A/N: Welcome to the next chapter. Not much to add here, but I do have a couple of points to add, then we'll get to the chapter.
I know people had commented about people think this story is too fast-paced and I agree for the most part but I thought I had it figured out how I would do this whole thing including the Kokabiel fight which is moved up in this story, but I got to thinking more on it and what a pain it might be so we'll just have to see but on another note, which I'll put when we get to the fight, is don't expect too much from any fight scenes in this story as I'm not too good at writing them but we'll see what happens when we get there.
I do not own High School DxD or any of its characters used in this story. The original story plot was done by ICan'tStandDroppedStories and is still a wip and this story was written with permission.
I meant to say something at the end of last chapter but forgot about it. I don't know how true the line is about Japan not being into religion but I've seen it in a couple of stories and the original of this one so went with it.
Tune into the end A/N of this chapter for a side chapter to add onto the events after the Phenex fiasco if you would like to see another side of what could have happened.
so let's get on with the chapter.
As the group made its way to the church, Issei couldn't be any happier seeing his old friend once again, but he also couldn't help but feel a sense of dread at the fact she was here on mission to help find the missing Excalibur fragments, though even that wasn't enough to remove his happiness at seeing her.
The three with him weren't too sure what to think about how happy he seemed to be, with even Irina being put off though she was still happily conversing with him, though it was more her throwing questions at him and him trying to keep up with them all.
"How long have you had a position with the church? I heard whoever runs this church wields Ascalon. What's that weapon on your back? Is it the famed Orlyndicus? It has the shape and the aura to possibly be it. What made you decide to join the Church?" She said before finally having to stop and catch her breath, before blushing as Issei just chuckled at her.
"Still the same old Irina I knew. No, it's not Orlyndicus, it's Ascalon which I pulled out when I sensed the two of you entering Kuoh with Excalibur fragments, something I'm on the lookout for, though its wrap is enchanted to keep supernatural presences from sensing it, which I hope the wraps around your swords are enchanted?" He said, getting a nod from the blue-haired girl.
"Yes, I made sure to get mine enchanted as I don't want any Fallen or Devil to realize I have one of the fragments, as who knows what kind of issues might arise."
Irina for her part had forgotten to get that done before they left, her mind only thinking about meeting the new wielder of Ascalon, was fidgeting before she finally replied, "Mine isn't. I forgot to get it done," before looking down at her failure to do it.
Issei was having a mild panic attack as he thought things through after learning that Irina hadn't had her wrap enchanted. 'Is that how Asia was able to sense something was up earlier? It makes sense in a way as I know what their aura is, and she knew they had entered the town right as I did. She just wasn't sure what was going on.' He tried to keep his voice calm but he didn't do too well at it. "Oh no that's not good. Hopefully, the Fallen haven't sensed it yet, but I'm sure they have by now. And now people are looking at us weird, I believe. Is that guy looking at us? No… he's just paying attention to his dog. I'll enchant it once we reach the church!"
Xenovia for her part just raised an eyebrow at that last part. Not only was this boy, who looked to be around her age if she had to guess, the latest 'true wielder of Ascalon', but he also was able to do enchanting since he sounded like he knew what to do immediately once they reached the church.
For the church to have this boy as their final team member, they must believe that whoever stole the Excalibur fragments was really strong. They had to be to deploy someone of this caliber. "How did you get Ascalon? Actually, how did you return it to its original spear form?" She asked, curious about the last part as she had always been fascinated with swords and was curious with this one since no one in recent years had been able to turn it back to its original form.
Issei only barely caught her questions as he was more worried about their surroundings but did realize he never had caught the second girl's name. "That's not something I can dive into right now, but I'll answer it when we reach the church. On another note, I never caught your name. If you said it I'm sorry I missed it." He said, which after thinking about it a minute he thought he'd seen her picture before but couldn't place it.
"It's fine, I hadn't mentioned it before now but its Xenovia." She replied, though could only look at him in confusion when he responded at first, then surprise.
"OH! That's where I've seen your picture before. You're Griselda's kid! Oh I've heard sooo many stories from her."
