Kelly was already preparing the table for their dinner when he heard the doorbell ring. "Just a sec!" he announced, finishing setting the dishes. He approached the door and looked at the peephole to see who it was; two girls were standing in front, one of which resembled Bella. He then opened the door to meet Bella and a tall, short-haired brunette girl wearing glasses, which he presumed is her roommate.
"Hey girls!" Kelly greeted, giving Bella a high five.
"Hi Kelly! I hope you don't mind bringing in a friend of mine." Bella smiled, rubbing the back of her neck.
"Of course not! The more, the merrier I always say!" Kelly chuckled. The Latina girl smirked.
"Kelly, this is Gretchen. She's one of my childhood friends and my roommate!" she introduced, then turned to Gretchen, "Gretch, this is Kelly, Phineas' roommate."
"Nice to meet you Kelly!" Gretchen smiled, shaking his hand.
"Likewise." Kelly replied, then turned to Bella, "Phin's in his room changing, man just woke up a few minutes before y'all arrived."
Just then, they heard one of the bedroom doors open, revealing Phineas wearing board shorts and a Brooklyn Nets jersey. Before he could say a word, his girlfriend came running to kiss him, while Kelly simply facepalmed.
"Sometimes I wonder if Bella got one of those moodulator chips or some shit." he sighed.
"Nah that's just who she is." Gretchen explained.
"And who's the new girl in your room huh?" a voice behind them chimed in, it was Stacy. The short haired brunette turned around and was shocked to see her schoolmate.
"Stacy?"
"Gretch? What are you doing here?" the sophomore nurse stared. Before Gretch could explain, Kelly broke their conversation.
"Babe, I can explain. Bella wanted to visit Phinny and she brought her roommate along." Kelly nervously chuckled. His girlfriend didn't seem to buy his story.
"Yeah right, you inviting a schoolmate of mine and blame poor Bella." she said sarcastically.
"Actually, I did tag along with Bella." Gretchen shrugged.
"Wait seriously?" Stacy took a step back; the nerdy girl nodded in reply. "Oh shit, I'm sorry Gretch! I didn't know you're Bella's roomie." she blushed heavily.
Phineas then walked towards the trio with Bella beside him, holding her waist. "Hey Stacy! Now then, shall we eat?" he suggested.
The others collectively nodded in agreement. Dinner was quite special, despite being a school night. Kelly cooked all the dishes from the pot roast to the Caesar salad. After dinner, Phineas offered to watch a movie, but the girls seemed to want something more interesting than a plain old romcom movie.
"How about we play some 2K?" Kelly offered.
"Oh yeah! Now to finally beat the youngster's ass in 2K!" Stacy smiled with a naughty look on her face. While Kelly and his girl were battling out in 2K, Phineas showed Bella and Gretch the view from their balcony.
"It's not much but I'm the only one going out here. You know, to catch a night breeze, see the stars, and just reflect on stuff." he explained.
"Lucky you two, our unit doesn't even have a balcony!" Bella sighed.
"Maybe we can visit every week or so!" Gretch suggested. The redhead chuckled at a thought that just sunk into his mind.
"Uhh what's so funny love?" his girlfriend asked intently. Phineas placed his hand on his mouth, muffling out his inherent chuckling.
"I…I just remembered the reason why we're all here. Kelly wanted to challenge you three to 2K and also some board games"
"But now he's still at it on 2K with Stacy." Gretch replied, peeking through the window. The other couple were still hooked into the game, most likely a 1v1 matchup.
"And tomorrow, he's gonna go on a full blown rant, saying stuff like 'Oh I should've asked Bella and Gretch what they wanna do here' or 'I should've got the scrabble board out so that we all can play!' Phineas mocked. His girlfriend seemed to be intrigued with the last thing he mentioned, regarding a scrabble board.
"Well I wanna play scrabble babe, what'cha think?" she perked up. Gretch seemed to agree with that idea as well.
"Alright, I'll go get it. We can play in my room if you like" Phineas nodded. He grabbed the scrabble board which was stored on a shelf beside the TV, not without tapping Kelly's shoulder if he and Stacy wanted to join.
