All Night Mare Long
Chapter 427
Author's Note: No work because of Hurricane Irma recovery means more chapters for you. I personally will be glad to get back to my apartment this weekend. I do not look forward to cleaning out my freezer. Blah. But enough of my whining and moaning, and back to the story. I will probably skip a few weeks and get closer to the end of the two months and introduce Jesus to the group. Let's just say Summer is not going to be happy for the reunion because she knows what's out there. I'm a little bit excited about her interaction with Jesus when they are reunited. Let's just say the Dixon attitude is going to be coming out. But that's for other chapters'. I have a few communities to check on. And yes Negan is channeling John Winchester when he calls Sampson Sammy. As always, thank you for the reviews and please keep them coming.
Sanctuary:
Negan stood outside looking down on the Sanctuary watching the comings' and goings. He didn't even look back as he heard people coming out. "Are they back yet?" he asked.
"No, we could send out a party to look for them. But I don't believe that Levy and the others would even try to desert, they are too loyal," Simon told him.
"Could be the same people that flambayed Rich and the boys," Sampson said.
"We don't have any leads on that?" Negan questioned.
"None," Sampson said.
"Has to be a new group, none of the ones we work with would have the audacity to even think about doing something like that. They all know how hungry Lucille gets," Negan said.
"You mean one of the groups that you terrorize, don't you?" Sylvie asked as she came out.
"You say tomato, I say tommato, little sister," Negan said with a grin. "Can't you see the big boys are talking?"
"The Doc wanted you to know he was releasing Dwight from infirmary today. You remember Dwight, right, Negan? You mistook half of his face as a shirt," Sylvie told him.
"Sylvie why don't you go find something to do? Negan has upgraded us to a nicer room, so why don't you look for some new furnishings and curtains?" Sampson requested.
Sylvie rolled her eyes. "I'll get right on that, dear husband," she said sarcastically before she turned and left.
"Negan, I'm sorry about her, I'll talk to her," Sampson told him.
Negan waved him off. "You think that bothered me? From anyone else, yes, but Sylvie, I expect nothing less. She's never going to truly appreciate what I do to keep everyone safe, including her. But enough of that, back to the problem at hand, that we send people out and they don't return."
"Want me to pay a visit downstairs to our guest?" Simon asked.
"No, I'll go pay a visit to him, then I'm going to have a talk with Dwighty boy, welcome him back to the fold. Offer him a spot among us, I mean least I can do now that I'm married to his ex wife," Negan told them.
Simon and Sampson exchanged glances. "You think that's such a good idea boss? He did try to run off," Simon reminded him.
Negan looked at Sampson. "What do you think Sammy? Should I give Dwighty boy a chance? Or should I just take him out and bang his head in? I mean I am banging his hot ex wife, and you are pounding my equally hot sister in law, both of who did run off with Dwighty boy. So what do you say Sammy?"
Sampson glanced at Simon. "Everyone needs a second chance, boss," he answered.
Negan grasped Sampson's shoulder. "See Simon, Sammy here gets it. Everyone makes a mistake. I think Dwighty boy probably learned his lesson, he won't be trying to run off again," he said.
Sherry and Sylvie's POV:
Sherry stood in the shadows of the stairs and grabbed Sylvie's arm and pulled her into the stairs with her.
"Sherry, what the hell? You scared the daylights out of me!" Sylvie yelled at here.
"Keep your voice down," Sherry begged her.
"Negan doesn't care if we talk, we're friends, we're in his inner circle," Sylvie said as she rolled her eyes.
Sherry huffed as she lit a cigarette and offered one to Sylvie. "Have you seen Dwight?"
Sylvie shook her head. "Those things are going to kill you," she said.
Sherry laughed. "Better going out this way, then the other possible ways," she said.
"You're probably right, but I'll take my chances on the other ways," Sylvie told her friend. "I haven't seen Dwight. Negan has him downstairs," she said. "I'm not pushing my luck," she said. "Well, mostly," she added with a grin.
