All through his class Randal had been texting him little things here and there like "Dude, you still alive?" and "Can I have your things if you die?" Hamish was trying to ignore the constant texts so he'd turned off his phone. A mistake he was sure he'd regret once he dismissed his class and turned his phone on to see a barrage of texts from Vera. "Temple now, TEMPLE, acolyte report to the temple immediately." The worst one was the point she'd just sent an angry face. Hamish quickly texted her back letting her know he'd just let out his class and was on his way to the temple. His heart was racing, it felt like something horrible was going to happen to him. He wasn't afraid of death, let alone with Vera. As he walked down the hall his phone buzzed alerting him to a new text. "Meet me in the vault." There was sort of mixed emotions about that.

The first time he'd ever slept with her was in the vault, the day she's asked him to bring her a drink in a tall glass. Then again he was also aware that there was a knife in there that could kill a werewolf. He knew because he'd been stabbed by it before and he wasn't keen on getting stabbed by it again. It was a long quiet walk of wondering what was about to happen. Was she going to sacrifice him? No, he couldn't imagine she would but then again? Once he'd come to the abandoned house where the temple was hidden Hamish went up the steps and held his breath before pushing the secret door open. A few acolyte's were in the ritual room practicing some of their skills with their tutors. One or two of them trying to stop Hamish as he got close to the reliquary. "Oh, she said nobody is supposed to disturb her."

"It's okay, I got a text." He raised up his phone as if he had to show proof. The acolyte shrugged her shoulders and went back to working on her spell as Hamish waved his hand to open the door. Walking inside he clossed them behind him manually and went up to the bookcase. Pulling the proper book the book case opened up letting him go down into the nightmare hallway. He still got the chills when he came down here, was this going to be a trap? Was she going to let him face his worst nightmares? Hamish was a bit skittish as he passed the archway, jumping back a little when nothing happened. Why was he acting like something bad was going to happen? It was just Vera.

He fixed his vest and continued to walk forward until he reached the doors. Pushing them open Hamish saw Vera leaning against the oak table in the room with a book in her hands. She was looking nice, a little too nice. In fact she had on his favorite black dress which made him a bit suspicious now. This was either going to be one of her 'I called you in here to have sex' or it was going to be her 'I'm using my appearance to control you.' Either way Hamish wasn't actually too bothered by it. Vera without thinking about it flicked her hand to close the doors, Hamish smiled and was about to do it for her but then he noticed the doors were actually closing.

"Vera, you got your powers back?"

She looked up a little startled to see she'd actually managed to close the doors. "No." She sounded a bit concerned. "That's going to be a problem." Vera turned back to Hamish looking very tired again. She sat down on the table and set the book down beside her. "I'm sorry about this morning but I needed some time to myself." She didn't look proud from her outburst this morning and even more troubling Hamish just realized her usual glass of bourbon was a glass of water.

"About this morning." Hamish walked closer to her reaching out and pausing to see what her reaction would be. She seemed alright with him being here now, touching her on the shoulder he looked into her eyes. "What happened this morning?"

Vera stood back up and pulled out a chair for him. "Yeah, you are going to need to sit down for this." Hamish looked at her a bit concerned before sitting down in the chair. "Due to some recent events I had to do a little investigating. Now with one or two of them it didn't really raise my suspicions but three or four of them I really got concerned." Vera walked around Hamish and sat down in his lap, well someone was snuggly today. Hamish wrapped his arms around her, he didn't care what she told him right now, he was enjoying holding Vera. It was a rare occasion when she let him and it was even rarer when she was the instigator. If he could have it his way he'd hold and snuggle her every chance he could.

