"I don't need a Map of the Darkness, I already know it too well..."

Butch and his son Ben were outside of the den, practicing their hunting skills for Ben when the time comes. Talia stood outside the den, watching the two enjoy their time together. It was rare for Butch to hang out with Ben, most of the time he's be our hunting and scanning the woods. But this time Talia admires him for spending the day with his son, and she knows Ben loves everything about his old man.

"Head low, tail low, Plant your feet firmly, and look At your your target." butch commanded as Ben did the following. Ben looked at a branch with a pine cone hanging down, he took the chance and pounced at it, grappling it with his teeth. Butch looked surprised, and was proud of his son.

"Well done bud! The prey stood no chance to that.." Butch chuckled.

"Maybe one day I'll be a big bad hunter like you" Ben looked up to him, Butch smiled and toasted his hair on his head.

"You'll be an even better one, better than your old man." Butch said looking down at him dearly, his son smiled proudly, wanting to become a brave hunter and fighter like him one day.

"Maybe one day you'll get the chance to catch your first meal. That'll be exciting." Butch exclaimed. Ben laughed along.

"Do you think I'm ready for that right now?" He asked his father. Both Ben and Butch stopped in their direction as they noticed a squirrel down by a log eating. Butch smiled, he knew this was his chance. Ben looked at his father nervously, he wasn't sure he was ready yet.

"I-I don't know.."

"Yes you do. You got this Ben, remember what I taught you." Butch said as he led him silently closer to the tall grass. He looked at his son who had a rather tense feeling.

"Take a deep breath. Head low, Tail low. Shoulders low and squared." Butch whispered as Ben got in his position.

"Examine your prey. Look him in the eyes. Get ready to strike." Butch whispered. The squirrel sat there eating, without notice of the wolves.

Ben took his chance and jumped at the squirrel, growling at him. The squirrel effortlessly ran away climbing a tree. Ben landed hard on the ground with a thud. Butch chuckled lightly under his breath, he was proud of his effort. Ben got off the ground shaking the dust of his fur, not wanting to look at the disappointment in his fathers eyes.

"I thought I had him." He looking down, Butch knew he sounded upset from the tone of his voice. He sat down by his son.

"It's okay. I'll tell you something, I didn't get it on my first try either, it takes practice. Once you really become familiar with your surrounding and ability that's when you strike. One day you'll be able to take down an Elk I know it." Butch said to his son. Ben smiled at him and hugged him.

"Thanks Dad. You're the best." Ben said to him. Butch hugged back and smiled, he was truly blessed. Talia looked at them from the distance and smiled at them two. She walked closer to them and her heart skipped a beat enjoying her two wolves embracing each other with love.

"My boys" Talia giggled.

"Come on in and join us!" Butch laughed as he grabbed her and pulled her in a tight embrace. Talia shrieked then laughed and savored her moment and spent the rest of her day hugging her husband and child, full of affection and love.

"I love you"

"I love you, so much"

"So much.."

Present Day

Butch remembered the moments he spend with his family, he shed a smalltear and wanted to let that go of his mind but he couldn't. Butch has no more love and joy in his life, only Hate and pain. He wanted those wolves to know what it's like to have their hearts ripped out of them, like how it was for him. His only hope now is his brother, Hutch. He needed his brothers help, but it's likely no use. Butch knows that he knows he abandoned him, and knows he wouldn't be able to trust him. But it was ages ago and Hutch could've changed. Even if it doesn't work out, Butch just wants to reconcile with his brother, for the last moment.

Butch stood on a cliff looking down at the western pack, it was about noon so every wolf was at feeding grounds. Butch didn't see Hutch, he's scanning every wolf from a mile away and couldn't see him. "Maybe he's on a hunting trip" Butch said to himself. He got down the cliff and began walking in the direction of the western pack.

He walked rather slowly, but not in any suspicion to attract hostility. Butch noticed two wolves from afar, most likely guarding the borders of their territory. Butch has to try his best to reason with him and not attract any unwanted attention. And of course, Butch has to try his best not to kill any of them.

As he got closer to the border, the two Western wolves finally noticed him approaching. They looked at one another and walked toward him, slowly and defensively. Butch stopped in his track, so did the wolves. They stood about 10 feet away.

"Identify yourself." One of the Westerns spoke. They didn't take this wolf friendly. Butch was much bigger then the two wolves, the wolves noticed his red eyes and the scar on his eye. And they for sure noticed how much blood he has on him, especially on the paws and jaws.

"My name is Butch. I'm not looking for any trouble.."

"Is there any reason you come to the Western territory?" The wolves asked.

"I'm here to see my brother, Hutch." Butch said. The wolves looked at each other, then they nodded.

"Follow us. Not too close. Don't do anything stupid, or we will kill you.." One of them said.

Butch tried his best not to laugh. "Was that a threat?" He said to himself grinning.

The wolves led him inside the Pack grounds. There he noticed he had many eyes on him. Both from adult and children watching him walk in, they took him rather as dangerous and unwanting here. Many pups stayed close to their mothers, some wolves backed away as he began walking toward them. No wolf in this pack was ever used to having an outsider walk in, especially one that is bulky looking, fearful red eyes, and hints of blood around him. "I knew I should've cleaned myself, they don't seem to want me here" he said to himself.

The wolves led him to where the Pack leader was staying at a large rock, overseeing every wolf in the pack. The leader noticed this strange wolf, and scanned him. The leader also didn't take this wolf friendly. Soon ever wolf in the pack surrounded Butch, waiting for what he has to say.

