as she read. Once again happy to get paperwork. "Oh.." She whispered looking over at Domino who was smiling against Marcos chest. "Domino you still asleep?" She asked lightly across from where a makeshift food table was. The table and any other furniture that was brought out was now strewn around with men grumbling abrupt awareness.
Marco opened his eyes now clearly awake then smiled seeing Domino's peaceful face. He watched how the dirt from the small forest they explored crumbled and fell out of her head as she gave a light nod.
"Yes, screw off." She grumbled holding Marco tighter. He raised an eyebrow. Was she really telling the truth? He poked her round light pink cheeks lightly as Adaline watched with fare and leaned back.
As if remembering horrible memories from doing the same things.
"Oh, um hey Marco. She talks in her sleep. I would really be careful." She called watching the mythical man play with fire.
Very hot.., Sleepy, Domino shaped fire.
Marco raised his eyebrows and propped himself up with a motion Domino did not enjoy as she quickly moved to adjust herself. Grumbling about a silly birdy.
The fourth Division commander who was robbed of his Angels heavenly blessing looked over at Marco continuously poking Dominos round cheek with a smile as the woman continued to grumble.
"You're joking right?" Thatch asked moving to stretch his own sore arms. Man he had been through some rough nights and parties alike, but unmoving all night under the weight of that woman's chest, did kind of make him sore. He would never again take for granted the weight she had to carry, But figuratively and literally.
However, if she needed help holding herself up he would happily oblige for as long as she would allow.
Marco rolled his eyes at Adaline's crossed arms. "She doesn't allow herself to get like this much, so count it a blessing you're not hurt. Normally we' would have been punched by now." She added as the other three marines all made faces as if knowing the pain and not wanting to relive it.
Marco shook his head mid poke, "She's not really asleep-yoi." He half heartedly smiled waiting to see her calm face break to a wide and happy smile at being called out. But she was still unflinching grumbling but not awake.
Adaline looked at the blonde who gave a wide smile as he poked the sleeping and tall marine again and put a hand to her forehead then waved her fingers lightly. "I warned you, Jean, when did you get this message?" She asked moving to stand up.
However she went wide eyed at the soreness of her legs and remained seated with a quick squeak.
A muffled laughter rose from the aware eyes before she sent back a sharp glare causing Whitebeard himself to suck in a breath.
"He ruined the marine.." They mumbled among themselves.
"Another poor woman tainted by Thatch."
"Tainted ani't the word for it."
"Poor woman.."
Jean looked around the crew of ungodly and terrible pirates with a sense of unease. Once again, Domino and Adaline are always up to something. Yet this time him and the other officers had did this. They caused their superiors to run towards the pirates. This was terrible.
He rubbed the back of his head. "An hour ago, um Commodore when we started the operation we di-"
"Flippin fuck!"
"Domino-yo"
"THWACK!"
The group suddenly looked over at Domino who was sat upright running her hand through her hair and going wide eyed at Marco who rolled over away from her holding his lower areas. "Oh shit!" She called before moving to look over him. She leaned over him hiding the smile on her face with her hand as she used the other one to reach out to hover over him.
"Oh, Oh no! I'm so sorry!" She giggled. Between Marco's gasp's of pain.
"Got him right in the pineapples!" Someone snickered. While Marco sent them a sharp and deadly glare.
Adaline sighed and rolled her eyes. "I told you, stand back. But what do I know? Right, not like i've known her for more then like 15 years or anything?" She mumbled. However was silenced by the sound of Marco half heartedly throwing his own punch in return.
Of course Domino dodged giggling by rolling away happily.
"I told you i'd return the favor weeds-yoi!" He smiled catching her arms and moving to hold her against the ground. His eyes only on her as she gave him a sheepish smile the scar across her nose stretching with the motion.
"I'm sorry...really!" She called with a light snicker.
The group watched how Marco held the woman under him his eyes searching hers debating on what to do next.
