With the freshies night about to start in an hour, Bella and Gretchen were getting dressed up for the freshies night. The Latina teen rocked a blue floral off shoulder crop top, a denim high waist skirt, and a pair of navy blue wedges which matched her top perfectly. She also had blonde highlights to her hair, and let them loose in curls – it's still falls under Coachella, but maintaining the minimalist look. As for Gretch, since their theme is Hawaiian, she's rocking a light green dress with palm leaves as the design and 4 inch heels. Once their makeup and hair is done, they went to the car so they could pick up Jessie and Princess.

"Are you excited for some real partying?" Bella asked her friend.

"Yup! I just hope someone asks me out, you know." Gretch replied sadly.

At the adjacent building, Phineas and Kelly were just wrapping up with cleaning their room before they go to the gymnasium. Their outfits are a combination of baggy pants, oversized sweaters and beanies – reminiscent of the early 2000s fashion and the theme for CE freshies.

"These outfits are so crazy that we're just a mask away from looking like robbers!" Phineas complained about how they look shady in their getup.

"It's a good thing it hasn't snowed yet or else we would need them masks and look like robbers." Kelly retorted, washing the last of their dishes. "But for the record, it doesn't feel hot when you're wearing something 3 sizes bigger than you."

"Fair enough." was Phineas' reply. Even though he hated the styling, it was comfortable to wear nonetheless.

Once their room was in order, they headed down to the lobby. As Phineas walked down the stairs, he missed a step forward and lost balance. He tried grabbing onto the railing but it didn't help. Add on the fact that the stairs are being mopped with a wet floor warning sign in place; he tried to land on all fours upon impact with the ground floor but he landed hard on his right leg and there came a loud but brief pop sound.

"OUCH!" Phineas moaned in pain, clutching his right ankle. Kelly ran down the stairs, responding to his roommate moaning in pain.

"What the hell happened?!" he asked.

"I twisted my ankle, man! I hope it ain't serious." Fearing the redhead might've torn his Achilles, Kelly quickly texted his girlfriend, crossing fingers that she's on night duty.

Kelly: Hey boo, you on night duty tonight?

Stacy: Yep. Just punched in my time card. What's up?

Kelly: We've got an emergency here, Phineas tripped down the stairwell and his ankle is twisted!

Stacy: Alright, I'll be there ASAP. Ambulance en route in 3 minutes. Call Bella as well, she needs to know this.

Kelly: I just hope she takes it better than what I'm expecting.

Kelly and the guard on duty helped Phineas up and made him sit onto one of the lobby benches. The guard also applied an ice pack onto the redhead's suspect ankle; this helped relieve the pain but it started swelling into a light purple hue. Once the paramedics arrived, Stacy and another nurse got Phineas onto a wheelchair and wheeled him onboard the ambulance, with Kelly in tow. Phineas tried his best to bear the pain as Stacy examined the damage to his ankle. She tried moving it to test Phineas' pain tolerance.

"Does it hurt?" Stacy asked.

"Slight, but I've had wor-YOW!" Phineas screamed, "Okay, that hurt more than I thought."

"Since it changed color, that means there's internal bleeding. We need to get him an MRI once we reach the hospital." the brunette nurse stated her initial diagnosis. The other nurse wrapped the injury with an ankle support, followed by an ice pack to reduce the swelling.

A few minutes later, they arrived at the university hospital's emergency room, and Phineas was booked into a bed. Kelly became his guardian while Stacy took responsibility of his case. It was a quiet evening at the ER, and the brunette intern thought it would enhance her performance by taking the case.

"Run me through what had happened prior to you falling down the stairs." Stacy said, raising Phineas' right ankle on a sling.

"Kelly and I were just locking up our door to our unit. I was heading down the stairs when I missed a step on the stairs, which made me lose my balance. It also didn't help that the stairs were being mopped at the time, causing me to slip further down the ground floor. I tried to land on all fours but I landed too hard on my right foot." the redhead explained. Stacy had been taking down these info onto a patient chart for reference.

"Anything else that hurts?"

"Other than my pride, nope. I'm all good, I guess."

"Still cracking jokes, huh." Stacy chuckled, then changed into a more serious tone. "I'll inform you once you're cleared for an MRI."

"I can't believe you dragged me into this man. Now I won't be able to go party!" Kelly said sarcastically, pouting at his roommate.

"Yeah right, you won't be going to a party where you're gonna dance the first girl you see there that's not me."

"Hey! Is it my fault that you're a year ahead of me? Besides you experienced this shit last year without me!"

"At least I didn't dance the guys who asked me out then!" Phineas was just laughing at the couple's petty arguments; it made him ignore the pain in his foot for the time being.

"You guys, I'm still here." he chuckled, waving his hand to assert his presence.

"Oops, sorry Phineas." Stacy blushed in embarrassment, as did Kelly. "I'll have Dr. Larson check you over once I pass her this."

"Thanks Stace." he smiled.

"Hey, it's my job keeping your health in check." Stacy smiled back, "I know that's Bella's responsibility, but I'm your nurse tonight." she teased.

"What about me?" Kelly interjected.

"You stay put and don't you dare go to that party." she ordered before placing a kiss on Kelly's lips. "That's to make sure you don't go anywhere."

At the gymnasium where the party is being held, Bella and her friends were dancing along to upbeat music. Once the tunes toned down to more romantic, slow dance type, she watched as her friends get asked out by guys to dance. Keep calm Bella. He'll come around and don't say yes to other guys. She promised herself not to say yes to other guys asking her out; she only wanted Phineas. After Jessie got asked out to the dance floor by another guy, Bella was left alone in their seats when her phone rang.

