One hot summer day in the land of Soleanna, Princess Elise was getting ready to go down to the beach for some relaxation, cooling off and a little break from her duties.
She was just getting her bikini, some sun lotion, a towel and a nice pair of sandals when her attendant, Elsa, came in and asked, "Your highness, what are you doing?"
Elise stopped what she was doing and answered her attendant's query, "I'm going to the beach to cool off and relax in the summer sun, Elsa. Being in charge of a city is hard these days, sometimes a princess needs a break now and again."
"That's what I figured, your highness. Monarchs do need a break, I almost suggested that but you were already packing. Remember when you went down to the pool resort?"
"Yes," Elise remembered, "You and most of my handmaidens were with me. I do need a breather from time to time."
"See you later, your highness." Elsa said with a sweet wink.
Around 11:30 A.M, Elise departed the castle with her bag in hand and wearing sandals as well as a nice simple bathrobe over her nice, red and white colored shoe lace bikini.
As she headed towards Emerald Beach, people in the city stopped what they were doing for a moment to show their humble respects towards their dear princess.
Within a good 15 minutes, about a quarter to twelve in the afternoon, Elise reached Emerald Beach, the prettiest beach of all sea resorts. She decided it was time to get out of those robes so she could just be a regular girl at the beach in a bathing suit ready for a nice sunny day at the ocean.
Elise untied the bundle around her bathrobe with her left hand, the one where she wasn't carrying her summer purse, and let it drop to the sandy ground. There she stood in her sandals and her nice red and white striped bikini.
The lovely princess stood there, letting the sun shine upon her face and taking in the scenery around her from the water, to the sky and the palm trees, which stood on majority of the seaside.
She breathed in the nice, warm summer air though it was a bit hot . After standing there for a few minutes, looking nice in her bathing suit, Elise walked to the middle of the beach and kicked off her sandals. She felt the hot sand on her feet and breathed in the fresh summer air before deciding to start sunbathing.
Elise set her purse down and kneeled down to get some stuff out of it. She got out her sunglasses and put them on over her lovely eyes. Then she got out her blue towel for after she went swimming and, finally, her green beach blanket.
Elise laid the blanket out on the sand and made some adjustments to it first, she fluffed it and smoothed it out until finally it was perfect.
The Soleenian princess walked over and plopped down on the blanket next to her towel and put her hands behind her head like she was relaxing which she was.
Elise breathed in the salty sea water air, since she was near the ocean, and closed her eyes as if she was taking a nap, but she was only sun tanning. In a little bit she would go swimming. Nothing could interrupt her peaceful summer day, nothing at all. Except…
"Hey, Elise, long time no see."
Elise opened her eyes and raised her sunglasses, completely shocked.
Standing next to her, with green eyes, blue fur, slenderness, gloveless, wearing blue swim shorts and barefoot without his trademark shoes was Sonic the Hedgehog. Elise had not seen the blue blur in a few months since the whole Solaris/Mephiles/Iblis fiasco.
The sinister Doctor Eggman had tried to get his hands on Flames of Disaster so he could take over the world, but Eggman never succeeded and the world was almost destroyed thanks to Solaris. Thankfully, Sonic managed to stop the evil deity.
After taking down Solaris, Sonic and Elise had gone back to the past to ensure that what had happened never happened. The solution, blow out Solaris when it was just a tiny flame. Elise did the honors and things were okay.
She had been hoping that she'd eventually meet Sonic again, though their first meeting did not happen due to taking out Solaris in the past, and now she was seeing her hero again.
"Sonic?" Elise was a bit confused, "Is that really you? Am I dreaming?
Sonic grinned, "Of course it's me, Elise. It hasn't been that long."
Elise sat up, a tear streaming down her cheek, "I... I thought I would never see you again after we parted ways."
"Hey. We can't remain apart forever you know. We should play catch up."
"Ok, what's been happening and what are you doing here?"