The crew tried to look away from this private moment as Domino tilted her head lightly "You got me? Now what?" She asked her sultry voice growing with the deep breath Marco took in.
Adaline waved off the tension between the two turning her own attention towards the three marines who all looked uncertain and confused.
"I figured Domino had did this, but you three, really stooped to her level? Explain." She stated crossing her arms the sly smile crossing her face causing the three to suddenly look anywhere else but her blue eyes.
Gator looked around with a smile. Noticing the power of his higher up. Some of the ground was jetting out at awkward angles and what wasn't misplace was had barrels of empty booze strewn about.
"Ah, damn a party? We worked so hard getting here and we got nothing. You guys act depressed and you get a party sir." He frowned moving to sit and put a hand on his cheek. If only he wasn't so loyal to his wife he'd chase some bar woman himself.
Jean looked around and shook his head. "Well you see sir,.."
Gator shrugged. "It was all Domino's plain. Jean just feels responsible." He smiled pulling the communications officer sleeve. "Right?" He asked with a smile.
Jean nodded eagerly, "Right, she even threatened us not to follow you two." He added.
"The hell I did! If I'd really threatened y'all you wouldn't be here now would you?" Domino's cold voice caused the three marines to pale in place. While Adaline placed a hand on her cheek. "It's whatever, i'll forgive it..." She smiled wider "This time." She hummed.
Now even Domino blinked in fear before she found herself hiding underneath Marco who looked on in wonder. There the red head sat crossed legged and almost proper as Thatch went wide-eyed beside her. She must really be a monster to scare even the woman Marco cared for.
"So why are you here interrupting?" Thatch asked with a light smile on his face. He had to regain his cool and calm composure somehow. Seeing the angel strike fear into those men including Domino made him feel something akin to...pride?
Meanwhile Domino took in a deep breath and puffed out her cheeks pushing her body past Marco's and rolling out of the way only to have him pin her once again. "Damn it! I said I was sorry!" She yelped as he shook his head smiling.
"Pirates don't apologize-yoi." He smiled watching as her honey eyes moved as if mulling over her own conversation. "Well i'm no pirate am I?" She hummed with a give me smile.
Marco shook his head. "You're no marine either-yoi."
"If I was a pirate what'd you do?" She asked him lightly trying to trick him in to a sense of closeness. He smirked moving in closer but then stopped.
What was she up to?
However sensing his hesitation she lunged forward her tongue out and dragging along his face. Suddenly he backed off pulling at his shirt to dry off his face "Yuck-yoi!" He called as she smiled and moved to stand up in a swift motion. Landing in a proud stance.
"Ha, I win Birdy!"
Adaline only took in a deep breath as the people behind her muffled cheers while holding their heads. "Dom, HQ isn't happy about what you did at the gates. But that's the least of our problems now." She sighed shaking her head.
Domino looked away from an irritated Marco to an upset Adaline who held out the paper to her lightly. "Oh, Um.. What?" She asked pushing past Marco and moving to grab the paper as Adaline turned to Thatch. Who tapped her shoulder lightly.
"You can't leave on an empty stomach." He smiled at her melting her heart with how concerned he was. Yet now was day, and she was better. He was no longer needed. But that didn't mean she didn't want him...
"Don't plan on us staying to long." She whispered back to him as Domino blinked at the paper before sighing and handing it back to Adaline, now looking for her Marine jacket she had lost in the battle.
Thatch moved his hands up in protest. "What why?"
Domino turned away from the group with a frown. Garp was right. It was a nice jacket. She would miss that jacket. No...she would miss Marco more...
"Doesn't matter, I decline." Domino stated coldly still looking around for her jacket with a her left wrist now twisting. Why was she getting anxious again? Was it because she would have to put Marco aside once more?
Adaline went wide-eyed as Thatch smiled and slapped his knees getting up. "Well then a heavenly breakfast for you?" He asked Adaline who looked from the twirling Domino to the smiling man. His hair ruffled and falling flat framing his happy and hopeful face.