"You know Griselda? Are you one of her trainees?" Irina asked, hoping to push the topic away from her mistake of not getting her swords wrap enchanted.
"Yes and no. I did do some training under her while in Heaven, but got only about a week of it. I love how soft spoken and kind she is but she also has a strict side to her. Great person to be around. I would always take a chance to train with her again though." He commented, missing the gobsmacked looks from the two exorcists.
"Both her and Dulio, both of them are great people. Man that boy can eat. Though I heard it comes from how he grew up poor he made it his policy to never let food go to waste since he had starved most of his childhood. I also like his thoughts on water and how he has made it his only drink, saying something about how one may appreciate it if they have gone weeks without it." He said, before his face dropped for just a moment.
Irina and Xenovia were stunned at what they had just learned about Issei; they had thought he was just an exorcist like the two of them but now they knew his position was way above them in the Church. "You're an ANGEL?!" Irina said not quite yelling but close and making Issei cover her mouth to stop her words before people got suspicious.
"SHH! Don't be so loud! Yes I am and so is most of the group at the church as well as Asia here." He said pointing towards the nun. He did notice that Irina looked like she was trying to remember something but left it alone for now, not realizing what she was thinking of.
"You have more Angels here?" Xenovia asked him, before turning to Asia. "You're one too?"
"Indeed I am. Asia Argento, Gabriel's two of Hearts. It's a pleasure to meet the two of you." She said curtsying to them, though looked at Irina in confusion when she gasped as she realized where she knew the name from.
Issei though finally caught onto what exactly Irina had realized and stepped in before she could say anything, knowing how it was still a touchy subject for Asia. "before you say what I'm sure you're about to Irina, I can assure you that the rumors about her are false, and the excommunication was found to be done under wrong circumstances. She's one of the finest healers around and that I've ever seen, as well as the kindest in my group." He said, putting some edge in his voice, thankful he caught wind of what his friend was gonna say before she did.
"But unless you've changed that much since I last saw you, I know you wouldn't have meant it in any mean way, but it's still something that is a touchy subject."
Irina for her part blushed a deep crimson as she realized she had almost made a bad blunder and turned towards Asia before bowing deeply towards her in apology. Asia had come close to crying as she realized what had almost been said as while she was happy and elated to have been given a second chance, it still hurt some when it was brought up, though she did nod her head in acceptance to Irina as Issei came up to her and patted her on the head knowing that she had proven herself to him and the Seraph as someone who deserved her position as an Angel.
'I also need to make sure that a notice gets sent out about her excommunication being lifted. I thought one would have been sent out by now but either it hadn't reached Irina's group before they left for this mission or due to everything going on at the time a notice never did get sent out.' Issei thought to himself, not sure which one was the case but figured it might have been the first one more than the second, but he would definitely make sure it was done.
Xenovia was as surprised as Irina once she realized who the girl that had been with Issei was but she was glad that it hadn't ended somehow in disaster if Issei had taken it the wrong way what her partner had almost said, though she did ask a question that his words made her think about. "You have a group under you?" But right as she asked it, the group heard a phone go off before seeing Xenovia reaching for her phone saying excuse me for a second.
As Xenovia looked at her phone, she knew it would only be one person that would message her, as the other person that might is on this mission with her and she wondered what her guardian might be needing. But as she looked at the text message, she could only wince. Griselda had just messaged her with the knowledge of Asia Argento that they had just learned themselves.
Issei couldn't help but notice the wince and had a guess as to what the text was about. "I'm going to make an innocent guess that that was either Griselda or your normal superior letting you know what we just discussed?" He asked, getting a look of fear from Xenovia at that. "Don't worry about it if it was as it seems to be that word just hadn't reached you yet for whatever reason before the two of you departed for Kuoh." He said getting a relieved sigh from the two exorcists at that, before he got back on topic.
"But, Yes. We do have more than just the two of us here that are Angels. Including Asia here, I have seven Angels under me, but we work as a separate group most of the time from the main church due to our composition as we're made up of mostly trauma victims. Coincidentally, we also have a survivor from the 'Holy Sword Project'. Isabella, or Kiba, doesn't take too well to mentioning of the project or the swords which it was based off of, so be sure to tread lightly when you mention having them." He said making sure to look them in the eye when he said it and getting a nod from them before he moved onto the rest of his group.
