Phineas and Kelly were waiting for their next period, which is French. It's been three weeks since he sprained his ankle and he's been walking fine, albeit on an ankle support sleeve and wearing sandals. While most of his fellow batchmates didn't really care about his injury, his friends that challenge him in pick-up games are certainly missing him play on the court, especially Reggie.

"When can you loose the supports? I hate seeing you not playing with us some ball!" he asked.

"I'd say another three weeks, but I agree with you; I hate just watching y'all play without me" Phineas replied, a bit upset at his predicament.

Basketball and walking around their building weren't the only things Phineas had to sacrifice as his ankle was still healing. Back at the bus garage he's working in, Dawn had relegated the redhead teen to light physical work such as changing oil and electrical work much to his dismay. Initially, he gave into it due to his injury hampering him of balance, but as he started to regain strength, the redhead couldn't help but silently complain to himself about how 'easy peasy' his jobs are now. But I like doing brake jobs and rebuilding trannys. He sadly thought of doing more labor intensive projects.

After class, the three engineering friends headed to the basketball court nearby to play another pickup game. Since Reggie's junior year friends still have evening classes, he called another friend of his to invite students who wanted to try out for the men's basketball varsity team.

"Man, I really wanna play some ball" Phineas pouted.

"Three more weeks man, just hold on tight" Kelly reassured, patting his shoulder.

He watched Kelly, Reggie, and the sophomores warm up for a quick game. After a while, the redhead couldn't take it anymore so he decided to do some shootarounds to get his ankle used to physical activity again. "Hey Reg, could you pass me a ball?" he asked the brunette man.

"You're gonna play already? Dude, chill for a minute" Reggie replied, worried that his friend might do serious damage to his ankle wherein he's not yet fully healed.

"Just a little shootaround. I miss it" Phineas argued, pulling a one-legged fadeaway and hits it home. His friends gasped, but not surprised when the redhead started to hit mid-range jumpers and long threes like crazy.

That's a real player. Even with injury, he can still do his normal shots. Kelly thought.

Once he was satisfied with getting a feel for the game, Phineas stepped back as the game started. An hour later, with the sophomores winning this game, they all rounded up together at the courtside canteen to get some refreshments.

"You know Flynn, your predicament reminds me the time Jessie broke her arm. She was itching to perform in the regionals but she couldn't even lift a coffee cup, let alone do backflips" Reggie looked at Phineas.

"Do tell Reg" Kelly chimed in; even the sophomores agreed to hearing it.

"Alright, so back in her junior year.." Reggie was just getting started with his story when he heard someone shout his name. "Speak of the devil, she's here!" he stood up from the table and greeted his younger sister.

"What up dog?" She had Bella, Stacy and two other cheerleaders in her entourage.

"I'm great! Just finished cheer practice with my gals" the blonde girl smiled. Bella and Stacy found their way out of the group and at the sight of their respective amors, each girl planted a good long kiss on their guys. The rest of the pickup group whistled in amusement at the sight, especially the 6 foot 6 Reggie. Bella's sure one hell of a kisser. I won't be surprised if she kisses the ankle pain away from Phineas so he can play again. He wondered, watching his friend making out with the raven haired Latina.

Returning to his sister, Reggie continued on his story. "Where was I again?"

"Umm, you were telling about how Jessie missed the regionals with a broken arm?" one of the sophomores replied.

The blonde cheer captain groaned in the memory of that event. "Oh great, and I thought this just goes around us cheerleaders"

"Why don't you tell us instead sis?" her brother smirked. Jessie gave him the death stare, prompting the guys to laugh.

The following morning, Phineas was getting ready to go to work while Kelly's still asleep in the room in front of him. Holly will be picking him up today as he couldn't drive yet. Since he's expecting a light workload due to his ankle, he wore his JAI Express 35th anniversary polo shirt and blue jeans; he still brings his work shirt just in case. When Holly gave the redhead the message, telling him she's waiting, he knocked over at Kelly's door to tell him he's leaving.

"Hey man I'm off to work, see ya later!" he said, to which his roommate groaned in reply.

Phineas got down from his 2nd floor unit down to the lobby and was warmly greeted by Holly. Once they made it into the latter's 2015 Nissan Rogue, the two colleagues set off for the garage.

"How's your ankle holding up?" she asked curiously.

"I can walk now without losing balance tho" Phineas replied coldly. The raven haired African-American teen felt sorry for her friend, judging by his tone of voice.

"Are you banging on about how you feel useless because you couldn't do the usual jobs you do?" she added. The redhead teen nodded.

"I'm used to lifting A/C units and dismantling pistons. Why am I stuck with just no big electrical faults and stuff like that?"

"Because Dawn doesn't want any one of us to get hurt more than they already are Phineas" Holly retorted, slightly annoyed. "Yes she's a stickler to our deadlines but she also cares for our well-being too! Remember when James split his lip? Chief told him to take a day off to have his lip stitched up and he did!"

Phineas tried to sink in his friend's point of view of his situation; he always thought the reason why he's been demoted to easier jobs was because his boss didn't believe in his strengths. But Holly proved all his doubts wrong.

"You see Phineas, she relegated you to less labor intensive jobs because she cares about your health not because she doesn't think you're not capable of doing the job. That's how Dawn works" she continued, a more calm tone in her voice. Phineas smiled at her words of wisdom. I'll have to thank Dawn for this. Not all bosses are as hard-nosed yet sympathetic as she is. he left a mental note to himself.
