For the residents of Hell there was one day a year that made them all terrified. One day that everyone, both overlord and small-time sinners alike feared. Extermination day, the one horrific day where angels descended and put everyone they saw to the spear. For twenty four hours the entirety of hell was filled with screams of terror and pain as the streets quite literally ran red with blood.

Even being inside a building wasn't a guaranteed safe option. There were a few underground shelters but those were pricey and most sinners had to sell there soul just to get in. And even then you ran the chance of being kicked out if someone offered more. It was a known fact that on this day the population of hell drops by at least forty percent.

The only two guaranteed safe places were the northern section were the royals and highest overlords lived and the Happy hotel. Those were the only places protected by Lucifer's magic.

Inside the hotel the demon bartender Husker wiped down the counter while eyeing the incredibly rare and expensive alcohol that Charlie had given him the night before. They'd all received some kind of gift. Her way of telling them that for this day they could indulge in whatever vices they wanted. But he hadn't touched it, sure the drinker in him was demanding he pop the top and drown his sorrows till it was empty. But not now, today was not the day to get drunk.

Moments later he was reminded why as outside the main window a demon ran by trying to get to the door. He'd just reached it when a shadow passed over and seconds later a scream was heard followed by it slowly and maliciously dragging it's victim by the window stopping to stare and raise its spear at Husk. It's eyes locked on his and he could swear he felt his soul freeze as he stared into that smiling void of death. As it was about to reach the window Lucifer's barrier activated and it cocked its head before flying off victim in tow.

Lucifer had come by yesterday and put it up. This made sure nobody could get in or out until the extermination was over. Turning his gaze away from the window he saw he'd unconsciously pulled out his shotgun.

"Easy there Husk. You're safe inside." As he lowered the gun a small squeal and blur of pink rushed into the lobby followed by Nifty her eye focused.

"Come back here you! You're still dirty and getting mud everywhere." Each time she tried to grab him he wriggled free and created a new mess.

He half smiled as he watched the hyper demon chase Angel's pet pig around. Much like him Nifty couldn't simply ignore the chaos outside so Husk had just before the sirens sounded let Nuggets to play in the mud before loosing him in the hotel. Chasing and bathing him would keep her focused for hours. And watching her would at least be amusing. His focus away from the window he grabbed the booze and took a swig feeling it calm him down. He'd have a taste now and finish it off later.

"Damn that's good."

As he drank upstairs the pair of Angel and Cherri were already midway through with their own extermination ignorance plan. Both were completely naked with Cherri coming down from her latest orgasm and sliding off Angel undoing the restraints on one of his sets of hands before cuddling him. Sex wasn't uncommon for them, as in the past when Angel was going through withdraw or Cherri wanted harmless sex they'd often fuck just for an hour or two of distracting fun.

"Not bad for our sixth round."

"Not bad? I must be having a off day if someone's saying not bad after fucking me for seven hours straight." He said flicking her nose before laughing.

This was something the two of them had done since first becoming friends all those years ago. Every year they'd hole up someplace safe and spend half the day fucking and the other binging on smuggled human flicks and junk food. It was their way of tuning out the chaos and simply being there for the other.

"Fuck off you big asshole. Now shut up and start the movie before I shove a cherry bomb up that ass of yours." They both laughed knowing full well they were to tired to move.

"Yeah alright." He'd just pressed play when she snuggled into his massive fluffy chest as his arms went around her. He'd only said it once, but she was the only women he'd every willingly have sex with. Less then a week ago he'd all but begged her to stay here where it was safe instead of staying with a group of anarchists. And she'd never admit it, but she was incredibly happy to be here with him right now. Angel was her best friend and partner in crime. They'd been there for each other for the good and bad and neither would have it any other way. As they enjoyed their movies and junk food down the hall in his private room Alastor sat in his chair staring out the window his face in his demonic radio form.

On this day he and the tv demon Vox each had a similar job. A small but intense price to pay for their powers. For Alastor he broadcasted the screams to all listening devices in Hell. Radios, stereos, if it transmuted sound it was all screams. While Vox turned every screen into a window of carnage and death. Only the hotel and the Royal section were immune to their influence.

Down the hall and just outside the master bedroom the one eyed demon Vaggie did her best to try and coax her girlfriend out of their room. She'd been locked out since this morning and she been worried sick ever since.