"We also have a former Fallen, and Asia's sister, who also got ousted as a witch and came close to being raped by the late Riser Phenex as he mistook her for the deceased Gremory Heiress. Both of them as well as Asia have gone through real bad discrimination in the past, so you shouldn't call them out on anything." He said giving the two a glare that made Irina's blush go into cherry tomato-skin tone, and got an understanding nod from Xenovia.
"The pure-blooded Angel in our group was kidnapped by some rouge Fallen who attempted to break her and turn her into a Fallen but she persevered and survived until I happened across her one day. She tends to take out stress by snarking at you, but Ray is kind at heart so don't give in to her words. We also have another former Fallen that had family issues that scarred her but she's a tough one and has come a long ways since joining my group. The last two in our group, one is a former Yokai, and the other is a victim of a vampire attack. The latter is reserved, will barely talk to you until she gets to know you while the former is completely terrified of all interactions. Even though they've all had tough lives, I'll give them credit on surviving this far and trying every day to get over their pasts. Though, do remember, their past is still there along with trauma and fear and they will react poorly sometimes if confronted. Treat them kindly though and they'll become some of your best friends." He finished with a sad smile on his face and a few tears fell down as he thought about what everyone in his group had gone through with Asia nodding her head at his words.
The two exorcists weren't too sure what to think as the group sped up since they were only a couple blocks from the church, as Irina thought back on what all she learned today; her childhood friend becoming an Angel, and also learning about Asia who she had heard stories about being cleared of all her issues and becoming one too, thankful that Issei caught on to her thought process before she blundered as they reached the church.
After Issei unlocked the church, the two exorcists walked in and looked around curiously, Xenovia due to never being at this church before, and Irina since she grew up here and wondered what might have changed since she had moved, as Issei locked the doors behind them and walked up to them. Xenovia though turned towards him with a question. "Can you answer my question now?" She asked, getting a confused look from him. "How you got Ascalon?" She said getting an 'oh' from him.
"It's not a very interesting story I can promise you but I got it after finding I was super compatible with it. I could tell that it didn't feel complete somehow so I willed my magic into it and the next thing I knew I had repaired it to its spear form. I know how anticlimactic that was but what can you do sometimes. You never know when miracles can happen." He said sheepishly, before hoping he didn't say too much since no one except the higher-ups in Heaven, their Brave Saints, his group of Angels, and Sirzechs as far as he knew, knew who exactly he was but he decided to push that thought aside for the moment as he brought the spear from his back and waved it around a little bit, making sure he was far enough back that he wouldn't hit anyone.
Xenovia couldn't help but help but see how his footwork looked so graceful but also odd. It seemed natural but also not as orthodox as what the normal stance and footwork that an exorcist had, like he was naturally good at it. Which was something that was the truth but Xenovia didn't know that he had this footwork thanks to his new powers. Xenovia didn't really care about his footwork, though it did cross her mind at first. No, she was more interested in the other parts. "I like your form. Would you mind teaching me on how to use a True Holy Sword?" Surprising him with her question.
He knew she had Durandal from his talks with Griselda and that she hadn't fully mastered it yet, but it still surprised him that she would ask an unknown, to her, stranger for help with something like that. "Sure I don't mind, but I'm not the best person to ask about Holy Swords but I can try to teach you. As I only recently got Ascalon, I'm not terribly skilled with it yet but I'm good at stabilizing and directing its power, and can help there if you want."
"That works just fine for me as that's where I need help with. Thank you Exorcist Issei." She said not changing the expression on her face, but he could tell she looked happy.
Issei had to wince internally at what she called him but decided to go with it for now and hoped he didn't overdo some part of the training and possibly give himself away, though one tiny part of his mind did wonder what Irina's reaction would be to learning he was Gods successor. 'She probly would either go into a giggle fit, faint from the shock or body slam me into the ground again.' He thought laughing to himself.
