All Nightmare Long

Chapter 408

Author's Note: As I'm watching the episodes, and writing down the dialogue, I realize that Glenn won't be around for long. Good thing I am going to do the two months that they skipped. And poor Jewel will be thinking our Summer is dead in those two months. My poor babies. But this is the Walking Dead. Please review.

Joey and Quinn's POV:

Joey and Quinn glanced at each other as they walked slowly to the armoury, keeping there eyes moving around watching the walkers'. Joey made it to the armoury door and glanced around, attempting not to draw attention to them. He raised the door of the armoury, and motioned Quinn in.

Quinn noticed Olivia holding the gun. "It's us, we're alive," Quinn told the other woman.

Olivia looked at both of them, not lowering her gun. "Why are you dressed like them?" she asked.

Joey walked past her, directly toward the weapons and flare guns, without responding. "Gonna need to make this quick. It's going to get dark soon and I want to make sure you get home before I go to the gate," he told Quinn.

Quinn moved over to him. "Excuse me? What do you mean get me home?"

"Exactly what I said. You just lost your mother, and you need to be with your family," Joey said.

Olivia looked at Quinn. "Deanna's dead?"

"She got bit," Quinn said. She then turned her attention to Joey. "So you just suggested this to get me to come and drop me off so you can play a hero?" she asked. "It's not going to happen," she informed him. "I told Rick and Jewel that I would come with you, and that's exactly what I'm going to do."

Joey looked at her. "You volunteered to come with me, I was perfectly fine with coming alone. When you decided to volunteer, that's when I decided you needed to get home to your family," he said.

"You don't get to make that decision," Quinn said. "Part of my family is dead, part of my family is safe, and some of my family is sitting right next to me. I appreciate that you want me to be with my brother, and with my children, and with Gus, but I'm not going to let you do this alone. That's not even an option, so let's not waste our time and our breath about arguing about this. My mother died protecting this place, by going back for Rick, and I'm not going to let her death be for nothing. If you die because you are out there alone, and you don't make it to the wall, and then Rick and Jewel and the others may not succeed and Alexandria falls. I'm not going to let my parents' legacy die like that. We do this together, we have a better chance of surviving and succeeding."

Joey looked at her. "It's risky, there's no guarantee that either one of us will make it."

"But we have a better chance of success together," Quinn pointed out.

"Are you sure you aren't the politician in the Monroe family?" Joey asked. "Fine, you win."

Olivia looked between the two of them. "You're not thinking about going back out there. It's not safe," she pointed out.

"Olivia, we have to, people are depending on us," Quinn said. "We're prepared. We are dressed like this because it masks the smell. You ready?" Quinn asked Joey.

"I'm ready," Joey said as he took the weapons he needed.

Tara, Rosita, Eugene, Carol Mar and Morgan's POV:

Mar rubbed her head as she sat up. "Oww," she said.

Eugene bent down. "Easy."

Mar looked at him. "Where did you come from?"

Eugene looked at her. "From outside," he answered as he helped her up.

"Where is he?" Mar asked noticing the Wolf was gone. "Tara, Rosita...where is Mitch? He was with you the last time I knew.. She noticed that Rosita and Tara exchanged glances. "Where is Mitch? Where. Is. My. Son?" she demanded.

"The wolf had Denise, he was threatening to take her, had a gun to her throat. Mitch volunteered to take her place, he took both of them," Rosita explained.

Mar joined Tara at the door and took a breath. "My son is out there?"

"I'm sorry, once he volunteered, there was nothing we could do," Rosita told her.

"I'm going to kill him," Mar said as she leaned against the door.

"We have to try to get them," Tara said.

"We can not go out there, there are too many of them,"Rosita said.

"Rosita he's gonna kill her, kill Mitch," Tara said.

"We won't get to them," Rosita said.

Mar looked at her. "If it was Abraham, would you have the same opinion?"

"I'd use my judgement like I am now," Rosita answered.

"They need us," Tara said as she walked over to Rosita.

