All Nightmare Long
Chapter 388
Author's Note: Let's go check on Daryl and Jes, shall we? And hopefully a few others, but if not, oh well. Don't worry, I will never give up on this story, they are part of me. I literally watch the show and go 'where's Jewel?' or 'what would Jewel do in this situation?' Or my favorite, 'are you out of your mind Rick?' Yeah, I'm a bit obsessed about my babies. Please review.
Daryl and Jes POV:
Jes picked up a shovel as she glanced over to Tina and Sylvie. She went over to where Daryl and Dwight were digging graves. She glanced at Daryl, knowing that he wanted to bring up Alexandria. She also knew that he wouldn't do it without her agreeing to it. She didn't know why her opinion mattered to him, he was the recruiter, but he wanted her opinion. She gave a slight nod to him, giving her ok for it.
Daryl responded to the nod and looked at Dwight. "Hey how many walkers' have you killed?" he asked Dwight.
Jes saw Dwight give Daryl a weird look. "Walkers', skin eaters, the dead ones, anything that you call them. How many have you killed?"
"Just answer the question," Daryl told him.
"A lot, a couple dozen at least," Dwight answered.
Sylvie put her hand on Sherry's shoulder as she got up. "Why are you asking that? Why does it matter? We're still here, and they aren't," she simply answered.
Jes sighed. "Don't worry about it. How about you? How many have you killed?"
Sylvie looked at her. "Not many, a few, but my brother in law made sure I haven't had to kill many,"
"How many people have you killed?" Daryl asked.
Jes looked at Sylvie. "The way your hand was shaking when you held that gun, you haven't shot at one person, let alone kill a person."
"You're right," Sylvie answered.
"Neither have I," Dwight answered.
"Why?" Daryl answered.
"Why haven't I killed anyone? Because if I did, there'd be no going back to how things were," Dwight answered. "Before you ask her, she hasn't had to because her brother in law protects her."
"Must not be doing a good job if you feel like you had to run away from him," Jes pointed out, looking at Sylvie. "He make you kneel?"
Sylvie looked at her. "There's worse things than kneeling," she told her. "And, that's all I'm going to say about it," she told her.
"We're from a place where people are still like they were, more or less, better or worse," Daryl told them.
Sylvie looked at Dwight then back at Sherry. "What else do we have to lose?" she asked.
Glenn, Enid, and Lexi's POV:
Lexi climbed up on the wall and looked down. "They are clearing out. We can head back to Alexandria," she stated.
"I'm not going back to Alexandria," Enid informed her. "I don't know how many times I have to tell you that."
"Then neither am I," Lexi stated. "We don't do things alone."
"I'm not part of the we. I have no one at Alexandria waiting for me, no one worrying about me, you do. I'm telling you to go back, I don't need you or do I want you with me," Enid told her.
"To bad," Lexi told her. "There's movement down there," Lexi pointed out.
"It's not a dead one," Enid said.
"Glenn, it's Glenn," Lexi said as she went closer to the end of the wall. "Glenn!" she yelled down as Glenn took a swig of water from a bottle.
"Heads up!" Enid yelled as she threw down a water bottle. It landed in the mud and she sighed. "Shit! I said heads up," she said as she walked way.
"Enid!" both Glenn and lexi yelled.
Lexi sighed as she glanced to a group of discarded wood. "You can use that to climb up. I know where she went, and we have more water there," she told her.
"What are the two of you doing out here?" Glenn questioned.
"Climb up, then we'll talk," Lexi said. "Have you been under the dumpster all night? Hiding from the walkers?"
Glenn climbed up on the wall. "Nicholas killed himself, fell on me, I was able to climb under the dumpster," he told her.
Lexi hugged him. "I'm glad you're alright," she told him. "Come on, you need more water," she said, leading him to the building where the two teenagers spent the night and climbed through the window.
"Enid? Enid? What were the two of you doing out of here?" Glenn questioned as he climbed up the window.
"There's another water bottle in the corner. Take it and go," Enid told her. "Take her with you," she told him.
Lexi walked over to the corner and got the water bottle giving it to him.
"You're not gonna answer me?" Glenn questioned.
"No," Enid answered.
Glenn looked at Lexi , then spoke to both of them. "What happened in Alexandria? We heard the sound, the gun ! Lexi, one of you answer me," he pleaded.
"What happened is what always happens, people die," Enid responded.
"The herd broke through the walls?" Glenn questioned.
"What herd?" Enid questioned.
