Mini Extra Chapter: Will Solace's POV
When I came back from getting supplies for Nico's injuries, I didn't expect him to actually take off his shirt.
His skin was pale, but he had a decent amount of muscle on him. Which surprised me, he didn't do a lot of exercise or sword fighting, he mainly stuck to the dead and shadow traveling. His face was bright red when I looked at him.
"Just hurry up with this, Solace!" Nico complained.
"Oh, Nico, calm down, I'm your boyfriend after all," I smiled and sat down next to him on the floor.
"Don't you dare take off your shirt too," Nico said.
"I won't," I promised. "I'm just looking you over."
When I went to touch his skin, it was warm, which I didn't expect, and he flinched.
"What? Does it hurt there?" I asked.
"No, your hands are cold!" Nico complained.
"I just washed them, that's why," I said.
I examined his ribs where he was kicked multiple times, there were only a few scrapes and bruises, but one bruise worried me.
"Nico, what is this bruise from?" I asked, pointing to the concerning bruise.
He followed my gaze, "Oh, I don't want to talk about that."
"Nico, c'mon, you need to. I'm your doctor," I said.
"I don't want to, Solace. Just hurry up with the examination already!" Nico grumbled.
"Yeah, yeah," I rolled my eyes.
He had a few scars here and there, his face was still bright red, but he was trying to hide it the best he could, but I knew that wouldn't work. I pulled his hands away from his face and kissed his cheek.
"Stop hiding your emotions," I smirked.
"Solace!" He complained.
I moved my hands down his side and he flinched at my touch again, "Nico, it's just me."
"I don't like being touched!" Nico protested.
"And you're going to have to get over that," I said.
Nico growled, but I continued to feel for broken bones. I checked his face, nothing wrong with that, just him scowling. I kissed him on the cheek again and he looked away and I knew his face was even redder.
"Don't even think about it, Solace!" Nico scowled.
"Oh, I know better, Sunshine," I sighed. I knew what would happen if I kissed him. He nearly smacked me the first time.
I stood up and went over to my supplies I left on a dresser and brought them back over to Nico. When Nico turned I noticed something worse than a bruise. Before Nico could turn back to his normal position I grabbed his waist and held him in place.
"Solace, I swear!" He protested.
"Nico, what are you hiding?" I asked sternly.
"It's nothing!" Nico said.
"Mmm-hm, sure di Angelo, show me before I turn you myself," I threatened.
Nico crossed his arms and turned so I could see it again. It was a nasty gash in his side, about 2 inches deep and 6 inches long. When I touched the outside of the wound, Nico winced. I grabbed some ambrosia and some bandages.
"Nico, where did this wound come from?" I asked.
"I don't know, it just showed up after Charlie's and my fight," Nico explained. "Mainly after you left the room after telling me to take off my shirt."
Gods this wound isn't something that is caused by kicking, I thought to myself, It's more like if someone decided to take a knife and cut you with it.
I grabbed a piece of ambrosia and gave it to Nico, he ate it willingly. I grabbed my bandages and some hydrogen peroxide to clean it out. He seemed to want to run away from me when I put some hydrogen peroxide on his wound, but he knew I could just capture him again.
Once I was done cleaning up his wound, I wrapped it in some clean bandages.
"Now, Nico, no shadow traveling for a while, understand?" I said.
"Yes, can I put my shirt back on?" He asked.
"Yes," I said as I stood back up. I cleaned up and threw away any leftover bandages and I put away the sterile bandages and hydrogen peroxide. When I came back, Nico was standing there in the middle of the room.
"Why are you still here?" I asked.
"Just wanted to thank you for helping me," He said blankly. Nico walked up to me and kissed me. "Thanks, Will."