"We'll die, that is what will happen. We have one gun and the streets are filled with those things. That man needs them. OK. She's a doctor, he's sick. If he hurts Mitch, then Denise isn't going to cooperate. And, I think we've seen that he knows how to survive. But we need to make sure that Carol and Morgan are OK. Mar, you can barley stand without the help of the wall. We need to make a plan. We can not just go," Rosita told them.

"OK," Tara said.

Rosita looked at Mar. "Mar?"

"I've already lost one son, Rosita, I don't want to lose another one. But I know what you are saying is true. It won't do anyone any good if we wind up dead," Mar said. "I don't like it, but we'll do it your way," she said.

Carol moaned. "OH God," she said sitting up. "Rosita gonna need your gun, gonna do a sweep of the brownstone. I want to see what other surprises are in here," she said.

"Carol you should sit down. You had a concussion before, this probably just compounded it," Mar told her.

"I'm fine," Carol said as she took the knife from Eugene.

"Hey, he's waking up," Eugene said as he motioned to Morgan.

"Easy," Rosita told him.

Morgan sat up and looked around. "Where is he? Where is Denise?"

"He took her didn't he?" Carol asked.

"Mitch is with them too," Mar said.

Rosita handed Carol the gun and let her leave.

Mar shook her head and looked at Morgan. "If my son dies, if Denise dies, it's on you Morgan. You should have never kept him, you should have never let him live the first time," she told him.

"Let's take a step away," Tara said as she guided Mar away by the shoulders. "He's a tough kid. He stood up to Abraham on the road. He volunteered to go with Denise because no one does it alone anymore he said. That's brave."

"Well I hope that I get a chance to yell him for doing something so dumb," Mar said.

"You will," Tara assured her. "We'll get both of them back, and they'll both be fine. And I'll hold him down while you yell at him. But make sure you give him big old hugs before you yell at him. He's a brave kid, he may not have been born a Dixon but he's proven that he is one."

Mar nodded. "Yeah," she said as she hugged Tara.

Eugene looked at Rosita as he held onto the machette. "Sooner or later, we're fighting our way out. I know that you are fully aware that we will," he said.

"Yeah we will, not you," Rosita told him.

Mar and Tara both looked at Rosita. "This isn't the time," Mar said.

"By my reckon..." Eugene started to say.

Rosita sighed. "Eugene, come on," she said as she walked away.

Denise and Mitch's POV:

Mitch ran under the steps and bent down in on one side of Denise and the Wolf being on the other side. He looked at the Wolf. "You can let her go, you have me," he said.

"Mitch," Denise said as she started shaking.

"You know, I like you kid. I could train you to do what I do," the Wolf said. "You'll live longer than you would in here."

Mitch looked at him. "I'd kill you first," he said.

The Wolf laughed as he put the gun to Denise's head. "Easy. When there's an opening, we'll make a break for that tower," he said.

"No, I'll just slow you down. And Mitch is staying with me," Denise said as she shook.

Mitch took her hand and squeezed it.

"Denise,"Denise," the Wolf said as he tried to get her attention. "You're here with me, I need you. Maybe I want you to stay. I'm enjoying your company so much," he said with a laugh.

Mitch went to sit in front of Denise. "Ignore him, he's a prick," Mitch said as he glared at the Wolf. "You're having a panic attack, right?"

Denise nodded. "How did you know?"

"I've seen some people back at the prison we used to live. Mika's sister, she used to have mild ones. Mika always told her to look at the flowers, we don't have any flowers, so look at me," Mitch explained. "Can you put down the gun? We aren't going anywhere. Only people with no brains would try to make a run through walkers'," he said.

"I like you kid," the Wolf repeated. He looked at Denise. "I like what you said before, that I wasn't born this way. You're right, I changed and now I want to help you change, help you both change," he said.

"We'll never be anything like you," Mitch told him.

"Why is that?" the Wolf asked curiously

"None of us would ever do what you did, we have humanity. I'd rather die then be like you," Mitch said. "You're not going to kill me or her. When you made the decision to take me with you, you got the both of us. If you hurt me, she isn't going to do anything, she'll refuse to help you. And if you hurt her, I'll refuse to go with you. You know why I volunteered to go with you? Because family doesn't abandon each other," Mitch said.