Sonic told Elise that he had come down to the beach for a little break from his recent adventures and saving the world from Eggman again. He'd just arrived when he saw Elise sun tanning and decided to spend some time with her. Sonic DID have feelings for her in the end, just as Elise had actually grown to love him.
Once Sonic's story was done, Elise told her story. After they had parted ways, things went on as normal following the Festival of the Sun, even though Elise had vague memories of the Solaris disaster.
In the days afterwards, Elise had continued her duties as princess and monarch, rarely thinking of her hero. As of a few days ago, she'd nearly forgotten about Sonic and, now, seeing him again, it made Elise happy.
"Wow!" Sonic gave a thumbs up, "You're taking things well, living life to the fullest and you remember my advice to always smile. I love the smile that's on your face right now." Elise giggled, "Thank you so much, Sonikku."
Sonic's face turned red, "Sonikku?"
Elise broke into a laugh, "What? You didn't expect me to figure out what the Japanese translation for your name was. Besides, I know Japanese and I picked it up from Amy during a... private talk regarding boys."
Sonic stammered with surprise, "Y-you actually got that… from Amy?" The princess smirked and pulled the hedgehog into a kiss to stop him from going further. "That…!" Sonic exclaimed, "Was the best kiss ever."
Elise blushed, "Anyway, we could use some relaxation and you're welcome to join me, Mr. Hedgehog."
"Just call me Sonic, ok? Would you like me to rub some sunscreen on your back?" Sonic held up a can of sunscreen.
"That's sweet of you, handsome. Yes, I'd love you to rub some sunscreen on."
"Want a massage with it?"
"Uh, sure."
Elise lay down on her stomach and undid the knot on her bikini top, letting the laces fall to the side as the speedy blue hero removed the lid on the sunscreen can and got some lotion on his hands before beginning to rub the substance on the princess' back, also giving her a massage in the process.
The princess moaned softly as she felt her hero's hands go up and down her back, getting the anti-sunburn lotion on her skin. "Oh my gosh, that feels so nice, Sonic!" Elise exclaimed. "Maybe you could rub my shoulders and my feet next, put some sunscreen on my ankles too!"
The hedgehog winked, "I'll be happy to oblige, princess. Even though I've never given foot rubs to anybody before, I would be honored to give that a shot."
"Thank you."
Sonic rubbed Elise's upper back near the shoulder blade area, eliciting a soft sigh from the red-haired princess as she closed her stormy-blue eyes just for a bit, loosening up and feeling the stress inside her going away. She'd been trying to bottle it up for ages and, thanks to Sonic, she was getting rid of it and relaxing again.
The hedgehog gently rubbed Elise's, before fixing the back of her bikini top and helping and the princess sit up before starting to massage her shoulders. Elise leaned back and stroked Sonic's chin.
"You are very handsome and useful," she said in a seductive tone. "This is why I fell for you in the first place not very long after we first met, you're doing a great service for your new princess."
Sweat beaded Sonic's forehead and his face turned red, but he did not stop doing what he was doing, the hedgehog didn't want to upset Elise even though this… seductress-like tone setting in was unexpected and out of the ordinary.
Regardless, he knew she was trying to mess with him, trying to get Sonic turned on. The hedgehog stopped massaging Elise's arms when he had done enough and let her turn around and lay back, lifting up her legs so Sonic could see her smooth, delicate feet.
The hedgehog moved forward and kissed Elise's toes before beginning to massage her left foot, making sure to include her leg but not going too far up it, Sonic did not want to any specific areas on Elise as he didn't want to go that route... yet.
Their relationship had just gotten started and it was a bit too soon to go very far into their relationship with anything… naughty. Either way, love was still in the air and they were perfect for each other, regardless if the two of them didn't have a... matching chemistry.
Then again, maybe their chemistry between Sonic and Elise did match, they loved freedom and adventure, the latter which Elise got to experience with Sonic not long before Mephiles unleashed Solaris upon the universe, nearly destroying everything, which led to the two fated lovers parting ways at least for a time.
