String was sat in reception with his head in his hands when Michael and Dom walked in.

"String, how is she?"

String stood up and walked out of the door.

"Hawke!" shouted Michael after him.

Dom dropped himself into one of the chairs.

"What's with Hawke!" exclaimed Michael.

"He blames me and he is right too, it's my fault Cait is laying in a hospital, with God knows what wrong with her" said Dom, taking off his trademark baseball cap and running his hands through his hair. "I don't think String will ever forgive me if Cait doesn't make it."

"Hawke loves you like a Father Dominic, he'll come round. Although I admit I've never seen him quite as upset as he was earlier after he found Cait, he looked almost shell shocked."

"He loves her, Michael, I am sure of it."

"Well of course, you 3 make quite the team."

"No, I mean he really loves her, but not that he'll admit it."

"Oh, I see….well that explains a lot then."

"Argh! Maybe I should've had you check Abe out before letting Cait come down here like String said. It's just that I had no reason to think there was any risk."

"Even if you had Dominic, the FIRM have nothing on him. Not so much as a parking ticket. Nice little business, not in any major debt."

"Oh, well at least that makes me feel a bit better anyway" sighed Dom.

Just then a doctor appeared and headed towards them.

"I'll go find Hawke" said Michael

"No need, I'm here" said String as he walked back in "I'm not going anywhere until I know Cait is going to be OK. How is she?"

"We are just trying to get her stable, not knowing anything much about the chemical isn't helping but we have treated her hands and bandaged them, the rash to her torso isn't as bad as it looks and will subside. She is on oxygen and IV fluids and has had a high dose of steroids. We wont really know what effect inhaling the chemical has had until she is stable."

"Can I see her?" asked String

"Sure, follow me."

String followed the doctor along the corridor and followed him into the room.

"Here, she is, she's still pretty poorly, so please don't worry too much if she isn't very responsive. We hope to know more in a few hours when all the treatments have started to kick in properly."

"Thank you" said String as the doctor turned and left the room.

"Hey Cait, it's me" said String leaning down and kissing her on her forehead.

Cait stirred and briefly opened her eyes, long enough to see String looking down at her.

"Get some rest, I'll be here when you wake up."
