"Vera" Hamish flicked his wrist opening the doors to the reliquary only to see Alejandro sitting across from her having a laugh with her. Hamish stood still a moment looking them both over before clearing his throat. "Can I speak to you Grand Magus, alone." He glanced to Alejandro hoping that he hadn't caught him just calling her by her first name.

"Magistratus." Vera smiled at Hamish. "I was just finishing up here with Mr. Oliveira." She looked back to Alejandro. "Looks like duty calls, I enjoyed this conversation, perhaps we can pick it up another time." Alejandro stood up from his seat and took Vera's hand before kissing the back of it, the scene making Hamish sneer and clearly Vera had noticed. With a raise of one of her brows Hamish looked away from her looking a little hurt. As Alejandro walked past Hamish he raised his hand slightly closing the doors behind him and hoping that spicy gross smell of his cologne would go away but it just lingered in the room. This stuff was going to give him a headache and so help him if it clung to Vera's clothes that Brazilian would need to be cleaned up off the forest floor.

"Vera, I'm sorry I didn't know he was here." She stood up from her chair looking a bit intimidating, he didn't blame her if she was a little angry with him. After all he just about gave himself away right in front of a new member of the Gnostic council.

"That's alright Hamish, what did you need to talk to me about?" She didn't sound too happy to see him right now. It bothered him a bit, what else was she angry with him about today? Vera was a fantastic woman but she was temperamental. Getting on her good side wasn't an easy task and even if she liked you it seemed you could always fall right back into her bad side, maybe several times a day.

"I wanted to make sure you were alright, I worry about him being around you too much. He might…." Hamish paused and walked closer to her. "He might find out about you."

"I'm fine Hamish, he's too busy looking places he shouldn't to notice that I don't have my powers."

Hamish let out a little growl or was it Tundra? He couldn't tell as his eyes had flashed silver at the thought of that man disrespecting Vera. She wasn't meat, she shouldn't be treated like an object of desire. "Are you alright?"

Had she caught that growl? Hamish looked back up at her, his silver eyes turning back to their vibrant blue hue. "No, Gabrielle is doing better with her control over her wolf but we are no closer to helping Lilith than we were weeks ago. I feel like we just keep going in circles." He sat down in the opposite chair Alejandro had been in. "Anything on Jack?"

Vera walked over to him, resting her hand on the back of the chair, her look was more sympathetic now. It was hard to stay upset with Hamish, especially when he was sad. That bright flicker in his blue eyes faded into a concerning darkness as he turned his gaze away from her and mentally started to blame himself. He always did, blamed himself for not being a better leader, blamed himself for not looking out for those kids he'd put himself in charge of. Taking his hand in hers she sat down on his lap moving his hand around her to rest on her hip before wrapping her own arms around his neck. "Mr. Morton is staying well hidden. We can't track him, he's keeping us from knowing where he is."

His grip on her tightened a little as he looked into her beautiful big eyes, no wonder Alejandro was constantly flirting with her. She was so breathtaking even when she wasn't trying to be. She smelled fantastic too, maybe not being around her for a week had made him forget how great she felt, how intoxicating she smelled, how sultry her voice got, and how much he wanted to break that desk behind her again but it wasn't safe here at the temple with Alejandro around. "You're worried about him aren't you." It wasn't a question, more so a statement because Vera as hard as she tried did care about Jack. He still didn't know why but when she was ready to tell him he knew she would.

"No." Vera was bad at telling a lie, at least when it came to those members in her temple that she cared about. Most of all she was bad at denying her favratism for Jack which was why she'd been so honest to Jack about it. "Maybe."

Hamish moved his hand up her back and pulled her closer to him, her forehead rested against his. "He's a smart kid, he's going to be fine. He just lost the love of his life, young love you know. It's very powerful and when you lose the woman you care so deeply for it crushes your soul. It's going to be a long time before he will ever be able to move on from what he had for Alyssa but one day he will and one day he will find someone he cares about and every day he sees her that pain will fade away, slowly." Hamish was speaking from experience. When he'd lost Cassie his whole world had fallen down around him. He knew what Jack was going through, he knew Jack was in so much pain over Alyssa right now and he couldn't be around anyone. Poor kid was probably dying inside and Hamish wished he could be there for him. "He'll come home eventually Vera, when he's ready."

Why did Hamish feel like suddenly Jack Morton was their strange adopted son? In a sense maybe he was, at least to Hamish. The day he became a werewolf Hamish swore to protect him just like the others and once he'd lost his grandfather the Knights had become his only family. He didn't know if Vera felt as protective over the boy but from what she'd gone through this year for him he figured she likely did. Was it weird she and Jack were the closest things to parents he had anymore? Was it weird that was almost the role they both picked up even before being attracted to each other?

"How about, tonight after you leave the temple for the night you come to my apartment. You said you'd take a tour and I can make you a drink. We can both take a break from our responsibilities for the night. You need it, I need it." And maybe their was a small selfish part of him that just wanted her all to himself tonight. No Alejandro around to walk in an interrupt them or eat up all her spare time. God he hated that man, maybe he'd vanish like Kelper did so Hamish didn't feel like Vera had to walk on eggshells.

"I'd like that, I'll be around at 9: 30, 10 maybe. If you don't mind a late night." Vera smirked, oh, he liked that smirk. That was a good things smirk.

"Well it is a Friday, I don't have a class in the morning to be teaching and you don't have to get to the temple until what? Noon? We could pull an all nighter if you wanted."

Vera put her hand on his chest, "Don't overplay yourself Hamish. Besides I still like my beauty rest."