"What? No." She stated to Thatch before pointing at Domino who spotted her jacket crumpled over a good few feet away from her.
"There it is." She mumbled and walked happily towards it. Only she stopped when Marco's shadow appeared looming over it.
"Dom, you can not just 'nah' a direct order!" She stated moving to sit before once again sitting down. "That's not how that works." She huffed crossing her arms.
Domino stared at Marco who only sent back a teasing smile in response. "You're on my jacket." She stated coldly arms crossed but body relaxed. Marco looked down and lifted his sandaled foot with a tilted head.
He shook his head 'tch'tch'tch. "You shouldn't leave your trash on the ground marine-yoi." He asked her with a smile holding up the dirt covered jacket with two fingers as if he hated touching it. He did not know why he loved seeing the rise out of her. Maybe it was his way of dishing out how he felt when she left. A little tease here and there. That didn't hurt.
It did. It did hurt.. All of this hurt.
Domino's eyes went wide as she shook her head. "Yet y'all are still lying around?" She asked placing a hand to her cheek and smiling.
Before calling out to Adaline. "I can. And I will. What they gonna do, they haven't tried before?" She scoffed while trying to grab the jacket away from Marco.
He only smiled as he pulled it away from her. "Oh, So close-yoi."
Adaline looked up to see Thatch shaking his head mumbling about how Marco still doesn't know how to flirt with a woman. Then he turned to her. "Do you want eggs, or something else, a fruit tray maybe?" He asked her with a happy smile.
She looked between the two scenes then shook her head. "What? No, I just said we aren't staying." She now moved to get up.
Gator plopped himself on the hard ground tugging an unwilling Avery with him. "This is gonna take a while." He sighed throwing his arms back and staring up at the sky above.
"I just said, i'm not going." Domino called eyeing her jacket and pulling for it one more time only to miss in a grand fashion. The uneven ground tripping her up and causing her to laugh along with Marco at how unsteady she was.
Domino reached for her jacket again. "That's not funny!" She yelped as she missed once more. Marco nodded with a smile. "I think it is-yoi."
Adaline went wide-eyed and slapped her arm in the air. "And I just said, that's not how that works!" She shouted while a grumbly voice erupted from the crowd silencing everyone.
"AND I SAY SHUT THE HELL UP YOU UNGRATEFUL BRATS!" Whitebeard's loud and angry voice rang silencing everyone. Domino found herself letting her head fall low covering her ears before shaking her head and turning around to reach for her jacket again.
The pirates that had yet to wake up now jolted upright weapons almost at the ready before they realized where they were and laid back down not caring for the new noise. It's something you get used to after all.
Adaline took in a deep breath and crossed her arms looking down. "Sorry, sir." She mumbled.
Domino scoffed while taking a step back inspecting how Marco looked with the jacket draped over his shoulders. The pair both showed obvious distaste at the sight as Marco inspected himself.
"Ahh, Look at you, Thinking of switching sides are we?" She asked with mock amusement. Trying to hide her look of disgust with a smile.
Marco frowned and shook his head, walking towards his hung over father. Who was now giving him the same look of disgust.
"It's itchy-yoi." He stated nonchalantly.
Domino rolled her eyes then gave a half glance to her beautiful and pouting best friend. "Ada, please don't apologize, If anything it's my fault Mr. Old man, is mad. I didn't technically ask for permission?" She moved to tap her finger against her elbow.
"But we aren't AWOL either, Soo there's that." She shrugged while Marco inspected the way the marine's jacket flowed out from the top and caught the breeze easily fanning out at his legs to only drop back towards the ground.
"Why's it so big-yoi?" He asked Domino who only shrugged turning to face them as one of the pirates snickered.
"Never heard that one huh commander?" The crew laughed.
Domino rolled her eyes walking closer to Marco not willing to leave his side yet. "It's not really for wearing. Also, he has." She stated coldly and moved to lean away from Marco who only went wide-eyed at what she was beginning to say next. "I mean, He's actually pretty bi-"
"That's enough outta-you marine-yoi." He quickly cut her off his cheeks red as she looked at him confused. "What, you shy?" She teased him.
