All Nightmare Long

Chapter 397

Author's Note: I am so sorry about the wait for this chapter. It did NOT want to be written. I knew I wanted to show the Sanctuary even before Sunday's finale. I started writing, with the full intention of bringing David to the Sanctuary with Sylvie. I had Sylvie's part written and it just didn't sit well with me, well her. So I had to rewrite it. Now, can we just discuss Janis for a minute. Really? Seriously? Oh my God, Jewel wanted to kill Janis before she even betrayed them. This may be two chapters, because I do want to show David being captured by the Saviors. Please review.

The Sanctuary:

Sylvie took a breath as she stopped behind trees and looked through them to the Sanctuary. She had debated with herself about just letting the dead ones' take her and not return, not to deal with Negan, or the saviors'. She had literally been ready to shoot her gun up in the air and wait for the dead to eat her, but even then, she didn't have the courage to do it. She had been raised to believe that suicide was wrong, but in this world she had decided that if she had been bitten, she would do it. She thought that if she just sat down and let the dead overtake her, then she would could do it, but then she heard the sounds of them, the moans, and she couldn't do it. She still had some fight in her, and if that meant going back to the Sanctuary, facing Negan, trying to keep the attention off Dwight and Sherry, then she had to do it. She had managed to get away but not without a sprained ankle in the process. She probably managed to make it worse by walking on it. She took a breath as she felt a gun being pressed into her head.

"Negan will be glad to see you," she heard a male's voice said.

The brown haired woman turned and looked at him. "Simon," she greeted.

"Where's D?" Simon asked.

Sylvie shrugged. "Tina was bit, we buried her, spent the night holed up, woke up Sherry and Dwight was gone. Aren't you going to let Negan know that I'm here?I bet you'll be rewarded greatly bringing me back to here, to him."

"I'm already his right hand man, Syl. You're going to tell him that Dwight made you steal the insulin, get him the keys, that he made you go with him," Simon told her.

"I don't lie well, Simon, especially to him," Sylvie told him.

"You know he's lenient with you, but he's not going to let this slide," Simon warned her. "Tell him that you were coerced, tell him that you are sorry, agree that you'll consider marrying me or one of the other saviors," he told her.

Sylvie looked at him. "Radio in, tell Negan that I'm here. I sprained my ankle running away from the dead, so I may need some help walking," she said. "I just want to get this over with, face the music as they say," she said. "So just radio him," Sylvie told him.

Simon looked down at her before hitting his radio. "Negan, I was outside the perimeter, found one of our runners."

"Which one? Are they still breathing?" Negan's voice said through the radio, causing Sylvie to jump.

Simon looked at her and held out the radio. "Say hello," he told her.

Sylvie took a breath. "Hello Negan,"she said as she stared at Simon.

"Well Shit, is that my baby sister I hear? Returning to the roost. Well Simon bring the little rooster up to the coop," Negan ordered.

"On it. She's got a twisted ankle, should I take her to the Doc first?" Simon questioned through the radio.

"We'll take care of it up here, I want to see the little chickadee," Negan said.

"On our way," Simon said as he ended transmission. "You wanted to make this quick," Simon said as he took her arm. "You know he was worried about you. He does genuinely care about you, like I haven't seen before. You are probably the one person here that he will be somewhat lenient to in this situation, but unless you tell him that Dwight made you do this, I'm not sure how lenient he is going to be."

"You don't have to preach to me about Negan and his moods, Simon. I've known him longer than you, Simon," Sylvie told him as they walked up the stairs, him helping her.

Simon looked at her. "You also know how dangerous he can be," he said as he passed saviors on the landing. "I'm not the only one who missed you, you know. Laura missed you, and Sampson,"he said with a smirk.

"I don't know what you're talking about Simon. Sampson and I are just friends, just like Laura and I," Sylvie said.

Simon stopped and turned and looked at her. "You are right, you are a terrible liar, Syl," Simon said.

"Does Negan know?" Sylvie asked.

"You know that Negan knows everything. He suspected that Sampson had something to do with it, luckily he had been out at one of the outposts, or he would have suffered. If you were going to run, you should have never gotten involved with anyone, Syl. You just endangered him. He was on one of the first hunting parties to look for you, he was thinking that Dwight did kidnap you. But, I knew better, even though I didn't voice that to Negan," Simon said.

"Why didn't you? You tell Negan everything," Sylvie told him.

"I had no proof and Negan would have wanted proof. Now, I'm telling you, to put everything on Dwight, make him believe it," Simon said as he knocked on Negan's door. "It's me," he yelled out.

"Come in," Negan bellowed out.

Simon looked at her. "Are you ready?" he asked.

Sylvie didn't answer before she took hold of the door knob and opened it and stepped in, being greeted by the site of her ex-brother-in law swinging the bat covered with barbwire that he named after her sister. "Negan," she greeted.

"Simon leave us," Negan ordered as the other man nodded. Negan looked at her. "Sit down," he said. "Prop up the ankle let me look at it," he ordered as he put down the bat against the wall. He looked at her when she didn't move. "Sylvia, my patience is not to be tested today," he warned her.

Sylvie glanced at the bat before she hobbled over to the couch and sat down and put her foot on the couch.

"Where's Dwight, Sherry and Tina, Sylvie?" Negan asked.

"Tina got bit, she died, we buried her, Sherry and Dwight took off, leaving me on my own. I obviously was coming back, Simon did find me right outside the gates," Sylvie said as he came and sat down on the couch and put her leg on his leg.

"How did you do this?" Negan questioned as he looked at her ankle.

"I fell getting away from the dead ones," Sylvie told him. "You know how bad I am with a gun, couldn't hit the side of a barn," she told him.

Negan nodded as he wrapped her ankle. "That's why I tried to set you up with Simon, so you could be taken care of. But now that I know you were knocking boots with Sampson, I can understand why you were so resistant," he told her. "He's a good man, I would have no objection to it, if you had came to me," he said as he squeezed her ankle. "Now, I know Sylvia that you had something to do with my truck being taken, the medicine and me losing a hot wife. Don't insult either one of us by trying to deny it, they couldn't have done it alone," he told her.

Sylvie grimaced in pain as he squeezed her ankle. "I did, but Sampson had nothing to do with it."

"I know that, you wouldn't have wanted anyone else to be in trouble for what you did. But I want to know why you went against me? Anyone else would have been beaten by Lucille now, she's hungry for blood," Negan said as he released her ankle.

"So why don't you kill me Negan? I betrayed you, and for all you know I'll do it again," Sylvie said.

"No, you won't because if you do, it won't be you that pays the price," Negan told her.

"I told you he had nothing to do with this," Sylvie said as he looked him.

"I know that, but since you don't seem to appreciate that I have been keeping you safe, not making you get your hands dirty, giving you a nice room, anything you want and I don't even ask you to be a wife. I mean that would be sick since I've know you since you were thirteen and I was married to your sister. You are like a sister to me, and in Lucille's memory I am going to do what I can to keep you safe," Negan said. "So tonight we are going to announce your engagement to Sampson, or tomorrow morning he'll be guarding the gate, as a dead one. It would be a shame, he's a good man, a good savior. it would be a shame to lose him. And as far as anyone will know Dwight made you do it, with the threat of death. Are we clear?"

"What if he doesn't want to marry me? What if I don't want to marry him? You don't force women," Sylvie said.

"He wants to marry you, and I know that you don't want to see him as a dead one," Negan told her. "Now do we have a deal?" he asked again.

"We have a deal," Sylvie said.

"Good, I have missed you, Sylvia, it's good to have you home," Negan said.
