Welcome fellow Pokemon fans to Chapter 5 of A Master's Rise. I'm so glad that many of you are taking time to give my story a read and I am touched that many of you are following it though the feeling's also a bit bittersweet since because I get notifications via email and due to time zones, I am unfortunately woken up in the middle of the night. But enough rambling from me, here are some things I should talk about why I made certain things the way they are. First off the traitors, I chose those people specifically because well I had a problem with each and one of them. If you want to know, just send me a review or PM me. As for Fearow, I thought it would be a interesting idea since most times when Ash catches it, it doesn't obey him off the bat. So for my take, I had Ash instead save its life first so it would have a reason to obey Ash instead of having a whole chapter or two dedicated to Ash and Fearow bonding time because that woud be a hassle. Anyways, that's all from me folks and enjoy Chapter 5.
After catching an old companion as well as a new one, Ash and Serena headed towards Viridian Forest as Ash was planning to take his time to reunite with his old Pokemon, something Serena had no problem with as it also gave her lots of time to be close to Ash. As the two arrived at Viridian Forest, Ash soon heard the noises of rapid flapping and turned to Serena.
"I fear something's not right. We have to go to the source of that frantic flapping." Ash said.
Serena nodded and the couple soon saw a sight that made them boil. There was a brute of a man in hunters' clothes ganging up on two Butterfree. But soon Ash realized that he recognized one of them. It was none other than his very own, the same one he released years back so that he could be with his mate. He even still had his yellow scarf wrapped around his neck and standing right next to him was the same Pink Butterfree that he left with. Ash was now seeing even more red as he realized the brute was most likely a poacher and was going to take them by force. He pulled out a Pokeball and decided this would be a great debut for his newest Pokemon.
"Fearow, it's time to shine my friend." Ash called out quietly as Fearow came out with a quiet squawk able to sense that he was being called for a quiet mission. He turned towards Ash awaiting commands like a soldier.
"Fearow, before the poacher has a time to react, send him flying with an Aerial Ace." whispered Ash. Fearow nodded and charged towards the Poacher.
"What the-?" were the Poachers words as Fearow smashed into him full force sending him into several trees knocking him out temporarily. Ash then quickly ran up to his former Pokemon and his mate. Upon seeing his former trainer, tears came up to his eyes and tackled into him with a hug. Ash also couldn't help but cry as well and as for Butterfree's mate, she recognized the former trainer of her mate as well and greeted him with a "Free!"
"It's great to see you both again. But what brings you both back all the way to Viridian Forest?" Ash asked.
Butterfree and his mate responded with a few cries and Ash was able to get the meaning which made more tears come out.
"You were waiting for me to one day return. And your mate was more than willing to tag along? I'm touched to hear that, Butterfree. But it looks like we have to deal with company." Ash said as he saw the poacher getting up.
"You little brat! You're gonna pay for that! Durant break their bones!" the poacher yelled as he sent out the Steel/Bug type with its pincers clinking menacingly.
Ash then called out to Serena, "Serena, bring out Pancham. I got a plan!"
Serena nodded and brought out the Panda Pokemon who stood ready for a fight.
Ash then called out to Pancham, "Pancham I'm going to need you to jump on Fearow. It's time for a combination attack." Pancham nodded trusting his trainer's boyfriend's judgement and jumped on the Beak Pokemon.
"That ain't goin to save ya! Durant charge in with a Iron Head!" Durant charged its head glowing but Ash was prepared.
"Fearow, fly high into a 360 and dive down with Drill Peck. Pancham once Fearow starts spinning for Drill Peck, jump off and fire off a Stone Edge!" Ash ordered.
Both Pokemon nodded and once Durant got in close, Fearow easily avoided the Steel-Type move and flew into the air. Then like Ash said, he did a 360 to confuse Durant in where he would be getting attacked from. As the Beak Pokemon then flew down, it started to spin. And just like planned, Pancham leapt off and landed right behind Durant. Before the Iron Ant Pokemon could react, Pancham slammed his hand to the ground and a pillar of stone coated in blue energy erupted launching the Steel/Bug type into the air. Fearow then struck it with Drill Peck. The two attacks were too much and once it hit the ground, it was completely knocked out.
"GRRR! You worthless bug!" the poacher growled as he smashed the Pokeball, releasing it. He then was ready to fire some weapons only to wrapped up tightly by multiple webbing courtesy of the two Butterfree. "What the-?! Get me outta here!" he screamed as he tried to escape to no avail. Pancham then ran up and having enough of the human's rants knocked him out with several well-placed Arm Thrusts. Ash then called Officer Jenny who arrived promptly to arrest the poacher.
"Thanks you too. This poacher's been wanted around many forests. Been hunting Bug types for months but now all he's going to be hunting for is a jail cell." Officer Jenny said as he placed the wrapped up unconscious poacher in her backseat and drove off. Soon Ash and Serena were comforting the poor Ant Pokemon who was heartbroken at being released until Ash thought of a solution.
"Say Durant, why don't you join me. I'm on a journey to become the world's greatest Pokemon Master and I would love to have you on the team."
Durant soon cheerfully cried out its name signifying that it was more than open to the suggestion and so Ash held out a Pokeball which the Steel Ant Pokemon tapped and as soon as it was sucked inside, the Ball dinged almost instantaneously signifying no resistance.
"Welcome to the team Durant." Ash thought as soon his thoughts turned to Butterfree and his mate.
"So Butterfree, do you want to rejoin the team?" asked Ash.
Butterfree then turned to his mate who was nudging him to do it. They already had this chat before and they agreed it would be better to join his former trainer so that they wouldn't be hunted anymore.
Butterfree then chirped cheerfully which Ash interpreted as a Yes and so like with Durant, he held out another Ball except this was none other than the same Ball Ash used to capture Butterfree in as whenever he would release a Pokemon, he would keep the Ball as a memento of their friendship. Butterfree also recognizing the Ball teared up a bit touched that Ash kept it after all these years. Butterfree happily slapped it with his wing and like Durant, the Ball dinged instantaneously signifying no resistance. Ash then turned to his mate.
"Seeing as how your mate joined us, does that mean that you want to join as well?"
The Pink Butterfree nodded but then said some words in its native tongue. Ash couldn't translate directly but was able to get the gist of what she was trying to say.
"So you want to join but aren't into battling. Well then I have a perfect solution." Ash said as he turned to Serena.
"Hey Serena, I think you should explain performing to Butterfree's mate here." Ash said.
Serena getting where Ash was going happily did so and soon, the Pink Butterfree was greatly intrigued by the idea of not only having to battle but show off beauty and elegance. It then chirped to Serena which Serena was able to interpret as it wanted to stay with her.
"Well then, Butterfree..." Serena began as she held out a Pokeball which the Butterfly Pokemon happily slapped as well. It soon went inside and the Ball as well signified another instant capture. Serena smiled, "Welcome aboard." she finished.
And with that Chapter 5 is done. So you may be all wondering why I gave Ash a Durant. Well I like the Pokemon. It can hit hard, tank hits and move pretty damn fast for a Steel-type. I have one on my competitive team and it's saved my butt on many occasions. So yeah I thought why not give Ash one. And finally, you all probably knew but I had to bring back Butterfree and his mate. I mean he was Ash's first capture for crying out loud. And as for Serena catching his mate, well I got that idea from an old story called Pokemon: The Road to Becoming a Master by darkmachines. It hasn't been updated in a while but I remember when I read it, it was one of my favorite stories and also one of the main reasons I started this in the first place. Anyways, that's all from me folks and from the words of the great Troydan, keep your sticks on the ice amigos.
