All Nightmare Long
Chapter 435
Author's Note: Season 8 is coming/or here depending when this gets posted. Reviews are loved and appreciated so please let me know! Thank you for those who commented on my three year anniversary. And David (Joey's brother is dead) but they just think he's missing but his name is going on the wall at Alexandria. Reviews are loved.
Summer, Joey and Mika's POV:
Summer stood looking at the wall with names before going to get a paint brush to put David's name on the wall.
"What are you doing?" Joey questioned as he walked up with Mika.
"Putting David's name on the wall, he's not here, and he may be dead, or as well as dead, so he belongs up on the wall," Summer told them.
"But he left you for dead," Joey said.
"But he's still your brother," Mika told him as she looked up. "People get scared, and when they get scared they do stupid things. I'm not saying that we should open up our arms to him and embrace him if he comes back, but he does deserve to be remembered. I wish we had a wall to remember our dead, the dead before we got here."
"We can, we could make one in one of the houses," Joey said. "I'll put David's name on the wall, just because you want him up there. You are more forgiving than I am."
Summer looked at Mika. "Like she said, people do things when they get scared," she said as she bent down. "I need to tell you something, about what happened to Lizzie."
Joey turned and looked at Summer. "You don't need too," he told her.
"Yeah I do. It's because we're family," Summer told him then looked at Mika. "Lizzie killed Molly, to see if she would come back. She was threatening Judith and I didn't think...I reacted, I jumped off the porch and before I knew it, I had killed her. When I was out there, when I didn't think I would make it back, I realized that if I died, you would never know the truth, and you deserve to. I have no right to ask you for forgiveness, but I had to protect Judy. I would have done it for you, that's what sisters do. But I can never say I'm sorry enough, and if you don't want to ever forgive me, I understand."
Mika hugged her. "She already killed Molly, right and was threatening Judith, and she probably would have threatened you too," she said.
"She did," Joey told her.
"Lizzie couldn't be left around Judy...or now Hope," Mika said. "I would have done the same thing, it would have been hard, but I would have, to protect Judy. I would have made that choice," she said as she hugged Summer. "I'm not mad at you, sometimes you have to make the hard choices."
"Mika don't ever lose that cheerful attitude of yours," Joey said.
Summer squeezed her shoulder. "You got to keep the rest of us straight, right?"
"Right," Mika agreed.
Lexi, Michonne and Carl's POV:
Lexi sat on the steps looking out at the night. "Your dad, Jewel and Daryl should be back soon."
"They will," Carl said as he rocked Judith. "See that bright one," he said as he pointed to a star, causing Judith to do the same. "Yeah, that's the North star, it's at the end of the Little Dipper. Yeah, if you get lost at night just find that star."
Lexi stood up and kissed Judith's nose. "We're never going to let you get lost, don't you worry."
Michonne came up on the stairs. "Hey," she greeted.
"Hey," Carl answered.
"Hi," Lexi answered.
"You two have a good day?" Michonne questioned.
Lexi looked at Carl and mouthed she knows.
"I guess so, I'm going to take her in," Carl said as he stood up with Judith.
"And I'm going to go over to my house," Lexi said.
"Carl, Lexi, I saw what you did with Deanna," Michonne told them.
Carl turned around and walked back to her. "Yeah," he said.
Lexi looked at her. "We did what we had to do."
"You should have left her or killed her," Michonne told them.
"No, that's stupid," Carl said.
"What's stupid is you being out there when you don't have too," Michonne told them.
"We saw you, Quinn and Spencer," Lexi pointed out.
"You did the same thing but you did," Carl said as he agreed with Lexi.
"That's different," Michonne insisted.
"It's not, I wasn't gonna leave her like that. You wouldn't, you wouldn't, I know it. I couldn't kill her," Carl said.
"I couldn't either," Lexi said.
"Why not?" Michonne questioned the two teenagers.
Carl and Lexi looked at each other. "It wouldn't have been right for us to do it," Lexi said.
"You could have," Michonne told them.
"No, we couldn't, and we wouldn't," Carl responded.
"Were you two playing some sort of game out there? Did you think that?" Michonne asked.
Lexi sighed. "Michonne you know us better than that. You know that we are smarter than that. We shouldn't have been outside the gate, we know that, but when we found Deanna we couldn't kill her. It wasn't up to us," she said.
