All Nightmare Long
Chapter 444
Author's Note: Last night's episode annoyed me, dang you Rick. I won't say anymore, but dang it. Any way, hope everyone had a good holiday (in America anyway.) So let's continue where we were, Summer is still going to try to make these people understand. The cast list is on my profile page. I even add red shirts that the show has added and killed off and red shirts that I have added and killed. Naveen Andrews will play Zihayr. Yes he's from Lost, they just work! Review please.
Group POV:
Rick and the group looked over Hilltop, he turned around to look at the group. "They have food, we don't. We don't have enough of anything, except us. What we can do, this is the trade," he said.
"It's gonna cost us something," Maggie said.
"It may cost us lives," Summer said.
"Fights always do," Jes said.
"Is it worth it?" Summer asked. "It's not our battle, why would we want to wade into a battle that isn't ours, not yet," she said.
"If it gets us food, it is,"Rick said.
"So if one or two of us have to die, is it worth it?" Summer asked.
"Summer that's enough," Jewel warned.
Michonne looked at them. "We'll play it safe, we'll be careful," she assured them.
Jesus came out. "Gregory's up. He wants to talk to Maggie, only Maggie," he said. "He made it a point to say he didn't want to talk to Summer."
Summer glanced and looked at her. "I don't want to deal with him either, but I don't want you to deal with him alone," she told Maggie.
"I'll go, we'll do it together," Beth said.
"You got this?" Glenn asked Maggie.
Rick squeezed Maggie's shoulder. "Deanna was right about you," he reminded her.
Maggie nods and looks at Beth. "Let's do this," she told her sister.
"Sorry in advance, Greg can be a real prick," Jesus told them.
"I know," Maggie said.
Summer and Joey's POV:
Summer walked out in front of the house and sighed having a bad feeling about this whole thing that Rick was proposing.
"So this is different," Joey said as he joined her.
"It is," Summer agreed.
"You know we can do this right?" Joey questioned.
"Just because we can do it, doesn't mean we should. I don't want to lose anyone else," Summer answered.
"We won't lose anyone," Joey said as he squeezed her hand.
"You don't know that," Summer said as she turned and looked at him.
"You don't know we will," Joey countered.
Summer looked over to where they were burning Ethan's body. "They burn there dead," she stated.
"We did at Woodbury too," Joey told her.
"It's not right, you bury the ones you love. That's what Glenn said right at the beginning," Summer said. "Burning them, it's like they don't exist anymore, that they never existed."
"But they do exist," a red haired man said. "And, you keep them in your heart."
"You're wearing a skirt," Joey said.
"It's a kilt," both Summer and Archie said.
"A kilt," Joey repeated. "I'm Joey, her boyfriend."
" Archie," the man responded.
"Well, Archie we were having a private conversation, so maybe let us get back to it?" Joey, not so gently hinted, at him.
Archie ignored him and looked at Summer. "I didn't expect to see you here again, especially fighting us, lass," he said in his Scottish accent.
"I never expected to be back here, I had no intention of coming back here again. But my parents and Uncle ran into Jesus, they fought, he stole a truck, got knocked out, brought back to our place, said that our world just got bigger, and here we are," Summer explained.
"And we brought back the car you let her borrow,"Joey added.
"How's Gregory?" Archie asked.
"He'll live," Summer said with a shrug. "It might have been better if he died, for the Hilltop,"she answered.
"Two of our people are talking with him now, trying to work out a deal," Joey said.
"What kind of deal?" Archie questioned.
"One I hope he won't take," Summer said as she walked back inside.
Jes POV:
Jes followed Jesus out of the house and followed him. "Hey, I want to talk to you," She called.
Jesus turned around. "What can I help you with Jes?" he questioned.
"Can we talk somewhere private?" Jes asked. "So what's your real name? Cause I refuse to call you by Jesus," she told the man.
Jesus opened the door of his trailer and let her in. "Paul," he answered. "Please make yourself at home. What did you want to talk to me about?"
Jes leaned against the wall. "How many fighters do you have?" she asked.