The brave hero rubbed Elise's heel and her ankle, making her moan as he attacked and probed a bump in her leg, before continuing to massage her foot and started to rub her knee which surprised Elise as nobody had ever rubbed her knees before, except herself whenever she bumped her knee and it briefly hurt.
Moving on from the left leg, Sonic repeated the massage on the right leg, making Elise smile happily, knowing that this freedom-loving, talking humanoid hedgehog was showing how much he cared.
The blue hedgehog tickled the princess' foot and kissed her toes, making her giggle a little bit at the sensation. Sonic squeezed her heel and pinched her ankle, continuing his massage and making Elise happy which made Sonic and others happy as well.
The hedgehog completed his massage and Elise wrapped her arms around his neck, smiling sweetly. "Thank you for your service, handsome." She said, "I loved it."
"Well, I do aim to please." The hedgehog grinned, holding Elise closer to him.
"Yes, you do."
Elise leaned in and pressed her lips against Sonic's the two of them kissing again, for the... third time?
Technically, thanks to the snuffing out of Solaris' flame and the changes to the space-time continuum, erasing the events leading up to Sonic's demise and the revival kiss, this was the second time Sonic and Elise were kissing.
Given that Sonic was not alive when the kiss had happened, that meant it didn't fully count so the kiss Elise gave Sonic earlier was their REAL first kiss.
The kiss broke and Elise stood up. "Well, how about we go take a swim in the ocean?" The princess asked. Sonic, who'd learned how to swim recently, nodded and replied, "Sure. I'd love to go for a swim, that would be cool."
"You can swim, right?"
Not wanting to give away that he previously had aquaphobia and had been unable to swim for a while, Sonic nodded, "You bet. I'm great at swimming, how about you?"
"My parents gave me swimming lessons in the countryside, you?"
"I had trouble swimming when I was younger, got better when I was older."
"That's great, I'm glad you're a pro at swimming, Sonic."
"Heh-heh, we haven't gotten in the water yet, Elise."
"Then let's get in the water already, I wanna see how great of a swimmer you are!" The princess exclaimed, grabbing Sonic by the hand. Giggling with excitement, Elise ran across the beach towards the ocean, the hedgehog alongside her.
They reached the water and stopped running, Elise going first ahead of Sonic as he watched, setting foot into the salty yet crystal clear water. Going feet deep, then knee deep and then waist deep until the princess turned and called for Sonic to join her, saying, "THE WATER'S GREAT!"
Sonic, who'd been daydreaming about the two of them taking a walk on the beach and distracted by how Elise looked good in a bikini, nodded and walked into the water. It felt cold at first, but then it got warmer and the hedgehog could feel the mushy, wetness of the sand beneath his feet.
By the time he got to where Elise was standing, she kicked off the ground and had started swimming. Sonic, waist deep in the water, followed until he was torso deep and started swimming after Elise, trying to keep up with her as best he could so he wouldn't be left in the water by his newfound love.
Having been well trained since she was five, Elise felt relaxed as she rotated her arms and kicked her legs up and down before relaxing her arms at her sides as she turned over on her back and did the backstroke.
Knowing that swimming in open water further out to sea far away from the shore was dangerous, the princess stopped let herself float on the water almost motionlessly, her legs still moving up and down.
She turned to watch Sonic swimming towards her, moving his arms and kicking his legs, Elise was amazed this hedgehog really could swim.
She'd once heard a rumor when she was 15 that lots of hedgehogs couldn't swim, now seeing a hedgehog in the water was enough to joss that theory and toss it out like trash, figuratively. The princess saw a smirk on the hedgehog's face as he swam closer to her, knowing what he planning to do.
Before Elise could act, Sonic thrust out his arms and a spray of water hit her square in the face, causing the princess' hair to get wet, even wettening the feather she still wore on the side of her head.
"Gotcha!" Sonic shouted, "Bet you didn't expect to get splashed, didn't you, princess?" Elise started to giggle before she had an idea, it was an idea that had started to form in her head just seconds before Sonic had splashed her.