"I'll pass on that man" Kelly shrugged, eyes still fixated on the game he's playing. The redhead teen called Bella and Gretch and there they spent the night playing a fun board game.
The next day, Bella woke up to the sound of Phineas' snoring and alarm clock. It's 7:30am and while her boyfriend's still asleep, she can hear shouting and the shuffling of feet outside. When she opened the door, she saw Stacy and Kelly going at each other's throats while Gretchen was nowhere to be seen.
"What's going on here?" she asked.
"We're running late, that's what!" Gretch replied bluntly. She just left the shower and ready to leave with Stacy. Bella wondered what they did the night before that caused them to be late for their first period. Instead, she's just beyond comprehension as to how the two nursing students managed to get ready so swiftly.
We only slept like around 11 last night, but what's crazy is that somehow they brought their gear without being obvious! Gretch didn't even bring a backpack and I'm pretty sure Stacy's only got a sling bag! The raven haired teen wondered.
Just then, Phineas woke up to the racket going on in their apartment. "What's all this racket? It's not even 9am!" he yawned.
"Well these two have their first period at 8:30, it also doesn't help that Stacy's got ER duty today" Bella explained. The redhead teen then turned his attention on Kelly's shouting match with his girlfriend.
"I CAN'T BELIEVE IT! You wanted the five of us to hang out together only to lure me into playing your damned 2K?! Come on Kelly, you're going all out on your promises again!" the brunette girl raged.
"Look babe, I...I'm sorry if we didn't get the chance to mingle with Phineas and his girl friends!" Kelly sighed, trying to calm his girlfriend down. Her response was a simple but hard slap to his cheek.
"I ain't going back to your so-called mancave again!" she demanded. She then grabbed Gretchen by the arm, "Come on Gretch, let's get the hell outta here." The short haired girl waved goodbye to Bella and Phineas, who were still confused as to what went down. The latter looked Kelly, who was pacing up and down their kitchen in guilt.
"Alright man, spill everything." Phineas eyed his roommate. The dark haired teen told him how he and Stacy slept at 2 am trying to get the better of each other in NBA 2K. He was having so much fun kicking his girlfriend's ass in the game that he completely forgot the actual reason why he invited her, Bella and Gretch to their room - to hang out and play some games other than 2K. Phineas didn't seem to be amused about Kelly forgetting about his actual promise, so he decided to head to Bella's place to get ready for school; he's supposed to bring her home anyway. He packed his clothes on a duffel bag and walked his raven haired girlfriend out his unit.
"I'm going to bring Bella back home, man. I'll see you in first period." he told the dark haired teen, who responded with a subtle "Yeah sure". The door slammed really hard, implying that Kelly wanted to lash out for the time being.
Once Phineas and Bella finished showering and getting ready at the latter's unit, they got on board a campus loop bus; the Latina teen opened up about what had happened a while ago.
"I hope you and Kelly would make amends, love." Bella worried for her boyfriend's altercation with Kelly earlier.
"I'm not mad at him babe, just disappointed." Phineas retorted, squeezing Bella's hand. He usually does this to keep his cool in check.
The bus arrived at the ICT building as usual and the couple disembarked along with a bunch of other students. After the redhead left his girlfriend to the company of her friends, he decided to walk back to his respective school building, a good 15 minutes away from his current position. Throughout the day, Phineas and Kelly didn't talk much, even though both of them practically were in the same classes together. Despite the dark haired teen's pleas, his redhead roommate didn't budge to anything he's trying to say regarding what happened the night before.
"I was having a great time with my girl and now she won't talk to me just because I deviated from what I actually promised her what we'd do last night!" Kelly wailed. Phineas, who was still unamused at him, glared at the dark haired man but didn't say a word.
That's your problem man, not mine. Consider yourself thankful that Bella's not a nursing freshie. the redhead thought. Kelly continued to beg Phineas for some advice.
"Come on Phin! You always help me with sticky situations like this man!" the dark haired teen pleaded to Phineas.
"I'll let you solve this one on your own Kelly. It's about damn time you don't go crying to me for help." Phineas said in a serious tone before walking into his next classroom. This time, he's not in the same one as Kelly's next class.