He looked away defeated and red faced. He lost. Damn.
The crews laughter carried the morning hangovers away giving rise to new jokes and wide smiles. Adaline, took in the second to see how comfortable the scarred Marine looked among the pirates then shook her head deciding that this moment was needed.
No one knew what fate had planned for them. So for now she would just go with the flow. Allowing Thatch to be a gentlemen, and Marco to kiss Domino so openly.
Adaline smiled.
"Welcome back, Dom." She giggled folding the paper and placing it in her bra. The safest place to store anything really.
"I should say the same to you? Look at how cute you are?" Domino practically cooed smiling while pulling away from Marco. She then placed her hands on her hips proudly. "So Operation R.A.D. was a success?" She asked while Marco now posed in the jacket to roars of boo's and his laughter behind the Marine.
Adaline rolled her eyes. "Sure, but R.A.D.? What is that supposed to mean?" She asked as Domino smiled crossing her arms trying to keep from slapping Marco who now was getting pelted with drinks in her jacket.
"Don't get it dirty!" She half heartedly sighed before looking at Adaline and dancing a little.
"Reassurance, Affirmation, and Dic..."
"Domino!" Avery's deep and harsh voice cut the crew's laughter and Domino's speech off. The crowd going very quiet.
Domino snapped her eyes towards Avery the aura around her changing and her arms dropped as Adaline looked between the two and jumped up sensing how tense the situation just got. "Shit..." She mumbled and quickly walked over to Avery and tilted her head.
"You don't need to sound like that, do you?" She asked him lightly as Domino's smirk found its way back to her face.
"What?" Her cold voice shocking everyone at how she now seemed so stern.
Marco looked up from where he was at and saw as Domino's stern and tall figure was facing away from him. Suddenly he went wide-eyed and let out a sharp curse to himself as he moved to take off her jacket.
Due to Domino's relaxed state she had forgotten two key things she should never have forgotten no matter the fact she called these people friends.
1. Pirates and Marines alike knew what a mark like the one she had meant.
2. Tank tops sometimes pull themselves up if not held down properly.
Adaline shook her head lightly and covered her eyes. "Your tank top, Girl," She whispered as Domino suddenly broke her calm stance and moved her hand to trace the mark on her back and sighed as the weight of her jacket hit her shoulders bringing her body and mood down all in one motion.
"Oh," She mumbled softly. How could she so be relaxed? Damn that birdy, this wasn't like her at all.
She was always focused always, always. Ugh... "Thanks'" She whispered pulling the jacket over her shoulders fixing the weight that held her down.
Marco appeared beside her a light arm around her shoulder. "It'd never fit me, anyway-yoi." He stated lightly as she gave a weak smile looking up at him before it grew wider and she nudged him.
"Walk naked and proud right?" She asked him lightly as he narrowed his eyes. "If you do that I will have no choice but to take you hostage-yoi". He whispered to himself with a mischievous smile on his face.
She shook her head with a smile and moved to button the top half leaving the rest to flare out at her waist. Then looking up at her crew (Ignoring Marco) "So you saw it huh? What you gonna do? Turn me in?" She asked what meant to be a question but came out more as a threat.
Adaline bit her lip as Thatch, who was returning from a 'fruit-ful' mission of acquiring food for the goddess, watched as the redhead tried to hide her eyes as if she had seen something she wanted to forget. He looked up in confusion as the rest of the crew looked the same way. "Hey?" He asked but was quickly swept away in the tension of the crews.
Gator looked from the woman with the vicious smile staring them down then shook his head. What would he care about the Rear Admirals past. "Way over my paygrade, sir." He sighed holding his eyes shut.
Adaline smiled easing up at the response knowing that they would not lose a navigator.
Jean closed his eyes and looked away. A simple motion but a life saving one none the less.
