Setting: September 2019; this is set 2 weeks after the events of the Phineas and Ferb special Act Your Age.

On a cool September morning, Phineas woke up for his 10 AM mid-morning class at Tri-State State University, where he and his girlfriend, Isabella attend college. After 10 years of friendship, they finally became official two weeks before classes began. Phineas took up electrical engineering while Isabella took mass communication. As for extracurriculars, Isabella, who now goes by Bella, is the Soccer Varsity Co-Captain, the Treasurer for the College of Information and Communication Technology student government, an RA, and a member of the Debate Club; meanwhile Phineas is a part-time mechanic for an intercity bus company called JAI Express – its garage located along the Danville coastal road, a 20 minute drive from the campus.

Being in college meant Phineas wanted more independence from his family, which is why he rented an apartment inside the campus with his friend: a tall, buff, dark-haired man named Kelly Ryan Wilson. Hailing from Birmingham, Alabama, Kelly became friends with Phineas only the week prior, when the redhead attended the student orientation for all the freshmen. The two hit it off once learning that both of them would take the same course and decided that they should be roommates, as Kelly was looking for an already occupied apartment to share with the rent. While Kelly and Phineas just recently became friends, the two actually knew each other the year prior, as schoolmates in Danville Community High School. At the time, Kelly was living with his cousins in Brooklyn, hence why he wanted to find a college within the Tri-State Area – he's accustomed to the hustle and bustle of city life and wanted to get out of his comfort zone.

Phineas did his usual routine – breakfast, shower, and fixing his attire. As he waited for his roommate to finish getting ready, he first called his girlfriend to see what's she's doing. Both of them have classes at the same time, however today, his classes would end at 4 PM; Bella's would be at 5, and that's not yet factoring in any extracurriculars she's gonna attend.

"Hi Bella! What'cha doin'?" he started.

Bella, who was fresh from the shower, sat on her couch, smiling. "Wow Phin, you're up early! I thought your classes start at 10?"

"Yeah it's 10 minutes before 9 so it's alright. Besides, Kelly and I wanna tour around the place for a bit." Phineas replied.

"Anyways, I just got out of the shower. Gretch left early and I have a feeling I'd go home earlier than she would."

"Yeah. Nursing is a really time-extensive course."

"Oy Phineas! I'm done now!" Kelly got out of his room, backpack in tow. "I don't see why we have to bring big bags on the first day." he complained.

Phineas looked towards the dark haired man and rolled his eyes. "Dude, you are aware that there's bound to be a lot of handouts to be given today. Probably the whole week."

"I suppose." Kelly relented, then noticed his roommate was talking to Bella. "Oh sorry about that, didn't know you and Bella were on vid-call."

"Yup, but we're gonna be ending anyway." Phineas looked back at his screen, "I'll see you later then?"

"Yes baby, bye!" and with that Phineas tapped the end call.

After securing their house, him and Kelly headed to the College of Engineering building – it's 9 AM and they're only a 5 minute walk from the apartment complex to the school building. Phineas was wearing his signature orange shirt with beige long-sleeved undershirt, blue skinny jeans, and faded blue hi-top Chucks. Kelly had a striped grey polo shirt, black ripped jeans, and a pair of white Yeezys.

"Anything you're expecting on our first day Phineas?" Kelly asked.

"Well, besides having to memorize a lot of names, I'm expecting a nice challenging semester." Phineas replied, sipping his cup of coffee. "By the way, how's Stacy taking in that you're here with her?"

"Ecstatic at first, but she's damn relieved that I chose her instead of returning back to Birmingham, which my sisters wanted." Kelly replied.

"Isn't it weird that we've been roommates for about 10 days, and yet you haven't introduced her to me?"

"Well you haven't introduced Bella to me, so no, it's not weird."

"Touché dude, touché."

The duo talked about their lives along the way, getting to know each other more and more in the process. Once they reached the engineering building, there were a number of other students walking in and out, as some classes were already ongoing. It was a whole new environment compared to high school, where students would often run around the corridors, bullies picking on the younger guys, and couples making out behind their lockers. Here in college, people are more matured and know their place in doing their business.

"Look at some of these freshies, you can tell because they're catching up to their 9 AM classes." Kelly observed some students rushing to their classes while others were chilling at the cafeteria, waiting for their classes to begin or working on quizzes. Phineas noticed this as well and decided to go check out the parts of the building they haven't visited yet, since they've got an hour of free time before they go to their first class.

"Let's check out the rooftop man." the redhead suggested, "I've only made it up to the 3rd floor where our classrooms are usually."

"Alright then." Kelly agreed and they set off for the rooftop, which was accessible via elevator.

