It's already 5pm and both Phineas and Isabella's respective classes have been dismissed. After an uneventful first day, Phineas and Kelly wanted to hit up with their respective girlfriends and hang out somewhere off campus. The latter suggested they go visit a bowling alley in downtown Newark, a 10 minute drive from their apartment.
"I'll pick Bella up while you can go home first man." Phineas offered.
"Alright, I'll head over to Stacy's to pick her up as well." Kelly agreed, "Should I start up your truck?"
"My keys are in the top shelf where the remotes are. If you want, you can drive by and fetch us!" the redhead teen added.
"Okay, I'll meet you two at the ICT." Kelly said and he set off to fetch his girlfriend.
Phineas took a campus loop bus towards the ICT building to fetch Bella. Arriving at her building, he was greeted with a flood of students cramming inside the relatively empty bus. He saw her standing in front of the entrance looking at her phone; once he was right in front of her, he greeted her in the most Isabella way possible.
"What'cha waiting?" he said. The Latina perked up and saw her redhead boyfriend standing in front of her.
"Hi babe!" she smiled, before giving him a kiss in the cheek. "How's your first day?"
"Pretty neat so far, yours?" Phineas replied.
"It was amazing! I'm now part of a trio group and guess what, we all share the same class schedules!"
The couple waited at the ICT bus stop, talking about how their day went until a silver 2012 Dodge Ram pickup truck stopped in front of them. The passenger side front window opened up, revealing Kelly driving the truck.
"What's up lover birds? Hop on board my truck!" he smirked.
"Alright redneck wannabe, I believe it's my turn to drive this junk." Phineas replied, ushering Kelly out of the driver seat and into the front passenger seat. Once putting on his seatbelt, he drove off towards the exit.
"So where exactly is this bowling alley you wanna go?" he eyed at his roommate.
"Just past the former Continental arena" Kelly replied, then introduced his girlfriend to Phineas and Isabella. "Guys this is Stacy Hendricks, we've been together since junior year of high school. She's a year ahead of me but the difference isn't really noticeable."
"Hi there!" the brunette girl smiled, then turned to Isabella. "You know Jessie?"
Bella nodded, "Yeah! We're friends now, she seems to be quite popular among the mass com students."
"Her and I are part of the cheer squad. She's our captain, which explains why she's popular." Stacy explained. Bella nodded back with an 'I see' expression.
The trip from the campus to the bowling alley was basically uneventful, save for the gridlocked traffic heading into downtown Newark. Bella was telling Kelly and Stacy how she and Phineas ended up together, much to the latter's cringing.
"..and that one time we went on a cruise and he asked me out, he didn't even see it like a romantic date! Like what the hell dude, the atmosphere is all lovey dovey and you didn't see it the way I do?!" she told. Kelly tried to contain his laughter while Stacy's even more interested in Bella's story.
"So despite all of his skills, talents, and accolades, he was oblivious to your signs of affection?" she asked. The Latina nodded in reply; Kelly saw this and nudged Phineas in the arm, before bursting out laughing
"Man I'll never forgive myself in saying this but for someone who's brain is bigger than the three of us combines, you are stupidly dumb in terms of love and feelings!" he sniggered, trying to contain his laughter.
Phineas wasn't amused, "Yeah, but once we went to high school, I was the one into HER. At the time, my mindset was like 'She won't love me, it's just weird sounding that your best friend becomes your girlfriend'."
"Well we men have our own unique ways in making a girl fall in love with us." Kelly agreed.
"True words man. I'm just blessed I fell in love with my bestfriend." Phineas commented, prompting Bella to blush and Stacy to fangirl like crazy.
After 20 minutes of being stuck in traffic, the two couples arrived at the bowling center. Kelly shared with them that besides bowling, the place also has restaurants and other recreational activities like 8-ball pool.
"So, where should we start?" Kelly said.
"We gotta eat! I'm hungry as hell with that damned rush hour traffic." Phineas groaned. Stacy pointed at a diner where she and Kelly usually eat so they went for it. Once they settled on what to eat, Stacy and Kelly ordered their food while Isabella and Phineas remained in their table, fooling around like any other couple.
"Poor Phinny, he's only got Kelly wherever he goes. At least I got two of the best college gals I could ever ask for!" her girlfriend teased.
"You know, having one or two real friends is better than having a shit ton of friends that aren't even real." Phineas retorted, much to Bella's disappointment.
"Come on babe! Don't be all too serious just because of the traffic taking toll on you." she pouted.
