Chapter 425

Author's Note: You expect me to pick up right from where I left off last time, don't you?Well, you should know better than that. I mean I have to get our people up to finding her right? You'd expect no less than that from me by now, would you? I mean there's a reason you guys came back every chapter. Thank you for the reviews, keep it up.

Rescue group:

Jes looked at Abraham as she stood behind him as he drove the RV. "See that?" she asked as she nodded toward the walkers' that were in a group.

"I see it," Abraham said. "We go through or we stop and take care of it?"

Jewel looked at Rick then toward the front of the RV. "We came out here to look for Summer and that means we need to look through all the walkers'. So, we need to stop," she told them.

"So we stop," Abraham said as he stopped the Rv. "Seems like there's about twenty maybe 30 of them," he said.

"Nothing we can't handle," Jes said as she stepped out of the Rv signaling the two other cars and Daryl's motorcycle to stop

"What's going on?" Mar asked from the back of Daryl's motorcycle.

"Walker's," Jes said.

"We killing them and looking for Summer," Daryl reasoned as he stepped off the bike. "Well what are we waiting for?" he asked as he headed toward the walker's.

Mar shook his head. "I swear he thrives off this," she said as she grabbed her knife.

"You have to admit that this is life now," Jes answered as she joined in killing the walkers.

"I'd like a few more days of quiet," Mar said.

Rick and Jewel both killed walkers' with the rest of the group. jewel bent down and looked at every walker with long hair. "She's not here...she isn't here, she isn't here," she said as she put her hand over her face.

"That's a good thing," Glenn said, more to himself than anyone else.

Rick bent down and wrapped her in his arms. "It's OK, we keep looking," he said as he kissed the side of her cheek.

"This body is still warm, this is new," Beth said. "And there's tire tracks," she said.

Axel looked at Daryl "See we were listening when we were with you after the prison," he said.

"Abraham and I heard a long horn beep," Jewel said as she got up from the ground.

"We heard it too," Joey said. "But I'd be hard pressed to tell you where exactly it came from," he said.

"We follow the tracks," Abraham said.

"We don't even know if it's her," Nikki said.

Aaron looked at her, then the group. "It doesn't matter if it was her, it was somebody, somebody that needed, needs our help. And we can't just ignore that, we're better than that, we have to be."

"So we're going to risk our lives for a stranger?" Nikki questioned.

"We were all strangers at one time," Beth said. "There's bad people out there, but there's good people too, and we can't stop being the good people," she said.

"If it's trouble, we can handle it," Abraham said.

"We should surround from all sides," Jes said.

The people who aren't good with weapons, will stay with the RV, one person who can shoot will stay with them," Rick instructed.

"We don't need anyone out there that doesn't know what they are doing," Abraham said.

"I'll stay behind with Nikki," Beth said. We'll be fine."

"What about the rest of us?" Emily questioned.

"We'll take one car, the rest of us will be on foot. The car needs to be at a distant not to cause attention in case there is something to be worried about," Jes instructed.

"Mar, Sasha and Aaron will be in the car. Glenn, you take a group and go around, come from the back, the rest of us will follow the tracks," Rick instructed.

"Keep radio silence unless absolutly necessary," Jewel added.

"Spread out, don't mess up the tracks," Daryl instructed.

"If you see anything get someone else's attention, don't try to be a hero on your own," Michonne said as she nodded and went with Glenn.

"What if this isn't Summer?" Phoebe asked quietly.

"Then we possibly save someone else," Glenn answered.

"They know the chances of it being Summer is low, but someone is in trouble. You don't blow a horn to get the attention of the walkers' just for the fun of it," Michonne said.

"We help others, it's what we do, it's what you do, otherwise you would have never helped us," Glenn said to Phoebe

"But we know there's bad people out there, these guys that Daryl, Sasha and Abraham ran into," Phoebe responded.

"There's always going to be bad people," Michonne said. "There is also going to be good people," she added.

Lexi, Mika, Enid and Carl POV:

Mike carried Judith into the infirmary. "There's big brother, Jude," she said as Jude clapped her hands.

"Hey Judy," Carl said. "I wouldn't be surprised if she is afraid of me," he said softly.

"You are still her big brother," Lexi told him as she rocked Hope. "Do you want to go see Carl Judy? I bet you missed your cuddles, didn't you?"

"You have to be careful, Carl's got a booboo," Enid said

"I think it's bigger than a booboo," Carl said as he took Judy and kissed the top of her head. "Hi Judy, I missed you. I hope I don't scare you and Hope, I look kinda like a monster," he said.

Judy curled into his chest and laid her head down, causing the other three to laugh. "Yeah you look like a cuddle monster," Mika said.

"It must be hard for her, you know? You and Summer suddenly went away," Enid told her.

"A lot of people just go away," Carl answered.

"I know, but for Judy it must be hard, I mean she can't really understand that people are here one day, and gone the next," Enid said. "I don't understand it myself," she said.

"None of us understand it," Lexi responded.

"Judy doesn't have to understand it, she has all of us to show her that she is loved. And Hope too," Mika said. "Carl's alive, and they are looking for Summer. They'll find her, one way or another," she said softly.

"Mom won't give up on her, she'll stay out there for days if she has too," Carl said.

"Do you think Summer is alive?" Enid asked.

Mika, Lexi and Carl all looked at each other. "Yes," they all answered.

Rescue group:

Daryl put up his fist for the group to stop and motioned Rick closer to him. "There's some sort of commotion up ahead," he told Rick.

"Can you see how many people are involved?" Rick questioned.

"To far away," Daryl answered.

"What's going on?" Axel asked.

"Trouble up ahead, not sure how many people are involved," Rick answered.

"Jewel," Daryl called.

Jewel walked over and looked at him. "What's up?"

"You think you can still climb a tree?" Daryl asked.

"Piece of cake, why?" Jewel asked.

"We need to get closer, get a visual know what we are working with. They'll see us approaching on foot," Daryl explained.

"I'll go with her, climb up the other tree," Joey said.

"I'll contact Glenn, tell him to have some of his group climb up a tree, go from that side. Have double coverage," Axel said.

Abraham put his weapon on his shoulder. "We'll cover from the ground, take out any walkers," he said as he nodded at Michonne.

"I'll go with you," Mar said as she and Aaron went with Michonne and Abraham.

Jewel nodded to Joey as they both used coverage of trees to hide themselves. Jewel climbed a tree and looked at the scene then jumped down. "Summer. Summer is there," she whispered to Daryl and Rick.

Daryl whistled.

"Some guy is holding her," Joey said.

Jewel tilted her head and heard Summer's whistling in response to Daryl. She didn't take a second to hesitate before she ran toward where Summer is. She knew Daryl, Rick and Joey was behind her. She used the coverage of an old truck and used the hood to walk quietly on the roof. She readied her knife when she saw Summer fall and quickly threw the knife and hit the man in the head.

Summer looked up. "Hey mom," she said.

Jewel took off running and went down on her knees and grabbed her. "Summer Grace Dixon, don't you ever do that to me again!" she said as she hugged her and kissed the side of her head.