As Phineas and Kelly were busy touring around the engineering building, in Isabella's room, she's also getting ready for her 10 AM class. Her roommate, fellow Fireside Girl alum Gretchen Weiss had already left, leaving her alone for the trip to the ICT school building. Her unit is located in the same apartment complex as Phineas and Kelly's, only in a different building – however, her classrooms are a ways away in terms of walking distance. So she either drives to her building on her pink 2008 Toyota Yaris or she takes a campus loop bus that runs the ICT, Engineering, and Education buildings from the east gate.

Today, she decided to take the latter route and take the bus. As she waited, Bella put on her earphones and listened to a podcast she recently got hooked into, mainly about history. Just then, a tall blonde girl wearing the same yellow ICT uniform as Bella's and since the bus stop was packed, she accidentally bumped into the ravenette Latina.

"Oops, sorry!" the girl apologized. Bella smiled and shrugged it off.

"It's alright miss. No harm done." The blonde girl smiled nervously at Bella.

"You're a mass-comm freshie?" she asked. Bella nodded.

"Yeah, I guess you're one of me as well?" she replied.

The blonde also nodded and shook her hand, while she introduced herself. "I'm Jessica Anne Bronson, but you can call me Jessie or Jess."

"I'm Isabella Garcia-Shapiro, and you call me Bella." Bella smiled as well, "Nice to meet you Jessie!"

"Back at ya Bella!" Jessie said. The two girls talked for a bit when a TSU campus loop bus arrived heading for the ICT and Education buildings. Despite the bus being jam packed and they had to stand, that didn't stop them from chatting nonstop. Five minutes later, they've arrived at the CICT building and Bella, Jessie, as well as several others got off the bus. Unlike in the engineering building where some students are rushing to make their first classes, the students at the ICT building were more relaxed and slow paced when going about the place.

"That's odd, is it just me or everyone in this department is slow paced?" Bella wondered. Jessie chuckled.

"One of my cheer mates told me that the earliest class hours for our department is 10 AM." the blonde answered, then checked her watch. "We're still 30 minutes early Bella, you wanna hit the cafeteria?"

"Sure! Maybe we'll meet some other freshies in there." Bella agreed as the two girls headed for the cafeteria. After purchasing some light snacks, Bella and Jessie noticed a nerdy looking girl, her brunette hair tied into a braid and wearing a green blouse and ripped jeans, sitting alone on one of the tables. They decided to check her out while waiting for their first period.

"Is this seat taken?" Bella initiated. The girl shook her head as Bella and Jessie took their seats in front of the girl.

"Are you two in section 1-MC19?" she asked.

"Yes, yes we are." Jessie smiled, "I'm Jessie and this here's Bella."

"I'm Princess Cousins." the girl introduced herself as well.

The three new friends talked about everything and anything, ranging from dating life to past backgrounds. Jessie, a Danville native, happened to be a schoolmate of Bella's back in Danville Community High, just like Kelly. On the other hand, Princess, who was a California girl that moved to Newark, had most of her friends studying in TSSU as well; the only issue was all of them took Education majors. Their conversations were filled with laughter and giggles, until Jessie looked at her watch, indicating that it's only 5 minutes to 10.

"Oh damn it's almost 10 already, shall we officially start our first day girls?" she looked at Bella and Princess, the former nodded while the latter smiled gleefully.

"First day and we've already formed a trio, how convenient!" Princess smiled. The trio packed up their things and headed for their room.

Back at the engineering building, Phineas and Kelly were being oriented by one of their professors on what to expect for their program. While they can act like carefree friends off the classroom, it's a different story inside; they act serious but are still approachable to anyone who may need their assistance. So far, they've had two professors orient them about the subjects for this semester, and with all the handouts and flyers they hand to all the freshmen, it was surely going to be one busy term.

"And that sums up what you'll expect this term. Any questions?" the professor echoed through the classroom. Some of the students simply mumbled in agreement, while some asked him about clarifications. "Alright then, our first module is about the theories of electricity." he continued, opening a slideshow in front of the interactive whiteboard. While he's talking in the front, at the back, Kelly and Phineas were discussing about how long will the period take.

"3 hours of non-stop talking about electrical theories, very nice." Phineas groaned.

"It's quite shocking really." Kelly joked. The redhead chuckled at his friend's pun.

"Man I knew that one was coming, but still a good one!" he added. He looked around at the homeroom they were in and soaked in the sights he's gonna be getting used to for the next 4 years. Ferb was right, it was a good choice going here.

"Something on your mind, dude?" Kelly remarked, snapping the redhead from his daydreaming.

"Nothing. Just adjusting to this setup." Phineas smiled, before he returned to his business. Indeed it was going to be one eventful year, he thought to himself.