"Why have you come to us?" The leader spoke.

"I am here to see my Brother Hutch." Butch said. Every wolf looked startled and confused, they found it hard to believe he was Hutch's brother and never knew Hutch has a brother.

"What do you have against him?"

"Nothing. I just want a word."

"Surely whatever you say to him you can say to us. I mean if you truly are his brother you would've been there for him. And by noticing the appearance on you, you aren't the type of wolf who would want to be welcoming." The leader spoke.

"Whatever I have to say to him, is between us. If Hutch is still part of your pack I would like to see him, if he's not I'll leave you be so you don't have to worry about a trespassing wolf." Butch spoke out.

"Go find Hutch!" The leader spoke out to one of the Alphas. The alphas nodded and left to look for him.

"So Butch, after all this time you now find a way to come see him? I'm thinking it's something important but you don't wanna tell me?" The leader said demeaningly.

"I don't trust this wolf! I say we kill him!" One wolf spoke in the crowd.

"I would be happy to tear his guys apart!" One wolf spoke out, it was the pack leaders wife.

"You're not the first wolves to threaten me. I was a rogue, and I escaped. Then they killed my family, and I began problems with them and killed their wolves. Now they're after me. There that's what you wanted to hear." Butch said as the crown began to go wild.

"The Rogues are after us?!"

"KILL THIS WOLF! He's bringing the Rogues to us, we have family's here and many innocents will die!"

"Everyone QUIET! Butch! How dare you bring a part of your unwanted business into our pack!" The leader growled.

"I am not. I was here to talk to Hutch. And I need your help to help me stop them." Butch said.

"We don't need your help! KILL HIM!" The leader roared as wolves started surrounding him.

"Aw Fuck.." he whispered to himself.

Butch began attacking back and holding himself on his own. The leader was surprised how well he can fight. Butch was clearly holding back, trying not to kill them. He just simply knocked them out. He bashed their heads together, strangled them, kicked them in the groin, head butted ones teeth until they shattered. Butch seemed to be enjoying this.

"STOP!" A voice was heard. Butch and the wolves stopped fighting as a wolf appears in front of Butch. It was Hutch. Butch looked at his own brother, his figure changed significantly. Butch couldn't believe he was here, after he abandoned him, he has the guts to show up in front of him.

"Butch?" Hutch said to his surprise. He walked closer to him.

"Hutch. I am sorr-" Butch began speaking as Hutch smacked him in the face, hard. Butch roared and put his paw at his face and felt blood pouring down. Then he looked back at Hutch.

"That's what you get for Abandoning me!" Hutch screamed. And then to Butch's surprise he came and gave his brother a hug. It didn't last long until they both pulled away.

"I am sorry. I knew I made the mistake the moment I did that. If I could ever get another chance to change that I will. I missed you, a lot." Butch said.

"I did too."

"I know I wasn't there for you when mom and dad left. I have made many mistakes in my life, and you are all I have left in my life that keeps my feet up. I need your help for one last time."

"What is it?"

"The rogues are after me. I escaped from their pack and killed their wolves. Then I left my home and they killed..they killed my family.." Butch said trying not to break down. Hutch noticed the sadness in his eyes and voice.

"I-I'm so sorry brother.."

"I need you to help me fight them. They took..everything from me. They took my wife and kid away from me. And you're all I have left." Butch said, letting a tear drop from his eyes.

"He doesn't need our help! We have families too that we don't wanna lose! It's his mistakes and he's putting your life in danger Hutch!" One alpha said. Hutch looked at him with an angry expression. Hutch didn't know what to say, he doesn't know what to do.

"Butch. I-I don't know what to say.." Hutch said looking down, he feels ashamed.

"I said let him be! We're sorry Hutch, we can't take that kind of responsibility with a wolf bringing danger to our pack! He has to go, I am sorry." Winston said to Hutch.

The Alphas escorted Butch out from the pack, Butch has a mixture of pain and sadness in his eyes. He knew he deserved it, because he knew he was the one who abandoned Hutch and isn't forgiven.

"Wait wait! Butch!" Hutch called out to him as the wolves took him out of the territory. Butch turned around. They stood face to face.

"Please don't do this! You can't go out alone! Don't go to them, just run away front them. Somewhere far where they won't find you!" Hutch said desperately.

"I got nothing left to lose. I'm finishing this one way or another. Whether I die or not I don't really care." Butch said walking away from the pack.

"Butch! You can't just leave me like this, not again." Hutch said, making Butch stop dead in his track.

"I'm not doing this for you little Brother. This is my mistake I need to fix. And I'm sorry I got you and your pack mixed into this. But this is my fight and I'm the one who will finish it. I love you Hutch, but I don't want you in danger. I've made that mistake I regretted forever. But I won't make another mistake of leaving you but now I have to. You stay here, everyone wants you to stay. They need you. Not me. I always wanted you to look up to me but I wasn't there for you, and now I will finish my mission." Butch said, Hutch hugged his big brother for the last time.

"I love you. I'm sorry it has to be like this. But I can't go with you. I can't." Butch said shedding a small tear.

"Don't cry." Butch said.

"Okay."

"I gotta go now. The Rogues are on their way here. I can't run or hide so I gotta fight back. You take care of yourself little bro. I'll see you soon, hopefully." Butch said with a soft smile as he ran away from Butch and the pack.

Butch ran away fast, trying not to cry. He doesn't deserve Hutch to help him, and he understands. He isn't mad at Hutch, it's his own fault in the first place for abandoning him. Now all he has left is every single ounce of blood on him, ready to strike back and attack.
