Hamish was always up first, he was more of a morning person than Vera who took at least three attempts to finally get out of bed and even then she was cranky until she had her first cup of coffee. Shocking that she drank it since she seemed to be a little like him in appreciating alcohol but even a goddess had to caffeinate it seemed. For now he was content to just let her sleep in, it was of the few times he could hold her in his arms without her trying to shrug off the 'gooey' feelings. Resting his chin on her shoulder he took in a deep breath of her scent, a scent he had memorized now and could practically track her across the world if he had to and he was planning on the event happening one day.

She smelled soft and sweet and worst of all alluring. Vera could have been an addictive substance or the werewolf version of catnip as far as Hamish was concerned. It was settling listening to her heart beating, a slow and steady flutter when she was sleeping that gave off a calming energy to both he and Tundra. His werewolf half had utterly loathed Vera at first, wanting nothing else but to rip her throat out and eat her heart but the more Hamish got to know her the more Tundra put down it's own guard about Vera. Now it seemed Tundra was just as protective over her as he was. The werewolf was no longer capable of harming Vera even if it wanted to because the binds were already laid down and the wolf was starting to associate her with the M word.

Hamish avoided thinking about that word because it was a little too strong and a little too real for him. Especially with Tundra set in wolfish ways and declaring this female was without question their new mate. Not since Cassie had Tundra been content with calling someone a mate even though the relationship with Timber had been messy between the pair of wolves. Some part of Tundra still loved it's Timber but it saw Vera as it's new partner. After all in her own right Vera was a leader just like Hamish was, she was an alpha female like Cassie had been and Tundra appreciated a strong female as much as Hamish could.

Even now as Hamish nuzzled into her dark locks Tundra felt happy and at peace. It wasn't until Angus had rushed Vera that Hamish even realized how protective Tundra had become of her. He had to snap Tundra out of a desire to kill the acolyte and even afterwards the wolf was more than happy to strut across the doorway to show it wasn't playing around and anyone else daring to hurt her would be met with a very brutal fate. It was so funny now looking back at the wolf's desire to kill her until they fought together and it instantly turned to "I like her."

Vera moaned as she started to wake up, likely from his general body heat making her feel uncomfortable. She was such a finicky little creature. She didn't like to be too hot and she got cold easily. "Good morning beautiful." He whispered into Vera's ear coaxing a little smile out of her while she stretched out her arms.

"Hmmm, morning." She still was a bit sleepy as she moved out from his arms and rolled over in bed to look at him. "Do you always wake up with that quaff of hair styled like that or do you go to the bathroom to fix it before I wake up?" She wouldn't be surprised if he did.

Hamish moved his head making his bangs flick back a little and bounce. For a guy he had some really nice hair but try as she may she never seemed to be able to mess it up because it all just went right back to its usual style. Maybe it was a werewolf thing. Running his fingers through his locks he laughed at her. "No, I did go to the bathroom though but not to fix my hair." Well that explained why his boxer briefs were back on because as Vera recalled they hadn't been by the time they had both gone to sleep. "Do you always wake up looking this breathtaking?"

"Lies" She responded sitting up a little and looking down at him, her elbow propped up on her pillow as she rested her head in her palm. Her hair was always a disaster after they spent the night together. Seemed like they were both in a competition to mess up the other's hair and Hamish was winning it.

"It's really not hard for you to look beautiful though Vera. I'm being completely honest, you could come out of a war zone and still look phenomenal." He leaned closer to her pulling her into a kiss. Hamish never expected more from it but Vera seldom let him down. Their innocent enough morning kiss got a little more intense before Vera crawled over the top of him. His hand resting up on her lower back and the other just behind her head. Every damn thing about her was soft, soft skin, soft hair, absolutely soft bedroom eyes. He could get lost in those lustrous green pools forever but eventually they had to get things done.

It seemed today the adult was Vera when she sat up to look at the clock. "Oh shit." Vera cursed a little breathy. "I need to get ready." She was small outside of those heels but damn was that woman quick as hell. Hamish hardly sat up by the time she already had slipped into a pair of underwear and snapped on a bra. Something told Hamish she was probably as fun in college as she was now, if not more so. He hadn't really known her back then since she'd been 4 years ahead of him. Of course back then he'd had Cassie as well, he wouldn't have been looking for anyone else.