"Who was it up too?" Michonne asked.
"Spencer and Quinn," both Carl and Lexi answered.
"It should be someone who loved her, someone whose family and I'd do it for you, for both of you, I would," Carl said.
"Me too," Lexi answered.
Michonne looked at them. "Come here," she told them as she hugged them. "Me too," she said.
Lexi wiped her eyes as she pulled out of the hug. "I'll see you tomorrow. Don't let the bed bugs bite Judy," she said as she kissed her cheek. She went over to her house and sighed as she saw Sasha sitting on the porch. "Sasha," she greeted.
"I heard you talked with Abraham," Sasha said as she patted the seat next to her.
Lexi sat down beside her. "Yeah, I did. Ty would have if he was here, he probably would have waited until you two were actually together, but I just don't want to see anybody in our family get hurt. I'm not saying that I think you would hurt anyone but well it's complicated, I mean he and Rosita are still together. "
"I know that Lex, and I'm not going to do anything to hurt her," Sasha said.
"You aren't the one dating her, you aren't the one sleeping with her," Lexi said.
"I know," Sasha said. "Come here," she said as she hugged her. "I saw you coming over the gate, why were you out there?"
"So Carl wouldn't be there on his own," Lexi answered. "I don't think any of us are going to be going out again. We found Deanna, we led her to Spencer and Quinn. Enid left us, she wanted us to kill her, she tried, but we wouldn't let her. I still regret them not bringing Ty back to us so we could do it. I know that it would have been to dangerous in case he turned, but it's still something that we should have done."
"Family did it, that's what's important, right?" Sasha asked.
"Yeah," Lexi answered as she hugged her.
Daryl, Jewel and Rick's POV:
Jewel glanced over her shoulder to where Daryl was in the back seat with Jesus and had to try not to laugh as he pushed the other man off his shoulder. She glanced at Rick, who was driving, shaking her head as she knew he was driving bad on purpose. "I'm glad we are bringing him back, he should have woken up by now."
Rick winked at Jewel as Daryl pushed Jesus off him again. "He took a pretty hard hit, glad Denise is going to have a look at him."
"Yeah," Daryl agreed.
"You wouldn't have gone through with it, you wouldn't have," Rick told Daryl.
"I would have, right up in a tree, I would've," Daryl insisted.
"Keep trying to convince yourself of that, Daryl. You're a good guy," Jewel said.
"She's right," Rick told him. "Almost as soon as we got to Alexandria, you got it, you saw. You, Michonne, Glenn, and Jewel. You all tried to tell me," he said as he swirved the car again causing Jesus to fall on Daryl again. "So shut up, cause I'm finally listening."
Jewel shook her head as she laughed. "It just took you longer, but we have to be sure of what kind of people, I mean we got those Saviour's out there. Not that I think he's one of them, but we need to be careful," she reminded them.
"We will," Rick assured her as they approached the gate.
Daryl looked out the window. "You know I was thinking back before we went to the quarry, the morning after Reg and Pete you said we shouldn't be looking for people no more. You were right," he said.
"Is this because of the savior's?" Jewel asked as the gate opened.
"Just think we should keep training the people we have, keep the kids safe, don't need no more outsiders," Daryl said.
"I was wrong, you were right," Rick said as he helped Daryl with Jesus.
Jewel passed them. "I'll knock," she said as she knocked on Denise's door.
Denise opened the door with Tara behind her. "Sorry to wake you," Rick said.
"Whose this?" Denise questioned.
"He calls himself Jesus," Jewel told her. "Daryl knocked him out, he hasn't woke up, head injury, he needs to be looked at," she told the DR.
"Can you do this inside? He's heavy," Daryl said. "Oh that thing didn't work out, it's this ass holes fault. Sorry," Daryl told her.
"Lay him on the bed," Denise said.
"All right, take a look at him," Rick said.
"He's not bleeding, I checked," Jewel told her.
"Thanks," Denise said.
"He aint staying though," Daryl said.
"We'll see," Rick said as carried him into another room, writing a note. "It's pretty stupid for us to go out there isn't it?" he asked as he put his arm around Jewel.
"Yeah, do it again tomorrow?" Daryl asked.
"I'll pump for Hope again," Jewel said.
"We'll be ready," Rick answered as they walked out of the house.