Out loud he tried to get back onto the current issue. "I hope I don't disappoint. Though back to the current issue. From what I can sense, you have Excalibur Mimic Irina, and Xenovia you have Destruction?" He asked, getting a nod from the two. "That makes sense as you had said you have control issues Xenovia that the Church official would give you the one that requires the most control to handle to help you out with where you lack as well as helping with your control of Durandal. Once again, good call on whoever made that decision."
Irina, who still was stunned at running into her childhood friend and who now was an Angel at that, took a minute before she realized something. "Wait! Xenovia has Durandal?! That's so cool!"
"Yeah I heard about it through Griselda. She's really proud of you Xenovia." He said, praise evident in his voice as he complimented the girl and getting a blush from her, but before either of the two girls could comment on his remarks, a new face made its way into the church from the back.
Akeno had been in the back in her room when she heard a commotion from the front and decided to check it out to find Issei with two guests in exorcist garbs talking. "Ara, ara. I see we have guests today. It's nice to meet you. I'm Arabella Hero, an Angel under the command of Isaac Helel, the Joker of Hearts." She said as she reached the group, not using Issei's real name since she didn't know the two.
"Nice to meet you!" Irina said, happy to meet another Angel before she turned to Issei, assuming that Akeno was talking about him. "Is Isaac a nickname? I really like it."
Rubbing the back of his head, he just had to laugh at how little Irina had changed over the years. "It's more of a cover blind so people can't learn anything about me I don't want them to know, so it'd be better for now if the two of you started calling me Isaac."
"Certainly. We can do that Exorcist Isaac sensei." Xenovia said getting a sweat drop from him as well as making Akeno wonder what was going on there but decided to ask about it later as Irina hugged him nodding.
"Oh. Isaac, is Asia with you? The others should be in here soon I would think."
"She had to go change her habit since she got grease on it during lunch." Thinking back on lunch time, he had to laugh. "I never realized it but that girl can eat. She could easily give Dulio a run for his money at eating."
Akeno could only laugh at the image his words brought up. "She managed to eat a full burger?"
"One? She ate out the whole restaurant. Multiple burgers, large fry and a large milkshake. It was great to see she loved the food but disturbing at the same time." He said, getting a laugh from the group as they thought of the petite girl eating that much, with Akeno even beginning to snort as a couple more people came into the room.
"What's so funny that has everyone laughing?" Kiba asked as her and Arisa came in from the back.
"I agree. And I see we have new guests." Rias said, seeing new faces and also getting a little worried about who they might be, considering everything that's happened in the last couple days, but did take solace in the fact that both Issei and Akeno were at ease and laughing with them.
"Oh! Sorry about not introducing everyone to each other. This is my childhood friend Irina Shidou, and her partner Xenovia Quarta." He said as he put his arm around Irina's shoulders. "Irina, Xenovia, this is two more of my friends and teammates Isabella, also known as Kiba, and Arisa Argento. We were just laughing at how your sister Arisa ate her weight in hamburgers earlier." Surprising the two new arrivals.
"Wow I can't imagine that, and I'm her sister!" Arisa said laughing, and she wasn't just saying that to follow their cover. Even though they hadn't known each other very long, Arisa had already come to respect Asia and her kind, soft spoken attitude. She had no issues calling the girl her sister.
"I can see it since she always seemed to fill her plate as much as she could during meal times." Kiba said chuckling as she remembered how surprised she was at how much food Asia got at meal times. Right after this happened, one more face popped his head up from behind Rias where he had been hiding after making his way into the room.
"W-w-what's so funny? And i-i-I see new people have joined us." Gasper said, having come out of the back, trying to get around his fear of new people though was also fighting his mind saying to run back to the back. He happened to be wearing a habit like Asia normally wore going along with his feeling better in girls clothes.
"How do you do! I'm Irina Shidou, and this is my partner Xenovia Quarta. I've known Isaac since childhood." She said, calling him by his nickname like requested, before trying to tease him a little bit. "I see you seem to have mostly girls in your group Isaac. Is there something going on?" Though it backfired a little bit with his next words.