Avery however shook his bald head. Angry at his Rear Admirals choices but torn. "I've known about it...But.." He trailed off as Domino nodded and crossed her arms.
Standing tall and proud refusing to show her men how much her body really burned with anxious energy.
"But?" Her cold voice stern and matching the vicious and 'try me' smirk on her face. She was used to chains. Nothing she couldn't break out of.
But? But her chest was tight and she was debating on how to explain to Garp that she needed a new ships doctor. Simply because she killed hers in a nervous fit. Oh god.. Suddenly she needed a drink. Up until now she was perfectly sober. But now she wanted to just pop open a bottle and chug.
The burning alcohol would scorch away the vicious thoughts that made her smile with a blood lust.
Avery saw the look in her eyes and suddenly backed off. It wasn't just the Rear Admiral that glared at him but the Towering Phoenix sending off a aggressive aura.
Unknown to Domino of course.
. "It would be against a doctors code to inflict harm." He stated as she scoffed and sat back on her legs.
"That's a relief. I was worried i'd lose a doctor for a second." She smiled before turning to Adaline who shook her head.
"Don't say it like that! Girl!" She yelped as Domino shrugged and looked up at Marco. A light smile stretching across her face. "Too much?" She asked.
He wasn't going to let her know he was debating on wiping out the marines in this one second to claim her as his. Instead he was going to let her do it herself. When she was ready.
Hopefully sooner rather then later.
"Just a little-yoi." He teased pinching his fingers together as Whitebeard called out.
"You're a surprising Marine that's for sure." He smiled holding out a drink to her. Where he got it from. No one knew. No one asked. You try asking an emperor where he gets his booze? See if it goes well for you.
She smiled. "You've no idea." She then looked back towards Jean who was now fumbling with the large snail. Seeing as it began to buzz and demand everyone's attention.
"Oh shit! Jean. Who's on the line?" She asked lightly. But her wrist twisting beside her leg. Marco noticed how it twisted and how uncalm her voice sounded. Though he was sure to anyone else she pulled it off as being stern. He glanced over at Adaline who eyed the woman just as he did. Then they exchanged glances and she rolled her eyes looking away and shaking her head.
"Oh, um Akainu sir." He stated fixing the cord and holding something to his ear to check if it was still on. He was more worried he had forgotten to properly put it on hold and Navy HQ just heard their whole conversation. That would be bad. But luckily it was not the case.
However, there were more then just those five marines with the pirates.
The calmness in Jean's voice was halted when he watched how quickly Adaline whipped her body around to face him as Domino chocked on her own breath and instantly reached for the snail. Both of their eyes nearly popping from the sockets as they stammered forward.
"Flipping fuck this early?" She sent her hand through her hair and blinked. "Why, Didn't you say anything, before all of this, you idiot?!" She gasped ignoring the pirates as Adaline sent her hands to her hair as well before relaxing as Thatch held out a plate of food towards her.
"Jean! Do you have no idea how much trouble this can...Oh." She looked down and smiled at the plate of arranged fruits before beaming at a smiling Thatch. "Okay this... I'll allow." She mumbled with a happy hum taking the plate away from him and moving aside so he may sit.
Her Rear Admiral got her in to this mess, she would get her out of it. So all Ada needed to do was enjoy the fruit.
Domino looked up at Adaline dinning on cubed fruits and pointed to the snail with wide eyes as the pirate crew now grumbled for food of their own.
(The pervious incident not mattering to them. Who were they to care.)
Thatch happily nodded and pointed to a stack of leftover food from last night. How dare he waste his precious time with an Angel. They had legs, they could use them.
"What do I do?" Domino mouthed. As Jean looked back and forth. "I dropped the ball sir?" He asked. "What Marine sleeps with pirates?" He stated back as Gator flinched at the sharp sound of a hand against Jean's head.
No one saw the assailant they just heard the loud thud and the sad sound of the mans yelp as he plummeted towards the ground.