Vera was gone in the bathroom getting dressed and fixing her hair when Hamish got out of bed and slipped on his pants again. "I'll see you later at Temple Vera, I just want you to know I'm going to the den today before lecture. Send me a text if you need anything." Grabbing his button up shirt he slipped it on and started to do it up opting to come back for the vest and tie later. At least it gave him an excuse to come back.

He checked to make sure the coast was clear before leaving her house, it bothered him that they were together but not publicly. Vera had certainly cut out this clear set of rules for going on with this relationship and it involved keeping it a secret from everyone, even the other knights. He could understand the why but it didn't stop it from hurting him a little and it didn't stop him from feeling there was always going to be a wall between them. The walk back to the den was a long trek but once he was back there was a sense of ease that came over him. At least for a short time before he could hear the shattering of glass and a loud scream. "Lilith."

Hamish rushed inside to see Gabby wolfed out to Midnight and snarling at Lilith who had trouble becoming Timber anymore. With the demon sigil on her face it had locked up Timber. Despite having all the strength of a werewolf she couldn't take a fight against a full wolfed out Midnight. Randal was standing at the sidelines trying to get Midnight under control but it was just another day of Gabby being too afraid to be a werewolf and letting Midnight take the reigns. As Midnight went to swipe at Lilith Hamish did what Randal couldn't. In an instant Tundra came out from under his human flesh and ran at the large black wolf throwing his full body weight into her and knocking her to the floor.

Midnight rolled and roared out in rage while Randal tried to calm her down. Swiping a claw at Tundra Midnight lashed out just trying to protect herself while Tundra fought back. A sharp slice across his pale pelt made Tundra yelp. Midnight took the moment to rise back up from under Tundra and grab the back of the other wolves neck before a latin phrase was uttered and both wolves were blown apart from each other. Lilith stood there, blood shedding from her hand as Gabby and Hamish took their human forms. Almost instantly Randal ran over with his jacket and drape it over Gabby's shoulders before snapping at Hamish. "Dude, that was so uncalled for. We had it under control."

Gabby was shaking, turning to Randal to hold him tight as Lilith walked closer. "From where I was standing it looked like Lilith was about to get the worst end of Midnight."

Gabby regained herself a little more, escaping the clutches of the wolf once again. "Midnight...Midnight says she has to die to free Timber from the demon's grasp." From Midnights point of view it was a valiant attempt to save HIS friend but it was at the risk of sacrificing their friend. "I tried to hold him back but he's too strong." However Jack had wrangled Midnight was lost to Gabby. She clearly didn't have the skill to hold back the rage and perhaps it was because of the rage she had inside herself. Midnight was just feeding off her pent up anger. Together they were a destructive force, a force that had killed someone she called a friend.

"Lilith, maybe you should go upstairs, Randal, you should take Gabby downstairs." Hamish wanted to get things under control. Randal could stay with Gabby since she trusted him most and he was the one who made her feel safe while Hamish dealt with Lilith.

"Thanks but you don't give us orders anymore Hamish. Come to think of it shouldn't you be off licking the Grand Magus' boots?" He snapped back at the older wolf.

A flash of silver came to his eyes as Tundra curled back up under his skin. Tundra wanted to slap that pup for even suggesting it was a boot licking whelp. Taking a deep breath Hamish calmed the wolf down and looked back at Randal. "This is far more important buddy. We need to get Gabby under control before she hurts anyone else. She has to be in control of Midnight."

"Jacks gone." Randal responded sounding a little more solemn. He wasn't forgiving Hamish, not by a long shot but he was grateful to not be the only wolf standing again.

"I know, and we will find him too but getting Gabby under control and getting Lilith back to normal are our priority. Four wolves are better than two to find Jack. Besides, something tells me it will take all four of us to hold back Silverback."

Randal sounded concern now. "Do you think he will try to hurt Gabby?"

"No" Hamish responded looking at Gabby who was still shaking, hardly present in the conversation. "I think he'll try to kill her."
