Hi guys. Today I bring another chapter of the story. This would be a chapter from Arthur's perspective, and here you will see a little bit of the plot that will have the story. I know this hasn't any Mergana or Merthur. That is because this is just to make some interview of what this story will have. But I promise that in the following chapters, it will have. Enjoy.
I'm not own from Merlin.
Arthur could not believe what he was hearing. A Dragonlord? Was the last option really to resort to one of them; rather: the last of them? And that's not knowing exactly where he lived, or what he was like, or absolutely nothing about him. They only had the simplest information anyone would ever have thought of: their name was Balinor and he was the last Dragonlord. And then they had to find him, basically asking villagers for villagers about what they knew about him.
Yes, it certainly was not going to be an easy task. And it wasn't just any mission, but all Camelot was at risk of being set on fire by the dragon. That, by the way, no one knew how he had escaped, nor did he know that there was one hidden in the castle. His father had never spoken of him. He hadn't commented that he had been in the castle the whole time.
So, they could not fail. They had to find the Dragonlord so that he could expel, speak, kill, or whatever he has to do to keep Camelot from falling. And that's not to say they should bring him there on their own. He didn't know why, but he had a feeling that part would be the hardest. Bring him to Camelot. He couldn't explain why he thought that, but he certainly saw something in his father's expression that alerted him. Hearing that name, his father had been very... to put it mildly, aggressively and harshly. Like he's a bad man or something. No doubt there was something his father wasn't telling him.
It seemed that fate had prepared all this, for while he thought about it, his father appeared in his quarters to talk to him. Arthur felt quite restless and still could not decipher why. It is true that his father had entered with a strong and rude expression, but he had often spoken to him like this and had not felt so anxious.
"Arthur," Uther said as a salute.
"Father," Arthur replied as he tried to do more things in his backpack for the trip than it would be in a few hours.
Uther closed the door and approached with slow footsteps, firm, and stern expression.
"I know you do this for your people, Arthur, but you must know it's too dangerous... – Arthur wasn't in the mood to talk about that subject they had discussed minutes before.
"Father, we've talked about it before and the matter is settled," he interrupted as he looked him in his eyes. I'll go for Camelot's sake. It's our only hope. And you're not going to change my mind.
Faced with such an aggressive response, the king lowered his head, setting aside severity for an expression of concern and ... what other expression was there on that wrinkle-filled face? Fear? Bad memories, could it be? Or anguish? No doubt there was something his father didn't tell him.
Uther got closer and stood in front of his son, who kept looking for things to pack.
"I'm not going to replicate that—that surprised Arthur—what I want to tell you is something I've never commented on with you. This man you're going to meet is not just any man...
"A Dragonlord is not just any man, Father," Arthur interrupted.
"Don't interrupt me, Arthur," he replied in a dry tone, "In addition to being the last Dragonlord, there's something else you should know – Arthur fixed his eyes on his father's face where he could see the expression he lacked: pain. Balinor is a man... complicated, and you'll see it in a few days on your own. He is a strong, tough man, whose winters can be seen reflected on his face in the form of wrinkles... - he made a small pause catching air – But... there's something that... differentiates him from other people.
"What's it like, you mean?"
"No. I mean something more of his... Origin. His... being, so to speak. It's hard to explain, but you'll soon understand."
Arthur nodded as a response.
As his father turned to leave the room, Arthur had a strange perception of something he had found to understand about his father.
"Father?"
The king turned to his son almost at the door.
"Yes, son?"
"Balinor and you... Did you know each other?" Arthur asked with a small tremor in his voice, wondering if he would have said too much. The king took a moment to react until he turned around to head to the door.
But before he left, he turned his head looking over his shoulder to say harshly:
"Yes, my son. And you have no idea how well I know him."
And with that, he came out of the quarters leaving Arthur alone with his thoughts.
If anyone has noticed, the chapters are usually short. I do not know if it will seem good to you, but it seems fine to me for the moment. So there will be maybe one chapter a day, and with it, the story will have more chapters. About fifteen, it could have. I hope you liked it. As always, you can comment and revise. Thank you, and see you later.
Next chapter: Merlin's perspective. Beginning of the adventure. Some Mergana.
