Hi guys. Chapter 11 today. Some Mergana is in it. You'll see. I hope you like it.

I'm not own from Merlin.

"Wait, are you saying we're in the cave of the man from the story?!" Arthur asked, or rather shouted when Merlin finished telling the story.

Morgana didn't believe it. Surely there was an explanation. Merlin wasn't related to cursed or even magical people. "But it does relate to you and you are magical," said a voice within him. Yes, it was true, but that was something else. Merlin knew her before she started having magic. That was different.

But she just didn't think Merlin could befriend someone like that... dangerous. They were in a cave of someone cursed who could come to his beloved home at any time to find strangers sleeping. And what would he do? The answer was obvious.

He looked to see Gwen's expression, and he could see the terror in his eyes, but also some... mistrust? He looked again to see Merlin's expression, and in it, he could see in the light of the fire a smile on his lips. Morgana sighed with relief. It was a joke.

And little by little, Merlin began to laugh from the ground up.

"It's not true, is it?" Arthur asked, still hesitating.

-Nah, it was to give some fear to the story, to see how you reacted. You have nothing to fear, our host will come at dawn. I know him very well and he won't hurt us. You can sleep in peace."

And so, all still doubtful and suspicious, the three went to sleep while Morgana saw Merlin leave outside the cave.

Merlin being consumed by dragon fire... A great dragon shouting Merlin's name... Merlin dead on the ground... The Dragon... Merlin... Dragon...

Merlin dead...

-No! Merlin!

Morgana awoke with a cry and looked around, where great darkness flooded the cave. Only a dim light came out of a stone corridor that seemed to give to a room. Morgana ran there, only thinking of finding Merlin, for he was the only one who could help.

Luckily, when he went to where the light was born, he found Merlin in the stone room, reading something with a little candle on one side. The room, Morgana realized, resembled Gaius's with large shelves on which books lay and bottles of medicine and potions lay on small tables next to the shelves.

Seeing Merlin, Morgana went straight to him. Merlin had heard her come in and had quickly closed the book and got up from where she was sitting.

"Morgana?"

"Merlin... I - she didn't know how to express what her nightmares had gone through, because she didn't want Merlin to get scared, so she just stared at him without knowing what to say. "I... I don't know what to do, Merlin. My magic, my dreams... everything is scary. I need help."

Apparently, the last words affected Merlin, since his face had changed to one of confusion, to one of extreme concern. Morgana loved that Merlin stuff. Always wanting to protect others, whatever it is. And if you had to give your life for them, he'd give it. She was sure of that. But would he give his life for her? Yes, she was sure. They were friends, after all.

After a few seconds when Merlin was busy in his thoughts, he looked at her again and nodded wisely.

"Sit down if you want and tell me all your problems, and while I'm preparing something for you so you can sleep better," Merlin said, and quickly headed to a desk where there were several jars and strange medicine utensils.

Morgana didn't know if she should tell him everything, but if there was anyone she'd trust her life with, it'd be Merlin, so she knew he'd only do it for her own good.

"Do you know how to make the same potions as Gaius?"

"Yes, more or less."

Morgana wasn't very convinced.

"I hope they do more than Gaius's."

"I hope so too."

Morgana sat where Merlin had been and looked at the book she had been reading. Merlin was on his back now, so he decided to just keep an eye on him.

It had no title or drawing on its cover, it was only made of faded leather. She opened the book and inside she found a world of strange lyrics that she did not know. It was not at all like common letters, but the strokes were long and seemed illegible. Luckily, there were thumbnails drawn on some pages, so she devoted himself to seeing them. She saw some colorless drawings in which were some kind of amulet or utensil, but otherwise, there was nothing so that would draw her attention.

Merlin was still busy, so she decided to investigate carefully a little more. She didn't like having to gossip about the things Merlin read (because he probably wouldn't like to know what she was doing), but she was curious. Not so much for the book, but for knowing what Merlin would be interested in. She knew there was more to Merlin than a useless servant.

He leafed through the other pages until she found a marked sheet in which a large color drawing of a large dragon appeared, along with a man underneath who seemed to send to do something to the dragon. That was certainly a Dragonlord.

She was looking so focused on the drawing that she didn't notice when Merlin spoke and turned around with an orange jar in her hand.

"I think more or less this would suffi..."

Morgana raised her head from the book to see Merlin with big eyes looking at the book. Instead of apologizing or embarrassing her, Morgana tried to ask Merlin about the book.

"Merlin, what language is this?"

"That doesn't matter," Merlin said as he extended his arm to give him the jar he had prepared. "Take, here's the sleeping potion."

She took it without paying attention to it.

"Thank you. How long have you been able to read this?" She asked as she indicated the strange signs that flooded the book.

"I, well, for a while."

"How?"

"How? Well, just learning it."

"I didn't know you could speak more than one language, Merlin. And you can talk more?"

"A few, but that doesn't matter," he said, and he went to take the book, but before he could take it, Morgana took it away from him.

"Yes, it does. I want you to tell me more about you."

"There is not much to tell."

Merlin walked away from her and went back to the desk.

"I think so. You know all about me, but I don't know just about you. How can I be your friend if I don't know you?"

"You know me, believe me."

"Well, sometimes it doesn't look like it. Now, for example. Who would think someone like you could read and understand more than one language, or even read?"

In saying that, Morgana realized what she had said. She meant something to change the meaning of what she had just said, but before she could, Merlin spoke quietly and softly, as he had done when he had told the story the night before.

"Yes, they tell me often. You're useless, Merlin. You can't do anything, Merlin. The day you do something useful will be the day the pigs fly, Merlin. But, of course, who would think someone like me had some skill to be proud of," Merlin said all along in the same tone, without raising the voice or lowering it. He turned from where he was slowly and looked at Morgana "Because, yes, it's who I am, and I would never change it. Yes, I am a useless and clumsy servant, who knows how to do nothing but cause trouble." And with that, Merlin turned again with his head bowed and voice almost inaudible. "The thing is that, even if I do something right, no one will notice. Because who realizes the servants? It's his job: to be invisible. They may have saved the whole kingdom, but not even recognized for it."

Morgana noticed her eyes getting wet when she heard Merlin talk like that. "Another thing he should be proud of: speech, " she thought. Yes, he was absolutely right. She couldn't feel exactly how Merlin felt, but she could understand. But, if there was one thing that was completely true, it was that Merlin was the only servant she had ever "seen." Not only did she see, but she had met him, had befriended him. If a servant's task was to be invisible, Merlin was not doing it completely well. He didn't know what was in it, but Merlin was someone more visible, more curious, more interesting. Merlin wasn't just a normal servant. She knew it. Arthur knew perfectly well.

And what did he mean with "They may have saved the whole kingdom, but not even recognized for it"?

"I'm sorry," was the only thing Morgana could say behind Merlin's back "I'm really sorry, I didn't mean what I said."

"I understand," Merlin replied after an awkward silence, "Nothing happens. After all, we're here for you, not me." Merlin turned around and sat in front of her. "Tell me about your problems."

And that's it. The second part will come the next day, with more secrets and Mergana.

What do you think? Was it good in this chapter? Tell me what you think.