"I'll correct you in that Gasper here is a boy that likes to dress as a girl." He said, having realized what she was trying to do to his amusement, and causing both Irina and Xenovia's eyes to widen and everyone else to laugh. "He has massive social anxiety and a tendency to cross-dress he picked up from his childhood friend, so his current outfit fits what he feels most comfortable in, so please work with it." He said, getting a nod from the two after their shock wore off.
"Thank you Isaac for the words. I-i-I'm trying my hardest." He said right as Xenovia went up to him and hugged him.
Irina was shocked to learn about Gaspers fears but was even more shocked when Xenovia acted different and went up to the boy and pulled him into a hug, getting an 'eep' from Gasper. "My my. Definitely a cute one." Though as an unintentional side affect of her hugging him, he did struggle some and knocked the sword off her back which also caused the wrap to partially come undone.
Kiba heard the clatter of the sword, and while she had noticed the swords the two were carrying, she hadn't thought too much about them until it clattered to the ground, which made her gasp in shock once she recognized it. "I-is that an Excalibur fragment?! I thought they'd all been stolen! What's it doing here!" She yelled, making both Xenovia and Irina realize she had to be the one that Issei had warned them about being mindful talking about the swords around, but it was too late to turn that around, and now they had to worry about her reaction.
"Yes most of them were stolen but we were given these swords to combat the thieves and get them-" Irina said hoping to calm her down but she got cut off mid-speech by Kiba.
"I get that and that the thief most likely came to Kuoh but that doesn't stop my grief! I'd like nothing more than to get rid of them all, find a way to put them in my Sacred Gear permanently to where they can't cause harm to anyone anymore, especially Nightmare as bad as that one is. The original was too powerful and these fragments have caused there own grief since being made and it's due to people like Valper Galilei and Freed Sellzen, though I am thankful to Isaac for killing Freed. You'll understand if I'm not very trusting of men like that, more so people like Valper. Not when he did what he did to us kids." She said before going up to it and picking it up like she was gonna do something to it, before putting it back down.
"Though, I have conflicting feelings also since this sword itself hasn't done anything wrong so I'm not sure what to do anymore." She said falling to her knees crying as Issei came up to her and pulled her into a hug.
While Issei hated the fact that the sword had shown itself like it had and caused issues, he knew it wasn't Xenovia's fault so pushed past it and hugged Kiba. "I'm so proud of you Kiba! I know how much willpower it took for you to say those words but how you are working on being past it. If you keep working at it, I'm sure you'll be able to come to terms and let go of your… baggage." Issei complimented her hugging her as Kiba wept into his shoulder, wetting his robes and it didn't look like it would stop anytime soon, though that didn't bother Issei any, as Xenovia quietly moved to grab the sword and wrap it back up. Everyone else stayed back not sure what to do.
As she finally calmed down and fell asleep, Issei picked her up and moved to take her to her room while sending a look to Arisa to take over in his place which she accepted as he moved out of the room.
"Wow that was… depressing but also a really sweet thing to see from Issei." Irina said shocked at both what had happened and what her friend had done to help Kiba out.
"I agree. He may be strange, but he is also a nice man." Xenovia said, not too sure what to think of the boy yet.
"I have to agree. All of us are thankful to him and Arisa as they helped to bring the rest of us into the group. Arisa was one of the first in his group along with Asia and Ray, and they were willing to welcome us with open arms." Arabella said, making Arisa blush. "They truly are amazing people."
Blushing, Arisa could only stutter as she wasn't used to such praise. "Wha-what are you saying? I only did what I knew was right."
"But most people wouldn't do even that much! You're r-really kind." Gasper said, trying to keep his bravado strong but it started to fail at the end of his words.
Deciding to change the subject Akeno moved on to another question she had. "Does anyone know where Kona or Ray are?"
"They might not be back from passing out flyers, or they might be caught up again in the darn claw machines." Arisa said laughing at the last two in their group and their fondness for the machines, along with everyone else.
"While I agree that they should stop doing that, they are fun, at least when you win." Arabella giggled as she said. "Though they both can't get away from anything that's huggable and cute, so maybe that's why they like Isaac so much." She finished, getting a laugh from everyone that knew him.
