Chapter 421
Author's Note: Now we need to get Jewel and Rick reuniting with Summer. Think Summer is going to have a run in with one of the Savior's she had the Walkers attack. Probably the female, but haven't decided yet. Ah insomnia is such a great thing, yeah right. Well it gives me 2.30 hrs before I can go to work to write for you wonderful people. Thank you all for continuing to finding this story and favoriting it. I am always blown away by that. Sorry this chapter is short, but work is killing me and I'm sick. Please review. It makes me happy and motivates me.
Alexandria:
Jes stood with several maps of the area on the counter top with several other people around them. "The red circles represent the areas that we've searched already," she told them.
"And the x is where the last spot she was seen," Axel said.
"That still gives a lot of area to search," Aaron said. "How are we planning on doing this? Didn't Jewel and Rick want to keep this small?" he questioned.
"They've been out ruled," Daryl said.
"Where did you, Abraham and Sasha first start getting shot at?" Jes asked.
Daryl took a bite of cereal before pointing to an area. "We got separated here," he said as he pointed out. "You and I met up here," he said as he pointed to another spot. "We met up with thieves here," he said with a disgusted tone.
"David said they were shot at here," Jes said as she pointed to the area when she was last seen.
"Do we still believe that they were shot at?" Joey questioned.
"He had a gun shot wound," Axel pointed out.
"One he didn't let anyone look at," Jes pointed out.
"Do you think it could have been self inflicted?" Carol questioned as she looked at Joey. "Maybe to hide something?"
Joey leaned against the counter and sighed. "Before this, I wouldn't have thought that he would have done anything like this, he's my brother," he said.
"Just because he was your brother, doesn't mean he has your best interest at heart. Merle and Jewel are the perfect example," Daryl pointed out. "But if I find out that your brother did something to my niece, I'm going wring his neck."
"You'd have to stand in line, starting with me," Joey told him. "I brought him into the group, I vouched for him. But he isn't the same person he was before."
"None of us are the same," Michonne told him.
"She's right, and the important thing is the search for Summer. We need to concentrate on that and then worry about what happened or what didn't happen," Glenn said. "David left on his own, Summer didn't. We concentrate on finding her," he told the group.
Phoebe looked around at the group. "I hate to bring this up, but someone needs too," she said.
"No, we don't," Daryl stated.
"Yes we do, Daryl," Jewel said she came down the stairs with Rick. "She's been missing for six days, and the only reasons she wouldn't have made her way back home was if she was injured, captured or dead," she said. "Injured or dead are better options then being captured by the people that out there. So yes, we need to discuss what happens if we find her as a walker," she told him as she squeezed his arm. "I don't want to think about it anymore then you do," she pointed out.
"But we have to," Rick told them as he kissed the top of Jewel's head.
"If she is a walker, whose going to put her down?" Phoebe asked.
"Jewel, Rick or Daryl," Michonne answered quickly.
"If any of us find her, we get her back to one of them," Sasha said.
"What if we can't?" Phoebe asked.
"You will," Abraham said.
Jewel looked at everyone. "What are you all doing here?"
"We're talking strategies," Jes said.
"For?"Rick asked.
"We're all going to look for Summer, we're breaking down in teams," Glenn said.
Aaron picked up a bag of walkie talkies. "Each group will have one, I made sure they all had new batteries."
"I appreciate it, we appreciate it," Jewel said as she leaned her head on Rick's shoulder. "But we need people to stay here, continue clean up, some one to watch the kids, keep guard duty."
"Carol and I are going to stay here," Rosita said. "Plus Quinn will be here too."
"Mika, Brianna, and Chloe are going to be taking care of Hope and Judith and Jenny," Lexi said. "And, Mitch and I am going to be keeping Carl company. Knowing him, he would want to join, even as injured and weak as he is," she said.
"And, I'll be overseeing guard shifts," Maggie said.
"Gus is going to be signing out guns with Olivia," Aaron said.
"Well, it seems you all have this figured out," Rick said with a smile.
"She's our family too," Mar said as she hugged her. "We all want to find her, and we all know that the more eyes are better."
"We spread out, we retrace our steps, and we have more eyes then just one or two pairs," Jes said. "If this is going to our final organized search, it's going to be big,"she said. "We've never really looked at the maps of the surrounding areas. We could have missed little roads, off trails, old buildings," she told them.
"Mika and I were up early making lunches for everybody, and filled up canteens and water jugs," Carol said.
"Glenn and I filled up the cars earlier," Axel said.
"We made sure the supplies were loaded too,"Glenn said.
"Daryl and I are going to be on his motorcycle, then we have four cars. We'll stop at the tree lines, Jes is going to show us the exact spot where David showed up and told them what happened," Mar said.
"We'll split up after we see what we are dealing with," Jes said.
"After you go see Carl, we'll be ready to leave," Glenn said.
"We'll go pick up the extra guns," Axel said.
