VIOLET FLINCHED SLIGHTLY WHEN SHE FELT A POKE ON HER SIDE. She had decided on taking a nap right after she had spoken with Julie, but instead fell into a deep sleep.

"Oh good, at least we know she isn't dead!" She heard Reggie say. She was half awake, but kept her eyes closed to listen.

"Did you forget already?" Alex said next. Reggie thought for a moment.

"Oh... right. Well what should we do now? She's been asleep for God knows how long."

"I've got an idea." Luke said. Violet wondered what that could be.

"She's going to kill you even more." Alex commented as Luke just shrugged.

"What's even the deal with you two right now?" Reggie then asked curiously.

"We're just friends." Luke replied promptly. "Like what we were originally. Anyways, let's see if this'll wake her up."

Violet was curious, but still kept her eyes closed. She even almost fell asleep fully again once she felt a wet feeling in her ear and instantly jolted up.

"Did you just give me a wet willy?" She screamed as she swatted the boy's hand away from her.

"Ow!" Luke exclaimed as he rubbed his hand. "Why so violent, Violet?" Alex and Reggie laughed as Violet glared at all three of them.

"You are so disgusting!" Violet yelled as she got up to sit away from them and crossed her arms petulantly. If anyone ever messed with her in her sleep, she would immediately be in a bad mood.

"What do you dimwits even want and why did you wake me up for it?"

"We're heading to Julie's school, so come on." Luke told her as he went over to her and pull her arms.

"What? Why?" She asked as she was now up on her feet.

"Julie's going to go and get her chance back at the music program! I gave her a song that I though suited her best." Luke then informed the shorter girl. She smiled when she realized that Julie did listen to her and decided to go with what she advised. She also wondered what song Luke gave her. Probably one of the songs he wrote in his notebook for Sunset Curve.

"Cool. Sure, I'll come." Violet agreed as she grabbed a random sweater that was sitting by the chair and put it on as she was feeling a bit chilly. Luke was staring at her and Reggie and Alex gave each other sly looks. She was confused as to why they all looked like that until she realized she was wearing Luke's sweater and blushed.

"Uh, sorry. I just picked up the one closest to me." She awkwardly said as she pulled on the sleeves.

"No, it's cool. You look good in it." Luke replied with a slight smirk which made her blush. She shook her head immediately and turned so none of them would see her pink face.

"Okay! Off to Los Feliz High School we go!" She declared before poofing away.

The four of them immediately appeared in the gym of Julie's school and looked around to see a bunch of the students plus a girl group performing. It was convenient that they poofed right by Julie and didn't have to go looking for her.

Julie quickly noticed them and half-whispered knowing that her friend wouldn't hear her due to the loud music. "What are you doing here?!"

"We wanna see you stick it to the man, isn't that right boys and Violet?" Luke told Julie as he turned to face the three. Alex smiled, Violet nodded and gave a thumbs up, and Reggie looked mesmerized by the performance.

"Man, I miss high school."

Violet snickered as she, Alex, and Luke turned to watch the performance. "I don't."

She had to admit, the song was pretty catchy and she even lit up a bit when it mentioned Freddie Mercury. She didn't even realize it, but she started copying the dance moves and started dancing herself from where they stood at.

Alex too started dancing and the two danced together. That was until Luke stopped the both of them and gestured for them to cut it out. She was confused until she saw the nervous look displayed on Julie's face.

The performance soon ended and rounds of applauses happened. Violet clapped politely but her claps slowed when the lead singer began talking a bit.

"Wow. That was, uh." She said when she watched how the group, which she learned to be named Dirty Candy, all walked away.

"Now is your chance! See you in music class!" They all heard Flynn say to Julie as she walked away. They all looked back to see the principal and Julie's teacher now in front of everyone.

"Well, that was sweet!" The principal started off which only ended with dead laughter from the students.

Dead laughter from Violet too if that would count because she found that joke humorous. It was only her laugh, heard by the guys and Julie who all gave her weird looks.

"What! It was funny!" She defended as they shook their heads with a smile since she had one of those contagious laughs.

"It was not." Alex just said plainly as Violet just pushed his shoulder away from her.

"What are you waiting for? This is your time!" Reggie told Julie when the principal was giving out final announcements before the students were dismissed.

"Yeah. I mean, you look really nervous. Like yack in a bowl nervous."

Julie sighed, "I just don't think I had enough time to work on the song."

"I wouldn't have given you the song if I didn't think you were going to rock it." Luke told her trying to reassure the girl.

Violet nodded along, "Yeah! Remember what I told you, Julie?" Julie nodded her head. "They will love it, and you are going to be amazing up there! See that piano up on the stage? It's calling your name and it's time for you to go up on it. You've got this!" She smiled at her. Julie took a deep breath and began to walk towards it.

"What did you tell her?" Reggie asked Violet once Julie was away from them.

