A/N; Very short scene that is missing from S1E10 I really wish we had gotten a scene of Lorelai and Rory shopping for Luke's iconic blue hat, it always striked me as odd Lorelai choose blue almost as if she thought it would bring out his eyes. Here we go, enjoy!
Pretty Blue Eyes
"Wow, I thought we would have one option, I never expected there to be walls of hats," Lorelai said staring at the walls of baseball caps of the shop she was standing in with Rory.
"You didn´t expect them to have many in crazy hat world? Rory asked even if she was amazed at the amount of hats and wondered if Luke had ever been here, even if the shop was in Hartford.
"You think he will like a new hat? I mean I know his one is old now but..." Lorelai started, worries setting in.
"He will love it, it is time for a new one, so what colour were you thinking?" Rory asked her. Lorelai shrugged at a lost.
"Red?" Rory offered holding one up, Lorelai shook her head. "Orange?" Rory questioned holding up a bright orange one.
"We don't want his hat to blind everyone in the diner" Lorelai went on "No it needs to be a colour that suits him that goes with any of his plaid" Lorelai replied.
"Black?" Rory suggested knowing that colour goes with everything
"I said goes with everything not makes it look like he is attending a funeral every day, anything but black that's so depressing" Lorelai went on.
"True, not brown either" Rory finished
"How about white?" Lorelai went on
"He works in a diner, it will be white for about a day" Rory replied logically knowing with the amount of spills and grease and mess his hat would get dirty quickly if it was white.
Lorelai looked around trying to decide then smiled as she noticed one and picked up a blue one.
"Blue...Luke has pretty blue eyes, it will enhance them" Lorelai told Rory knowing it will make his eyes pop. Rory smirked.
"How do you know have you been gazing into them?" she asked loving to tease her about her obvious crush on Luke everyone saw except Lorelai.
"No, I just notice when he wears that blue plaid shirt that is all...so what do you think...blue?" she blushed slightly changing the subject.
"I think blue is perfect" Rory replied still smirking
"Aww, this one has that cheap plastic closing though" Lorelai replied noticing it.
"Well the rest of the blues say Hartford or have love hearts on for some reason, so that is your best bet, he won't care about that" Rory replied knowing Luke will love the hat.
"Do you think he will wear it?" Lorelai asked knowing how attached he was to his current hat.
"I bet he never takes it off, it's from his favourite person" Rory replied smiling
"Stop, why do you think Luke has a crush on me?" Lorelai replied not seeing what Rory saw.
"Because you two flirt constantly" Rory replied smirking again.
"We do not, we are just been nice to each other because friends are nice to each other" Lorelai replied as she started making her way to the till.
"If you say so mum" Rory replied knowing, like the whole town they liked each other.
"When he dropped me off at home he spoke about you for the whole forty minutes" Rory replied "Well we spoke about me too, he is interested in my life but you were the main topic on his mind" Rory went on as Lorelai paid and picked up the bag.
"We had just been together" Lorelai replied
"You talk about Luke most of the day" Rory went on
"He is my friend, you are seeing things" Lorelai went on
"The whole town can't be wrong mum" Rory replied as she hopped in the jeep "Come on let's go home, you need to stop in the diner to see Mr pretty blue eyes" Rory mocked. Lorelai half screamed as she was teased.
