"You guys don't have to walk me home. Nobody's gonna hurt me." Mabel said, trying to get Harper, Leilani, and Lei off her ass.

"How'd you know?" Harper hissed.

Mabel didn't say anything afterwards, as she knew she wouldn't win an argument with Harper.

Mabel woke up the next day silently. The whole house was as quiet as a mouse. Mabel got out of her bed, and changed into her school uniform.

Mabel stepped out of her bedroom. "Christina?" She called.

No response.

Mabel shrugged. "Must be out doing Magical Girl stuff."

Mabel slung her backpack over her shoulder and walked out of the house, heading for school.

At lunchtime, Eugate sat next to Mabel. Eugate had brought someone Mabel didn't know: A boy.

The three stayed silent and ate their lunch, as usual. Then Mabel asked Eugate "Is that guy your boyfriend or something?"

Eugate laughed. "Of course he's not my boyfriend! He's Zane Grace, my best friend!"

Zane shyly waved. He seemed pretty nice.

Mabel took another bite of her lunch.

"Hey, hey, do you know what magical girls are?" Eugate whispered.

Mabel was confused, but nodded.

"Uhuhuhu! Guess what? I'm a Magical Girl!" Eugate exclaimed.

"Dumbass. Does she not know that her best friend is right beside her?" Mabel thought to herself.

Eugate cleared her voice. "And I know you may be thinking, 'She's a dumbass for saying that right in front of her best friend that doesn't know about magical girls.' And I would be too, but Zane knows about Magical Girls, and he knows I'm a magical girl." Eugate looked at Zane, expecting some sort of form of agreement. Zane quickly nodded and went back to eating his food.

Mabel's body shook when she noticed that Laurel was staring at her malevolently. What dark plans did she have for Mabel? That was truly a mystery.

Eugate looked at Laurel. "Her." Eugate hissed. "She's annoying. She's not really on the good side, not really on the bad side. And I hate it. She works for The Hayward Kingdom."

Mabel thought this was useful information. But what was The Hayward Kingdom? What were Laurel's plans for Mabel? Mabel had a bunch of questions without any answers.

But she didn't have to worry, as they all would be answered soon.
