Hi guys. Today I bring the fourth chapter. In this one, it beginns the story with Merlin's thoughts and worries. I'm not so satisfied with this chapter, I don't know why, but as always, I hope you like it.

I'm not own from Merlin.

When Gaius told him about Balinor, Merlin didn't know whether to believe it. It was just hard to believe. But worst of all, it made sense, and that is why he believed it. His mother had never spoken of his father. She hadn't even mentioned his name. It was as if she had never known him; as if the wind had taken him away so as not to return it. As if simply with his disappearance, his name and identity had never existed.

Although Merlin understood why his mother had not spoken of him, he still felt deceived. As if his own life had been hidden from him. It is true that perhaps she was afraid that if Merlin knew too much, his life, hers and his father's itself could be in danger. But she could have ever named him. Sometimes Merlin didn't understand why people were hiding things from him.

It was fortunate that Gaius had warned him about Balinor's truth, for if he had known it on the account of the mouth of an unknown man they called the "Dragonlord" for he would either have fainted or taken him as a crazy man. Certainly, Merlin did not believe that he would faint on such an occasion, but he could not make sure how he had reacted either. Then the other question was whether he had recognized him as his son. Or if he even knew he had a son.

But by carrying the truth in his head for a few hours, he had already reasoned and surpassed it. He knew his father was someone who supposedly also had magic, which was nice to know they shared something. Apparently, the Dragon Lords had magic by nature, or so he thought. If they were born with that power to summon and talk to dragons, they would surely also be born with magic like him. True? Or weren't they born with magic? What if they also didn't come up with the power to contact dragons? What if it was something you could learn? Many questions hovered over Merlin's head about the whole subject, but he dared not ask Gaius because he was supposed to be affected by knowing who his father was.

Gaius had previously told him several times about the Dragonlords. How they could speak their language and thereby invoke them, command them to do what they were commanded to do or to converse peacefully with them without being scorched. He told him about his story. How before, like dragons, they were very numerous. But, like the dragons again, they had been persecuted and executed by Uther in the Great Purge for being considered magical people. Then he had also told and narrated how the Dragonlords had helped Uther before the Great Purge. But, otherwise, he hadn't heard anything else about them.

Merlin's thoughts were interrupted by Arthur's voice calling him.

"Merlin!" he exclaimed as he made his way down the stairs of the courtyard, where there were two horses, one for each waiting for them. "Prepare two more horses!"

Merlin did not understand the motive until he saw Lady Morgana and her maid, Gwen, coming down the stairs behind Arthur already dressed and ready for the trip. Merlin was somewhat confused, as he hoped Arthur would not let either of them go on such a trip. Although, now that he thought about it, it'd not be so dangerous. He knew his father wouldn't hurt them, or at least he had that feeling. After all, his father wasn't a monster, was he?

And it was time to leave. The time to reach the place where his father, the Last Dragon Lord, was hiding and hid over the years.

And that's it. The beginning, finally! In the next chapter, it will be more things about the plot, the characters (Mergana, Merthur) and new things that aren't in the series. I hoped you like it. You can comment and revise if you want.

Next chapter: Morgana's perspective. First night. Mergana.
