Chapter 16
"So you were his companion in battle, a long time ago?" I asked. The two of us were walking outside, around in the field. "How did you two meet, anyway? Did he find you somewhere, or..." I trailed, not really knowing another suggestion to come up with.
"It wasn't he, who found me. It was his wife, who did." she answered.
"His wife?" I repeated. "Gyokuro?" I suggested, questionably holding a finger to my chin. It probably had to be Gyokuro, who'd found her.
"No." she shook her head, hinting that was incorrect. "Akasha; his very first love of his life." Akasha? Where have a heard that name? It suddenly hit me, like a strip of lightening. That's right! I remember Gyokuro talking about her. She was the one, who found Luna?
"Are you talking about one of the brilliant fighters? I remember Gyokuro telling me all about her."
I watched Luna nod. "She indeed was a brilliant fighter. She was the leader of the Dark Lords. She was a very worthy opponent for others, she crossed paths with." Luna explained, sitting on her paws.
"Gyokuro also told me, that she was a hero to most people. Is what I heard really true? That's she's a hero, I mean..." I watched the feline nodded in approval, I was right. "What exactly was she like? For some reason, I've always got this feeling that I knew her from somewhere, when I heard her name." I added. "And you mentioned something about me having some "gifted power".
Luna sighed, turning on her heels. "Moka, I think it's time you know the truth." she said. "The truth about your life and yourself as well. You see, Moka. Akasha...she's your-"
She was cut short, when a loud rumble erupted in the air. I flinched around towards the loud sound. I instantly became scared, when I saw it was a huge demon. I didn't know what kind of demon it was, it just looked so weird. "Ahh, you look so tasty, but so beautiful to eat." said the demon in front of me. I took a few steps back, scared for my life. Why should I be scared? I'm a half-demon, so I shouldn't be afraid of my own shadow. "Now. don't move you lovely thing. It would only last a second, once I lick you first and sink my teeth into your delicate skin."
I felt utterly disturbed by its words. I knew that I couldn't defend...not like this at least. I looked down towards the only thing, that might help me; the rosary. I wasted no time trying to remove the rosary, but like always it wouldn't budge from its spot. If only there were some way to remove it.
"Moka, in front of you!" shouted an urgent Luna.
I obviously wasn't quick enough, when I felt a giant grip, squeeze on me. I struggled, when I saw its hand makes its way to my face. I shivered at the cold feeling of the claws on my skin. "My... Such soft skin, you have. I wonder how much you'll taste, once I devour you."
My eyes shot open as I was pulled closer to the demon's mouth. The only thing I could do, was just grasp onto my rosary and just hope that I'm still alive.
My eyes suddenly popped open, when I heard the demon growl in pain. I was out of its grasp as the cold air hit me. I shut my eyes tightly, waiting for the hard impact to connect with my body.
I felt warm arms wrap themselves around my body. I opened my eyes and to my surprise, my savior was the person, I didn't expect to see.
"Kouga, it's you!" I exclaimed, feeling a little happiness surge through my body.
A smirk made its way to his face. "And the flesh, sweet face." He gently set me on my feet, once we were on land. "Hey, Moka. How've you been?" he greeted.
"I've been okay, I guess." I told him. "What are you doing here? Aren't you suppose be looking after your comrades?"
"Well, I was. But I kept getting this bad feeling, that you might be in danger, so I couldn't just leave it alone."
"Lookout!" I shouted, when I saw the demon approaching behind him. I screamed in horror, when it swiped at Kouga, sending him away from me. I wasted no time in rushing over to his aid. "Kouga! Kouga, can you hear me?! Are you alright?!"
I heard him chuckle, despite the pain he felt. "As if a weak, little scratch could stop me from saving you." he smiled, his hand reaching towards my face.
"Kouga..." I whispered, not knowing the words to respond with. Despite his injuries, he's still willing to protect me.
"Just hang in there, Kouga. Don't give up, just yet." I suddenly felt a warm and fuzzy feeling surge through my body. Not just any regular feeling. Something, that feels like that's growing inside of me. It felt warm and pleasant. Like I was being recovered again.
