Closing up his robes Hamish moved quickly into the room where everyone was waiting for him. "Sorry, I got busy."
Randal looked over at Hamish with a little smirk on his face, "Where have you been?"
"I had some stuff to do." Hamish responded and got into the circle beside Marand.
Randal looked around a moment before asking, "Hey where is Vera?"
Gabrielle responded with a smirk, "She's busy being the stuff." Randal didn't even have to say anything before he and Gabrielle gave each other a high five. Hamish needed to seperate them because those two were starting to pick up each other's bad habits which mostly involved tormenting him. As Temple Magus he was reassured that he now had the power to split them up. Divide and be insulted less.
"Can we just get this done with? I have somewhere to be." Marand spoke up and walked over to Jack handing him a dagger. "Don't forget the words." Jack took the dagger from her with a nod of his head. Stepping back to her place near Hamish she scoffed when he put on his stupid mask, looking over Vera's group of little pets. "They still make you wear those stupid things?" Taking out her own knife Marand cut both her hands and raised them up to either side of her, "De animabus damnatis porta."
The collective voices of the acolyte's rang around them "Aperiam in loco isto."
Jack cut his own hand, squeezing it tight as he raised it up, blood dripping down upon the floor. "Condedas transitum." The lights went dark around Jack, his eyes slowly adjusting to the dark. "Devium ducit ad Alyssa." Jack stood back seeing a bright blue light move across the ground. "Right, I guess I go that way." He followed after the light looking around at the darkness and hearing distant voices whisper to him. He thought of what Marand had said, never to leave the pathway. Never step away from his goal less he be taken into the darkness and never find his way back. As the light rolled over a door frame Jack jumped seeing the man Marand had killed at the hotel come running at him from the shadows.
"Help me, please dear god help me."
Jack jumped back trying to avoid being touched by the man as he reached for him. A sharp strange scream rang out behind him, the visage of the haunting figure drug back into the shadows screaming in terror. Jack let out a shaking breath, eyes wide with fear. He had to find Alyssa and get her out of this place.
Hamish walked over to Jack who was laying down on the ground motionless, his face had turned pale and eye sockets turned nearly black. "Is that supposed to happen?"
"Yes, there is only one way in and out of that place, nothing living can pass through the barrier but a soul can."
"Great." Hamish replied before looking over to Alyssa laid out on the altar, her hands bound with the golden rope. "Is she still unconscious?"
"Not even any eye movement." Gabrielle added.
"Good, hopefully it stays that way until Jack comes back." And if Alyssa did move then he trusted Alejandro to take her out even if it meant rekilling her.
Wandering through the strange maze of halls Jack continued to follow the blue light through the halls of the damned. Looking into various rooms Jack could see strange scenes playing out that looked like they were straight out of a scary movie. In one room there had been a static TV with a lady rocking in a chair and watching it play out. Meanwhile in another room a man sat in a dark corner sobbing to himself. There were distant voices talking and screamed echoing in the darkness making Jack wonder why a place like this even existed. He could see now why bringing back the dead and playing with Necromancy was so frowned upon.
The light then ran over a door flashing out of sight. "This must be it." Jack spoke under his breath before opening the door and stepping inside. He looked around at what seemed like a fancy ballroom with a large empty table. It seemed like an odd sight to him and not at all frightful but clearly this was Alyssa's own personal hell. Looking at the blonde tied to a chair at the end of the table Jack ran towards her. "Alyssa."
She woke up, slowly lifting her head and looking up at him uncertain if he was another trick of this place or salvation. "Stay away from me." Alyssa cried out and struggled against her restraints.
"Alyssa, it's me, it's Jack." He reached her cutting the ropes that held her to the chair and helping her up. Once she was free Alyssa finally put her arms around him having hope this was an actual rescue.
"Jack, where are we, how did I get here? The last thing I remember was being on a beach and then I saw this bright light and ended up here."
"Don't freak out but, you died."
"What?" Alyssa shook her head and grabbed hold of his shoulders trying to remember it but she couldn't. She could remember Vera and she remembered talking to Jack. They had been in the temple and she had done something. She remembered Jack told her not to kill Vera, why was he protecting her?
"I came to get you out of here Alyssa. Come on."
She pushed him back away from her, "No, I can't trust you. How do I know this isn't a trick? How do I know Vera didn't send you to finish me off?"
"Because I love you Alyssa, you have to trust me."
"I don't trust anyone." Alyssa started backing away from him.
"Please Alyssa don't do this, I've done too much already to bring you back. I can't live without you. I can't live in a world without you. If you don't come back with me then I'm not leaving either."
Hamisn's attention moved towards Alyssa hearing her groan. Alejandro stood at the ready giving hamish a nod of his head in silent agreement. Holding a dagger up he waited, Alyssa moving her head side to side as her eyes slowly fluttered open. Alyssa looked up to Alejandro, a flicker of fear in her eyes before Jack woke up. "Wait."
Jack cried out nearly slamming into Hamish as he got up. Alejandro moved his dagger away from Alyssa. Jack scrambled to his feet running up to the frightened blonde and untying her hands before trying to help her off the altar. Her legs were weak making her fall into his arms. Despite Jack's concern for Alyssa Hamish was still understandably on edge. Lucky for Jack he hadn't had to fight Alyssa down in the tunnel system. "This house, is clean." Marand spoke up adding her own little joke to the situation. "My job here is done." Turning on her heels she looked to Hamish. "And tell Vera if she ever needs my help again to go die in a hole."
Still holding Alyssa Jack looked up at Marand. "Thank you."
"Don't thank me, I'm just trying to avoid a horrible and terrible end." She scoffed glaring at Jack.
"Right, Necromancer." He commented. "Seeing the future and everything. " It did leave Jack to wonder however what exactly it was she was afraid of and how saving Alyssa would change that.
