Hi guys. Happy Sunday, if you are already in it! Today I bring a new chapter. The story continues! I have a great idea here. You'll see. I hope you like it and enjoy it.

I'm not own from Merlin.

Arthur wasn't quite sure to go to Ealdor. He thought that if they wanted to go faster to Engerd, they would have to go to the south, without crossing the mountains. But Merlin had been the one who claimed to know a path that passed through a gorge in the mountains. According to him, he had used it several times to reach his village. But, still, Arthur wasn't quite sure.

It was obvious Merlin wanted to go to Ealdor. After all, he was basically the only one who didn't have someone to call family in Camelot, except Gaius. And that's what he understood, and maybe that's why they were going to the town, more than anything else.

Otherwise, Arthur was thinking about last night. Every time he thought about it, he thought it was stupider. Merlin across a waterfall? Yes, it was complete nonsense. He would have imagined. But how can he explain that Merlin had appeared behind him when he had tried hopelessly to pass the waterfall? Night Walk had he said. And that's where he knew he was lying. The thing was, he couldn't do anything to know the truth, because, whenever he asked, Merlin answered the same thing: night walk.

So he had decided not to talk about it and think he had imagined it. That it had been a simple coincidence to meet Merlin there. But, inside him, he knew that was a lie. There was a worm of truth lying inside him, who claimed Merlin was hiding something when he was there. Yes, the main question and the one that mattered most to Arthur was knowing what Merlin was going to do there. But, for now, he would put it aside and complete the mission they had to do. For not only were they in danger for the dragon, but all Camelot was, and every day longer, more destroyed and more dead there would be in the city. And that was the last thing Arthur wanted.

Moreover, he repaired that Merlin did not seem as serious and concerned as the day before. In fact, he even laughed and made jokes from time to time, and that, though he would never admit it, he loved it. Seeing Merlin smile again was great. This day, even if cloudy, was now a sunny day alone with Merlin. Arthur took those thoughts out of his head and kept riding. He didn't want to think about the good things about Merlin, otherwise, they gave him gagging. Not for now.

All morning and part of the afternoon, they were riding by the mountainside, going all over the Ridge of Ascetir. And so they came to a large, rocky gorge. The gorge made an irregular cut between two mountains as if a giant had cut with a giant knife between them. Yes, it was certainly majestic. Merlin didn't lie about it. And, above all, he expected it to be safe, as Merlin did not seem very convinced when he assured her that it was safe.

"The Gorge of Eóten," Merlin reported, and Arthur saw that his gaze on the gorge was not exactly one of safety.

"Of the giants?" asked Arthur, knowing full well that Eóten meant giant.

"That doesn't mean there are," Merlin replied with a smile as he spurred the horse to continue riding along the grand gorge. Arthur was becoming less and less sure of doing this. But this had to be done, not only for them but for all Camelot, which was burning at the time.

When the four of them were already inside, they could see how majestic it was inside as well. It was full of rocks and caves where from time to time they could see birds inside them. Two walls were the ones that gave the way shape, which stood grandiosely above their heads. And, at the end of that gorge, you could see nothing but fog cutting the pace.

The afternoon was over, and the sun was falling, giving the sky a coat of paint of various colors such as red, purple, and orange. They knew they had to rest soon or the night would eat them, but the truth was that they didn't want to rest in this place for nothing in the world. Resting in this place would mean looking for a cave where who knows what bugs and animals live. Yes, Arthur almost preferred not to rest and get on with the journey, but all four were too tired to go on. There was no other option, they had to seek refuge.

"I know a place," Merlin said, once the subject arose between them. "It's not too far from here."

And so they followed Merlin to a kind of small opening in the rock on the right stone wall, which led to an open place with grass surrounded by giant stone walls, where in front of them was a big and seemingly illuminated cave.

"We've arrived."

Uuuuh. Who lives there? Does Merlin know him? In the next chapter, you will now. Well, one thing I'd like to say is that you can also search on the Internet for the "Map of Camelot", so you can more or less see the journey. Also, I have to say that I haven't calculated how much time does the journey takes. I know that in the series, Merlin and Arthur are only one day of the journey to go to Engerd, but this isn't the series. I like to do it better like this, because the plot has more mass than in the series. So, in the journey, Merlin will be discovering the past of his father. Yeah, I like that and I have more or less all planned. Also, more Mergana will come in the future :).

I hope you liked it.