I desperately held Kouga closer to me, when the demon approached the both of us. "Aww, how sweet. Look at you being protective over such a weakling. Don't worry, you can join along with him, inside by belly that is." Like the demon exactly promised, it wasted no time reaching for us. I waited for the hand to grasp one of us, however it never came, except for a loud roar of pain from the demon.
My eyes shot open in sheer shocked. Another person of all people I didn't expect to see, saved me from being killed. "Inuyasha!"
I instantly lost happiness, when I saw him throw a glare towards my way. "How could you let such a pathetic demon beat you?"
I went to answer, only to have Luna cut in. "Are you alright, Moka? Are you hurt anywhere?"
"Wait a minute! What the hell?!" Inuyasha uttered out in shocked. "A talking cat?! No way!"
"What, you've never seen a talking cat before. Honestly, don't be such a wimp." Luna snickered.
"Grr. Who you calling a wimp?" Inuyasha growled, looking as if he were about to kill the cat.
"Moka? Is everything alright?" said a familiar male voice. Oh no... Issa-san... Everything went silent. I knew there was a shocked look on his face. "Luna...is that you?" he asked, looking at the cat, shocked, before turning to Inuyasha. "And who are you, half-demon?"
"Issa-san, I can explain." I started, my insides twisting around in panic and fear. To make matters worse, a loud roar suddenly filled in the air.
"Looks like we're not done, yet." Inuyasha said, steadying his sword. I held my hand out in front of him. "What are you doing, Moka? Why are you stopping me?"
I looked back at him, with a serious filled-look. "Let me handle this." I advised.
"What are you, nuts?! You can't fight back!" he yelled. I looked down, feeling a hurt that he said that. He was right. I can't fight back. I couldn't fight back...not in this form at least.
"Pull on my rosary." I commanded, gesturing towards the cross, around my neck.
"What?!" he yelled, as if he didn't know why.
"Just do it!" I yelled. Without another word, he pulled off the rosary as hard as he could. As the pink light surrounded me, my whole world went into darkness.
Inuyasha's P.O.V
I watch the "no-longer sweet Moka", stare down the demon, her face filled with a cold expression. I can no longer sensed the fear, coming off her body. She just stood there, looking bold and strong in the other Moka's place.
I watched as the demon started to mock Moka. I honestly thought, that him of all demons shouldn't underestimate this side of Moka, like he did the other Moka. Before I could even blink, the demon was sent a hundred feet high above in the sky.
The Moka, that I barely knew turn around, her eyes directed straight at me. She sauntered over to me, her eyes never leaving me for a split second. At first, I thought she was here to collect the cross from me, but boy was I did wrong! Instead of collecting the rosary, like I thought, I get a slap in the face. I mean literally, I slap in the face. "What the hell was that for?!" I yelled, holding on to my cheek, that was throbbing in pain.
"You listen to me, you don't understand a single thing about her, so don't pretend like you do. You're a little boy, who can't think of anyone but himself. Consider her feelings sometime." she growled, snatching the cross out of my hand, before walking away. Ouch. She really did a number on me. "She was crying her eyes out." she added. Turns out that I wasn't completely sorry, as I thought I was before. I really hurt her.
3rd Person's P.O.V
Issa stared at the newly retrieving form of Moka. He wasn't completely sure if his eyes were playing tricks on him, or not. "Could she be... No, she couldn't be..." he began, not knowing what to say, or think.
"What troubles you, Lord Issa?" Luna questioned.
"Luna...her form. Could she possibly be..."
"Yes. I'm pretty sure, Lord Issa. And from what I'm seeing by her form, I'll have to say she's the one, you've been looking for all these years."
"So she's the one?"
"Yes. She's your daughter, Lord Issa." Luna said, her eyes never leaving him.
To be continued...
I'm just going to stop there for now. Short chapter, I know but I kind of have other fanfics to work on.