"I have to agree with you-" Arisa started to say something before the door into the church unlocked and slammed open causing everyone to jump and look at the door right as Raynare came in with Koneko, both looking worse for wear. Both had badly torn clothes with Raynare having cuts and bruises all over her body and her hair a total mess. Koneko had it worse though from what everyone could tell, though thankfully, Asia had just come back from the back of the church right as they came in and immediately ran over and started healing the two.
"Get Isaac! We got attacked by an old friend of mine and a face Kiba should recognize." Raynare said as she nodded her thanks to Asia.
"What happened?" Arisa said as she reached the two, not happy at seeing the two hurt but thankful they had made it back to the church.
"I basically answered already but we ran into an old face; Yuuma Amano, someone we thought was already dead, and she was able to use Excalibur Rapidly against us." She said, making everyone gasp as they realized the problem they had. "Then to top it off, Valper Galilei was there with her and gave us a hint to their plan; they plan on recreating the original Excalibur!"
["WHAT?!"]
A/N: and that's the end of this chapter. Sorry it took so long to get this chapter out but just wasn't into writing a lot since the last chapter. Hopefully the next chapter will be out faster but we'll see. Couple things.
As I was writing this part, I had to think and make sure I remembered all of the Angels under Issei and so decided to write it down here for everyone just cause I could, as well as what names they are going under at this time.
Angels under Issei in Kuoh:
Issei, Isaac
Rias- Arisa Argento
Asia
Koneko- Kona
Gasper
Akeno- Arabella Hero
Kiba- Isabella. Goes by both.
Raynare- Ray
I've been thinking about it for a while now about doing a side chapter for what if Asia wasn't able to get ahold of Gabriel or Griselda after the Phenex fiasco, so here it is. It won't be great but I've wanted to for a while. The first one is going to Heaven directly to report, the second one will be getting ahold of Griselda instead of Gabriel.
Going to Heaven- Side chapter
As Asia canceled the communications circle on another failed attempt to get ahold of Gabriel or Griselda, she wondered what she should do now before deciding to go to Issei and see what he wanted her to try next. Right as she turned to move deeper into the church towards the bedrooms, he happened to be coming back from taking Arisa to her room. "Isaac." She said, catching his attention. "I'm sorry to report but neither of them are answering my call. What would you like me to do now."
"Don't worry about it, thanks for trying though." He said as he patted her shoulder, while thinking on the issue before coming up with a plan of action. Waving Raynare over, he gave the two of them orders. "Asia, Raynare, head to Heaven and make contact in person to let the Seraphs know what's happened. I would normally suggest trying to jump straight to Sixth Heaven but since they aren't answering, I'm afraid that might not end well until you explained what's going on, so head to First Heaven, and see what the gate guards can give you information wise." He said, before catching what looked like a flicker going through Asia's face that might have been sadness but it passed too quick for him to tell, and he wasn't positive he had seen it so he decided to give more information just in case.
"Asia, I know you can do it just fine by yourself but please take Raynare with you for me, just to possibly help with getting where you need to go. If this wasn't such a big issue we have now I wouldn't be against sending you alone for a job like this." He said, patting her on the head this time as she nodded her head in acceptance of what he said with a smile before the two made the jump to Heaven.
Scene Skip
As the two reached Heaven, they saw the gates of First Heaven and the guards standing by in front of it and moved forward. "I think we should ask the guards if they know if anything is going on since you couldn't get a response." Raynare suggested to Asia right before they reached them, getting a nod as it was as good a suggestion as any.
As the guards did their job and stopped the two to make sure they were who they said they were, Asia stepped forward with a question. "I'm sorry to interrupt your job, but do either of you know if Lady Gabriel is available for an emergency meeting, or even her Queen? I've tried contacting both of them but neither of them are answering a communications circle."
"From what I've heard, the Queen of Hearts is not available as she is out on a Stray Devil hunt and I believe that the Seraphs are in a meeting right now." One of the guards answered her question without any issues, since this was one of the jobs that the guards were able to help with anyone having a question, though it was rarely used.