"As I said, we don't have many," Jesus said.
"I know what you said, now I'm asking you how many do you have? How many can shoot?I know from Rick, Daryl and Jewel that you can handle your own in hand to hand," Jes said.
"We don't have that many, maybe one or two that are good shots," Jesus said.
"Then I am going to need those people's names," Jes simply instructed.
"Why?" Jesus said.
"Because if you think I am going to let my family enter this fight without a few of your people, you are deadly wrong. We don't know what Negan looks like, your people do. I have a feeling that Craig isn't going to be in much of a shape, if he's alive, to help that much," Jes pointed out.
"You think that they would kill him?" Jesus asked.
"I do, and if you think that they are actually telling the truth about returning him if Gregory was killed, than you're an idiot. People like this Negan and his people, they aren't known for honesty," Jes stated.
"Andy knows where the outpost is. He's an OK shot. Summer knows what he looks like," Jesus informed her.
"She won't be coming with us," Jes said. "She doesn't believe in what Rick is proposing. She's fighting to keep what's left of her humanity and by objecting to this, it's her way of holding on to that. She didn't want to come here, she didn't want us to find out about this place because she knew what would happen," she said.
"What about you?" Jesus asked.
"What about me?" Jes questioned back.
"What about your humanity?" Jesus questioned.
Jes laughed. "I lost that a long time ago, if I even ever had any. Now, I want to know the name of your best shooter, and one who isn't afraid to get his hands dirty," Jes told him as she crossed her arms. "If Gregory accepts this deal, then a couple of your people need to be involved. This is going to be for them," she told him.
"Archie is a good fighter, he knows how to use guns but he's better with swords, he's from Scotland was part of a Highlander reenactors that were here for a big reenactment when the outbreak happened. His sister was taken by Negan when he came here," Jesus explained.
"Who else?" Jes asked. "Any former soldiers?"
"One," Jesus admitted. "But I don't know if he's going to want to fight against Negan."
"So he'd rather sit around and let more people die? What type of soldier is that?" Jes asked.
"His son was the one that Negan killed. He really hasn't got over it," Jesus explained.
"Then I would think he would want to fight. Take me to him," Jes insisted.
Jesus nodded as he opened his door and let Jes walk out first. "He's in the one in the far corner," he told her as they walked. "You were a soldier?"
Jes nodded. "I was, I still am. We all are, we are fighting the dead and the living," she explained. "Even if some of us are cowards, like Gregory. Don't worry, we have a couple cowards in our group too," she said as they stopped in front of a trailer.
Jesus knocked on Zihayr's door. "Zihayr, it's Jesus, open the door," he said.
"Go away," a male's voice, in an English accent responded.
"I can't do that, Zihayr," Jesus answered. "I have someone here that wants to talk to you about Negan."
"well, I don't want to talk to them about Negan, go away," Zihayr repeated.
Jesus looked at Jes. "I told you he wouldn't want to participate," he said.
"Well, good thing I really don't care," Jes said. "Step back," she instructed Jesus as she kicked the door open and walked in. "So this is how you want to remember your son?Holed up in a trailer, not giving a care about anyone, and by the smell of it, drinking yourself to death," she said. She looked at Jesus. "You can leave, let us two old soldiers to talk."
"Who are you?" Zihayr asked.
"Zihayr do you want me to stay?" Jesus asked.
"I don't want either one of you to stay," the English man answered.
Jes bent down in front of him. "Negan sent Ethan in here to kill Gregory, he's got Craig hostage. "The leader of my group, my family, is going to get Craig back and going to take down Negan. We could use your help," she said.
The dark haired man looked up at her then Jesus. "You think you can kill Negan? You?" he asked with a laugh. "You're going to get yourself killed, or someone that you love. You need to take your group and leave and forget the name Negan," the man hissed.
"That's not going to happen," Jes said. "You can revenge your sons death, all you have to do is meet us outside," Jes said. "You can also sit here, and let your son's death mean nothing," she said as she got up and walked out.