"Just something an old friend told me." She responded as she caught a quick glance at Luke and smiled softly at him.

"Go Bobcats!" They heard Julie's music teacher say as the students cheered. At this point, Julie had made it up on the stage and sat by the piano while students began to get up and walk back to their next classes. She began to play but then stopped and looked over at the group of ghosts.

"You got this!" Luke encouraged as Violet gave her a thumbs up.

Julie continued to play the piano again as they and Flynn watched her while students continued on walking. A light soon lit up on her as she began to sing.

"Sometimes I think, I'm falling down..."

Violet furrowed her brows, but nonetheless continued to smile at the girl as she sang on. Something about the song sounded familiar to her but she couldn't pinpoint on it.

Some students stopped walking to listen to her play and Reggie looked over to see them. Luke was lip-syncing the lyrics as she went on.

"Life is a risk but I will take it, close my eyes and jump

together I think that we can make it, come on let's run..."

All of a sudden, Violet froze. The reason the song sounded so familiar to her was because she was the one who wrote it.

And it wasn't a song that she would've given out freely.

She turned to face Luke angrily for an explanation, but next thing she knew, she was on stage with Julie and the rest of the guys, but instead of playing the keyboard like she usually did, she was with Bobby's guitar again.

Julie looked over at them, surprised. she took the microphone off the stand and walked towards Luke as she sang.

The guys all looked happy to play again, not realizing what was happening. Violet was glad that she could play, but she'd rather go and play on the instrument she knew best. Instead, she just strummed a bit lazily on the guitar, but her hand fell a bit once she realized that the other kids could see them play.

The students began crowding towards the stage and that's when the guys and Julie began to notice as well.

"Uh, is this really happening?" She asked Luke once she finished up with the chorus.

"Just go with it" Luke told her as he walked over to the other mic to sing the next verse.

Julie walked over to jam out with Reggie and Alex as violet stayed put. Julie then walked over to her next, but she just gave her a quick smile, not too happy. Well, she was happy that Julie was singing and they could perform with people seeing them, but she wasn't happy with the song choice.

Julie instead gave her a questioning look before turning to go back where she was with Alex and Reggie. Violet just took a deep breath to prevent the tears that she wanted to let out.

Luke was at the part right before the chorus and motioned for her to come and sing that part with him just like old times for being the two leads.

She ignored him and instead Reggie took her place.

They were almost finished with the song, and Luke motioned once again to Violet to get her to sing with him again. She didn't join him.

She didn't sing the whole performance.

The song finished, and the five of them took their bows before disappearing and leaving Julie on the stage herself, also leaving everyone in the audience confused.

Violet ended up poofing to some random hallway in the school. She was by herself and she had no idea where the boys ended up.

She looked around to see that she was by herself and that hallway was empty.

Tears began free falling from her face as she just sat down by a random locker. It sounds silly for her to cry over a song, but it was a song that was so special to her and she only shared it with one other person.

She wrote it during a time where she felt lost in her life. It was when she first found out about her dad's illness and the fact in not knowing how much time left he had hurt her. There were other things that made her write the song, but that was one of the main reasons.

She barely talked to him thinking it would help ease the pain when he would leave her and her mom. That was stupid and thinking of it made her cry even more.

Was he alive still? Did he die? She didn't know, and she probably will never know since her family had moved houses.

Luke was the one person she showed the song to, and she wasn't planning on showing it to anyone else. He knew that. He was also the one who had helped her finish the song. Now she was just pissed at him even more.

She decided to stop crying thinking it was foolish of her and stood back up. She could hear footsteps of students approaching and decided to move away even though they wouldn't be able to see her. That was until she almost fell again.

"Hey, are you okay?"

She looked up (curse her shortness in being only five feet, two inches) to see a pretty tall guy, probably around six feet tall. He had blonde hair, brown eyes and was pretty attractive all in all.

She looked blankly at him before standing back up. She turned and saw another girl behind her and figured that he was talking to her instead and began to just walk away.

"Hey, kinda rude to just walk away when someone asks a question." She heard the same voice from behind her and turned to see that he was following her.

"Wait... you can see me?" She asked slowly as the guy just looked at her and laughed.

"Yeah I can, why?" Violet crossed her arms before asking again.

"Are you, you know, dead?" She went straight to the point as she waited for him to respond. Students passed through them and she awkwardly moved aside to where it was more empty, still not completely used to people going right through her.

"Yeah." He responded to which she just widened her eyes. "Gunshot in the heart."

"Holy sh- I am so sorry to hear."

"No worries." He laughed again as Violet just stared at him. "I've gotten over it. It's been almost twenty five years, can't hold onto it for that long."

"Wait, twenty five years? Wow, that's cool." Violet commented as he just raised his brow. "I-I don't mean it like that. What I meant was that I died twenty five years ago too, so it's kinda cool we died within the same year. Okay that sounds so weird. I died from a stab but um, yeah." She awkwardly corrected herself as she pointed to where she got stabbed at.

