All Nightmare Long

Chapter 419

Author's Note: I had started this chapter several times and it wasn't giving me any motivation at all. Then I was sitting at work today trying to do payroll and Summer started yelling at me. She decided to tell me she wasn't going to stay put for two months, and started telling me exactly how it was going to be. So she's going to meet up with our group when they go out looking for her. But she'll be in a bit of trouble with some saviour's. I'm not exactly sure how it's going to work out yet, Summer hasn't shared that part with me yet. So, the chapter I had planned, with Jewel talking with Noel and them going out, is going to be postponed. Jesus is still going to meet the gang the same way, but Summer will know him. Carl needs Summer to help with his recovery. And six to seven days of my babies being tortured is enough. Blame Summer. Now I still have her planned to meet Negan, hence the reason she's going to decide she needs to go home. Review please.

Summer's POV:

Summer put her bag on her shoulder and picked up her bow and arrow, going downstairs, using the steps of the house to go lean on, going downstairs and going out the door. It was still early and not many people were awake at the Hilltop, exactly the opposite of Alexandria. She went to the mechanics shop and went to grab a set of keys to a car, grabbing hold of the wall of the building, taking a breath as someone grabbed her from behind, steading her. She turned quickly ready to attack.

"Easy Lass," the Scottish man said letting her go. "What are you doing up? The Doc wouldn't like you being up, and he certainly wouldn't like you lugging all your bags like a pack horse."

"Well then it's a good thing that I'm not going to be his responsibility anymore, now isn't it?" Summer asked.

"So you're stealing a car and leaving? Alone?" Archie asked. "Do you think that's a good idea? I mean the doctor said that you needed to rest, or you risk infection," he reminded her.

"Hence the reason I'm taking the car and not walking. I appreciate all that you've done for me, all that everyone has done, but this isn't my home. I don't even know if my family is alive, and if they are, they don't know if I am. I can't leave them wondering anymore and I can't wait anymore without knowing. Tell Jesus I'll leave the car at the place that you found me," she said.

"At least let someone accompany you," Archie said.

Summer didn't have time to answer before Kal ran in. "Negan and some of his men are coming up on the road," he said.

"What are they doing here this early? And why Negan? He usually sends Simon," Archie said. He looked at Summer. "Give me your stuff, lassie, I'll hide them. You aren't going to be able to leave right now, not with Negan and if he sees this stuff, he'll take half of it. Kal, get her a chair, she isn't going to be able to kneel. If Negan is here, then Gregory must have done something to piss him the hell off."

Summer looked at the two of them. "You kneel to this man...to this Negan? Why don't you stand up to him? You have the men," she told them.

"He has more," Archie said as he opened up a panel behind the wall and hid her things behind it.

"I don't want any part of this, I'm going to go, there has to be a back way out of here," Summer told them.

"He'll have the back surrounded," Kal said.

Archie looked at him "Go on, I'll talk with the lassie," he said as he nodded toward Kal to go. He put his hands on Summer's shoulders. "I know I'm asking you to trust me, and in this time that's a lot to ask for, but Negan is the most dangerous man that you can imagine. Actually, I hope you can't imagine someone like that because that would mean you are as sick as he is, and I would hate for that to be the fact," he said. "If I thought I could hide you away, from meeting this bastard, I would. But, knowing Gregory, he's going to have mentioned you, anything to take the spotlight off himself Come on, the gates are opening. Nothing is going to hurt you and I swear on my life," he said as he held out his hand.

Summer looked at him before taking it, leaning on him to walk. He walked her to a chair by the garden and watched as Gregory walked up to the gate as it opened and a man with a baseball bat covered in barbwire walked in, followed by a group of men and women.

"Negan, we weren't expecting you, it hasn't been a week yet. We weren't short on the last delivery. If we were, I certainly didn't know about it," Gregory stated anxiously.

"Gregory, shut up," Negan bellowed. "I hadn't been able to look over the delivery, was busy with a new wife, and it's been so long since I've came to say hi. And, see if you knew about one of your little minions taking out two of my men at one of the check point," Negan said as he snapped his fingers having two of his men come out with a man wearing a army jacket. "You wouldn't know anything about that would you, Gregory, my boy, would you? Of course you wouldn't be that stupid to send someone after me, you don't have the guts to be man enough to do that. So that means this idiot has some balls," he said as he banged the bat against the man's knees with the bat causing him to fall on his knees.

Summer looked up at Archie who shook his head, putting his hand on her shoulder.

"Negan, you don't have to do this," Jesus said as he came closer.

"You don't want to join him do you, Jesus?" Negan asked as his men pointed the gun to them.

"Back off Jesus, Davis was dumb enough to go to fight back, and he needs to take his punishment," Gregory said.

Negan laughed. "See that's why I like you Gregory, you follow the rules, you don't make waves," he said as he held up the bat and swung it, hitting Davis' head. Everyone dropped there eyes or turned around as Davis slumped to the ground, Negan continuing to hit him. He laughed as he turned around. "Man that felt good. Now let that be a reminder for anyone who thinks they can not follow the rules," he bellowed as he snapped his fingers. "Since I had to come all this way, I'm just going to have my people look around, see if there's anything good for me," he said as he looked around and met Summer's eyes. He whistled as he walked toward her. "Now, you're new here, I would have absolutely, positively noticed you before. I'm Negan and you are?"

Summer looked at him. "You just murdered that man," she said.

Negan bent down and looked at her. "A necessary evil sweetheart. Now, I introduced myself, the polite thing to do is introduce yourself back," he said.

Archie looked at him. "She's been injured Negan, she's tired, she was just resting when you came in, I brought her downstairs since I know you like everyone to be here when you come in."

Negan glanced at Archie. "That was very nice of you, I would have hated to meet out on meeting this beautiful girl. Now, sweetheart, your name, don't make me ask you again," he said looking at her.

"Summer," she answered, looking at him.

"A beautiful name for a beautiful woman. Do you have a group? How did you come upon the Hilltop?" Negan asked.

Summer looked at him. Like hell was she going to tell this bat wielding psycho anything about her family. "I;m alone, it's just been me for a while. I was shot and injured and Jesus and Archie found me, brought me here, I was out of it, don't remember much. Like Archie said, he brought me down here,"she said.

A bald guy behind Negan scoffed. "A girl like you, survived alone? There aint no way," he said.

Summer glared at him. "You'd be surprised what a girl like me can do," she told him.

Negan laughed. "Told you, didn't she Levy. You know what's funny?We have a guest at the Sanctuary, he says he's been alone for a while, tall fellow, thin, dark haired, stubborn prick by the name of David. You know the funny part?"

Summer looked at him. "Can't wait to hear it,"she answered, trying to keep her voice calm.

"He has an accent like yours, says he's originally from Georgia. That's about all we've been able to get him to say, he's not cooperating all that much. Where are you from sweetheart?" Negan asked.

"Wow that is funny, I am from Georgia," Summer said. "But Georgia is a big place, and I'm sure a lot of people are from there, either before or after the world went to shit. And there's alot of David's in the world, but I don't recall one that you're describing. I'm surprised, from what I've seen of your hospitality, that he's still alive if he isn't cooperating."

Archie started to say something before Negan laughed and stood up. "I like you sweetheart. We'll see each other again, and maybe I'll ask you to come join me at the Sanctuary. Archie, I'll tell your sister that you are looking good," he said. "Boys, move out," he ordered as he walked away. Negan walked with the man known as Levy. "TLeave a small group of men up on the back road, see if she trys to leave," Negan instructed.

"If she does boss?" Levy asked.

"Bring her to me," Negan said.