The redhead teen suddenly chuckled, "Oh Bella, we may be knowing each other for over a decade but you still couldn't understand my occasional sarcastic antics!"
"You know, sometimes I really can't stand your smartness." Bella rolled her eyes, when Kelly came into view with a tray full of their meals.
"Quit yapping around you two, you're just hungry I would say!" he interrupted as he gave out their respective orders.
Once they finished up their meal, the two couples went to the bowling alley and rented themselves a lane and some balls. Phineas offered Stacy a little wager to spice things up. "Hey Stacy, you wanna bet?" he started.
"Sure, what is it?" she smiled.
"We're gonna take turns in bowling, boys versus girls. Best of 5 strikes wins!" he explained.
"Alright! I'll put $20 on that?" Stacy smirked, shaking Phineas' hand. He then talked to Kelly about his betting, and the latter was up for the challenge.
"Okay girls, you go first!" he ushered. Stacy went first; her throw was right in the middle.
"Oh damn, this one's a winner." Phineas commented, and it was indeed a strike.
"Yes! One nil boys!" Bella sniggered, looking at her boyfriend. Now it was Phineas' turn to roll; he throws it slightly to the right.
"That ain't going in" Bella trash talked. The ball hit all but one pin, which rattled before falling down as well.
"Hey hey hey! It's a strike!" Phineas cheered, giving Kelly a high five. The two groups took turns in trying to hit a strike for a good quite until it came when they were tied 4 apiece. Stacy and Bella were up, with the latter going in for the win.
"Come on baby, give us a strike." she whispered to the ball before letting it loose. She then turned around looking at the other people bowling in the place and the only way she knew she got a strike was Phineas and Kelly's combined groans.
"Damn, if they don't hit this, we win!" Stacy jumped gleefully, a bit overconfident on their apparent victory.
"What happens if they get a strike as well?" Bella inquired.
"Then no one gets the 40 bucks, it's a draw." Kelly shrugged as he was preparing to hit his shot. He threw the ball so hard Phineas thought he threw it upwards. The ball went towards the left side; a strike seemed bleak. When it hit, it knocked out all but two pins.
"Come on, rattle and fall!" Phineas yelled, but the pins stayed upright.
"NOOOOO!" the two boys wailed while the two girls celebrated their victory.
"Looks like we just got ourselves 10 bucks apiece!" Stacy smiled, then gestured the two guys to shell out their money.
After Phineas and Kelly begrudgingly admitted their defeat, it was time for them to head home; it's already 10 minutes before 9 and Phineas has a shift at his bus garage the following they reached the campus entrance, Phineas looked behind at Stacy.
"I'm gonna drop you off at your dorm, just tell me where it is."
The brunette was taken aback by his offer, but Bella convinced her to just go with it. "My apartment's right across the swimming pool, about a couple minutes away from your complex." she told Phineas.
With Kelly guiding him along, Phineas finally reached the apartment where Stacy resides. She gave a kiss to her boyfriend before thanking Phineas for the ride, "Thanks for today Phineas, you too Bella!"
The former honked his horn twice before heading back towards their apartment. A few minutes later, they finally reached home but Phineas decided to take Bella to her room in the building adjacent to his.
"You go ahead while I walk her home. Oh and set up the 2K when I come back." he told Kelly, giving him the home and car keys.
"Okay man, bye Bella!" his roommate waved at Bella, whom also waved back.
The couple once again shared an intimate moment while walking to Bella's room, which is at the 2nd floor. Once her doorstep came into view, Bella opened the door, revealing Gretchen watching one of those TV series.
"Oy Gretch! Phinny's here!" she greeted her roommate.
Gretchen jumped out of the sofa in excitement, "Hi Phineas! How's your love story going?"
"Well enough, we just got home from a double date!" he smiled, then turned to his girlfriend again. "I'll see you tomorrow after work?"
"Yeah, I also have soccer practice so I'm pretty busy as well" Bella agreed, then gave Phineas a goodnight kiss. "Goodnight babe! I love you!"
"I love you more, night! Night to you too Gretch!" Phineas waved his hand to Bella and Gretchen, before heading back to his home.
Alright, I wanna clarify some things here. First off, Stacy in this fanfic is an OC of mine (not Stacy Hirano, as in Candace's bestie). Second, to those who've been following this since 2018, this chapter is different in terms of story direction and events; I did put a disclaimer in the previous chapter. But anyways continue reviewing and following!
