All Nightmare Long
Chapter 450
Author's Note: The holiday's are finally over. I don't know if it's just me, but they seemed to go on endlessly. And a ten hour day at work four days of week, wore me out! Please review, it does encourage me and it lets me know people are still reading. I only got one review last time and I appreciate it, but a couple more please. Now I know that Summer has said she wants no part of this but with Jewel not going, she feels like she needs too.
Team Family:
Carol, Beth, and Mar set the tables and put the food around on the counters. "We made good use of the fresh veggies," Beth said.
"We're canning some too," Maggie said.
"It all looks good," Lexi said as she sat down.
"So, who is all going tomorrow?" Glenn asked as he sat down.
"Most of the usual people," Rick said. "Jewel's staying behind, Quinn's coming," he said.
Summer popped her head up. "Mom's not going?" she asked. "Why?"
"Quinn wants to go since she's a co leader, she wants to be part of this. I'm fine staying behind," Jewel assured her.
"But we don't know how she is going to react to a situation like this," Summer said. "Quinn is strong, I'm sure she'll be alright," Joey said.
"She is part of Alexandria, and we are doing this for all of us," Rick said.
"She's shown to be able to handle herself," Eugene added.
"I'm going, I'll be staying in the car," Maggie said.
"You're pregnant," Summer said. "You were one of the first people to have told mom not to go out when she was pregnant. This isn't something you should be involved in," she said.
"I made the deal, I need to be part of it," Maggie said.
"I don't want her there either, but she did say she would stay in the car," Glenn explained.
Summer sighed. "You can't guarantee that you can stay in the car. We don't know anything about these people other than what Jesus has told you, and what I've seen. What if something goes wrong and they attack the car?" she asked as she stood up. "What happened to us? What happened to us thinking things out and not making rash decisions? I understand that we needed food, but I don't trust Gregory any further than I can throw him. Since mom isn't going, I'm going. I don't want too, I don't think it's right, but I have to do it," she said as she went upstairs.
Rick, Daryl, Michonne and Mar all stood up to go.
"I'll go," Michonne said.
Lexi noticed Rosita sitting apart from Abraham and glanced at Abraham as she started to eat.
Michonne and Summer's POV:
Michonne knocked on Summer's door. "It's me," she said.
"Come in," Summer said as she laid on her stomach on her bed.
Michonne sat down next to her and put her hand on her back and rubbed it. "What's up chickadee?"
"I've just got this bad feeling," Summer said.
"And you feel like no one is listening to you?" Michonne questioned.
"I don't even know if I would listen to me if I was me," Summer admitted.
"You know we listen to you, you are an important member of this family. I know you are telling us not to do this because of what you saw," Michonne said. "And the last thing any of us want to do is to make you do something you aren't comfortable with. You know we'll watch each other, it's what we do, so you don't need to worry about that," she assured the younger woman.
"I know, but it doesn't feel right for me not to be there if mom isn't. I need to be there in case something goes wrong, I need to be there for me," Summer stated. "I'm the only one who has seen Negan face to face."
"Craig has seen him, Jesus has too, so did Zihayr," Michonne pointed out.
"Jesus I trust, Craig tried to attack us, and Zihayr is mourning his son. I have to make sure we get him, because if we don't, and he gets away, it's going to end bad for all of us," Summer said. "I have a feeling it's going to go bad anyway, something always does," Summer said as she sighed.
Rosita and Lexi's POV:
Lexi sat in the living room and glanced as she noticed Abraham left the house and didn't go into him and Rosita's room. She got up and knocked on Rosita's door. "Rosita, it's Lexi, can I come in?"
Rosita opened the door. "Lex, I'm not really up to talking."
"Then we don't have to talk, we can just sit quietly or you can do my hair, or I can do yours," Lexi said..
Rosita sighed as she opened the door and let her in. "Did Eugene tell you to come and check on me?"
"No,"Lexi said. "You and Abraham came to dinner separately and left separately. He didn't come into the room after dinner and you've been crying."
Rosita laughed. "You are a bright kid," she said.
"Look, you were there for me when Sasha went AWOL after Bob and Ty's deaths. I know I don't know anything about being in love and breaking up and heart break, I'm not even going to pretend I do," Lexi said.
"You know he likes Sasha right?" Rosita asked.
"I know. I warned him before they went to the Hilltop not to hurt either one of you," Lexi said.
Rosita arched an eye brow. "Why would you do that?"
"Because we're all family, for better and for worse. We've been through things that no one else can even imagine. No matter what happens, we all have that bond. And, I love you just like I love Sasha, and I don't want to see either one of you hurt. I even love Abe, even if he doesn't listen to me," she said. "Are you going to be alright for tomorrow?"
Rosita hugged her. "I'm lucky to have you in my life, all of us are. I'll be alright, and I'll have everyone's back, even Abe's," she assured her.
Rick, Jewel and Summer's POV:
Summer knocked on Rick and Jewel's bedroom door.
"Come in,"Rick said.
"I'm not interrupting anything am I?" Summer asked as she kissed Hope's head who was in Rick's arms. "I got her," she said as she took her.
"We were just trying to get her down," Jewel said. "Are you alright?"
Summer sat down in the rocking chair with Hope. "Yeah, I'm alright."
"You don't have to go, you've been against this the whole time," Rick told her as he sat on the end of the bed.
"I know, but I feel like I need to be there, I don't know why, I can't explain it, but if you aren't going to go, I have to. It's a gut feeling that I need to be there," Summer told them as she kissed Hope's head.
"I'm not going to argue with a a gut feeling," Jewel said. "But I also don't want you to do something you're going to regret."
Summer shook her head and gave a small laugh. "That ship has sailed a long time ago, mom. I think I'd regret if I wasn't there too. This isn't an easy decision. I wish it was one that I didn't have to make."
"If we don't get him, he'll get us, you know that Summer. That's how it always happens," Rick said.
"I close my eyes, and I see Negan taking that bat to that guy. But it's not him I see getting the bat. It's you, it's mom, it's Carl, it's Glenn, it's Maggie, it's Daryl, it's any of us. That's what I saw that day, that's what I've been seeing every day since. And I wish that you never brought Jesus back here, but you did and now it brings us to this point. And, I'm part of this family, so I'm part of this, better or worse," Summer told them.
