Hey Darkfogfox here. I just wanted to thank everyone who has been keeping up with my story. I really appreciate it. I also want to shout out James Birdsong, Private Winters and Yuri Will Save U for your reviews. They honestly mean a lot. Now on to the chapter.

VI. Asking Questions

On a Sunday afternoon, Amanda sat huddled at a table in the library over her notes. Amanda had set up stacks of magic books in front of her obscuring the view of the tables in front of her where Kimberly and Joanna sat waiting. Amanda couldn't remember the last time she had enjoyed being at the library but today was important. She couldn't afford to mess this up. She had to pretend to study while the News Network talked to Hannah and Barbara about Diana.

As much as she had wanted to talk to Diana's right hand women herself she knew that wouldn't get her any real answers.

"Hey thanks for meeting up with us!" Kimberly's voice rang out. Amanda ducked behind her books and pretended to scribble something on a piece of paper. Hannah and Barbara sat across the table and looked completely at ease with the situation. They must have been used to talking with the News crew. Kimberly cleared her throat.

"So, we'd like to ask you a few questions about Diana for an upcoming story about students' lives outside of school. So the first question, how would you describe Diana's personality?" Kimberly asked in a cheery tone as Joanna posed her pencil ready to write.

Hannah smiled, ready to gush over Diana. "She's honestly so regal and responsible. She's just born to be a leader! Right, Barb?"

"Yeah, she's always thinking of others, helping the newer witches and all the while she's learning spells that most students have never heard of. I still don't know how she can be so driven but always available to help." Barbara said rubbing her chin and looking at Hannah. Kimberly and Joanna relaxed a little and continued.

"Good! Next question, how close would you say two are to Diana?" Kimberly asked, trying not to look back at Amanda.

Hannah scoffed. "How close? We're her best friends! We're with her all the time. Right Barb?"

"Y-yeah! We're with her from the time we all wake up for class to when we go to sleep at the end of the day." Barbara replied with a hint of nervousness in her voice.

Joanna and Kimberly both looked over at each other momentarily, confirming that they were both thinking the same thing.

"So what kinds of things does Diana like to do that aren't school related?" Joanna asked.

Both Hannah and Barbara were about to answer but frozen, realizing that they both had no idea. Hannah swallowed and looked over at Barbara for support but Barbara was struggling to find an answer.

"Well… she likes to study and help people." Barbara said weakly. Hannah looked around to see that Diana wasn't there and the library was sparsely scattered with students.

"Look, we honestly don't know. Diana doesn't really like to talk about her family, personal life or even her hobbies." Hannah in a hushed tone as Barbara scratched her head.

"I don't even think she has hobbies. She's so busy helping everyone else and studying. It seems like that's all she thinks about." Barbara finished sadly. Joanna leaned in with her notepad.

"You seem pretty sad about that." Joanna observed softening her 's eyes teared up a little, when she met Hannah's look, the red-haired witch also started to tear up. Hannah stubbornly wiped the moisture out of her eyes and spoke.

"We've tried to hang out with her informally, but she never wants to or 'has time for us'. Sure we get invited to all of her family's fancy parties and sure we go with her to other events but never do normal things like the other teams do." Hannah said dabbing her eyes and turning away.

"Yeah, we've never had any sleepovers or really hung out with her at her house. It just feels like she always holds us at arm's length." Barbara said. Both witches hugged each other for emotional support as they both tried to suppress their tears. Kimberly and Joanna sat there surprised that they had hit on something so emotionally tender.

Amanda peeked over her books and hid herself again. She couldn't believe it. They always were with Diana and were the first to sing her praises yet they didn't really even know her. Even more so, Diana hid her personal life from her 'best friends'. Amanda was now even more intrigued. She had to know more, but where to after this? Kimberly awkwardly reached across the table to pat Barbara on the shoulder.

"There, there. Look, we can keep what your identities private when we write the story. How about that? Diana doesn't have to know."Joanna flipped her pencil through her fingers, thinking and decided to take it several steps further.

"Has Diana ever cried in front of you guys?"Kimberly gave her teammate a dirty look, feeling that the question was inappropriate. Hannah and Barbara let go of each other and sniffled.

"Sort of." Hannah began.

"There have been a lot of days when we get back to our dorm room when Diana looks

like she's going to cry, but she always goes over to her side of the room and doesn't come out until dinner." Barbara said.

Amanda's ears perked up, she had only been afforded glances into the blue team's room but there seemed to be a small little alcove set aside for Diana on one side. There's where she needed to investigate, if there was any real juicy info on Diana it would surely be in there. Searching Diana's locker would be pointless, she'd be too smart to leave anything of value in there. Kimberly and Joanna decided that they had put the blue team through enough and started to gather their things.

"Okay, we're sorry that we brought up so many bad feelings for you two." Kimberly said, nervously.

"Yeah, sorry that we just unintentionally started to unpack your emotional riff between you guys and your team leader. My advice, talk to Diana the next time you have a chance. Surely, Diana will understand." Joanna offered. The News witches got up and slowly left both feeling bad about the questions that they had asked. Amanda was now stuck, she needed to leave but couldn't risk them seeing her, but her ear perked up when Hannah started talking to Barbara.

"Talking with Diana won't help, remember last time we tried?" Barbara directed at Hannah.

"Yeah, she's a stone fortress, she went on and on about how she's allowed to have a private life and that there are matters that don't concern us." Hannah finished, dejected.

"I know! She spends more writing in that diary then she spends talking with us." Barbara sniffled.

"Come on let's go to the potions lab before Diana finishes her tutoring session." After both of the witches got up and left, Amanda whipped into action and scrabbled to gather her book, then decided to leave them and raced out of the library. Once in the hallway she walked briskly to the dorms to avoid any teachers ready to catch her for running in the halls. She couldn't care less about her crummy books, this was a huge lead. Now was her chance to sneak into Diana's room while no one was there. They had to be referring to Diana's own private diary, Amanda never knew that she had one. All of Diana's secrets were locked away in that one book and Amanda was going to get her hands on it.

Before she knew it Amanda was in front of the blue team's room and luck seemed to be on her side. Amanda could hardly believe it but the door to the room was unlocked. She swiftly walked inside and shut the door behind her and looked around, afraid to turn on the lights. She tiptoed over to the Diana's side of the room ignoring the two neat twin beds that were Hannah and Barbara's. She peered around the corner and saw the desk that Barbara had mentioned. This was huge, she was so close to making a breakthrough but was worried that Diana would come storming into the room at any time.

Amanda started one by one to pull open each of the drawers of the desk, however, the last one on the bottom right refused to open. The red-haired witch could feel that it was blocked by magic. She knew she would never be able to unblock one of Diana's spells but there had to be another way. An idea struck Amanda that was so stupidly simple that it might just work. She carefully pulled out the drawer above the bottom one and lay it gingerly on the floor. Amanda peered into the gap left by the previous drawer and saw into the blocked one.

There was a green tinted tome resting inside. Like Indiana Jones himself, Amanda carefully reached inside and lifted the book out of the drawer. Once it rested in her hand Amanda smiled, this was fucking brillant. A huge lead on Diana. Suddenly the door to the room swung open and several pairs of footsteps walked in.
