topsyturvy-dream Thanks for reviewing! (First review, YAY! lol) She is totally mysterious, there's going to be a whole lot to find out about her and sooooo much drama/ different pairings.
The sound of laughter caught Sasuke's attention, it sounded carefree and beautiful. His frustrated mind had been fighting off sleep for the past few hours, so getting out of bed and stretching his legs didn't seem like a bad idea. He didn't look back at his wife as he quickly pulled on his clothes, she wouldn't even notice he was gone, she had fallen asleep after sex and refused any more of his advances.
As he slowly wandered through Naruto's beach house he finally realised how impressive it was, nothing that he could afford on his salary. The enormous two story building made the soft padding of his feet against the wooden floor sound far louder, so he intentionally walked silently through the house, the last thing he wanted was for someone to hear him and ask him what he was doing because he didn't really know. He was just drawn to her voice like a moth to a flame.
Under the light of a full moon, Neji, Lee, TenTen and Mai were sparring outside by the pool. Sasuke was surprised when he felt the subtle burn of jealousy just from watching Lee help Mai adjust her stance. She was nowhere near Lee's level of course but she clearly knew how to look after herself. Without thinking he stepped outside, taking a deep breath as the cool night air whipped through his hair. They all turned to greet him, pleased to have another for their little training session. Apart from Mai, they all knew that Sasuke was incredibly tough. When it came to his own training he took a very serious and strict approach.
"Are we finally going to have that rematch?" Lee grinned, clenching his fists in anticipation. He had gotten in to a fight with Sasuke before he became a cop, it had ended in a draw, which had left Lee yearning for another bout for years.
"Okay." Sasuke grinned, discreetly checking to see if Mai was watching him. She wasn't even looking his way, she was doing cartwheels with TenTen for some reason. They were probably still slightly drunk. He pulled his top over his head and Lee did the same, if his well toned body didn't attract her attention, winning the fight would. His skills impressed every girl that was lucky enough to see him in action.
Lee came at him with a flurry of punches that nearly caught him off guard. Focusing on the fight instead of on the pretty girl giggling with TenTen, Sasuke managed to block each strike. He shouldn't have been surprised by both the speed and power of Lee's strikes, it had been a long time since they last fought and since then Lee had dedicated himself to fitness, he owned his own gym and over fifty first place trophies for the numerous tournaments he had entered as a demonstration of his strength.
"How about this?" Lee said, swinging his leg through the air with a high kick that would have probably sent Sasuke flying if he didn't guard his head with his arm.
Sasuke countered with a kick of his own but Lee saw it coming and back flipped out of the way. The evasive move saved him from the kick and looked pretty flashy but for a second it left him wide open, Sasuke seized that opportunity and darted forward with a swift uppercut that connected with his friend's abdomen. Lee stumbled back a little, his head lowered to the ground. Everyone watching couldn't read his expression until he finally lifted his head and revealed an enormous smile.
"It's been a while since anyone landed a hit on me. I need to step up my training!"
"How is that even possible, Lee?" Neji exclaimed, knowing already the lengths his friend went to every day to constantly push himself.
Rubbing the back of his head nervously, Lee responded, "Actually I've been spending more time looking for love recently."
Sasuke was standing close enough to him to notice the blush on his cheeks when he looked over at Mai, it made him want to fight him again.
"Well, I'm going to call it a night." Neji yawned. He could tell how fired up Lee was and didn't want to spend the next few hours sparring with him. It was 2 o'clock in the morning after all.
"I'm going to hit the gym for a bit." Lee replied, a focused frown replacing his carefree expression.
"Wait. There's a gym here too?" Sasuke groaned in disbelief. Naruto was so lucky that his Dad was mayor.
"Sure is, want to join me? Mai you too?"
"No thanks." They both quickly refused together.
A sideways glance confirmed that she was smiling at him, a mischievous smile that he dared to lose himself in. What was she planning? In a matter of seconds they could be alone together and he would find out. If she came on to him, he didn't see himself turning her down even though he was well aware that it was not a good idea. What if they were caught? In a house full of people it was highly likely. He thought of every room he had passed by, which doors were still open, until he was sure that there were three rooms all together that were unoccupied. If they chose one of those and managed to keep quiet...His daydreaming was cut short by Mai disappearing back inside.
He suddenly felt very stupid. He had been driving himself nuts for a girl he didn't know, he'd probably misread the signals she had been sending him too. When he walked by her on the way back to his room he couldn't help notice the outfit she was laying out as she rummaged through the pink bag she had left near the sofa.
"You run?"
She remained on her knees and raised her head, a look of renewed interest on her face. "I do. I'm going to go for a run at nine, do you want to come?"
His eyes widened and he nearly chocked on his own breath at her choice of words. She was still on her knees too and within arms reach.
"Sounds good." He managed to say before walking away from her much quicker than he meant to. If he would have stayed there any longer he would have grabbed her head and pulled down his trousers.
A/N Could not resist adding that last sentence!