Adaline blew on her hand lightly unsure herself who smacked Jean, yet her hand really did burn right now. "A missed call from Akainu can mean life or death, Especially when it comes to your Rear Admiral." She rolled her eyes while Domino nodded fumbling for the mic to hold it right only to change it's position.
"Besides, you can not hold us responsible for your poor planning. This was your operation. You must have known what you were planning." She stated calmly plopping another fruit in her mouth with pursed lips and an voice of authority..
Marco moved over to sit next to Adaline while quickly snatching a piece of fruit off her plater. The red head sent him a glare while Thatch tried to swat it away. That failed as he happily plopped a piece of fruit in his mouth. Adaline shrugged handing Thatch back the plate.
"As for you Girl." She took in a deep breath and pointed to Domino who stared at the un-connected call. "You talk to him politely." She stated and held out both hands.
Domino nodded and grabbed the microphone. "Dom, Seriously, we are in no position to piss him off okay?" Adaline asked with a leading voice as Domino looked at the pirates who watched her eagerly and then to Jean (With a large bump on his head) who gave her a thumbs up as she kneeled by the snail.
"Right, right." She then took in a deep breath and clicked the microphone. "What the Hell do you want you magma dog piece of shit?" She asked with a snarl in her voice.
Adaline gasped. "That's the opposite of what I said!" She yelled as the pirates had a mixture of laughter and worried glances. The other three marines simultaneously went unconscious.
Marco placed a hand on his knee to cover his smile at how the red head with messy hair gave a face of absolute horror before seeing Domino mimic the same face as Akainu spoke.
"Took you long enough you disgrace for a marine!" His heavy voice snarled back.
Domino tilted her head and ran her hand through her hair as Adaline put her face in her hands. "Morin Dogshit. Now what you want?" She asked him again to the pirates wide eyes.
Marco watched as her fingers stayed in her hair attempting to not pull the hair from her roots.
Adaline just angrily chomped down on more fruit.
He looked back to the Whitebeards seeing they had formed semi circles judging the responses with approving nods. Some were even making score cards from 1-10 to rate her insults.
"Who do you think you are? You damn disgrace!"
Domino scoffed. "Same to you? You think I have time to talk to the likes of you? Shit I'd rather watch fungus grow." She scoffed with a smirk.
Why did she want to die? Why did she speak so...so like this?
Marco and Thatch looked down at Adaline's silent sobs as she continued to eat.
"We're going to die. This is so good..This is my last meal.." She cried silently.
They then looked back up as Domino rolled her eyes. They had missed a part of the conversation.
"Oh SO what I destroyed the gate? They wanted me to pay them in booze, That's called bribery, And I should say I am 100 percent against it.'" She snickered.
"Listen here..." Akainu started before he paused. Adaline sat straight as Domino leaned in an eyebrow raised. She held up a finger a surprised smile finding her face as the snail Akainu sighed.
"Rear Admiral, may I remind you of the position you are in?" He stated sternly causing Domino's smile to drop as she shook her head. "Might as well, you get a sick kick out of it anyway." She stated through gritted teeth her eyes averting from the pirates. She was serious. She already reveled one of her greatest secerts, might as well tell the whole goddamn world what she was.
Why not? It wasn't like the fake world around her was crumbling. It wasn't like she was feeling her body burn with anxiety. It wasn't like she was losing herself and regretted not being sober. No...no.. what was she doing anymore?
Adaline rolled her eyes and moved to get up pushing the plate aside. "We are compromised. Here." She mumbled as she softly approached Domino. Her figure moving as if to comfort the woman. Yet the look in her baby blue eyes said other wise.
"I have some interesting files about an island in the South Blue, called Calla, you wouldn't happen to know about it would you?" His voice stern and leading.
That was all Domino needed. Her eyes hollowed out as her left hand embedded itself in the green grass. The crew watched in awe as the area around her began to decay and dry up as she tilted her head. "Careful, Sakazuki ,-." She started with a mischievous smirk before looking up at the growing shadow before her. She pulled the microphone lightly.
