Note: If I mention numbers, I'm pertaining to individual fleet numbers of buses. Also, if I put italics on quotes, that's speaking voice through phone or radio. This would apply on future chapters so I'm only gonna say this once.

Tuesdays are quite tough for Phineas and Isabella. Since they don't have classes on this day, they spend it doing extracurricular work; with the former going to the bus garage he works on at Danville while the latter does drills with the soccer team as one of the team captains. After dropping his girlfriend at the grounds for her soccer practice, Phineas headed for work. He has been working as a part-time mechanic at JAI Express maintenance for the entirety of his summer vacation together with one of Isabella's Fireside alums – Holly Jones. Holly and Phineas had known each other for over a decade and shared countless adventures with Bella. She's a feisty, yet sometimes quiet woman who's always a helping hand to those needing it. Once Phineas arrived at the garage, he went to his boss's office to get his job orders when he was stopped by Holly.

"Oy Phineas! It's good to see you again here!" the dark-skinned teen approached him.

"Hey Holly!" Phineas replied, giving her a hug. "How's it going?"

"I'm great! How are you and Bella? I heard you two are now two weeks officially a couple!" Holly smiled.

"Oh we're doing great! Suddenly I feel like an idiot for not asking her out sooner." Phineas replied sarcastically. His curly haired colleague nudged him in disagreement.

"But hey, you became together like everyone else expected! Don't give yourself too much guilt, you did great with Bella." she retorted. Phineas smiled at her.

"Well I better get my job orders first girl. I won't be long." he replied, before going in the office. As he punched his timecard in, he was greeted by his boss, 29 y/o curvy Latina Dawn Martinez. She may be cheerful but very stringent when it comes to assigning job orders to her crew.

"Morning Phineas!" she said. Phineas waved his hand.

"Morning chief!" the redhead teen replied, "What's our job orders for today?"

"You and Holly will be working on replacing 5408's brake chambers and shoes. The last man who drove her complained of having the brakes being soft and also reported air leaks near the front air tanks. Also you two are on back to back oil and tire changes for 8872 and 5174. By tonight, we need to release these for the early dawn trips." his manager explained, handing Phineas a clipboard of the job orders and the keys to the three buses.

"Alright, we got this chief. Thanks!" Phineas smiled, exiting her office. Holly was waiting for him just outside the office, wondering what jobs he got.

"So what did you get?"

"A brake check and back to back oil and wheel jobs." Phineas replied, "You and I will be working together today" His colleague squealed happily at hearing this.

"It's about damn time we work together!" she exclaimed.

"On that we can agree, now let's get to it." the redhead continued, ushering Holly to their first bus of servicing.

Back at the campus, Bella and her teammates have started to do their warm ups before going on full contact practice. Normally, her role as a team captain only applies to freshman players wanting to try out, but in this practice, she's gonna be in charge as the senior captain, an architecture senior named Bianca Sanders, was out sick. Despite being one of the youngest captains the team ever had, her years of experience as a football player in high school and as the de facto leader of the Fireside girls proved to be valuable in this case.

"Alright girls, today's practice is about making and defending corner shots. I've noticed during our preseason games that whenever one of y'all shoots at the corner, we always lose possession. It's either the keeper gets it or an opponent butts it away from the goal." the head coach explained.

He then assigned players who would be the 'defensive' team – the team that's going to defend the corner kick. As the captain, Bella took her place at the corner to execute her kick. I've done corners before but that was when I wasn't captain. But what's the difference? She thought, trying to keep her composure. Once the referee blew his whistle, the Latina captain pulled a wide kick towards the teammate right on the border of the box. She then hit the shot and it was a goal.

"GOAL!" Bella cheered, running towards her teammate who hit the shot. After the brief celebrations, the coach decided to do a bit more of those drills before switching Bella's team into the ones defending the corner kick. They did some more practicing before they concluded at 1pm; by that point Bella and her teammates were all beat up and starving.

"Damn we did a good job on those corners girls!" she beamed while taking a shower in the locker room.

"I just hope we can pull those off before the season starts." one teammate who was also showering doubted her captain's remarks.

"I'm sure we will if we keep on grinding. Remember we want Bianca to win her first title before she graduates!" another teammate replied, pertaining to their senior captain –Bianca Sanders.

"She'll flip if she does ladies!" Bella agreed then raised her arm, "National champs 2020!" The rest of the team shouted the same thing. Afterwards, the team headed out to eat lunch.

At the bus garage, Phineas and Holly have only one bus to change its oil and tires and their shift is finished. Once the former positioned the unit into the lifter, the latter started to argue on which job they should do first.

