It's an ordinary day at the library studying, until Scott's best friend pulls up a chair.
"Let's just keep this short Masie. Scott doesn't want you at any pack meetings. I know you love going to them but..."
"Yeah. I figured" Mason nods with a tainted sigh.
"Great, this saves me a whole bunch of made up excuses. Scott doesn't care about lunchtime though" He says getting up.
"Okay"
"And Mase?"
"Yep?" He asks quickly looking up from his book.
"Don't play the victim here. This...lost puppy look? You're the one that took Scott's trust and stomped all over it. He's pissed...we all are" Stiles said softly tucking his chair into the table. It was surreal from then on. In some ways it was more spooky than a supernatural enemy. People were polite enough. But things had changed.
There was no polite chit chat in the library. Corey wasn't calling him as much. Every time he wanted to hang out with Kira she was "busy" then partying all over social media. He was lucky he had Liam, otherwise he would have been a total loner. Later he's a few feet away from his own locker, when he sees Liam and Stiles talking.
"Woah, those Tattoos are awesome, scary, but awesome! I'll take that to Deaton"
"We could try Mason first" Liam offers.
"Noooooo!" Stiles whined.
"He'd wanna be a part of this! How long is Scott going to punish him for?"
"It doesn't matter"
"He's my best friend. Of course it fucking matters!" Liam barks, slamming the door. With everyone looking at Liam's outburst, Mason's disappears. He's sure he hears Lydia calling him, but he needs fresh air. Time to relax and get his thoughts together. Calm down and wait until the rage or rather [scott's rage] had boiled over. He heads out to the bleachers. Being at one with nature and making notes would take his mind off of everything.
He walks down the steps to make a move to sit with Danny and Jackson. Before he can swivel into a isle Jackson is shooing him away. He is kind of use to that, but he's sure that Danny will have his back.
"Scott's on his way and...we all know what went down" Jackson quickly reminds him. "So scram"
"It's just a couple of minutes until my next class, so"
"Yeah...but...we don't want to get caught in the drama" Danny said. Mason nods, trying not to show how hurt he is, he walks back up the to benches on the pavement opening up a book as he nudges away from the fence closing in on him...
"Mase"
Mason turns towards the whisper and nearly has a heart attack. "Brett!"
"Hey, after school, can I pick you up?" He asks hopefully.
"Sorry Brett, but Mason and I have plans after class. Plus I think you've got Geography next, right? Theo asks. Before he can answer he's motioning for him to get up. "Come on, you don't wanna be late"