"I've made you bleed before and i'll damn well do it-
"Wha~"
"THWACK."
"Adawine!" Domino's grumbled in the ground spitting dirt away from her mouth.
Marco looked from a face planted Domino to Thatch who was entranced with Adaline holding the microphone in one hand with a heel holding Domino against the ground. Her other on her hip as she flipped her hair.
Marco (not being affected by her charm) quickly took this chance to grab more fruit. Smiling when he found a piece of pineapple and plopped it in his mouth once more.
He figure it out already, Adaline really was saving Domino from hurting herself more. Hell he could tell the woman was unraveling but there was only so much he would allow himself to do. So instead he pushed aside his wants of being by her side and happily ate fruit. Well not happily. But, it was fresh pineapple.
Adaline sent a sharp glare silencing everyone and rolled her eyes clicking the microphone. "Forgive us sir for the troubles we caused." She started her voice sweet and somewhat sultry.
Domino whos face was mushed against the ground looked up at the wonderful beauty above her and murmured. "Tell him he's a piece of shit!." To which Adaline buried her heel further against Domino's back causing the woman to yelp and stay down.
Gator, Avery and Jean still passed out swirls in their eyes.
"Ah, Adaline, Finally someone competent. Good work on capturing Morgen, I hear a promotion is in the works for you?" He asked as Adaline flipped her hair and moved to sit on Domino who only groaned about her fat ass.
"Morgen? Do you mean the Rum Maker?" Whitebeard's booming voice asked.
Domino leaned her head against her arm accepting defeat and nodded. "Yeah, the dude was a real ugly one. I mean he was in everything that threatens their justice, the dude even has ties to this nasty underground emperor, Raphael the Crimson Tie." She took a deep breath. "And I mean that guy has a lot of zeros to his name." She smiled placing a hand to her round cheek.
Of course he would, he was her brother after all and she would expect nothing less from someone of her own blood. A blood she would never spill and always fought for. A blood that was so worthy that she chained herself to the marines for it. A blood that, would never harm her. Right?
"Damn, I liked his rum..." Whitebeard frowned then looked up at the scene of the two woman. The Red Head sitting with her legs crossed a top the smiling marine. Who's legs where now kicking up and down absently.
"Yeah, it was really good. I stol-" She stopped "Um, confiscated a lot of what's left. Y'all can have some!" She smiled when Adaline slapped the back of her head.
"Commodore who's that?" Akainu's voice shouted. Adaline looked up from the grumbling Domino towards the pirates biting her lip and looking around when Domino slapped the microphone away from the red head with a vicious smirk.
She quickly clicked the microphone.
"Their pirates! You piece of shit who else would we go AWOL for?!" She asked with a snarl in her voice.
Adaline took in another sharp breath and instead threw herself down on the taller woman pulling at her arms while Domino held the microphone out of reach.
"What pathetic lies, you tell marine." He stated sternly as Domino sent a 'see?' look towards Adaline who took in a deep breath and nodded before looking at the empty tray of fruit and a guilty looking Thatch and Marco.
"Believe what you want." She waived him off. "Now what do you want? You're voice is ruining my mood y'know?" She smiled watching Adaline walk over towards Thatch and Marco pointing at the empty plate.
"May I please have some more?" She asked softly.
Marco's response was a half lidded gaze while pointing to the same pile Thatch had told the crew to get food from. "Knock yourself out-yoi." He smiled playfully.
Thatch's response was hitting the blonde man on the shoulder and going to get some fresh fruit. "Of course my Angel." Thatch winked.
Adaline let a wide smile cover her face while Izo slowly leaned in the picture. Giving the red head seductress a 'I know your up to something look' before Dominos sharp words brought the attention back to her.
"Listen here you brick faced fuck." She started practically growling in the microphone. "You send in a ship of recruits towards that island and the ground would be stained with their blood." She stated sternly her eyes narrowed and locked on the ground before she tilted her head.