"We should remove the tires first Phinny. Those things are heavy as crap!" Holly argued, prepping the impact gun.

"I always start off with draining the oil, and then we could remove the tires." Phineas retorted, placing an oil drum under the engine to catch the oil.

His curly haired friend finally conceded, "Alright, you do the tires, I'll drain the oil." she said reluctantly.

"You Fireside alums really are something else." Phineas rolled his eyes, unbolting one of the wheels.

A couple of hours later, the tires were new and the oil was new as well. Phineas urged Holly to back the bus out into the parking lot, much to her dismay. Unlike him, the latter wasn't used to driving anything bigger than an SUV – let alone a 12 meter long intercity coach.

"Why me? I don't know how you drive this!" Holly said nervously. She's already sitting on the driver's seat with Phineas giving her an overview on how things work.

"Holly, this is a Lions Coach, it's got automatic transmission. Just turn the knob on the dash to reverse and it's a straight shot back here." Phineas explained. She followed her friend's advice and shifted the bus in reverse. Even though it was equipped with a backing camera, Phineas still guided Holly towards the parking lot.

Once parked, Holly did a final pre-release inspection to make sure the job order has been satisfied and the unit is roadworthy; on the other hand, Phineas is cleaning up their workplace of grease and scattered parts. When Dawn gave their job a stamp of approval, it was time for Phineas and Holly to call it quits and head home.

"If you can drive buses around the lot, why can't you drive them on the streets?" Holly asked, walking with Phineas to his truck.

"I don't have my CDL yet, but I'm planning to take it since I badly wanna drive out in the streets." Phineas revealed.

"Chief told me that minimum age requirement for applying a CDL is 21, but we're only 19!"

"That's the Class A one, which I'm gonna need if I wanna drive the tow truck. For now, I'll take the Class B test since the minimum age requirement for that is 18. I'll also have to add a passenger endorsement since that's required for driving vehicles carrying more than 16 passengers." the redhead explained. He started up his truck and backed it out of the parking spot. "Well, I'll see you next week?"

"Of course! Drive safe Phin, say hi to Bella for me!" Holly waved goodbye. Phineas replied with a honk of his horn and headed back home.

Phineas arrived at his apartment quite late at 6:30 PM – usually he arrives at 5:40, however the grind at work coupled with the gridlock on the port access road . He dropped his toolbox and bag on the floor and hopped into the couch. Kelly, who was fresh from the shower, saw his beaten up roommate lying face first in their couch. While he didn't have prior working experience, the dark haired man understood the stresses of being a working student. For one, you have to keep track with your academic deadlines, and at the same time, you have to deal with your work. But since his roommate doesn't work the typical desk job or at a fast food drive-thru like most people their age, Kelly could only sympathize Phineas' struggles of adjusting to the working student life.

He'll get the hang of it once he finds his rhythm around our schedules. He thought. Returning to Phineas, he nudged his shoulder. "Hey man, Bella called an hour ago, says she wants to go here and have dinner with us. I told Stacy, she's also coming over – she has cheer practice today so she's running late."

Phineas groaned and got his phone; sure enough, his girlfriend left him over 12 messages and a couple of missed calls. "Oh damn, I got a lot of explaining to do Kelly. I was just so busy at the garage that I had no time checking my messages!" the redhead sighed. Kelly patted his shoulder in reassurance.

"She'll understand you, man. I'll call her again and say she'd have to go here solo. Right now, you need a bit of shut eye." he said. He picked up their house phone and called his roommate's girlfriend. Unfortunately, their answering machine picked up and so he decided to leave one should Bella or Gretch answer it later on.

"Hey Bella, it's Kelly. Just want you to know that Phineas just got home and he's knackered. I told him to take a nap for a bit before y'all come over. Call me ASAP." Just after Kelly sent the voice message, the phone suddenly rang and he promptly answered it. "Hello?"

"Hello, Kelly?" Bella's voice echoed through the receiver.

"Hey! Phineas is asking what time you're going here. He just got home like literally a few minutes ago. Right now, he's knocked out in our couch, taking a nap." Kelly said. Bella let out an audible sigh of relief.

"Oh alright. I'll be there in about an hour. I have to clean our room first. Don't tell him I'm having Gretchen tag along with me."

"Alright, I just wanna inform you that Phin won't be fetching you there. He's a bit off when he got home and I told him he don't wanna act all cranky when y'all come by." Kelly added.

"So that explains why he doesn't answer my texts." Bella said, "Please let him have his rest first alright? Thanks Kelly!"

"I will, see you later!" As soon as Kelly got off the phone, he went to the kitchen and got to work.