"Charlie… babe please open the door."

But there was no response. This happened every year on extermination day. Even after four years Vaggie couldn't get Charlie to come out. Even when she'd stayed with Charlie at her parent's home Charlie still locked herself away. Her father had said that Charlie was to kindhearted for the truth of Hell while her mother had said that at least she had someone like Vaggie for her.

When the phone inside their shared room started ringing Vaggie hoped that this could at least allow her to her Charlie's voice but after it was picked up she heard Lucifer's voice say her name before the phone was clicked off.

Less then ten seconds later her pocket started vibrating and Vaggie pulled out the silver compact mirror Lilith had given her. Once opened a magical image of Lilith appeared.

"I take it our lovable girl is still locking herself away?"

"Yeah and in five seconds I'm breaking down the door to see her."

Lilith smiled seeing the look of worry and love in Vaggie's eye.

"While I love the enthusiasm Vaggie my dear, that won't be necessary." Lilith snapped her finger and the door swung open. Vaggie immediately rushed in finding Charlie under a blanket. The room was dark and nearly everything was piled up to block out the window.

"Charlie!"

Hearing her name she looked up seeing her girlfriend eye wide with panic. "Hey Vaggie."

She rushed over gently moving the blanket down and kissing her as hard as she could.

"Don't you hey Vaggie me. Do you have any idea how worried I've been?!"

Charlie opened her mouth to speak only for Vaggie to continue. "Beyond worried! Damn it Charlie I love you and I know this day is the worst for you but as your girlfriend it's my job to be there for you. If you lock yourself away then I'm going to be there with you. If you want to cry or scream I'll hold you as you do. But please…" her hands started to shake and her voice grew unsteady with emotion. "Please don't lock me out."

One look was all it took for Charlie to latch on to her and cry. Ever since that first time her parents had showed her this day she'd been unable to handle it. The screams, the death, the horrific of pleasure she did her best to push down. Vaggie's dam broke a few moments later and for a few short minutes the pair laid side by side on the bed and cried.

It was only the faint cough that stopped them. Looking down they saw Lilith's smiling face staring back at them.

"It's truly wonderful that you had this little moment girls. But Vaggie dear I do believe there's something more you can say to her. Something far more important and intimate."

Vaggie looked away blushing. When she spoke her words were rapid and nervous.

"But Lilith right now? I mean today's not good for obvious reasons. I mean I had a whole day planned besides I…"

Charlie now curious looked from her mother to her girlfriend. "Mom don't tease Vaggie. And Vaggie you know you can tell me anything."

Not seeing a way out Vaggie sighed and walked over to their dresser and pulled out the final drawer reaching into the way back and pulling out a small black case.

Charlie's breath stopped as she knew exactly what was about to happen.

Nervously Vaggie stood before Charlie about to say the most embarrassing and nerve wracking thing of her afterlife.

"Charlie I was going to wait for a better time but…."

She'd barely started and Charlie was already beaming and quite literally at the edge of her seat.

"I love you and I can't imagine being in Hell without you so would you do me the honor of marrying me?"

Charlie cried as she nodded and extended her hand. The moment the ring slid onto her finger she reached up pulling Vaggie down and onto the bed kissing her.

"I love you so much Vaggie. And for the rest of the night I'm going to show you how much."

From the other side of Hell Lilith now joined by her husband Lucifer smiled. They watched just long enough to confirm that their daughter was indeed the top before killing the feed.

"Our little girl is lucky to have someone like Vaggie." Lilith said remembering just how nervous and hopeful Vaggie had been when she'd sat them down and told them she wanted to marry Charlie. Of course they'd been expecting this and had already got a ring for her. Of course she was made to fully understand that if she did this she'd be tying her fate to Charlie's for eternity. No redemption, no heaven, just her and Charlie in hell forever. Lucifer still remembered how she'd said. "Heaven is nothing if I'm not with Charlie." it reminded him of when he made a similar speech before being cast out of heaven.

"Yes, just as I am lucky to have you my dear." With their daughter now safe and happy the pair rejoined the overlords for their yearly extermination party enjoying food and drinks while watching the carnage play out from their massive window. Tonight they'd celebrate death while tomorrow they'd have the girls over to celebrate their engagement.