"Or is that not eloquently worded enough for you?" She asked while Adaline looked back and forth and held out her hands looking at the wide eyes of the pirates.
"Whoa whoa what just happened?" She frantically looked back an forth.
Domino rolled her eyes and held up a finger as Akainu's voice rang through.
"You are in No position to make such claims. They are my men, and I shall do with them as I see fit. Now you Are Going to go back to the New World and defend our justice!" He stated.
Domino ran her hand through her hair while leaning over her knees. Marco who had hung over every word that was spoken looked down at a confused Adaline. "He said your ship was to report to the 55th27th-yoi?" He asked curiously.
Adaline took in a sharp breath then slowly looked up at Thatch who watched her with growing worry.
"That's..." She cleared her throat and shook her head collecting herself once more. "That's a green..Er um a ship full of recruits, Lead by a Captain, I believe. And he's sending them to a war front correct?" She whispered before Domino's voice broke out again.
"Senseless death is never justice no matter who you're fighting-."
"HA! Senseless death Rear Admiral? I believe there is an expression that goes with this. Oh yes a pot calling the kettle black? Or is Calla a distant memory?"
"You son of a bitch." Domino growled before going silent and looking up at Adaline and made a motion to get up.
Adaline did so with a quick nod dusting herself off. To Thatch's protest. She gave him a light smile then leaned in to kiss him softly. He didn't know what happened but melted in to the kiss to gasps of the crew.
"Listen here Magma dog, If by the time I get there those men aren't pulled out of those waters i'll make sure to drag your ass down there so you can die with us." Dominos cold voice stated sternly before she clanked the microphone shut and took a deep breath.
"Gator as soon as we get to the ship set a course for Grando island. Jean, get every vessel within reach and get them before we break those waters or else we'll be going in with no way back out. and Avery." She paused as the men started to get up while she still sat with her hand in her hair looking over her knee before looking up at him.
Her honey eyes staring down his one blue one.
"Yes sir?"
"Get your med team on standby, we're going right in. I'm not using Babies as decoys." She stated sternly standing up and removing the over weighted equipment from the snail and watched as he then began to buzz away. There was no sense in anymore marines being held hostage.
"Ada, i'm sorry. " She smiled looking up at the pirates who watched the woman before them in awe. "But," She closed one eye and looked at the petite red head. "We can't play pirate no more." She sighed.
Adaline pulled herself from Thatch with a light squeeze of the hand before moving briskly across the gap and headed with the rest of the marines back towards the ship. "It was a nice try, Dom. The sentiment counts but.. we know.." She smiled placing a hand on Domino's shoulder before looking back and giving a light bow towards the Whitebeards.
"Thank you once again, for allowing us on your island." She smiled before walking off.
Domino looked back from Adaline disappearing among the colors of the island and sighed meeting Marco's eyes.
She gave a light smile. "Sorry for being disruptive." She gave a half wave. She looked away from Marco's worried glance then gave a nod to Whitebeard and a half finger salute before quickly turning around unable to look them in the eyes once more.
"see you okay, Birdy?" She called, the unease in her voice evident and driving him with worry.
Yet he shook it out of his head and held up his head crossing his arms. "Hey Marine?" He called watching as her figure stopped and her head tilted lightly as if looking at him.
"The offer still stands-yoi." He stated calmly feeling a warmth spread through his body as he caught a glimpse of a crazy smile on her cheek before she turned away facing the horizon.
The justice symbol swaying with her hips as she once again started on her walk away from the phoenix. "Promise?" She whispered unknowing if he heard it from how far she was.
If he did or not, she kept walking none the less knowing deep down that if she so much as heard another word from him she would turn away from everything.
She would turn from her brothers, She would turn from her islands charred past, She would turn from the very marines that she had grown to love.
She would turn from it all, if only she had more strength. But for now, she was a coward. So she would head towards that island. And she would win. Then, she would find Phoenix again and again, however many times she needed to.
After all, the two lovers were still in a war of their own.
