Flying into more sadness, again. This time, as we enter fall and creep our way to winter, I figure I should tackle a more colder subject. This may or may not contain OOC, however you view it. Spoilers for those who haven't seen the movie, so weapons up and (possible) tissues at your side, everyone.

The Willoughbys are not owned by me. All incarnations (book and movie adaptation) belong to their respective owners. The song used (Timelessness 2) is not owned by me also, and belongs to Fear Factory.

The Alps was a cold and freezing place. One would look at it as a snowy version of hell as the trees are buried underneath the blistering snow. It has been marked as unclimable for a reason. When people walk into this freezing darkness, they never come out. Some are frozen to death, others are buried like the trees. For one particular group, their fates were dark.

I felt darkness...

4 children. The snow had claimed 4 children.

One was named Tim. Visions of the pictures speaking to him and a cautious personality were the traits he inhabited. A firstborn should have the care and love of a mother and father. He never received it. His parents disliked him and all of the siblings. When the children's lives changed, he got carried over to one foster family before being sent to the Department of Orphan Services.

The nanny, Linda saved him from a limbo fate. He organized the mission to save his parents and reunite the siblings. They succeeded, and what did they get in return from the parents? True abandonment in the Alps. The only hope he had was with his siblings. Embraced in the ice forever, he only bore a solemn smile and closed eyes.

Closing in on me...

4 souls. The snow had frozen 4 souls.

The other was Jane. The daughter of the family, she had a bubbly personality and a mood to sing. The despair of being separated from her siblings on that day led her to isolation as her foster family danced the nights away...

That was when she was reunited with the siblings. Hope and despair mixed together when they tried to find their parents. Hope rose when they found them and unfroze them... but despair possessed her when the parents left them. Sadness in her eyes, but happiness in her heart... The sadness would never be seen as the ice embraced them and her eyes now closed before then. The same solemn smile Tim wore was hers as well.

Chilling shadows...

4 hearts. The snow had stopped 4 hearts.

The Barnaby twins were identical in every way. Talents, looks, voices, skills... No one could tell them apart. When they were separated, they were about brainwashed by an oncoming surge of digital technology and modernization...

When they were saved, they used their skills to bring their invention to life. It had worked in the long run, but came to an end after they saved the parents. They tried their best keeping warm, but it was no use. They soon met their fate, arms wrapped around their older siblings and soft smiles coupled with closed eyes.

Surrounding me...

4 pairs. 4 pairs of every main body part sealed and encased in ice.

None of the siblings had any regrets as they were buried in the snow. The lovelessness emitted from their hearts quickened the freeze. Hands intertwined, bodies huddled together as the oncoming wave of death enveloped everyone.

No one found them in the ice that day. No more would Tim's cautious advice, or Jane's beautiful singing, or the Barnaby's illustrious teamwork graze the face of the earth. Their dreams were only particles in the wind, fragments of what could have been. Many other people who have these talents may one day adapt and change.

I had the poison leak

Into my skin and it corroded my heart away

Bled away...

Cut away...

Dark night of my soul...

Maybe one day, this dark story can be discovered and retold... A story about the children who wanted their parent's love... but had each other instead. Such is a frozen fate in the Alps...
