All Nightmare Long

Chapter 448

Author's Note: Is anybody still reading this? Or is everyone mad at the writers of TWD for that mid season finale? Please review so I know you are still enjoying Jicks.

Carol and Lexi POV:

Lexi arched an eyebrow as she sat at the island at the kitchen. "Carol, I know you haven't killed us yet, but why is the cookie dough pink?"

"They are beat cookies," Carol said.

"Beat cookies?" Lexi asked. "You're making a lot of them," she pointed out.

"I'm making them for everybody. You can help Mika and I deliver them," Carol said.

"As fun as that sounds, I'm going to take Hope over to visit Mr. Miller. I'm hoping that she will perk him up from Mrs. Miller's death from the Wolves. I don't know if it will do anything, but I don't want him to lose hope," Lexi explained. She shook her head and groaned. "Hope is so going to hate her name when she gets older," she said with a laugh.

Carol smiles. "Probably. I'm proud of you that you are offering to spend time with Mr. Miller, you are growing up," she said.

"We all have jobs to do," Lexi said. "If Hope and I can bring a little peace to Mr. Miller by visiting, then it's worth it," she said. "It's the least I can do," she said.

Carol smiled. "It means more than you know, I know it does," she assured her.

I hope so," Lexi said. "Carl's on guard duty with Tara."

"Be careful or you'll become a mini Jewel," Carol warned.

Lexi shrugged. "There's worst people to be," she said.

"You're right about that," Carol agreed.

"Do you miss the people that we've lost?" Lexi questioned.

"Of course," Carol answered. "Why do you ask?"

"Some of these people in here, they are dealing with their first kind of loss due to walkers' and other people. Any other loss they've experienced was before this, by natural causes or accidents," Lexi explained.

Carol looked at her. "It's still loss, no matter what it's from. It just happens a lot more now," she said.

"We don't get time to mourn properly because it happens so often," Lexi said. "I just want to try to help make it easier if I can," she said.

Carol smiled softly. "Don't change Lexi," she said. "Now I expect you to take some of these cookies over to Mr. Miller."

"Of course," Lexi said with a smile.

Quinn's POV:

Quinn walked over to take guard duty over from Rosita. "Any sigh of the RV yet?"

Rosita shook her head. "Not yet. Hopefully, they were able to make some kind of deal. I know Jewel won't want to stay away from the babies for another day. How is Spenser?"

"He spent the night over at my house last night, didn't drink. Being over at mom and dad's house alone, isn't good for him," Quinn said. "He won't move though," she said.

"Do you blame him? It is his home," Rosita pointed out.

Quinn sighed. "I know. But he used to share a home with mom, dad and Aiden and now, it's just him in the house. Now that he was able to find mom, and bury her, I think it might have helped."

"Did it help you?" Rosita asked.

"I have a support system that he doesn't. I mean, he hangs out with Emily now and then, but it's not the same as having someone like I have Gus or you have Abraham," Quinn pointed out.

"There's not a whole of single women for you to try to set him up with," Rosita pointed out.

Quinn laughed. "We are living in the middle of an apocalypse and we're having a normal conversation like it was a normal day."

"It's good to forget sometimes, even if it's just for a second," Rosita pointed out.

"We had a lot of those moments, to many," Quinn said.

"There are never to many good moments, not in a time like these. You can't think like that," Rosita told her.

"We took life for granted. I mean I knew some of it, but nothing like you guys lived with," Quinn said.

"I wouldn't wish what we went through on anyone," Rosita said. "I'm sorry about your family," Rosita told her.

"Thanks," Quinn said. "The RV," she said. "They're back!" she yelled as her and Rosita started opening the gate.

Rick pulled the Rv up as everyone came out. "Get Olivia, she should inventory what we have. We'll meet her at the pantry," he said.

"I'll get her," Rosita said as she closed the gate behind the car.

"You have food?" Sasha asked.

"Yeah, enough for another month," Michonne said as she got out of the car.

"I need everyone in the church in an hour," Rick said.

Sasha looked up at him. "What is it?" Sasha questioned.

"We'll talk about it,"Rick said as Jewel got out of the RV.

"I'm going to go check on the kids," Jewel said.

"Rick, what's going on?" Carol questioned.

"We're going to have to fight," Rick told her.

"We always have to fight," Summer said as she got out of the car.

Sasha looked at Summer then at Joey. "Is she OK?" Sasha questioned Joey as the RV moved away.

"She doesn't agree with what we have to do," Joey said.

"What are we going to have to do?" Sasha questioned.

"It's best we wait for everyone," Joey said as he drove the car away.

Summer and Carol's POV:

Summer came out from the armory after getting a gun, Carol came carrying a plastic container. "I baked cookies," she told Summer.

"They're pink," Summer said.

"Beats," Carol said. "Go on, take some," she said.

"No, it's alright," Summer said. "I'm going to go take a guard shift."

"Aren't you going to the meeting?" Carol asked.

"No, already know what it's about, and I've already made my position known. Not that anyone is listening," Summer said as she started to walk away.

"Let's take a walk," Carol said. "Rick said something about having to fight?"

"In a battle that we don't need to get involved in. I'm tired of losing people," Summer said. "I'm tired of fighting," she said. "I'm not able to do it this time, I can't. Though I feel like I'm going to let people down if I don't."

"You have to do what you feel right and no one is going to be disappointed," Carol said as she stopped in front of the makeshift graveyard. "He froze, and I can't help to wonder if it's because of what I threatened to do to him," she said as she looked at Sam's cross.

"You can't know that," Summer said.

"No, I can't, but I can't know it wasn't," Carol answered.

"Summer, Carol," Morgan greeted.

"Morgan," Summer greeted.

"It's been a while, Carol, weeks," Morgan said.

Carol glanced at Summer than back at the grave. "Since what?"

"Since we've talked," Morgan said.

"I'll go, I'll join Carl," Summer said.

"Is that what we did in that cell? Talk?" Carol asked.

"Why didn't you tell Rick? Mar, Tara, Rosita, Eugene? Why didn't they?" Morgan asked.

"I told them to keep quiet about it,"Carol said.

"Why?" Morgan asked.

"Can we just forget it, move past it?" Carol asked.

"You don't have to carry that," Morgan said.

"Carry what?" Carol questioned.

"You know what I did. You don't want to tell anyone it's kinda like you did it too," Morgan said.

"No, it's not, just go," Carol said as she left a cookie on Sam's grave walking away.

Jewel and Mika's POV:

Jewel walked in to check on Hope, seeing Mika on the floor with Judith who was pulling up on her crib. "You are going to be walking soon, aren't you Judy?" Jewel asked. "How are you doing Mika?"

Mika looked up. "Good. How did it go?"

Jewel sat down on the floor. "We got food, we had to make a deal," she explained.

"Was it a good deal?" Mika questioned.

"Depends on how who you ask," Jewel answered. "Summer doesn't think so."

"What do you think?" Mika questioned.

"We needed food," Jewel answered as Judith turned and reached out her hand. "Are you going to walk to me, sweet girl?"

"You can do it, Judy,"Mika encouraged.

Judith looked at both of them before she sat down. Jewel shook her heead and laughed. "Silly girl. She'll do it when she is ready. Thank you for helping out with Judith and Hope."

"I love doing it," Mika said.

"They are you're sisters," Jewel said as she kissed the top of her head. "Do you mind watching her a little bit longer? There's a meeting at the church," she explained.

"It's almost time for a nap, isn't it Judy?" Mika said with a smile.