She still seemed a little uncomfortable as she tried to push his hands off her. "Hamish." She almost choked on his name, her voice cracking a little before she cleared her throat. "I'm." It felt like everything from the day and really following weeks had all clicked, Hamish didn't really need to hear the rest. He already knew what she meant. Hamish put a hand on her belly with a little smile on his face. This hadn't been something he'd expected or was even really ready for but he hadn't not wanted it either. Maybe not right now but Hamish would be a liar if he didn't admit seeing that picture of Vera and her daughter hadn't made Hamish dream of what a future with Vera could have been like in a perfect world. All the picket fences and maybe a kid or two running around. Of course in his mind that would be a few years down the road if both of them were even still alive then.

Now it seemed that timeline was cut to a quarter and he was resting his hand over their future who? Future werewolf, future Grand Magus, future astronaut? Hamish felt a deep sinking feeling in his gut, a feeling he knew was fear only because what this meant was pretty scary but at the same time he felt a little bit of excitement too. Hamish hadn't even realized he'd sat there looking all starry eyed for who knew how long with his hand on her belly and a little smirk on his face. "Don't get too attached." Vera stood up and walked around the back of the table. Resting her palms down on them she leaned forward a bit. "We are not keeping it. I just feel you should know since you are equally accountable and equally as responsible as I am."

Hamish snapped out of his little stupor and looked over at Vera replaying her words in his head. "What? What do you mean?"

"I've already made an appointment to go in on tuesday, you'll have to drive me back home afterwards. It's the least you can do." She looked over one of her nails trying not to look too bothered by this whole situation or offer him a point to argue with her in case he did and she hoped he wouldn't.

"Vera." Hamish looked like a kicked puppy. Standing up and walking over to her though Vera took a step backwards and raised her hand up to keep him from touching her again. "You." He really didn't have a right to tell her what she could or couldn't do because if he was honest he wasn't the one who would have to go through nine months of sacrificing her time and energy and then actually give birth to that kid. Still he grabbed Vera and pulled her in close to himself holding her in his arms again even if she didn't want him to right now. "I'm here for you Vera, no matter what you do. I'm not going to walk away from you any time soon. I love you."

Randal found Hamish at the bar in the den drinking shot after shot of straight vodka, well that wasn't good. Trying to cheer him up he went over and slapped hamish on the back. "Congratulations old man. Might I give you a suggestion, Randal is a lovely name and I happen to think it works for both a boy or a girl."

Gabrielle glared at him, "Oh please, Randal? Hamish wants his kid to actually grow up to be somebody I'm sure. That's why it's obvious to name her Gabrielle. I mean Gabrielle Duke? Sounds like a movie star." She motioned to Hamish. "Also don't worry, Vera can be pretty mean but she's got those hella pretty genes so even if she grows up to be bitchy at least she'll be stunning."

Hamish slammed his shot glass down and started to pour another shot of vodka. "She isn't keeping it."

"What?" Both Randal and Gabrielle shouted in tandem. They really needed to be around each other less, Hamish felt like they were turning into the twins from the Shining.

"She can't kill Fluffy." Gabrielle continued. "I was totally planning to show that little pup how to be a wolf. I already started a new instagram page #Gabrielleisthebestaunt. Midnight was even excited for another knight. He was going to show the new pup how to hunt and how to track prey." Randal looked over at Gabriel with a judgmental glare. "Midnight has a soft side too you know. It's not all kill or be killed. Gosh, it's like you don't even know me sometimes."

"Hamish, wow, that sucks. How do you feel about that?"

Hamish knocked down that shot as well and shrugged his shoulders. "Doesn't really matter, it's Vera's choice not mine."

"Yeah, I get that but how do you feel about it Hamish?" Randal asked again.

Hamish put down the shot glass and spun around in his stool. "Like I said, It doesn't really matter." Hamish pushed passed them both. "I'm going out."

"Out where?"

Hamish shrugged. "I don't know, just out." He slammed the door behind him as he left.

"Not how I expected that to go." Gabrielle said with a somber tone.

"Poor guy, I haven't seen him like this since he lost Cassie."

"What did he do when he lost Cassie?"

Randal patted Gabby on the shoulder, "He got wasted."