"Has he said anything about when he is going to let him go?" Sherry questioned.
"You're in a better position to get that information then I am, Sherry. I'm not sleeping with him," Sylvie said. She immediately regretted saying it when she saw the other woman's face. "Shit Sherry, I'm sorry."
"Yeah, I know, so am I," Sherry said as she started walking away.
"Sherry, hey, come on," Sylvie said. "I know why you can't ask, and it was wrong of me to say anything. I have this habit of inserting my foot in my mouth, and as you know I have a big foot," she said as she bumped her shoulder with the other woman's. "I'll see what I can find out, OK?"
"Nothing is ever going to be the same is it?" Sherry questioned.
"It can't be," Sylvie admitted. "Dwight is lucky to have someone like you that loves him as much as you do."
"Lucky? Half of his face got ironed because of me, because he ran with Tina and me. How is that lucky?" Sherry demanded.
"He's alive," Sylvie informed her. "Negan would have killed him had you not stood up and you know it. That is more courageous than anything I have ever done. And, that is what I call love. This isn't over, not for me at least," she said.
"What do you mean?" Sherry questioned.
"You know what I mean," Sylvie told her. "I didn't leave with you, Dwight and Tina because I wanted to see you escape. I left because I wanted to escape, and that hasn't changed, not in the least."
Sherry grabbed her arm. "What about Sampson? If you try anything, than Negan is going to take it out on him and you know it. I know you care about him."
"I know, and that's why I'm biding my time. I'm going to have a plan that won't fail next time, and it's best if you don't know anything about it," Sylvie told her.
"You know you can trust me, I'm your friend," Sherry reminded her.
"I know you think I can trust you, and I know I can. But Negan has tricks up his sleeve to make people talk, and I don't want to endanger you with that information," Sylvie told her. "You better be getting back, Negan will be heading back to his room at anytime. It's going to be alright, I'll do what I can to find out about Dwight," she said as she walked away. She sighed as she walked into the hallway and shook her head.
Negan and David's POV:
Negan walked into the cell and bent down and looked at David. "You know I met someone earlier, pretty young girl, accent like yours. Had a simular story as yours, all alone, happened to find one of my communities, was injured. She claimed not to know you."
David glanced up at him. "Then she's probably right. The world is big."
"Not as big as you would think, not anymore. So young David, I'm going to ask you again, where did you come from?" Negan demanded.
"Georgia," David answered.
"Georgia," Negan repeated. "So after Georgia, where have you been? Who have you been staying with? Do you have a community?"
"If I had a community, would I be here enjoying your hospitality?" David asked.
Negan swung the bat and hit the wall. "Now, I've been patient with you young David, but now I need you to tell me the truth. See, I keep losing people. And I know that the communities that I deal with would never have the audicity to do anything like that. So, my question is once again, who are you with?"
David looked up at him. "I'm alone, and have been for a while. I am not going to change my answer, now or in the future because the truth is that I am better alone. I only hurt people when I'm with them, I can't protect them, they always end up dead. So, I stay away from people, for there sakes. So, if you don't believe me, then that's on you. Go ahead and use that bat on me. I'd rather you use it then keep on threatening me with it," he said.
Negan looked at him. "By the time I'm done with you you will be begging me to use Lucille."
David laughed. "So who the hell is Lucille? Some witch who hurt you, left you at the alter, cheated on you?"
Negan tightened his grip on the bat. "Stop talking."
"So she cheated on you, then? No, that's not it, you cheated on her didn't you? Oh my God, you did and now you have a bat named after her," David said with a laugh.
"I said shut up," Negan repeated.
"Make me," David taunted.
Negan raised Lucille without thinking and hit him. "Don't talk about Lucille," he said as he knocked him in the head a few more times. "Get this piece of crap on the wall," he ordered as he held up Lucille. "My girl was hungry," he said as he walked away.
Author's Note: I really didn't know what to do with David after I got him captured and I felt like he would listen to Sylvie's words. He always cared for Joey.