"I wouldn't be asking this if it wasn't important, but do you think we can get an audience with the Seraphs now, which works best them being in a meeting since they all need to know about the issue, and how would I go about getting one." She said, her voice calm, though Raynare had known Asia long enough to know she was probably a little scared right now. 'Keep doing what your doing Asia.' She thought. While she knew Asia had gotten a lot better at handling stuff like this, it still gave her issues every now and then.
"We can send word to them and let them know you two are here for an emergency meeting, but past that I will not make any guesses on how long it will take to get word back." The guard said in response and getting a nod back from the two.
"Please do. We'll wait in First Heaven until we have word." Asia said as she bowed her head in thanks to the guards as her and Raynare stepped through the gate.
Scene Skip
Having been alerted by the gate guards about Asia and Raynare's arrival and request for an emergency meeting, the Seraphs immediately cleared the two to come up to Sixth Heaven and all of them were wondering what would require the two to make a trip to see them, knowing both about where they are stationed as well as who Issei was, and important enough to call for an emergency meeting.
As the two reached Sixth Heaven, they saw all of the Seraph and immediately kneeled towards the group. "Rise, you two. I hope everything is ok in Kuoh, though it is a little worrying you asking for an emergency meeting." Gabriel said, smiling at the two as they rose and stepped over to the table.
"It is and it isn't Lady Gabriel. No one was killed or injured in our group but we had an incident with the Maou Lucifer and the Phenex Clan tonight and Lord Issei ordered us to give everyone here a heads up in case they try and contact Heaven before he could come himself." Asia said, both confusing and shocking the Seraph at her wording. Getting a nod from Gabriel to continue, Asia told them what had happened from her perspective.
"I don't know what happened when the group teleported out, but that's what happened that I saw personally." She concluded, before noticing the shocked looks from the Seraphim.
Gabriel was stunned at what she had heard happened so far, and understood why Issei would send someone to make sure Heaven knew what had transpired recently, especially Rias Gremory and her peerage turning into Angels. "Thank you for coming and letting us know what happened and I can understand why you don't know everything so we'll be waiting on your group to make it's way to Heaven later whenever you're able to make it. Don't worry about how long it takes, we'll see you when you get here." She said getting a nod from the rest of the Seraph as Asia and Raynare got ready to head back to Kuoh knowing that they had interrupted a meeting.
"Thank you for seeing us so quickly, but I think we should leave and let you continue your meeting." Raynare said, saying something for the first time as both her and Asia bowed once again before leaving the Seraphs to their meeting.
Scene 2
Griselda was working on some paperwork at one of her churches she helped run when she heard the notification for an incoming communications circle. "Griselda," she answered it still looking at her paperwork as she wasn't sure who might be calling her this way.
"Thank goodness it went through." The voice of Asia Argento came through the circle, surprising Griselda as she wasn't expecting to hear from her anytime soon since she was assigned to Kuoh. "I hope I'm not interrupting anything Lady Griselda."
"Not really, just doing some paperwork. Is everything alright?" Griselda asked, noticing what seemed like urgency coming from Asia's tone as her mind moved away from the work to the matter at hand.
"Yes and no. We had an incident in Kuoh not that long ago that Lord Issei ordered me to report to either Lady Gabriel or you if I couldn't get ahold of our King and since she's not answering I tried you."
After hearing those words, Griselda immediately understood why she would be put on the list to contact should something happen. "Understood. Let me know what you can and I'll head to Heaven and report it for you." She said, before being given what Asia could about the situation which left her stunned.
Once she got the information, she immediately let Asia know she'd handle it before leaving her office to let them know she had an emergency issue to handle and she'd be back. She knew now especially why Issei would want Heaven alerted to what happened and left to find any of the Seraphs to alert them for the group in Kuoh. This was not something that could wait until the group was able to make it to Heaven themselves as none of them knew how the Underworld would take the killing of Riser Phenex.
A/N: and that's the end of that side chapter. Not a great chapter but something I had wanted to get out there so hope you like it. Let me know what your thoughts are on this kind of side chapter if I come across any other times I might could do something like this. I had originally planned on doing one where she got ahold of Griselda instead of Gabriel as another side chapter but decided to just do this one.
Please like, review, favorite, etc… and let me know what you think.
Until next time.