"Hello?"

Kelly's voice echoed in her phone. "Hey Bella, it's Kelly. I need to inform you about Phineas."

"If it's his absence here, then yes I'm waiting for him right now!" she yelled at her phone. Kelly winced at her sudden outburst that he thought his ear was bleeding due to the high volume.

"No Bella. He's in the hospital with me; he fell from the stairs of our apartment building and twisted his ankle." he said. There was a long pause on the other line, and he could only hear the background music of the party.

"Oh shit! What happened? I'll be on my way!" she said anxiously.

"Don't go just yet. He's having an MRI as we speak, I'll text you once he returns back to the ER."

"Alright, thanks Kelly." Bella said, before she ended the call.

From that moment on, Bella didn't care about the party anymore. She wanted to visit her injured boyfriend and be updated on his situation, but she also has to inform her friends about her sudden departure. All her friends were either asked out to dance or somewhere else in the area and their bags and purses are under Bella's supervision. Obviously she didn't want any belongings to be missing so she waited until Kelly texts her that Phineas had finished his MRI. About a half hour later, he texted Bella; this was her cue to leave. That's also when Jessie returned after being asked out to dance by 5 different guys.

"Bella where are you going? The dances are just getting started!" she inquired, causing Bella to stop on her tracks.

"Long story short, Phineas got injured and I need to see him ASAP." the raven haired teen replied, adamant on leaving the place. She then threw her car keys at her blonde girl friend.

"You're gonna take the bus? Girl I don't know how to drive a manual!" Jessie raised an eyebrow, recalling that her friend's hatchback had a stick shift.

"Give those to Gretch, she'll drive you back home." Bella continued. The cheerleader smiled and decided to see Bella off.

"Alright girl. Take care and tell Phineas to get well soon." she added. Bella made her way to the nearest bus stop to wait for a ride to the hospital.

Bella rushed towards the emergency room to see her boyfriend. A lot of thoughts have been circulating in her mind about the severity of his ankle sprain. She headed for the ER nurse's desk and asked where her boyfriend is currently staying.

"Excuse me, umm…" she started, "Do you have a patient named Phineas Flynn?" The nurse checked the charts on the desk and found his name.

"Yep. He's in bed 5. His nurse will brief you about his status." he told the raven haired teen. She immediately found the bed where Phineas had been staying and saw him asleep, with his foot suspended onto a sling. She tapped Kelly's shoulder, who was also sleeping against a table.

"Wha...what the hell?!" he groaned, eyes squinting trying to make out the figure in front of him.

"It's just me." Bella whispered. The dark haired man let out a sigh of relief as to who interrupted his nap.

"Oh Bella, thank goodness you're here." Kelly smiled, "His ankle was twisted but Stacy said he'll be able to get back home tonight." Just then, his girlfriend came back with an envelope and a clipboard.

"Hey Stace, thanks for taking care of Phinny." Bella stated, hugging the brunette nurse.

"No big! It's what I'm trained to do. Here are the results of his MRI." she said, showing Bella and Kelly an image of the damage on Phineas' right foot.

"So he overextended the ligaments on this side, causing his foot to slide to the right. Luckily he didn't tear his Achilles, which would further complicate things and require surgery. All he needs is regular ice application and he has to wear an ankle support sleeve to limit sideways movement of his foot." Stacy told the diagnosis. She then left the trio to pass the results to the ER doctor on duty for medication prescription and discharge. Phineas woke up to the slight commotion and was surprised to see his girl sitting beside him instead on his roommate.

"Huh? Babe, what are you doing here? Shouldn't you be out there partying?" he yawned.

"Yeah but it doesn't feel like a party without you beside me." Bella pouted, before pulling Phineas into a kiss.

"Now this is what should be done at a party. Although I'm glad the damage wasn't too severe." the redhead sighed. Despite the setback, he's more than happy that his girl's always there for him regardless of occasion.

Later that night, Phineas was discharged from the hospital, hobbling on his crutches. Since Bella left her car at the party for her girl friends to use, Kelly borrowed Stacy's beige 2005 Chevy Tahoe to bring them back home. Him and Bella helped Phineas to the elevator, as the stairs would prove a challenge to him, towards their unit. When they made it inside, the two assisted Phineas to his bedroom, where he sat on the edge of his bed. Bella sat beside him while Kelly left to return his girlfriend's SUV back at the hospital.

"You're gonna stay here?" he asked.

"I'd love to, but I've got a 9 AM tomorrow. Thankfully I have no soccer practice so I can head straight here after class." Bella explained.

"Oh God, I have to inform Dawn about this." Phineas groaned. Knowing the young manager, he already expected her to put him out of his usual jobs and have him do light physical jobs. She may be a stickler to tight deadlines but she's also aware that her mechanics are human beings whose bodies break down every now and then, which is the reason why either she'd ask them to take days off or be relegated to light duty work. Bella noticed the tense look on her boyfriend's face, like he's been thinking about explaining his current situation.

"What's wrong?" she asked.

"It's just, I'm nervous at what the others might think of me like this." Phineas gestured to his injury. While it wasn't serious, it posed a hindrance to his normal everyday routines.

Bella held one of his hands and rested her head on his shoulder. "The doc did say that you're out of the crutches in three weeks, honey. Whatever you need, I'll be here for you."

"Thanks babe, what would I do without you?" Phineas smiled as he kissed the ravenette's forehead. He wrapped his free arm around her back, pulling her in for a hug.

He knew he could overcome this injury, with the help of those close to him; like that would stop him from doing the things he's used to doing.
