A/N- I rewatched Let Fate Decide ( NCISLA ) I still wished it had ended different. Well here's my way to end it.

They just stood there looking at each other. Neither one knew what else to say at that moment. Finally Mac stood up and walked away from the bar. Harm just stayed where he was at.

It wasn't pride that kept him from going after her. It was fear, fear that he'd hurt her again. He couldn't do that, he couldn't put them through that agin. But damn it, he just couldn't let her go again either. So he ran after her. Catching her just as she entered the elevator.

She was stunned when she saw him enter. Both just stood looking at each other. Until Harm hit the stop button.

"What are you doing? I've got a plane to catch."

"I'm not letting you walk away, not without answering your question. The reason we aren't husband and wife is all on me. I didn't want to hurt you in an unforgettable way. When the opportunity came around for the carrier. I knew I wanted that. I had wanted that my whole life. But than I thought about what could happen if I took it, I might die and leave you a widow, or worse." Harm paused

"Why didn't you just talk to me,instead of shutting me out. All this time I thought I did something once again to push away the man I love."

"Oh Sarah, it was never you. It was me. All me, and now I can't let you walk away again. I can't just let you leave. I need you ..."

Before Harm could finish, Mac crashed her lips to his and pushed him up against the wall. At first Harm was shocked by her sudden actions. Than he responded to her by deepening the kiss. They made out like this for a while. Letting their bodies reconnect with each other. When they finally pulled away, they just stood in each other's embrace.

"Harm where does this leave us now?"

"I'm past letting Fate Decide, I'm-past being scared. I'm ready to be with you."

Mac didn't know how to tell him this next part. But she felt he needed to know. "Harm before we move on there's something you need to know."

"What?"

She gathered her thoughts. "I... I have a 8 month old daughter back in DC."

"You have a daughter?"

"Yes"

Harm was suddenly taken aback. He didn't know how to respond to this news. "Before you jump to the wrong conclusion, I adopted her. I wanted a baby. I know we talked about adopting."

"Sarah I think it's great. I always new you'd make a great mom. I'm just sorry I couldn't give you a baby."

"Harm that was never your fault, I was the one."

"Shhhh..." Harm placed his fingers on Mac's lips. "No you don't get to blame yourself for that. I should have never pushed you as hard. And well." Harm now looked down at the floor.

"I know. I miss him too.."

"He just wasn't strong enough Sarah. I'm sorry i know what he meant to you. I saw it in your eyes the first time we where able to hold him."

Mac smiled at the memory. "He was perfect, he was just like you." Mac went over to Harms arms. She found herself sobbing into his dark blue shirt. "I miss him Harm. Part of myself died that day."

He held her to him, both sobbing. "He's with dad now." He just held her onto her tight. Finally she looked up at him. "I wanted him Harm."

"I know you did, so did I. But at least we had him for a short amount of time. Tell me about your daughter?"

"Well why don't we leave this elevator first."

"We can do that, just as long as we leave together!"

"I'm willing if you are?"

"I not letting you walk away from me again Mac. I'm in it for the long haul." Mac hit the button to restart the elevator. They rode the rest of the way down.

Once they where in the lobby of the hotel. They walked outside, both looking around. Finally Mac spoke. "I'll meet you in DC Flyboy."

"Deal." Mac gave Harm one last look. Turning she went to hail a cab. Harm stood watching, damn he thought I can't let her leave. He ran to her just as she started to get into the cab.

"Mac" She backed up and turned around. "Give me 72 hours and I'll be in DC, I just need to tie up loose ends on the ship."

"Okay; just let me know when and where, and we will be there."

Pulling her into one last kiss, he sealed his new promise to her.
