Chapter 4: Annabeth POV

The Fury stabbed Percy in his chest, and her claw went straight through. He sat there, motionless and after a bit, he fell backward, hitting his head against the tile flooring. Once he hit the floor a dark red puddle started to grow.

"No!" I sobbed, "No, no, no!"

The Fury laughed," You see, Annabeth Chase, this is how you will end."

An arrow flew above my head, hitting the Fury in the chest. When I looked behind me, Adam was holding a bow in his hands. I was grateful, but Percy… he might be gone.

I felt for a pulse in his wrist, nothing. I held his head and sobbed into his shoulders. My clothes getting covered in dark blood in the process, but I didn't care.

Grover, Stella, and Adam rushed over. Adam shot another arrow at the last Fury and she disappeared in a cloud of monster dust. Stella held my shoulder, trying to calm me, but I just wanted Percy, he can't be gone. He can't.

"Annabeth, let's go," Grover urged.

I can't just leave Percy here, we have to take him with us, but I can't think of anything.

"Annabeth, right?" Adam asked.

I nodded, not moving away from Percy.

"Was he more than a friend?" Adam asked.

"Y-yes," I managed.

Stella sits down next to me, "Annabeth, come on, we'll take him."

I remembered something, he needs water to heal, "Guys, where is some water?"

Stella backs away, "Why? You're thirsty?"

"No, no, he can heal with water," I explained.

"I don't think there's any water near here," Adam said.

"And water fountains won't work for this extreme damage to his body," Grover added, clearly teary-eyed.

I slammed my fist onto the tile floor. It didn't do much to the floor, but it hurt. I didn't care. I wanted Percy to come back.

When I looked back at Percy, his eyes were full of surprise, his nose bleeding, a trail of blood coming from his mouth. I didn't dare to take off his shirt to see the damage the Fury did, I just knew it was bad.

"Annabeth, we need to take him back," Grover said.

"How, Grover?" I sobbed. "How are we supposed to do that?"

Grover seemed to be thinking about that.

"Can we call the winds or something?" Adam offered.

"I could, using my flute," Grover said.

"Your flute?" Stella asked.

Grover looked offended, "Yes, my flute. It has magical properties, and I can call upon the winds."

"Or we could call upon Poseidon, ask him to take his body to Camp Half-Blood," I offered.

"Would he listen, is the problem," Grover said.

"He might. Remember this is his son," I protested.

"Who is going to do it though?" Adam asked. "I don't know how and I don't think Stella does."

"No, I don't," She admitted.

"I will," I volunteered. It seemed right since I'm his girlfriend, after all.

"Are you sure?" Grover asked.

"I should, it seems best for me to do it," I said.

Everyone looked at me, waiting for me to say a prayer out loud, but I couldn't just do it out loud. It sometimes doesn't work out.

Poseidon, I started in my thoughts, Can you please take Percy's body to Camp Half-Blood? It would be a blessing to us, and he's probably too heavy for us to lift. It only seems right for you to take him. Please, could you take him?

Nothing happened after that, maybe he didn't listen?

"What's supposed to happen?" Adam asked.

"Is there supposed to be a bright light or something?" Stella asked.

"No, not usually," I replied. Something was up.

"Pray harder?" Stella suggested.

"That won't work," Grover said.

"How about we move him outside," I suggested, I hated that idea, but maybe Poseidon can take him from there.

Grover seemed to be surprised that I suggested that, but it's probably our only option.

"Alright, how?" He asked.

"Call the winds," I said.

Grover shrugged and played his flute. Shortly after, Percy was slightly floating in mid-air. His body was limp and dripping blood. I hated how his body looked, so limp and pale.

We moved him outside in the cloudy, chilly weather. It was misting as if the weather knew what was going on. Grover set him down, gently on the grass.

Shortly after, a gust of wind came by, bringing the scent of the ocean with it. It felt good and smelled good. It didn't cheer me up, but it's probably the closest I'll get to Percy again.

Percy disappeared in a small wave of water, turning into a mist, being carried in the wind.

I dropped to the ground, on my knees and started to cry. The ground was wet and cold and the water was seeping into my jeans, making me shiver.

Stella came next to me and tried to comfort me, but nothing would help me. Percy was everything to me, he was there for me, even during those months he was gone, I still loved him. Now that he was truly gone, I don't know what I'm going to do with myself. Percy can't be replaced by anyone. Percy was special, different, and most of all, Seaweed Brain.

Percy's fatal flaw was loyalty and his loyalty has costed his life, why did the Fates have to do this to my life, to Sally's life? What is she going to say to Sally? She's going to be heartbroken. She and Sally are probably going to cry for weeks with each other, grieving. Seaweed Brain, why do you have to be so Seaweed Brain?

I'm going to miss the away he called me "Wise Girl" and the way he smelled. His lips always tasted salty, but now I won't be able to have that anymore. His goofy smile and the way his sea-green eyes sparkled when he saw her. They had been through Tartarus and back, and I thought the worst was over, and I was wrong about that.

Memories of Percy were flashing through my mind. The time when I was taking care of him when he was only 12. When they played Capture The Flag together for the first time. When they had their first Sing Along together. Their first kiss at Hephaestus's garage. Their kiss underwater in the canoe lake. Their snuggles on the beach on the 4th of July. Everything they've been through hasn't been enough for the Fates.

"Annabeth, let's go," Grover urged.

I took Grover's hand and stood up. I brushed off the grass and some mud off my pants. We "borrowed" a car and went back to camp.