"The walkers' got away?" Lexi questioned.
"Yes," Glenn responded. "The walkers'. They broke out of the quarry early. We got on them but the sound, the air horn. What was that?" he questioned.
"It was people. You should go," Enid told them.
"The wolves, they broke into Alexandria. They killed people, they didn't have guns, they were stabbing people," Lexi explained.
"My wife? Maggie. She ok?" Glenn questioned.
"I don't know," Lexi answered honestly.
"Enid? Is Maggie OK?" Glenn asked. "Enid, hey Enid!" he called out. He looked at Lexi and started walking through the building. He saw her going out the window. "Enid!"
Lexi sighed. "Come on," she said as she led him to another area and led him out the window as they chased Enid.
"Enid!" Glenn yelled.
"She doesn't like to count on other people," Lexi told him. "Do you know what happened to Sasha?"
"Her and Abraham were still following Daryl. Half of the herd didn't break off," Glenn answered. "Why are you out here?"
"I saw her going over the gate," Lexi answered. "I couldn't let her go alone. She's like us, she's been out there like we were. She shouldn't be out here alone," she said.
Glenn hugged her. "You're a good person, Lexi," she answered.
Daryl and Jes POV:
Daryl and Jes walked in front of Dwight, Sherry and Sylvie. "We can walk it from here, til we meet up with our friends."
"How many friends you say there were?" Dwight asked.
""I didn't," Daryl responded. "There's two of them," Daryl explained as he dug out his motorcycle from under the tree branches.
"Where are they?" Dwight asked.
"We've been with you, so obviously we don't know," Jes informed them.
"We're gonna find out," Daryl told them.
"how do you even know they got away? That they didn't get taken?" Dwight demanded.
"Taken by the men who we saved your from?" Jes asked.
"There's more then just those men, they're everywhere," Sylvie answered.
"We don't know if they got away," Daryl told them as he pushed the motorcycle. Daryl and Jes both looked at each other when they heard the gun cock. "Oh damn it," he said as they both turned around. Daryl pointed his cross bow at them as Jes pulled her gun.
"Dwight, what are you doing?" Sylvie questioned.
"We can't trust them, they'll find us, no matter what," Dwight told her. "I'm sorry. Give her the cross bow," Dwight told Daryl.
"You gonna go back? You gonna be safe?" Daryl questioned.
"You gonna kneel?" Jess added.
"Shut up," Dwight told them.
"Dwight, let them go," Sylvie begged.
"Sylvie," Dwight warned.
"Aint no where safe no more," Daryl told them.
"Give her the crossbow," Dwight demanded.
"So, is Jes right? You gonna kneel?" Daryl asked.
Dwight fired the gun. as he took the motorcycle.
"So, what's your plan Dwight? Only two people can fit on the motorcycle, so one of them is going to be left behind. Well, I guess I know which one it's going to be," Jes said as she looked at Sylvie.
"Sylv...three of us can fit on the motorcycle. We wouldn't leave you behind," Sherry assured her.
"No, it's alright, the two of you can get away faster without me," Sylvie said.
"We can't let you go alone," Sherry insisted.
"She's still welcome to come with us," Jes told them.
"At least she has some brains," Daryl said.
"I'm not going back with them," Sylvie told them. "I'm going to go back, I'm going to tell him that it was me. It'll give you time to get away," she said.
"Sylvie..." Dwight said.
"No, you know it's the right thing to do, it's the only thing to do," Sylvie said.
"Give her the gun," Dwight told Jes.
"You going back to a place that you ran away from, that isn't real smart. Things like that never work out," Jes told her as she handed her the gun.
"He won't hurt me," Sylvie answered. "I'll go the opposite way, maybe I can meet up with Wade. let them take me in. Just get away," she said as took off.
"You're signing her death warrant," Daryl told them.
Sherry got on the back of the bag and threw down bandages. "Patch yourself up, I'm sorry," she told Daryl.
"You will be," Daryl told them as they drove off.
"Guess you need to work on your recruiting skills," Jes said as she walked with him.
"This isn't the time, Jes," Daryl told her as they walked. Daryl bent down on the ground and uncovered a sign for a fuel truck company. "We might have gotten lucky."
"First time that's happened in a while," Jes said as they walked up to a area with wooded coverage. She started moving tree branches with Daryl's help. "Found it."
"Let's go get Abraham and Sasha," Daryl said.
"Do you even know where to begin?" Jes asked.
"Probably at the place where I last saw them," Daryl told her as they started to walk.