"SONIC, LOOK BEHIND YOU, ITS EGGMAN!" Elise yelled, pointing in the direction of the beach. Sonic turned, not noticing the trick until it was too late as he ended up getting splashed by Elise too. Sonic looked at his girlfriend, rolling his eyes and saying sarcastically, "I did not see that one coming, he old 'look over there' trick."
Elise winked, "Well, you splashed me, so I splashed you back. Now we're even."
"This means war now, you gorgeous girl."
"Bring it on, you handsome hedgehog."
"LET'S DO IT TO IT!"
"FOR MY KINGDOM OF SOLEANNA!"
"SPLASH FIGHT!"
So it began, Sonic and Elise splashing each other up a storm, water flew everywhere as the hero and the princess smacked the ocean with their hands (fists in Sonic's case). At one point, Elise dove underwater and snuck up on Sonic as he looked for her, not knowing what was coming until she surfaced right behind him, actually nailing him.
Seeking a bit of friendly revenge, Sonic dove under water and went for Elise's feet, intent on what he was about to do. As the princess looked around for her hero, she felt something touch her toes and thought a fish had come to visit her.
Elise was so distracted, she didn't notice a blue head surface and the owner of it approaching behind her and then… "GOTCHA ELISE!" The redhead shrieked as Sonic wrapped his arms around her torso and started tickling her shoulder and then tickled her belly.
SPLASH! Sonic's tickling was enough for the princess to be taken by surprise long enough for him to start splashing her like nuts, going all out until he ceased his attack and the princess squealed for Sonic to stop, declaring her surrender to him.
Sonic and Elise, both soaking wet, shared a kiss and hugged each other. "That… was just incredible." Elise breathed, getting some wet hair out of her face that had covered her eyes. Sonic grinned, "We should do that again sometime."
"I would love to have another splash war later, Sonic."
"You really mean it?"
"Yes and I'd also love to also experience your adventures with you."
"Us, adventuring together, maybe forever?"
"Well, it was fun when you ran around carrying me in your arms, I got a taste of what your kind of fun and adventure was like."
For just a bit, Sonic could imagine himself running through Green Hill with Elise in his arms, the two of them hanging out at the beach near Station Square, napping beneath a tree in a countryside while around so many animal friends and then the two of them looking after Chao in a Chao Garden. How could Sonic turn this down?
He'd shared so many adventures with his friends, so why not share some adventures with the girl of his dreams? They could still date and eventually have kids, The blue hedgehog wouldn't have to worry about being tied down with Elise not holding him back.
"Sure, why not?" The hedgehog replied.
"Really?" Elise held Sonic's hands, "You'll let me go with you everywhere you go."
"As long as it doesn't take away from your duties as Princess of Soleanna."
"It could work... with you as my prince."
Sonic's face turned red. "A-A prince? Are people going to like it?"
"There's nothing to worry about, we're made for each other, I've yearned for excitement and adventure, you're an adventurous person and a hero, of course the people of Soleanna will like you. You did me a great service, you saved me from Doctor Eggman and from the malevolence of Solaris and Mephiles combined with Iblis. Sonic, I know that you would make a great ruler."
"I'll think about it, Elise. Besides, I wasn't born into royalty to a king and queen."
"Well, from here on out, you're my dashing blue prince."
"If you say so, either way, I love you Princess Elise the Third."
"And I love you too so much, Prince Sonic the Hedgehog."
Sonic placed his hands around Elise's hips and Elise wrapped her arms around Sonic's neck, they looked into each other's eyes with passion and leaned in for a deep, romantic kiss. The two of them were truly destined to be together forever, adventuring and spending every day of their lives as the happiest couple the world had ever seen.
Nobody had ever foreseen a human princess finding love with a blue hedgehog, but it was happening either way with nobody to try and stop it from happening, nobody like Doctor Eggman or a dark entity bent on destroying the known universe...