"Oh, that's cool too then." He replied as Violet just smiled awkwardly at him. "You never answered my question by the way."

"Oh, um, I'm fine."

He didn't look convinced since her face was a bit tear stained and her eyes were glassy, but didn't push it. "I saw you and your band at the gym. You guys were pretty rad."

"Oh, thanks." She responded as he said a you're welcome back. "We were helping out Julie, the one singing at first. We didn't know that people would see us on stage."

"That's awesome! Look, I gotta go but it was nice meeting you..."

"Violet. You?"

"Riven." He introduced. "It's nice meeting you, Violet, but sadly I have to go and meet up with someone. Hopefully, I'll see you around soon?"

Violet grinned, "Yeah, sure!" She waved goodbye to him as he walked through the students. She heard the bell ring causing the students around here start leaving and decided on just walking around the hallways a bit.

She turned one hallway and saw Julie and the guys talking. They were by themselves and she walked over to them.

"You can see us, and then people could see us whenever we play music, and my clothes are made of air but for some reason I'm still getting a wedgie." Alex rambled as Violet got to them. Luke started rubbing his back in comfort as Julie and Redgie gave a disgusted look.

"Tmi, Alex. Just tmi." Violet commented.

"Oh hey, Via! Where ya been?" Reggie asked first. Violet shook her head.

"No where important."

"I have so many questions." Alex then said as he looked to the ground.

"The important thing is that we rocked that place! They were loving you!" Luke exclaimed excitingly as he turned to Julie next.

"Are you kidding? They loved us! That was a really great song, Luke. Thanks." Violet crossed her arms and frowned, which no one noticed, as Luke just smiled.

"And did you guys see the cheerleaders? I think they were looking at me" He turned and grabbed Luke by the shoulders. "Please tell me they were."

Julie laughed as Luke grabbed Reggie's cheeks and grinned, "Bro, they were looking at you!"

"Oh I knew it!"

"Boys." Violet commented once again as she shook her head.

"I'm so, so confused you know? The afterlife should come with instructions or a quick start guide or something."

"Well, the good news is that everyone thought that you guys are holograms."

"Holograms?" Violet asked since she wasn't there after the performance.

"One of the Dirty Candy members asked if you guys were holograms so I just used that as the answer." Julie answered.

Violet questioned next, "Well, did you get back into your music program?"

"Yeah." Julie replied but sounded a bit sad which confused the group.

"Why do you look so bummed?"

"Yeah, dude, you're making this face." Luke said as he brought Alex and Reggie in and the three made a face to show Julie how she looked like to them.

"Hmph. First off, that is not my face."

Violet looked at Julie then the guys, "Sorry, Julie, but it kinda is."

"Not you too, V." Violet just gave a tight smile. "And second, things just got weird between me and Flynn. She asked about you guys and I couldn't say."

"Sweet! Girls are already talking about us." Reggie sort of whispered as he and Luke high-fived each other. Violet rolled her eyes and smacked Reggie in the back of his neck.

"Ow! What was that for?!" He asked as he rubbed his neck in pain.

"Not the time!"

"I'm serious, guys. I can't tell her for the same reasons why I can't tell my dad."

"And that's understandable." Violet agreed with Julie as Julie continued. "She'll think i've gone off the deep end."

They heard wheels approaching and Reggie turned. "Well this dude definitely thinks you've gone off the deep end."

They watched as the janitor passed by and faced Julie and gave her an odd look.

Once he was gone, Julie spoke again. "I've gotta get back to class." Violet waved goodbye as Julie started to walk.

"Later, Julie!" Reggie waved. "Oh, tell those cheerleaders that I'm single!"

"Oh, and that he's dead." Alex added on right after which made Violet snort.

"Oh, no no no leave that part out!" Reggie said immediately after but stopped after he turned. "Oh she's gone."

"So where were you, V?" Luke asked first as he turned to face back to the shorter girl.

"I already told you guys, no where important."

"And by that you mean...?"

"Oh my god Luke, I don't have to tell you everything! But if you must know, I was just down another hallway." She snapped as the three of them looked at each other from her burst. "Oh and by the way, nice song, Luke." She spat out as she glared her eyes directly at him and poofed away.

"What just happened...?" Alex asked once the girl was gone.

"I have no id- oh." Luke stated as his eyes widened and he poofed away next.

Reggie and Alex stared at where Luke was standing. "That was weird." Reggie commented and the two of them poofed back to the garage.

"So did you see her?" A man asked as someone entered in. The room was pretty much dark. No lights were lit except for a single candle, but you could hear faint music from a distance. His back was faced to the other person so they couldn't see his face.

"Yes." He answered truthfully. "What do you want me to do now?"

"Now we bring her here." The man turned around as he smirked vilely.
