All Nightmare Long

Chapter 393

Author's Note: Negan keeps bugging me, but he is going to have to hold on because I need to check on Summer and the other people who are still outside and some of the people inside. Getting close to the walkers' getting in Alexandria. I'm going to show the whole two months that they skipped in the show, poor Jewel is going to think Summer is dead. But that's for later of course. So may show Negan before the walkers' invade Alexandria.

Jewel and Ronnie's POV:

Jewel sat on stool of the kitchen island and wrote down names on a piece of paper and pushed it over to Ronnie. "These are the people who were injured during the wolves' attacks."

"Why doesn't it surprise me that these names are Alexandrian's," Ronnie stated.

"Most don't know how to protect themselves," Jewel responded. "You want to check them or send Denise?"

"Denise needs more practice in the infirmary," Ronnie said. "Pete didn't let her do anything and she needs confidence in her ability. I'm trying to prepare her the best I can if something happens to me.'

Jewel looked at her. "You planning on checking out anytime soon?"

"If you are asking if I'm still contemplating suicide, the answer is no. But we both know that life can end in a blink of an eye. Nothing is guaranteed, not anymore," Ronnie told her.

"I let myself believe that we didn't have to worry about in here, I let my guard down," Jewel answered.

Ronnie looked at her. "This isn't your fault, Jewel. Boy you and Rick make a perfect couple, taking complete blame for everything. We all wanted to be safe, needed to feel safe, we deserved it. How have you been sleeping," Ronnie questioned.

Jewel looked at her. "Smooth, Ronnie, real smooth. I take it you and Rick talked?"

"I am your primary care doctor and he is your husband, and we both care about you, so yes, Rick came to me with some concerns," Ronnie told her. "But he only did it because the he is crazy in love with you and he is going to be anxious about your health. So, enjoy it, it just means you are loved."

"It's annoying," Jewel said. "Lovable but annoying," she grumbled. "I don't think any of us have slept in two years, not really. Throw in a baby and a shit ton of walkers' right outside the gate, tends to make a restful night of sleep. As soon as all this is over and we dispose of those walkers' and the bodies of the wolves', I will bring Hope and Judith over and let you babysit while I get some well deserved rest."

"I think maybe I should baby sit Rick too, because if you and him are together, you won't be getting any rest," Ronnie teased.

Jewel looked at her. "You say that like it's a bad thing," she said with a grin. "Anyway, take Beth with you to help. Rosita is at the infirmary with Denise?"

Ronnie nodded. "Yes, this shouldn't take to long."

"It'll take how long it takes," Jewel said.

Ronnie nodded. "I'll keep you posted," she told her.

Summer's POV:

Summer stood using the wall to support herself while she changed into clothes that Rayna had loaned her. She was slipping the tank top on when she heard the door open. Out of reflex she reached for her how and arrow and quickly turned before the door even opened and fired the arrow letting it land in the the center of the door. "Identify yourself," she said as she leaned against the wall arming her how again.

"What the hell?" Gregory asked as he came in. "I brought you food, I'm letting you stay in my house, my niece is letting you wear her clothes, and you repay our kindness by trying to assault me."

"No, I was trying to scare you, if I was trying to assault you or kill you, you would have been dead. You delivered the food, you can leave now," Summer told him.

Gregory stepped into the room and closed the door. "I don't know where you are from Autumn, but when a person is showing you hospitility, you don't dictate when someone leaves the room of the house you are being allowed to stay."

Summer arched the bow again and let the arrow go, it landing right above his head. "First of all, it's Summer, Greg, Autumn is the wrong season. Second of all, where I come from, if you came into a room where a female was and didn't knock, you'd be shot first and your body would be burnt. So, you're lucky that you're still standing. But, next one is going to be in your head. Leave," she ordered calmly in a no nonsense Dixon voice.

"You have no say in what I do in my house," Gregory said as a knock came at the door.

"Come in," Summer yelled as she kept her bow and arrow aimed at Gregory.

Jesus came in. "I thought I heard a commotion, I see that I'm right. Summer what's going on?"

"Why are you asking her Jesus? I am the one that has had two arrows shot at him," Gregory said. "I want her out of my house."

"Gregory, I asked Summer a question and I am sure there is a reason that she is holding a weapon on you. Let her answer the question, please," Jesus instructed him.

"He came into the room without knocking, while I was changing, and I reacted. When I asked him to leave, he stepped inside the room and I felt in danger of my safety, so I sent another warning shot. I warned him the next time I wouldn't miss. He kept insisting that since it was his house, he didn't have to knock or respect my privacy and that I owe him some kind of gratitude for being allowed to stay. If that is what I have to do to repay him, then I will be on my way, inured or not," Summer said.

Jesus looked at him then at Summer. "I believe you. You have my word that it won't happen again and that you do not have to worry about your safety while you are at the Hilltop, I guarantee it."

"You believe her?" Gregory questioned.

"I don't think that she would be holding a weapon at you if she didn't feel threatened. And you were in her room with the door closed, and I don't think she would have invited you in her room, at all. I don't have to tell Archie do I? I think I should, I mean do we have to put a guard on her door? She is the guest of the Hilltop, Gregory. And, I won't let her feel unsafe, understood?" Jesus questioned.

"It was never my intention to make her uncomfortable," Gregory said.

"I don't believe you," Summer said.

"Neither do I really," Jesus said as he opened the door. "I'll see you downstairs Gregory," he said as he let the other man walk out. He looked at Summer. "I should have realized that he wasn't going to let the fact that he didn't agree with you being here alone. I just didn't think that he would barge into your room."

"You aren't his keeper, Paul," Summer told her.

"Sometimes I feel like I am. I'll be extra vigilant about keeping an eye out on your door so this doesn't happen again," Jesus answered.

"Thank you," Summer said as he left.

Daryl, Jes, Sasha and Abraham's POV:

Daryl pulled up the truck near the spot where he last saw Sasha and Abraham at. "We got separated here, there's the car they were using," he told Jes.

Jes got out of the truck with her gun. "They probably holed up in one of the buildings for the night," she said. She quickly turned when she heard the door of a building open. "Well that was easy," she said as Abraham and Sasha came. out of the building. "Glad to see that you two are in one piece," she said.

Abraham nodded. "We could say the same about the two of you, though when we got separated you weren't with us," he said as he shook her hand then Daryl's.

"I heard gun fire, followed Daryl. Good thing I did, he got himself into a bit of trouble," Jes said.

"You seem to have a habit out of helping people named Dixon out of trouble," Sasha teased.

"They need a lot of rescuing," Jes retorted.

Daryl looked at her. "I could make you walk back to Alexandria."

"But you won't," Jes responded.

"So where is your motorcycle?" Abraham asked.

"It was taken," Daryl responded. "Now have we talked enough so we can get back to Alexandria and help out?"

"Not all four of us are going to fit in the cab of the truck," Abraham said.

"I'll sit in the back. Nice jacket, Abraham," Jes told her. "Anything to load up?"

"We found some things," Sasha said.

"Then let's do it," Daryl told them as he raised the tailgate of the truck.
